@Yuchan92, ahhh Happy Claudes. Wil be interested in seeing how you do them. I've only seen male Claudes.

They are so adorable. sigh...

 

After having fun in a "Please help me ID this doll" thread, I am now consumed with curiosity about the new female SID bodies.
How do they look? How do they pose? Do you have one (or more)? If so, do you have a Flickr or IG account I can stalk look at?
@Chameleon ? @Tippetarius ? I tried looking through your activity. Felt dirty, like I was snooping...

 

You’re more than welcome to check out my posts—I don’t mind at all! I don’t post much on IG, but I’m @indifferent_red there! I don’t (yet) have an nSid, but I’m planning on grabbing one soon!

 

I have two SID model girls one I only have a close up photo of and the other well... He is kind of a mini me doll as based on a dorky character concept of mixing self with a comic book character. Velocity was my PC around that idea, and I shelled him back when I was still a her. As I have gone more male so has Vel, to the point I debate a chest mod on my doll. As is I can share the lone pic of Velocity from my flickr, as he is one of my SID models with a female body.


My other model girl only has a close up pic on my flickr but feel free to poke the image as a link to said flickr page and stare at my few dolls posted there all you like. ^_^

 

I have a few shots of my nSID girl on my insta under ice_mutt (and twitter, but then you'd have to dig through everything else), but I don't have an older style SID to compare her to.
I personally really love the look of the body and joints, and a lot of the design to me just feels more like they put a lot of effort into making the knees/ and elbows less bulky than my other big girls.
While I don't do too many wild poses I do find she's probably the easiest of my big dolls to pop down and be happy with how she looks. The mobility joint in particular is super helpful, though I always try to be gentle with the way the hips have the locking mechanism in them not to just throw her legs around. She's my favorite for taking quick off the cuff photos.

It's absolutely pouring this way today and fairly impossible to get decent light today.

 

Music to my ears. After getting a Dream Valley body with the knees and elbows molded into the peanut - I totally get why some people prefer them. *I* now prefer them.

@Tippetarius - I cannot brain today; I haz the dumb. Is your IG account the same username?

Cool! I will commence stalking er, following. I'll start following you. I don't post nearly as much as I like, either - particularly since I keep saying I need to practice my photography skills...

 

I have nothing on Instagram, but if you poke my posted photo it should work like a link and take you to my flickr. Which is not as full as it should be. I love my doll army, but never take a lot of photos. I have a goal of slowly getting one nice photo of each of my crew, but that is going to take a while.

As for SID models I swear by them male or female as the nicest posing dolls in my 27 some odd from IH.

I tried a new wig on my oPeach nYID Audrey and find myself quite
crazy about her now. She used to wear a lovely curly black wig but
I just couldn’t warm to her (she’s meant to be Molly Gibson from
Wives&Daughters). So she may need a new character now.

@Sianserais same. That unboxing was super helpful, though - i was considering getting some SIDM jeans, and i like the wide-leg look. And now, I've also fallen in love with the YID Lucia sculpt. (internal monologue be like, "I'm not buying any more dolls. I'm NOT buying any more dolls! ... When is Iplehouse's next sale?")

@Robyn_in_WA that wig is gorgeous! And it looks beautiful on her! Isn't amazing how a change of a wig or eyes can completely change how you see a doll? I'm shaving all my Barbies' heads, I swear.

@Robyn_in_WA boy that wig sure does soften her up and she looks sweet and perfect. Not only is the right wig able to work for a doll but the shade of the color of it is also so important. It totally works for her.

 

@MaleficentMrsofEvil haha...thanks, it's always fun to have others enjoy photos. This can be a rather solitary hobby otherwise, right? Thanks Bren also...

We are in lockdown so have had just a little bit more time to sneak some doll time in so have had a flurry of new photos.

Aaliyah got a turban to wear with the animal print dress. It is nothing too clever - I used soft knit fabric and twisted and hand sewed it in place.

Thank you @LyanneNZ ! I think that my Audrey will be keeping this wig!
It’s an older Amadiz angora wig which arrived (after 6month wait) in a bright
orange color. I was so disappointed. Finally bought some blond hair dye
and re-dyed it - thankfully it worked.

@LyanneNZ - Love the turban on your Aaliyah! It looks like you worked really hard on it!

Thank you @MaleficentMrsofEvil !! I was stunned at the difference this wig made.
I seem to need to keep relearning that lesson - “try different eyes or wig”!!

Thanks @Bren !! Audrey is one of my absolute favorite sculpts. It was hard for
me to understand why I couldn’t warm up to her with the other wig. She’ll find
a new character and hopefully get some outdoor clothing soon too!

Wow!!!! Super!!!!

 

I've been away from the hobby for a while now - something like 3, 4 years? - but I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. You'd be surprised at how quickly you forget how your doll's jointing works!

Wanted to share a photo of my 1930's couple, Vlad and Tracy (Rex and R. Yur, respectively). I don't know if I've ever actually shared a photo of the two of them together.

Are there images of the Iplehouse sculpts with all the makeup options? In the drop down box for most of the girls 4 make up options are listed by the website only gives photos of one to two looks and they aren't all labeled. How do I know which faceup I'm ordering?

 

Which ones are you looking at specifically? Most of the ones I just checked have two options specific to the sculpt, but you can order pretty much any of them if you go custom.

Edit: For example, Stella has 3 options, and the photos are split into three sections for them. Look for the gray lettering marking the sections between photos.

 

It's a bit of a hunt and peck to find the faceups. In some places, you can see the different faceups by looking at the doll in the sculpt you want. You have to wait for the page to load to see all of the pictures. Sometimes, you can see the faceups in doll choice, but not often. Other times, you have to hunt around in the limited section (especially for HID Aaliyah, in my experience).
Not the easiest, but if you spend some time on the website, eventually, you'll see. Also, you can go to the support tab and just ask.

 

Theres a broken link (i think) for how the new bodies pose.. i have a very old girl ans she has all days been horrible at posing. been considering buying a new iple girl, but if the posing is just as bad then i'd look to a different company for the body. Anyone who can help here?

 

I'm so happy that Iplehouse decided to release a YID size Mari, she's my all time grail female doll. I put her on layaway yesterday, I'm so excited!

 

Curious if anyone else is planning to order Mari or have recently order her? I would love to hitch a ride with your order to get that lovely outfit.

 

I really love nsid body. But I'm not playing a lot with my harace on nsid body. Anyway she is very good on posing. I think so I have few photos on my flickr of her . And I just ordered 10 wigs of monique from ebay for 30£ its so cheap

 

Finally, my poor Eirik has a wig! The hairline looks strangely high at the moment, but that's because I'm going to paint tattoos and stubble onto the sides.

Can I drop by with a new photo of Taylor? I recently trimmed and restyled this inexpensive Taobao wig; the bangs were too long and a mess, anyway, so I figured why not. Pretty happy with how it looks, even if I didn't realize it had went a little crooked until after I shot this (the fit is still a little loose and even with anti slip tape on her head cap Not sure what else to do.)

I finished another wig! This time it's for Jack. I'm not wholly happy with how the part turned out, but eh, it'll do for now untiI get sick of it. I am desperately hoping for some nice weather on the weekends soon because I want to paint my dolls. So far the best weather has only been on days I'm at work!

@Khlovera - Aww, thank you! He's actually in dark brown, but my phone camera washes him out really badly. I fell in love with this sculpt way back when he was first released but only managed to order him last year! I adore everything about this sculpt.

No, even the comparison photos on Iplehouse's site show minimal difference, but it doesn't really matter. He's extremely handsome and I'm super happy with how he's working out for me so far, so that's excellent for me!

 

Did anyone else notice that there are sculpts suddenly missing from Doll Choice?? I went to look at placing an order for an SID Man, and Alberto was missing! I was finally ready!

I am just in shock because Iplehouse usually is good about announcing what is being discontinued, like how they just posted about no longer offering hand blushing.

I hope maybe they are just limiting sculpt availability during the Winter Event for some reason. I do have an inquiry in, but right now my spirit is crushed.

 

I wonder if something happened to his casting mold? I'm not seeing anyone else missing though they have Dane listed twice so one of him might be meant to be Dean? Someone should poke the Q&A board about the missing head and the double of one.

 

@Miss_Pygmalion - A few of us were just talking about this in the WR thread, yeah. Not amused that they didn't give us any warning or explanation so far. And perhaps the oddest fact is that they removed Bella and Elle, even though they're currently available through the Limited section.

 

I do have an ask in about Alberto, specifically.

I also seem to recall that until recently, you could mix and match a bit more in DC?? Like, you could get SID men on EID lady bodies, for example. Because I had previously put out inquiries in other places about a possible joint order if someone wanted a body, and the SID man head had several body options.

 

Well... I got a reply.

We thank you for loving our dolls so much. We hope we could fix the mold tool and keep making some dolls, but it's too hard to keep the old mold tools in our manufacture team since there is no many orders.

Sounds like they decided to retire some molds without any notice. My heart is broken.

 

Damn, I'd hope to get him one day myself too.

 

That's such a really bad news to us...We don't even have time to do a last chance order...
It's weird as we can still order Claude as sid man but couldn't have him available via DC with EID,HID woman body anymore, that's strange...
And...Barahan is gone

 

I do understand that silicone molds do deteriorate over time... but this still feels a bit out of character for Iplehouse. They've been very good about announcing things like this in the past.
Even if they did it without an opportunity to order at the last minute, a Notice would have been nice.

"It is with great regret we must tell you that some of our molds are no longer usable. We are removing the following sculpts from our site immediately. We are sorry, it can no longer be ordered."

Something to that effect. While sad, at least it wouldn't have blindsided us when we went to look for them and found them gone.

 

Hello all! Has anyone ordered an Ebony skin doll during the holiday event? I wanted to as it states it’s available but there’s no drop down option for Ebony.
I’m confused!

 

by the way.. do they stop making FID size anymore?

 

I still don't understand the logic of having Doll Choice in HID female size and yet no HID female sculpts are offered? The Limited Versions are rarely offered...so what about all the other times? You are not able to get a HID female in say LB resin?

And if you wanted a HID female as an EID or SID...nope...not offered.

The HID men are still offered in DC....So it just isn't logical.

So. . . Dane is tempting me. . . . I need help T__T. I am SO gonna go over budget on this.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen lol. Also, why does he make such a good werewolf? Like I'm pretty sure there's a couple other people who have werewolf characters they shelled with him. Mine's gonna be one too . . which is why I need to get both the fantasy head and the regular head. . this is why I'm going over budget.

 

He makes a lot of good fantasy things, for that matter. My "Warrrior Dane" I made into a PC of mine from VtM Gideon, he's a jazz singer and a vampire. Mean while my fantasy/vampire Dane I made into a Fairy Prince I named Roxest.

They're both so freaking beautiful. I think he's got a good bone structure for non-human even without the fantasy head going on. How do you like the Model body?

 

I agree about the bone structure thing, like I feel even mouth shut Gideon still could have fangs based on jaw and lip shapes. /shrug

To be honest I love the new SID model boys and girls, I never want to go back to the other bodies again. The model ones have spoiled me. Now I do still love all my YIDs, EIDs, so forth and so on, but when it comes to getting new IH dolls it's new models from now on all the way. If you check my dolls I own list here all my SIDs, save for my first one are on the model bods.
As much as I adore EID Ron and want one, in truth I will never get a second EID male. It's not about size, but posing issues for that body style. Same for the old SID males. YIDs if the right new mold comes out I might buy, but otherwise sticking to SID models or pass as a rule for IH. (Kinda helps me keep the wallet from crying, kinda)
