I was surprised to see that she started shipping after so little time, but then I scrolled back and saw she was one of those surprise bag releases Must have been a very happy surprise for you, shes beautiful! Makes the wait for her a little more easier to see the photos you have posted, Xena looks really nice and I would like to see how you will have her (or him) completed

@Quiet and Insane is it bad to say that Im a little disappointed? I was excited when I saw the teaser, and thought maybe it was a vampire Gabriel like they did with that Dark Lord Enoch, was looking for ways to finance getting Gabriel with fangs and potentially elf ears, but he's regular Gabriel with a Halloween faceup. He looks nice, but its a pass for me....!

 

I didn't see it before but Jane does look rather boyish. Looks distinctly like a lot of timid adolescent boys in anime.

 

Jane would make a cute boy. I'm glad that none of the dolls coming out right now speak to me. I can't afford to have any speak to me. I agree though that it would've been cool to see a Gabriel with pointy ears and fangs. The face-up is very nicely done though.

 

Does anyone have pictures of Napoleon? Possibly on a non-Granado body.

 

@GreenTeaSlug - Fair enough then. I thought it might be a exciting re-release for anyone interested in him or hadn't considered his sinister side.

@MrFjmg2003 - Sometimes that's really all it takes to fall in love with a doll and have it click for you.

 

@Quiet and Insane I want to laugh.... I actually love this release now that Ive let it simmer a bit

I might be getting him in grey with that faceup, but Im waiting for my dealer to get back to me if hes also getting that neck paint job... lol, what is willpower? To think that I came into the hobby with the intent of getting one doll only ugh

One thing I dont understand is why the dolls on Granado's official website have a set release date, but their dealers and taobao website have them available year round

 

@GreenTeaSlug I think a lot of us got into this hobby with the idea that we'd have only one or two dolls. I thought I'd have only 2 (Moswen & Kijika). I now own 62. Fine, it took me 11 years to amass that many but still.

If Granado were to do another crowdfund with some of the sculpts like Gabriel or Enoch I think I'd be in trouble. The 53cm size is my new fav BJD size and to have one of those bigger boys in the SD fun-size format....

@GreenTeaSlug I believe the availability (or lack thereof) is due to the process of international shipping. Taobao and dealers are closer, if not local, and shipping a bunch of dolls to a dealer close(ish) by is way less of a hassle than handling individual international orders.

I definitely thought I'd only ever get one doll...then exactly a month after my first one arrived I bought a second. Willpower indeed!

 

@MrFjmg2003 Someone in my local doll group has a Vindoll and they are pretty freaking amazing. Just the difference in weight of the doll is surprising. They are tempting but fortunately nobody is piping up that they are any of the sculpts. I'm not counting on that being a long-lasting thing though.

 

Can anyone post or link to owner photos of Raguel with company faceup, either A or B (or both versions if possible)? Thank you.

 

I saved saved and finally put in my order for a Vigor body! So happy and rather proud of myself for patiently putting the money away. Now to sit and wait till the shipment notice.

What do you all think of the new Zen body?

Crocus seems to be really busy this year, so many new body sculpts..... I like the new thinner body, or what I see of it so far, and it looks like Zen might be Jane's brother or relative because theres a familiar resemblance there

 

I am sorely tempted by the teasers of the Zen body. I want to upgrade some of my boy's bodies and this one looks like a great one but I'll have to wait and see. The Vigor is just too big, I'm hoping the Zen may be a bit shorter too but it's the slenderness of the body I like.

 

I'm curious to see the body, too. I really like the looks of the hands. And the head is beautiful. I think I need to back away slowly and not make eye contact.

 

I'm very curious about the Zen body too. It looks really elegant, though a touch Doll Chateau-ish. But I'm definitely keen to see more.

 

Man, I'm so tired of all these teasers. I wish companies would just do a reveal, and not force me to have to be patient. xD

@Quiet and Insane Yeah, from what we can see so far it does look a little DC/DZ-ish especially with DZ's new collaboration doll announcement. But, that's perfectly fine with me. I was just mentioning to someone else that I was kind of starting to lament the trend towards taller more beefy male bodies. It was starting to feel like most of the more slender bodies were in the low to mid 60cm range, and not much in the 65+ range. So, if this body ends up being between 66 and 70cm then that just gives me more options. The head is also nice looking.

 

As long as the new guy isn't a short(er) SD in the 50-ish range, I'm safe since that seems to destroy my self-control effortlessly.

Speaking of DZ, have you guys seen that they're doing a special purple resin run right now?

I really love the body shape but Im burnt out this year + I want to see and compare with the new DollZone body lol
Hes a lot more muscular than I expected, very lean. I imagined he would be on the softer side, but still, it looks great

Wow. The body looks really good. They almost caught me by offering a 30cm option. Whew, dodged a bullet there.

 

@Cloudedmind - To be honest, I adore the beefy boys, but I'm starting to just really want some tall, slim guys with not much in the way of muscles. Sort of your average guy kind of body rather than a bodybuilder. But definitely in the 70 cm ballpark for me.

Oooh thank you @GreenTeaSlug! I love, love, LOVE those hands! And he's 70 cm! Though I wish he had less defined abs. That and the slight clunkiness of the chest joint have thrown me off. Buggerit.

 

@Quiet and Insane I like them to, but a lot of my current floating heads were originally made back when there were less really beefy bodies, and more slender male bodies. The new Granado body could still work for me, but I agree with you that I wish the stomach muscles were on the softer side. I do hope we get clearer full body pictures from Granado though.

I love the slender ball jointed hands, those are what is most tempting.
I was surprised to see the muscle definition, too much, I wanted a soft belly too.

 

-stumbles in- Hello.. Nice to meet everyone in this thread! I just caved and put an Enoch on layaway through LegendDolls.

I'd been debating over vinyl and resin and ultimately resin won out. I hope I made the right decision! I'm gonna love him to pieces either way!

Also that new Zen body is really beautiful..... Is anyone thinking of getting him?

 

I actually am tempted to get him in tan skin with jointed hands.

Is it easy to get layaway through legend doll?

 

@almosthuman That's the exact boy I got. Tan with jointed hands! They allow up to a 6 month layaway with 40% payment up front!

 

Oh gee. Who I meant was the Zen boy. He's the one I want. But I'm sure Enoch will look gorgeous in Tan! I hope to see yours soon.

I did review their feedback here in DOA and I might just cave in after a few more thoughts. I haven't had any SDs in a while, and this might be my first Granado doll.

 

I wonder if they will do a crowd funding for smaller scale. I'd love a friend for my 44cm Napoleon.

I've gotten clothes and accessories from Legend a number of times. They're great!

 

If they do a crowdfund for the 53cm I may be doomed because I really like that face and the Zen body is beautiful.

I'm glad for my wallet that the new Zen body is 70cm.
On the other hand, that slender lanky frame would be so perfect for my 62cm boy.

 

@Cloudedmind - Ohhhh I would utterly adore a soft 70 cm boy. Like...I love all the curvy women doll makers have been coming out with, but give me a thicc guy and I would sell my soul.

@Jany thank you for that explanation! It makes perfect sense that they have those windows for international shipping. I really like Jane and her body shape, so Im very curious how she will look in comparison with the other realistic dolls. I recently got a Miracle doll 65 woman and her body shape is beautiful and very natural - but that ankle design is horrible, its a sphere so it wobbles all over the place.

@Quiet and Insane have you seen @Tsuyu 's doll on their instagram dollnoize? I would love to one day get it in tan. Currently they have only made a big MSD version, but they would consider making a big version if theres enough demand, if it interests you, please let them know because I personally would love to get one in a bigger scale!

About the Zen body, I love everything but the very washboard abs. I think maybe its the blushing that makes it look more severe than it really is. Only thing that would make it cooler to me is if he came with high heel feet. Granado heads are pretty small, so I wonder if their older heads like Enoch would fit that body. I have one in bronze that I think would look nice on that body

 

I'm really intrigued by an Idealian75 outfit that just came out... can anyone tell me how well Idealian75 shares clothes with Granado Evol/Embody?

 

I'm so glad Granado has another non-muscle body. The abs are a bit much, but maybe if not blushed and lighted differently they wouldn't be so obvious?

I'm tempted... but already have too many dolls!

@kagami - He's very much blank at the moment unfortunately. If all goes to plan he'll get a body next year. Doll Chateau's discontinuation event robbed him of his body this year. Poor guy.

@GreenTeaSlug - I have!! He's sooooo gorgeous and if he were available in SD I'd love to have him as an alternate head for my Enoch. That way I wouldn't have to mod him quite so much...all he'd need is horns. Would I just send them a DM?

@Quiet and Insane I thought I'd only have 2 because of the cost of them. But I was sent the free head in the wrong colour and when I got the right colour, the character refused to be shelled in that sculpt so I had to look for another. When I stopped trying to force the one character into that sculpt, another character piped up that it was him and now to please be finding him his husband. And their children. And while looking for said husband I saw another sculpt that screamed out who he was and since it was limited it was buy now or regret forever so I bought him. And now he needed his partner. And thus the vicious cycle began to endlessly repeat itself.

Goes to show how bad my resin addiction is that I'm not even mad about it. Or that I've aided and abetted others in their addiction by either buying resin for them or linking them to sales for dolls that I know they've been searching for.

@Quiet and Insane I went to the grand opening of a local doll store and I felt personally attacked when the owner offered to make me a deal on 2 gorgeous dolls she had for sale in the shop, one of them being a Granado Lucifer 30cm boy in tan (the other was also 30cm and they would make a lovely couple, damn it!). After seeing him when I first walked in, I refused to look at him the rest of my time there because I am weak against resin in general and my will power is more flimsy than a wet paper bag when coloured resin (or fantasy parts) is involved. I left the store without buying him but I thought about him (and his potential partner) all damn night.

I firmly believe we're all enablers.

 

I can't speak to the falling to temptation thing, as I'm pretty particular with who/how I collect bjds for my crew. I can see why it can be almost addictive for people though

I've finished up my Galileo boy, but I sorely need to set up a photoshoot with him. I've just either not been motivated or had the proper setup to get it done. On a note related to the sculpt: in regards to that new boy released, Zen...does anyone else think he looks like Galileo? Is it just me? The body looks nice, awesome to see more slender options being released...but I'm not taking the bait. He's too short for any possible characters he might work for, and the shoulder width's...kind of narrow for my tastes.

Yep. If I was motivated enough (and the weather was pleasant) I could walk there (it's roughly 3.5km from my house). It's not a big store but they've got a decent selection of clothes (more will be in-coming but their shipment got delayed), shoes, eyes, accessories and also have some dolls on commission as well as brand new dolls. I bought a wig, several silicone wig caps, some stockings and 2 outfits. My wallet will probably hate this store with a passion.

Anything you want to try on your doll is encouraged, too. While I brought a doll and 2 heads with me looking for wigs for all of them and only found 1, I did find out that the one head will require some sort of mod to his off-the-shelf wig because of his odd-ish head size and ears, so that was sort of good news-ish.

 

Is granado new normal a yellow, pink, or neutral colour?

 

The new normal is more pinkish. Not too far off Ringdoll normal, or Dollshe Oriental (I think).

 

@Iron_Dog - I am rather jealous! Would be great to wander in and try wigs and clothes (especially shoes and pants!!) rather than buying them and waiting only to find out they don't fit.

@jade-eyed-cat & @xyuemoto - Dollshe Oriental is more on the yellowish side and would not work. Ringdoll normal matches Granado white exactly.

 

@Quiet and Insane One of the things the shop owner wants people to know is that it's okay to take stuff out of the package to try on your dolls because as we all know, "Standard sizes? We don't need no stinkin' standard sizes. We laugh in your face at standard sizes."

I think I've bought 6 pairs of boots for Khale (Leeke muscle body) and only 1 pair fit because he's got ginormous feet and that includes some supposed "uncle" sized boots. Shoes are the bane of my doll life and the majority of my boys are shoeless because my wallet can't take the frustration/disappointment of buying something and it not fitting.

@Quiet and Insane - Thank you. Would you say granado white is actually a normal colour then? Would white or new normal better for generally matching other non yellow normal resin? I'm starting to think I might have picked the wrong colour for the head I ordered...

 

I wanted to get an auburn wig for Seth (Galileo) but I tried this blue wig on for fun but he looks great in it. I think he likes it.
