AnchixDPx- That color will work for me for the body I currently have here now, going to make a hybrid after all! Now the choice between Davon or Katrien?

 

Wow! You really found the perfect wig for him, AnchixDPx! He's gonna look sooo good. Gotta love dem freckles~ XD

A little Shori (Xavier) to welcome us to the new thread (it feels like we had only just started the last thread.... =_=" ). He was about to be changed into his new suit when I realised that I hadn't actually had a proper photo shoot of him in this suit. Figured I had better rectify that. Sho doesn't get nearly enough camera time, anyways.

 

I'll order Davon tomorrow, it is such a hard choice, but will be worth it in the end. I hope I can get Katrien later this month if all goes well

 

Anchix I really like that character. Charles looks like he might take a 10 mm ...is that true?
Kirika SQUEE for Sho...I am hoping that I can get Coppersmith to look half as good...and get him to accept one of the wigs I have for him. Sho looks so good in a suit; he was the one that pushed me over the edge after drooling over Jo's sunshine boy.

 

Coppersmith is gonna look yummy~ *daydreams* Very few of my boys have actually stuck with the initial wig I have picked out for them though - I wish you the best on that front, fishcake! Sho is the only boy I've got that wears a suit, but he'd look so much better in them if I got my act together and finally ordered him the 68cm long legged body. The nuevo body's thicker chest tends to fill out his suits a little too much - the slimmer chest of the 68cm body fits them perfectly. ^^ Still love the way he manages to pull off his formal wear, though.

kirika, all your boys are brilliant, but I can't help loving a suit-wearing man! That must make Sho my favourite, even if he is ever so slightly less flamboyant than his siblings... I love love love the colour scheme of his hair, tie and shirt with the classic suit. Just wonderful.

fishcake, I am quite convinced Florie would look good in anything (just as, frankly, she looks good in nothing too :p), but I'm not sure she would feel at ease in designer clothes. That seems more Kundry's style . Florie has the simplest tastes of all my ladies. That said, if I could find a pink Chanel ensemble to go with Florie's Granado face-up, I'm not sure I'd be able to resist... *grins*

mdonline, I'm sorry, you can't count on me to dissuade you from buying Granado XD! I love my Flo, and bought a second Sidonia head to, basically, have a spare in case anything ever happens to her head. Granado sculpts are ... well, they are just unique! Once a Granado sculpt sticks to a character, you just know you won't ever be able to replace it by another doll. There is something unconventional about them that makes them quite irresistible. Florie is the least conventionally pretty of my girls, but there is something about her that just ... adorable? Also, it is somehow quite impossible to take a bad photograph of a Granado doll. So, um, I'd say, "go for it!"

 

Kirika Just as you said, I bought a couple of SD17 shirts from ebay and they do fit the old-style 68 chest perfectly; I didn't try it on the Nuevo because I was afraid I couldn't get his arms out again.
Sigune I think your alternate Florie would look adorable in a little pink box jacket and pencil skirt!

Hey guys...have any of you ever reached out to Granado for a series of specific measurements that aren't provided on the website? I'm trying to have something custom made for little Sam (Terra) and the measurements on the website aren't enough.

 

I haven't, mdonline03, but since Granado practically trip over themselves to help a person out, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to ask. ^.^

I know what you mean.... Granado sculpts have such a draw to them - it makes them so hard to resist. You can't stop at just one~ XD

And thank you! Sho may not slather his face with make-up the way many of my other boys do, but he certainly does manage to stand out from the crowd - probably because of exactly that! I got lucky with his choice of wig though - that colour matches everything! That, with the neutral colours of his face-up, making dressing him so much easier than dressing others in my crew. u.u"

No kidding! You should have seen the trouble I had peeling (yes, peeling) Shori out of that suit he was in during the photo shoot. It was so tight across his shoulders and back that it had practically fused itself to him. XD What a difference that little extra girth can make.

S/he didn't mention how long it would take to make the pants you commissioned, did they? I really liked their design, so I wanna see how they come out~ Hope you hear from them soon!

It was also great taking some photos of Sho again after such a long time. He's so easy to shoot, and his photos always turn out so well - but then, that's a Granado sculpt for you. ^^

Ah! If I were going to be assigning job descriptions to my boys 'lawyer' would likely be what Sho would turn into~ It seems to fit. Heh. Maybe not with that hair of his, though....

 

May I ask you where did you find those magnificent eyeglasses? I'm literally going mad in searching frameless glasses like this but it seems like they're hiding from me ç_ç

Sigune - Oh why won't someone dissuade me? It's bad enough I've crumbled as often as I have...but there is something that just gets under my skin about them. I swear I see something new in them every time. But that's so smart about buying extra heads! I've had thoughts about damages and them being irreplaceable, especially the limited items. Something I should consider...So glad to see Florie over here in thread 6. Something about her is so refreshing.

Part 6 Already!? Great, It's happy that Granado is very popular on DoA. Recently I keep away from my computer but I must come this thread when I am online.

No kidding! I was looking for aaaaages before I tripped over this pair... You wouldn't think it would be quite so hard to find such a simple-looking pair of glasses. I found these at Tatas Paradise - after clicking through about 14 pages of their accessories. =_="

Lol the pun~ Sho looks gorgeous in his new suit, so I will have to pull another photo shoot together with him. It'd be too hard to resist~ I hope I can get his new body soon, so these suits sit on him a little better though. His current body will go to the next Granado head that finds its way to my place, I guess.

Geh. Really? *facepalm* They sell out quick at Tatas. On the up side though, Tatas seem to get new glasses in rather regularly, so be sure to keep an eye out.

Too bad... Maybe you'll be able to find a way to squeeze them on (though I have to agree that the SD17 size would have been a safer bet ). I managed to stretch an SD13-sized T-shirt over the nuevo body's bulging biceps, after all. ^^ Luck!

Aw, that's a shame. Extra waits are tough. Do you know the typical wait times for your artist? Aren't most about a two to three week turn around time? If that's the case, at least you know you'll have him back in hand within the month.

 

Where many of my resins barely stand my Granado Boyd not only stands but can hold another doll over his shoulder. Pretty sweet! I was pleased I was able to get such a shot completely unassisted. I thought I'd share and brag about Granado a little bit.

No, they're not doing anything bad/wrong/violent/illegal, and/or otherwise untoward. It's just your average crime-fighting duo carting off a naughty, unconscious fairy. He'll be fine, especially once they realize they're idiots and have the wrong guy. LOL

Wovenwuff, Granados are fantastic posers. ^.^ They have a nice weight to them and great overall balance. Their joints are stiff enough to hold just about any position you pull them into - and Granado are nice enough to ship them with kips for added traction. Of all my dolls, the Granado boys in my crew are by far the best posers.

Thank you!!! posing is very important, enough so that it is one of the major decision makers for me ^^ so its really very awesome to know that they are not only good posers but the best out of your crew. I am hoping to hybrid and blush tan an elfdoll vivien head onto a 64cm sunshine body.

I am confused about one thing though, do the 64cm boys have an option to come with jointed hands? on the bodies order page it has an option to add B.J hands for $100, are these jointed or another type of hand?

Yup, they're jointed hands! If you don't choose the B.J hands option, your boy will only come with the standard resin hands. The jointed hands are great posers too, by the way. XD And they have some good strength to them - my b.j. hands will hold anything from a cigarette to a metal katana with no effort.

(I really like the Vivien sculpt - be sure to post some pics if you do go through with the hybrid! I'd be interested in seeing how it works out~ )

 

Yesssss... Granado is amazing. It is the engineering. Everything about the weight and joint design combine for an incredible posing experience. Meanwhile, Abe (my OT Resinsoul whom I love) leans against the couch. LOL Poor guy can barely stand up much less hold a pose.

The guy in my pic is the very first one they sold (that I know of). It's the 64cm Boyd and he came with those hands free. It was just their limited deal though, they're $100 now. Best jointed hands I've ever gotten to work with, too. The finger tension is strung separately from the arm/wrist so the overall pull of the inner body doesn't also pull the fingers. My other doll, Doll Leaves, has fingers that are all connected with the arms and he's always making a tight fist.

You can get regular or jointed hands, your choice. Honestly I think $100 is borderline high for jointed hands but again, it's Granado's engineering so you know you're getting top of the line stuff.

 

hah! im so very exited now XD thank you both for all the info! hopefully when the 1st comes around, ill be all set and ready to get my body jointed hands have been a dream of mine for ever so to finally be able to get a pair is wonderful ^^ $100 is $100 i guess, option hands are a weakness of mine so i dont mind. Jointed is way better

lol resinsoul, poor things cant do much - i strung mine super tight with thick string and he managed not to kick me in the gut anymore :P he has since retired to a friends couch very very far away lol

oh! do they have events often or once in a blue moon (there is one going atm)

Your boy definitely will come with normal hands, even if you order him with jointed ones, so no problems there. Jointed hands are just a lovely added extra - so much fun to play with! ^^ And lately Granado have been holding events around major holidays (New Years, Christmas, Halloween - and Golden Week, this time). Their biggest event tends to be their anniversary, where you have the opportunity to order previously released limited sculpts. Unfortunately though, that has already passed for this year.

 

ahh, cool ^^ well, i wont be waiting for their next event to order anyway. i would order right now if i could but ill have to wait another 3 weeks, which isnt /to/ bad. and i am just shocked how far they have come! the last time i had a peak at their sit, they had just opened and only had boyd and one body.

I'm inclined to think that Crocus designs new sculpts in his sleep. He just never seems to stop! My shelves are beginning to groan under the weight of all his new releases... :3

Isn't that mini body fantastic?! Ikaru (Granado's rep) mentioned in the Mini Discussion thread that Crocus has no current plans for releasing a female msd body this year, though... It took him a year to perfect the boy's body, so you'd expect similar for any female body he may create in the future. I really like how flexible that body looks! You just know it's going to be quality. I can't wait to bring Terra home to join my crew~ He and Sidonia (whom I shall transform into a male ^^ ) are the next on my Granado shopping list.

(And of course shirtless always goes over well here - all that resin eye-candy is enough to make anyone drool!)

Iv decided that my little girl can have a boy body, at least for now >D she is suppose to be young and flat chested anyway and no one will know she has a boy body apart from me anyway so you know :P

Heh. I rather regret not getting them when they were free. I had forgotten that the first set of jointed hands came as default with the body.

Ah, yeah... I've seen people all over the place whose hobby-lives have ground to a halt for exams these last two weeks, so you're probably right. It'd still be nice to have some kind of an indication about her expected time frame, though. At least you have an idea about his pants now! Hopefully things will pick up all around once the hell of exams is over and done with (god, but I'm glad that sort of thing is behind me... DX )
