Granado has created a wonderful new girl body which called "Female body nevuo". Her page is here: http://doll-granado.com/fbody_nuevo And they have a pre-order discount from 19 JAN to 23 FEB, 300USD per new body. (original price : 370USD) It is like their 1st release of Boyd with the prototype only. .........I am wondering why the new body comes first (Faster than Taya! LoL).
Wow! That's a huge leap from the 62cm body! He learns fast! It's too bad that new hands and feet couldn't be presented with it. The old ones don't look agile enough to go with that leaner musculature. Spectacular improvement in the direction of realism overall though!
~melts~ That improvement on the hip and waist is really something! Crocus really is one of the most talented sculptors I've ever seen.
Absolutely beautiful, as I already wrote in the general Granado thread, I think the new body is an huge improvement looking so much better in the waist and hip region. Now I'm curious whether I'll have enough money by February so I can order her, because I still need a female body for one of my floating head here.
I don't have plan for a 1/3 girl but after seeing this girl's moment....o.o I need to research on resin match and maybe rethink things once again!
I totally agree with you. He can make dolls in a short period of time and each doll is beautifully made
That's me right now... I really hope I can get a new job or sell some things to have the money for this body > A<
I'm really hoping they would release her in suntan.....I guess they won't I'm not sure I like her hip joints. I can tell they only swivel front to back and not side to side due to the hidden jointing system which as I suspected would be hinged toward the inside of the joint leaving her with only one plane of motion. In order to get her to have a wide stance you need to bend her legs at the thigh joint instead of the hip joint. Hrm....
Ack, I was hoping she wouldn't be ready so soon. But she's so perfect, I have to get her. Crocus Lee has outdone himself!
I actually preferred the older, more stereotypically "feminine" body. This new one is thicker-waisted with smaller breasts. =( The mobility is amazing, but looks-wise the original is superior in my opinion.
LOL - my feelings are the exact opposite of yours, Suzuna XD. I adore the smaller breasts and thicker waist! If anything, I wish she were a liiittle bit taller, but her height shouldn't be much of an impediment. What a lovely body!
I agree with Sigune. The new body is much more realistic while the older body looked more doll like. The waist to hip area looked weirdly conical with the waist line being too sharp. The one thing is that I would have preferred more traditional ball joints in the hip area.
that's a very nice female body! the only thing is bothering me is the knee joint. i dislike that kind of joint; it ruins the aesthetics.
There is no mention of discontinuing the 62cm. It's good to have a choice. I like the head they have on the nuevo body. I wonder if that is Taya. It would be nice to be given the body option for her but I can just order the head by itself too.
I believe the head on the nuevo body is Sidonia. Ugh. I am TORN. I like elements of both bodies. My Sidonia is due to be shipped out in the next couple of days. I love the breasts and butt on the old one, but the belly, hips, hands, and pubis of the new one. the new one looks waaay more realistic to me, but the old one is the only body I've seen that has a "corseted" shape. Maybe Sidonia needs two bodies - one for in clothes and one out. :P
Augh...thanks for letting me know. Now I feel like I have to get Sidonia.... I like the old body just fine but the waist area looks very unrealistic to me even for a corsetted shape. I much prefer the look of a LoongSoul body if I were going to make a corsetted doll. Maybe It's because the old Granado girl body has a super low waist and I prefer it to be more towards the middle of the torso. EDIT: Looking at it further, that is exactly why I don't like the old girl body. The waist line is way too low and throws the propotions off. The shoulders are a bit wide too given the hip width. Overall just a bit drag queen looking with the low waist. She also has kind of thick ankles. EDIT2: I like the breast size of the Nuevo but I also hope that Granado will have a bust size choice in the future. Nothing too large but just a bit bigger for a lusher character would be nice even tho I generally like small bust.
does anyone know where can I find a skin tone comparisons or descriptions with which companies head it will fit?
I also hope that Granado will release the breasts size choices. I like small breasts better but big ones are not bad.
I was blown away by the natural looks of this new body! If only I could know what matches their WS....
As i remember, their WS is in "cream white" tone, similar to Volks white. But I am not sure about that.
Sidonia in person looks more natural than in her photos, especially with clothes on. She does have a long waist and sturdy ankles, but in person she looks more "athletic tomboy" than "drag queen". I was pleasantly surprised by her. Maybe we need to start a Granado resin matching thread, or is there one already?
Invie I agree with you on the hip joint. I love the look of the hip joint, but I'll take a regular ball joint over a strange bend in the thigh every time. To me she is almost perfect for a natural athletic girl, but the hip joint is a deal breaker. I do love realism and mobility, but in some of the pics she looks like she has a very painful broken leg. I would so get this body for my June, (who is a spy-action oriented girl and would wear a black catsuit). But I would want all the mobility of a ball and socket hip joint like a real human has. The rest of the body is fantastic--I'd love to see her with jointed hands too. It seems odd though, if her purpose is mobility and realism, then why the hinge style hip joint? They should leave that for the more fashion-doll, SD16 type body with high heel feet/legs--female body #3. Oh well, it's not like we get to vote before production or anything. But jeez, almost perfect!
I search for a long time but i can't found any Granado resin matching thread, maybe we can start one?
IT's true. Almost perfect. I will still get her and see if I can mod her a bit so her hip joint works a bit better. I don't like the broken leg line but I will see if she looks better clothed.
I started a new one here : http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?496010-Color-comparison-of-GRANADO-to-ALL-companies I am interested to see all color comparison form GRANADO to other companies too.
Those are my thoughts exactly! Oh, for an extra centimetre ot so, but otherwise I think she is amazing. She is going to be such a pleasure to make clothes for!
This body is lovely! I have a floating head, but she's Aria doll and might be a little young looking, though the smaller breasts help. The head is big enough-I've put it on a Supergem girl body for kicks and it can take a bigger body. Has anyone done resin matching with Granado? My head is WS, though slightly pinky white rather than paper white.
Thanks for starting a comparison thread, yeren! I need to take some photos for it. The hip most likely has a stringing slot hidden in the socket, like Unoa, so it should have mobility to the side as well as front. Depends on how it's made, but I suppose we'll all be finding out in a couple of months. Sidonia's thigh joint is very good-fitting and stable. It never pops out on its own. Half the time I forget it's there!
Can't wait for the comparison pictures! I am very curious about why there are no holes on the hip joints, it looks really beautiful and magical.
I don't think the hip can move side to side. You can see in the posing photos that the thigh joint is where the legs splay outwards. If the hip joint could pose side to side I don't think they would give her such an odd pose. I believe the lihmwa EOS body does the same thing. Odd but that's how they chose to eliminate the joint slot. Looking at photos for the 43cm girl body from dear mine and the new kid body from Souldoll, this is the new trend. I think the new souldoll joints might have more mobility than the others but in all the photos of this new kind of joint, the legs don't seem to be able to spread very far. Not even shoulder width so that the most normal pose they can get into if you don't utilize the thigh joint is with the feet one in front of the other as if taking a step.
like i've said before, a perfect doll would be beautiful, stable and has great mobility. IMO Crocus is a very good sculptor, they do take our comments seriously and he has made significant improvement in his dolls. Actually I don't care all that much about the hip joint, since I'll dress her up anyways. What I like most is her natural form and posability I think this body is a lot better than her predecessors, she has much flexibility in posing. Her potential is what I love most
I do care quite a bit about a hip joint--it's a great feature of ball jointed dolls. I'm a long time fashion doll collector and have many dolls with limitations on mobility--and especially this particular joint. I do not like the idea of eliminating the "ball" in ball jointed dolls--it seems like an unnecessary step backwards. Truly, I do not get it. Aesthetically, the knee joint is not so gorgeous to look at so why sacrifice the functionality of a true ball-jointed hip for something prettier to look at? Why this one joint? It seems arbitrary in a way. This is really kind of odd because so many of the fashion dolls have gone to a fully rotational hip joint and more ball-jointed like features than ever before. I'll wait and see how she works before I order a body. I do like the rest of the body very, very much, but I am curious to see how she poses and what Invie comes up with for modifications to the hip joint. I know I am picky--even more so after selling so many dolls because I find one I like more or because of improved functionality. I've learned to wait for dolls that I feel are very special. I kinda know by now what is going to bug me about a sculpt.
Prompto, I don't think she is dissing anyone. She is stating her views. As I had also mentioned there are at least three other companies who are making this kind of hip joint. Lihmwa, Dear Mine and Souldoll. Anyone familiar with the new bodies from these companies know how beautiful the sculpt is. However the limited movement isn't something I like. I agree with what she is saying and if we don't talk about our views how do the companies and sculptors know what their audience likes? I don't think Crocus would feel like he's being dissed. We also aren't required to like everything from an artist even if we think they are talented. EDIT: This kind of feedback also doesn't say his work is ugly. They are just saying that the decision he made wasn't the best so the feedback is actually quite valuable to an artist. Only listening to praise won't help someone grow.
I ordered mine too! This time I took layaway and will make full payment before March. I can't wait for her...
I hope i can order her in this month, she is so beautiful. I also hope that they can release a VIP head for this body too. I like their VIP series.
I plan to order mine in February. Squee! I'm excited about it already XD. This will be my first non-Dollzone body. Heh.
I am looking forward to all the upcoming owner pics of the new bod! I know I can be critical and I don't mean to offend at all. I work as a designer myself and over the years I have learned to be very critical of my own work too--not just other peoples. I do like the looks of the new hip joint, but ultimately it's very fashion-doll in nature. It's the contradiction I don't understand the rationale for. A beautiful hip joint with limited mobility compensated for by a very unattractive wounded-looking-leg thigh joint. IMHO, it would have been better to finish this body as a regular ball joint doll since the rest of her is so athletic and poseable and very real and alive looking and leave the glamour doll body (take a look at Infiniti doll) for the next body. The girl with high-heel feet, no ankle joint and bigger boobies too They're really two different bodies for different purposes. Regarding the knee joint. In general, double-jointed joints are not that aestheticlly pleasing, but the functionality is fantastic--so, I look for the a nice compromise when I can. I have seen some that look like a brick in the middle of the doll's leg and I avoid those. I did not mean that Crocus knee joints are not very well designed--he did an excellent job in fact. I just wish this girl had regular ball jointed hips as well. I would so order it right now if it did. As I said before--everything else about it is wonderful.
LisaMarie, I don't feel you need to defend your position. Everyone has different views. I agree with you on all points but I still ordered her anyway because ultimately she'll be mostly clothed anyway and I might be able to mod the joint to be a little more flexible since I don't mind seeing joint slots.
it is a little bit quiet here, did anyone else plan to order this new body? I think I would order her in Feb.
I see what you did thar! I'm still on the fence about the body. I really want to get it just because it's a glorious piece of art, but I don't really have a need for it.
same here. I have Sidonia on the Nuevo. Fell in love with the sculpt in the nuevo pictures too. I really wasn't going to get her until I saw those -____- Granado is taking all my money
I just ordered the new body, and I fall in love with Gitana. I think she is much beautiful than Taya. **Sign** Granado is taking all my money x2....
