Shiny new thread! Congrats [MENTION=62395]Zardi[/MENTION] for getting a body!

 

Thanks fishcake for posting the comparison of the bodies.
I'm still so unsure what body I should get for my future Pancho, since I want him to be slim, long but still toned...but I'm not sure whether I'd like the 68 body :C
I actually thought the Lads body would be my best choice, but I'm not so sure anymore, something bothers me and doesn't fit the character how I imagine him.

 

Thank you! I got the jointed hands, too. This will be my first pair of jointed hands. I hope I will like them

 

the new jointed hands looks very nice. I'm hoping they fit my April Story body with the Dollclans Benkel head who's the BF of Pancho on Volks SD17. got all that? it's a Frankenworld here!

 

Wow, thread 10! This calls for a celebration. We should have a Granado Games theme using the number ten. XD

 

@Ara, you are welcome--do you need more photos of the Lads body? I'd be happy to put other heads on the poor man since he has none of his own yet (he will be Pancho eventually). He's a nice body because he is tall, and he has slim legs so you can put them in boots and pants with no problems. He also has my favorite Granado hands, though I do like the jointed ones as well.

petiteballerine- I have jointed hands on my Chaka and I really like them. I agree with Fishcake that the Lads body has the prettiest set hands out of the bunch. I like the Nuevo body a lot but I feel like the hands look a bit small. Or maybe I just like giant hands on my boy dolls. That could also be the case...

 

I just hope my Anne's clothes arrive so she can wear something other than pink.

I have a shirt and leggings coming from Dollmore, I asked them to ship it by EMS since their K-packet is really slow and I don't want to loose anymore items using that type of service.

 

Let us know how they fit--I am always looking for more clothes for my Granado girls!

 

Here is my newest boy - Bunny. He's Granado Boyd on 64 old normal body. And he's the heaviest doll I ever had. Even nuevo body seems much lighter

[MENTION=62897]Kaminyari[/MENTION]: Boyd has such a youthfully handsome face. good to know about the 64 bod. it was always on my list, but I can't deal with very heavy things anymore. I hope the lads body is fairly light.

 

Lads is lighter than my Nuevo--one Nuevo I have is a tank. The weight is probably just whatever resin batch was they had going, because the Nuevo holding up Teodor weighs less than the monster under Coppersmith, and they are both NS. Coppersmith seems to have more of the translucent resin in him.

 

That's interesting, I didn't realize different batches had different weights. I just assumed that the old bodies were heavier than the nuevos because the old ones are drilled out, whereas the nuevos are cast hollow.

 

I have a question that I am sure someone here can tell me the answer to...I just ordered the Granado 68cm body. When I look at the Granado site it looks as if the arms are the same length on the 68cm body as on the 64cm body. Can anyone confirm that for me. Jo

 

Yes, I think the 68cm body is basically the 64cm body with longer legs.

 

Alewife I should put the two Nuevos on a food scale and see what the difference is--Coppersmith's is a year older so maybe they adjusted the molds to use less resin?

Quiet and Insane, thank you he's pretty shy one, but doesn't mind to be called handsome
petiteballerine, he looks so innocent sometimes >.< and he is probably one of the first Boyds, so later versions of 64 body may be lighter (good idea to measure weight, have to do it tonight - comparison between nuevo and 64 cm bodies)

 

I'd be curious to see the weight difference! The nuevo girl body is also lighter than the "viejo" girl.

 

Don't think I missed it so I'll ask one more time with tremendous hopefulness!

Did anyone manage to compare Granado's new normal skin to some other company's normal, primarily Crobidoll, Little Monica or Luts? I'm still planning on making my hybrid but it would be nice to know if the skin tone is close or not.

I'd love to know how heavy a lads body + head weighs. after a bad car accident, I had to limit my lifting. one photoshoot with a couple of these big guys can send me to the chiropractor! but, I love the 65-69cm size!

 

Sooo, my experiment ended with next results:

64 cm body (2012 year) with head - 1kg 865g
nuevo body (2014 year) with head - 2kg 120g

And I can conclude that Bunny heaviness was just my imagination

 

I must have been imagining the same thing, because I thought the 64cm body was heavier too.

 

I'm sorry if this has been said and I missed it...when you do layaway with Granado, do they start making your doll right away, or only once you have paid in full? I'm asking because there is a convention in July that I might want to take my Pancho to, but my last layaway payment is in June (though I am going to try to finish paying in May). Thanks

 

I guess they start making on the second or third payment. But some folks said when they finished the payment, Granado ship their dolls in next week. That's awesome.
But officially, they said they start to make the dolls after the last payment.

 

I was afraid that would be the case. Ah well, it's just more incentive to pay off early

 

Okay so my Dollmore clothes arrived today and I can safely say that Model Size Female clothes fit, but they are a little big on the Nuevo body small chest. Will take a picture of her tomorrow since the sun is gone now.

Granado posted a teaser for a new guy. Uranus. He's awesome and perfect. I asked what size he's going to be for. If he's for the regular size, then I'm going to be getting another floating head....

 

He's really nice! He reminds me of some handsome actor but I can't put my finger on it (sadly)

 

I thought he might be a Titan! He looks sorta big to me. Of course I could totally be wrong. Handsome face for sure.

Zardi- when I did layaway I only waited a week or two for my guy to ship. I did order him a faceup so I think they might have been doing that and then he went in the mail. It was quite quick!

 

I am hoping/dreading that he is a titan! I have fallen hard for my Patrick/Joe! He is huge and heavy, but I love him! Nico/Awin are such fun sculpts, I am itching to get bodies for my V-06 heads now too!

[MENTION=62395]Zardi[/MENTION] - I have done lay away with them many times, and I think it just depends on how busy they are. I have waited anywhere from one to four weeks after completing a lay away. I do often finish early, but sometimes the doll is too, so it all just depends.

 

Granado replied back to me on Facebook. He is a regular size, not a Titan. Sooooo, future head in the works >.>

 

Ooh...Uranus is quite a lovely guy. I look forward to seeing further updates.

Aw! Aernath! I'm a bit worried for my wallet with this boy. He'd look really good in Bronze...

So I ordered an Asura Lads Plus body this morning! I'd emailed Granado to find out if they ever offer Asura as an option with their body sales (because it's never on the drop-down menu) and they were like 'You've ordered with us before so we'll make you one!'. They seriously have the best customer service of any doll company I've ever worked with.

 

BlitheFool, that's very cool! Asura Lads body should look great.

 

Blithe Fool that is awesome! You will have to show us photos--I've only seen that Titus (SaikoXiX's?) in Asura, it looks amazing.

I fear Uranus will come to me too...I've been searching for a replacement of my DS Saint (since, while I love Saint he just doesn't work for his character), and even though I did not want three Granados in the story I fear Granado still fits my vision the best.

Oh well, at least the Pancho and he would be supposed to be nephew and uncle, so a bit resemblence is okay

 

With the faceup Crocus did, he becomes even more gorgeous! I may have to find a way to get him. Even if just the head for now.
I think he will look great in any resin! It' s going to be hard to decide!

 

There is nothing Crocus cannot do The detail on that head is pretty stunning, he looks like a real person!

 

I have to admit the face-up helps with my decision...the planned new face-up for my Saint had a beard too :'D

I have to admit though, I will miss the Dollshe body. Wry is hybridizing with them so hard.
But apparently the 68cm body has measurements that are pretty close to the Dollshe Pure body, so I will probably take that one?
Can anyone tell me how well it poses? Since it's a pretty "old" body from them and the pictures are not very promising...I fear it will be like my Angelsdoll body with the upper body joints falling out constantly and the body being unable to stand.


EDIT:
After a bit of crawling through DoA I found a few posing threads with the 68cm body. Not bad, I'm surprised (positive though).
While I'm not super happy about the hands and will probably have to use the jointed ones instead I'm happy to see that replacing my Saint will not be a huge disaster.

 

Uranus just replaced Granado Charles in my wish list. I had been going to get him next but kept getting side tracked by other dolls that were time dependent orders so the "basic doll" kept getting postponed. And I really really want the Nuevo body. That half face of Uranus' face up picture just really captured my imagination. What gorgeous guys this sculptor makes!

Hoooo boy. That dude is dangerous. I hope he's not limited, exchange rates are decidedly not doll-friendly right now and I'd rather wait until it picks up again, but I'm afraid this gentleman might have to join my crew

 

If you have an Old NS formerly the Yellow NS, then recent Volks, or anything that's meant to match Volks, is a good hybrid.

I've posted this before but here's an example: Aiden is the old Ns 64 cm body, with a Volks head made in about 2013. Very little blushing was needed to match the parts.

Fingers crossed the dollar picks up again so I can buy my Mads a body within the next year or so...I should probably get on that face up too. Bleh...so much to do, so little motivation! Granado's white resin looks quite pinkish compared to my other white resin dolls.
