    3. WOOT, new thread!

Thank you, @Dollquest, it has been quite the wait indeed! Since July 30th. I should try to figure out how many days its been once his body arrives. Hisato's actually been waiting for a "real" body since 2014, :o when I got him a Mirodoll body that was supposed to be "only for a short time, like a year or so." :doh:sweat Welp, he's also going to have some nice, new hands to go along with that body, so that should make up for the long wait. :3nodding:

      *snip*
Oh @IngieBee, you haven't really experienced a snowstorm, have you? :XD: The snowplows tried their best to bury both of our cars. :x

I don't mind digging out when the snowthrower works, but unfortunately, I was only able to clear out the area in front of the mailbox. :vein Now I can't get the damned thing to start, even with a full tank and the electric starter. *_* I should go out and shovel the walk a bit better, but honestly, I'd rather goof around on DoA! :kitty2 Oh well, at least I can get my packages!

I found a really old pic of him from back when he got the Mirodoll body. I hybrided the Fire arm and hand onto it, but it never really worked well, and his head didn't sit on properly. His poor head used to fall off if I wasn't careful, even with the "mod" I did to try and have it stay on. I'm just not a modder. :sweat

Hurry home Hisato, the snowstorm has stopped! :3nodding:

    6. @Ryuichi Sakuma 13 Well, I didn't imagine you actually had to get out of the house until it melted :whee: I mean, why deal with reality, if you can cozy up with hot chocolate on the couch by a fire (preferably) and with the heater on? :D Don't destroy my illusions please :D :D :D And of course if it's disturbing your deliveries, that simply mustn't be allowed :D Hope his body comes home soon!!! Too bad that body didn't work out, it looked good!

They're so cute, can you help me out with face sculpt names? Love their clothes!

      Sorry, no Rin herre @SacredMonsoon

And I need to add a picture, one girl who hasn't gotten attention in a long time, my DES :D

    7. @IngieBee the girl on the left is a Sylvia and the girl on the right is a Sarang ‘20 event head.

    8. Thank you, I used to know the sculpts but there have been so many new faces and so many new doll brands, I've lost my ability to remember, LOL :D They are gorgeous :D

    10. Oh, OK, @Hakari-chan , Is that a Woosoo on the left? and Mirwen on the right? I'm so guessing! LOL :D

    11. @IngieBee Nope, that's my Ria! ^_^ The boy on the right is my Mirwen, though! Need to get them both some better eyes... so hard finding good, flat ones that don't have giant irises... (anyone have any suggestions?)

    12. Got to love that fresh new thread smell. XD
So speaking of "real snow" and MNFs, I live in a part of the Midwest where we have the full normal 8 seasons of the year. You know Spring, Summer, Fall, Pre-Winter, Winter, Devastating-Winter, "Fools Spring" and Still-Winter. Let the record show that right now it is still very much the middle of Devastating-Winter right now and super cold. Which reminded me that a few years back I took a few nice photos of my demon boy Devlin sledding.

So here have some peaceful cute from my little trouble maker Devlin.

    13. Hey, a new thread! I tend to lurk around the MiniFee thread more than I do post and I realised I don't think I've ever posted a photo of Starr (my MF A 2016 event head) here since I 'completed' him. So, here he is!

He loves all things pastel and space related; specifically anything to do with UFOs and aliens :XD:

    14. Hi everyone,
How bad are seam lines on Minifee hands usually? I have a few pairs that aren’t that bad but one that is pretty noticeable. Is this normal for Minifees?

    15. I LOVE new thread spam! Everyone is looking great!
      Here’s my Aerie.

@cherryblossoms Ive never found the seam lines on any of my hands to be very noticeable, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I received a pair that was just because of the disclaimer FL has about seams, bubbles pock marks, etc.

    16. Geepers this thread is moving fast! LOL. @Hakari-chan , at least I got one right. LOL. Eyes are incredibly hard. My suggestion is to have a billion dollars and buy 2 million eyes of every size and try them on one by one :doh

@Tippetarius "Got to love that fresh new thread smell. XD" that's too funny! :D Yah, it's those eyes that made me think maybe Ria was a woosoo, but I knew I was wrong, cause the rest of the face didn't match :) I just don't know the newer faces that well :( Love all that magical snow!!!

@Magical Rin is Starr a Disco baby? Looks like Disco heaven :D :D :D

Those props are awesome, @blackcat87 ! That couch is amazing! Those books, that sweater, those boots!!! OMGosh, yes!

@cherryblossoms , usually seam lines are not too bad, but sometimes they are noticeable. How bad are they? Are they like webbed? I don't think FL calls it a flaw if they're just noticeable :(

    17. My Sia is still a WIP. I tweaked the eye opening mod a bit for eyes to sit better in there and I played around with piercing her ears the other night. I raided my box of earrings I had made for my vinyl 1/6 scale dolls to see how they looked on her.

      @blackcat87 I love the shoes! :D

    18. @IngieBee Starr's fashion style is based on the Japanese Decora aesthetic with a YumeKawaii (pastel) flare :whee: I can definitely see the disco vibe though

      • x 2
    19. @IngieBee and @Spectrum_Rhapsody thank you I think my dolls own nicer things than I do Spectrum_Rhapsody the earrings look great! I wish I was brave enough to try that with my minifees, I’ve thought about it so many times!

      • x 2
    20. @blackcat87 Back when I first got into the BJD hobby, I was so terrified of doing any sort of modding to a doll. It only took me twelve years to get over it. lol With my Sia, I've been dipping my toes into modding and I am liking the results so far. I figure if I mess up, I'll either learn how to do clay repairs or just buy a new head since she is a common sculpt. I don't think I would be as mod-happy if this were an event head or other discontinued sculpt.

      • x 2
    21. Well, you know @Magical Rin , I am kinda old, ROFL. Looks so cute though :D

@Spectrum_Rhapsody , are you modding a closed eye head? I want to do that! Any pointers/things to watch out for? I actually want to mod half open eyes, and I think it's going to be extra hard to center the eye socket, so I'm kinda scared, LOL

But you're right, I just gotta do it. I did just enlarge a head's eyes because they couldn't fit the eyes I wanted to use. That was scary but I didn't screw up :)

      • x 2
    22. @IngieBee Yup this was a Sia sleeping face. The amount of boring to create the eye wells was ridiculous. I was afraid I was gonna grind through the head, but it never happened, the layers of resin are thiccc there. I watched a couple youtube tutorials before attempting, but as long as you have a dremel or some form of powered hand tool, that should be all you need. It will look very crappy in the beginning, but that is what x-acto knives and high grit sandpaper are for. No matter how many times I have washed her head, I cannot get the resin dust out of the grooves in her ears. I am gonna have to take a gentle toothbrush to them. As for rotary tool bits, I recommend a spherical sanding stone (what I used to make the eye wells). Everything else is pretty much open to preference after that, but I wouldn't have had been able to make the nice round openings inside the head for the eyes to sit in without that bit.

    23. I'm pretty down right now. My mom had dementia and ALZ and just this week started degrading significantly. She's begun wandering at night and 2 nights ago she came into the office where I keep my dolls and moved them around. She stuffed 2 of them in a basket of clothing and misplaced a chair (I should look in the drawers....) It's been cloudy so I haven't looked at the faceups to see if they've been damaged, but.....

I think she broke the left leg on my ShuShu elf. She was moved from her usual spot and I didn't notice anything was wrong until I started inspecting the dolls more closely this morning. That's when I realized Keheley's leg was pointing to the right. It's a newer body, but still about 10 years old. Nothing I do seems to fix it. The elastic isn't twisted and the hip cap seems to be okay. I don't know what she did.

BTW, the office now has a keyed door.

      • x 1
    24. @Kirahfaye So sorry to hear this. My grandmother went through both for years and she recently passed shortly before the holidays in December. Every person experiences the symptoms differently, but perhaps to help deter her from the dolls you could provide her with a distraction piece? (I know it isn't always effective) My grandmother had a stuffed rabbit that she would gravitate to and she would treat it like a baby. She was never a stuffed animal person until her dementia got really bad (Alzheimer's set in later on). The wandering is hard to police, but hopefully that keyed door helps deter any further doll disturbances. Maybe get her her own inexpensive doll to occupy her? As for the leg is it drooping or kicking? Can you describe how it is behaving?

      • x 1
    25. Oh gosh, I am so sorry this is happening to your mother @Kirahfaye . Life is a struggle sometimes. I wish I knew of something to say when things get bleak. Only thing I know is this too shall pass. ::Hugs::

    28. Sadly, they did, @IngieBee. I'm really glad I ordered mine when I did, because I don't think I could have gotten him in the discontinuation period (I wanted/got him in Tan).

    30. @vicemage Yah, I'm still sad, I could only get one, and I kinda did 2 dolls with one stone by getting a body for my floating Juri 20 head I just got and a set of heads to go with my Marcia head, so she'll have the half open sp head and a second open eye head, which.. I can give her a "going out fancy" look to :D I always wanted the sp head but didn't get it when I got her. I'm just as happy to have extra heads so she can have various looks :)

@malvinas she is beautiful, what was modded, the eyes?

    31. So. I recently bought a Minifee Altis head and I'm not a fan of the A-line boy body, the muscled one, what are the other boy bodies available that I can get for him? I know there's the B-line, but I'm not really sure about everything. This is kind of my first Minifee ever. Will the heeled feet fit on a boy body? Or do they only fit on the girls?

      • x 1
    32. Hi, please I need to ask about minifee A line girl body legs (cutie legs), would they fit the moe line girl body? you see, I like the moe line body but not the legs nor the feet, and I'm wondering if it's possible to change the legs with the cutie legs of the A line body? Please any advise or information would be appreciative, and sorry if this question have been answered before. Thank you

      • x 1
    33. There's a few different options for the boys, though a couple of them are out of production now and you'd have to find them used. I actually did a shoot comparing the A-line, Motion-line, and Moe-line bodies (Fairyline is also an option for your Altis, it's what i have mine on) awhile back that you can check out here if you like!
As for the heeled feet, my girl with heel feet is on the renewal body and those feet do NOT fit my moe-line boy body. They fit perfect on the motion-line boy body, however. They also mostly fit on my fairyline boy body (there's a slight gap in the connection, but the magnets connect and stay on well enough to stand so it's functional just not perfect). I don't have an A-line boy body with magnet feet, though, so someone else will have to answer that for you.

      • x 1
    34. @Elendae_Nersil
They have the two male A-lines bodies, muscles and no muscles, they just retired the boy moe body, and then there is the motion body which is close to the male fairyline body with a few minor tweeks. I have all of these save the no muscles bod, and each has pros and cons. Personally I like the motion body boy best. (And as a side note A-line boys pose nicer after some hot glue sueding.)
As for if heel feet will go on a male body, I want to say they should be able to. I have male Aline feet on a male Moe body as moe feet are super super teeny, and to that end.

      @cake
I have no idea about exchanging the legs, but based on my Moe boy I know you can trade the feet to Aline feet.

The magnet on feet should exchange as easy as the hands do. I hope that is at least some minor help to you both.

    36. Thanks for the kind words. Here's a photo of what is happening with my MNF. She's on a 2010/11-ish body because of beauty "green" skin match. If I have to replace it, it's going to be hard to find another. =/

    37. @Kirahfaye Hmm. It is hard to say what it could be. If it were me, I'd have to restring the doll to do a thorough check. Maybe the elastic was hyper-extended in that leg? As the elastics get older, the rubber inside the fabric sheath breaks down. Maybe if that leg got a good stretch from whatever happened, it resulted in a loss in the elasticity of the string? Even if the string isn't messed up, it seems like taking everything apart may be the only way to diagnose what happened.

    38. Yeah .... I don't do that anymore. I almost broke a doll trying to learn how to string it. LOL. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic and other issues, our local group hasn't met up in over 2 years. I may have to live with it for now. Thanks, though!

    39. Yes! The Elf Rin came with dreaming eyes. She was modded so they would be more open.

    40. @Kirahfaye Ah, I gotcha. I have only done a restringing once and it was a pain because of the tension. > - <

I pattern drafted today based off of measurements and whipped up a sun dress for my Sia. All she needs is a cute floppy sun hat now. Waiting on her wigs and other things to arrive. So I am working on clothes and accessories while I wait. Plus trying to build her a room box, too.

    41. Well, she looks fantastic, good job @malvinas

Wow, I don't just like/love the dress, but those earings seem to go perfectly with it! She's going to be so gorgeous when she is finished!!! :D :D :D @Spectrum_Rhapsody

    42. Have you checked the cups between upper leg and hip joint? If those are misplaced it could make her cross her legs. Just a thought. You don't have to pull the doll apart to check them. I'm sorry if this is obvious and you probably did that already.

    43. Well they don't look damaged, at least. My guess would be that maybe one of them got pulled on and either A) stretched out the elastic like Spectrum mentioned, OR it could be that the knot in the elastic that ties it into a loop shifted so now one leg is too slack and the other is too tight? Either way, only fix is going to take her apart and restring her.

    44. Hey everyone! I have a kinda weird question about Fairyland serial numbers.
Is there any way to know what doll a serial number belongs to?
I have been out of the hobby for too long and my dolls have been in boxes for years, and while I do have the paperwork of some of them, for some reason I didn't keep them with the doll but all the paperworks in a separate box.
Now I have 3 MNFs and 3 different serial numbers and I'm selling a couple but have no clue which one goes with who. :sweat
And no, they don't have a doll name, just the serial number by Fairyland.
      Does anyone know? Thanks!!

    45. Have you tried rotating the thigh caps? I have the worst luck getting them to sit properly after trying to pose my girls.

    46. @himitsu I'm sorry I absolutely don't know! My minifee's COA have sticky notes on them so I know which one is to which doll. Maybe you should ask to fairyland?

Speaking of my Minifee, I haven't show them for a while!

    47. I did, yes, but thanks for the suggestion (also @Leeza~Kat and @Hakari-chan ). The hip caps seat together just fine. I'm a bit freaked out (okay a lot freaked out) about taking her apart since she's so old (CP Delf era). Well, her head is.

    48. @IngieBee oh thank you but oh my goodness I didn't do the mods myself! They were done by angel toast.

    49. I have been wondering the same thing. I have quite a few MNF, and the certificates stay with the box, but I don't remember which box belongs to which doll. :sweat

    50. Lol, that was smart of you! Good thing you know, I hope more people learn from this, haha!
And thanks, I emailed Fairyland but haven't received an answer yet.

Haha, I know! It never crossed my mind to write the doll's name in the certificate.
I'll post here if I get an answer from Fairyland abiut this!

    51. Yes, I'm in the same boat :doh

    52. I am not sure. I have never seen a clear COA. My fairyland head and body were both purchased secondhand from people who purchased from Denver Doll and all I got were photocopies of the COA and they are too blurry for me to read. With both sellers. One wanted to keep their COA for the head and the other for the body. I can only tell mine apart because one is a color copy and the other is b&w.

    53. @SacredMonsoon Here's one of my Rin's. I have her in tan too but not sure if two pictures are allowed. I realized I haven't shared this picture before.

    58. Yay! I've been periodically looking at the insta tags for Luha. I'm glad it will slowly fill up with owner pics soon. I'm so excited! :D:D

    59. That is exciting news. I love the whole rabbit concept and got her in white - my first CP white since 2004 Lishe Elf.
I'll have 3 MF: tan white and normal. The plan is to keep the trio and resist adding to them. We'll see how that goes.
