Can mnf girl wear doc boy shoes? will it fit/ look okay?

BTW - my guess would be yes even though DOC feet are usually 5.2cm and MNF feet are 5.5cm. But the width could be a problem.

iI'm going to put in my two-cents - No, not really. A few things feel well, but DOC tends to have much wider feet and calves, so boots that fit DOC will not fit MNF. They are HUGE and dangle off.

 

ive also heard that DOC feet are very wide. there is a comparson thread of DOC and MNF somewhere, in which you can see the feet clearly side by side. i would say no

So I did the super-glue reinforcing of the resin where the teeny tiny crack is on Irina's knee... and to be honest, it actually makes the silly thing more visible (at least, to me). But I know that it's stronger now so I don't have to worry...

...and it's not like it's all that obvious even now, but still.

 

Quick hello and a question pertaining to minifees; how well do Leeke 7-8 wigs fit on their heads usually? Should I invest in silicone caps or just avoid them all together?

 

I'm my personal opinion it'd be best to get a silicone cap. Leeke wigs run a little large and the one I have slips all over my girl's head without her wig cap on

I'd highly recommend a silicone wig cap anyway, to be honest. Leeke wigs fit some molds better than others, so the silicone wig cap will be great to keep them in place regardless. Also, no matter what type of wig you choose to go with, if it has a darker wig cap, then there's the risk of staining. I'm a huge fan of stain prevention, so other than my dolls who wear cloth wigs (pukis) or a blonde mohair fur wig... all my kids have wig caps.

 

Hmm... What size wig-cap would you say gives the best fit? I'm looking at DDE's website and am assuming size 6 for MNF, but then again I have heard that some MNF can wear LTF wigs! O:

 

i have a question : does anybody have glasses on their doll other then the unoa specifics glasses. i know Alister is wearing unoa specifics and i think Elise does also. but those glasses are hard to find. is there any other type of glasses that does not look to big or absolutelly horrible on minifees ?

 

Honestly, I always go directly to my favorite manufacturer of the wig caps, LaureBelle Couture. You can find them on Etsy, though I think they have a website somewhere...

Chiyoko actually has a Leeke wig, but she decided that she didn't like it, so I got her a royal blue Kemper one. The Leekeworld one fits beautifully, and is gorgeous, its just too bad that Chiyoko didn't like it.

Doesn't even have a body yet, and is already spoiled!

I've heard that silicon wigcaps can CAUSE staining! And they can also PREVENT it as well! Which is it?

You guys are probably really really sick of cherry - blossom pictures, but I thought I'd share this one. It's the very first tree that was gifted to the United States from Japan. (rest of the photos from this shoot/day)

Not saying they're only for kid delfs. They're general "mini" sized hands. Thing is, the proportions are different on each line of dolls. I dont remember where i saw it, but if i find it i'll link it or something, but i saw a picture that compared a minifee mag-on hand to a dikadoll 1/4th jointed hand, and the jointed one was larger. The balljoint might still work in the mnf arm, but it did seem like it would look too big. Kid delfs have larger hands, and the boy i'm getting the hands for is on an older kid delf body, so his hands are especially chunky (which is why he's getting new ones! I hate them XD; ) and his joint is larger than mnf wrist joints. I've tried putting mnf hands on him. they just look silly XD

Like said, when i get them i'll try them on my minifees as well for comparison purposes. I just have to get them first ^.~

I finally get to join this thread! I just got my Rheia a little bit ago and have been ecstatic ever since! And so I wanted to thank everyone for the information and spam they posted, it helped a lot. Hope the photo isn't too bad, my newish camera and Flickr still sometimes boggle my technologically-limited brain, lol.

Edit: Hope you don't mind a face-upless one, with a bit of luck she'll be going to an artist this month. ^^

I have wigcaps on almost all my dolls and I've never seen one of them stained from it. In fact I only have two stained dolls at all and both of them are from Leekeworld wigs that stained just around the wigcap =_=

FYI I am one of those people who does not take their wigs off. Ever. I don't even change their wigs. I am a huge advocate of the wigcap....

I love the mini glasses! I've been dying to get Ganesa and Prophet some but no money at the moment...
Wig caps! I have them on all my children and I love them. They're slightly rubbery so they grip wigs and such, and as an added plus they hold on magnet heads (which are a pain). xD I've been told to get a size smaller than the wigs for wig caps, so a 7-8 wig would get a 6-7 wig cap. I've never had any staining done by one. o_o; If anyhting I would imagine it prevented stains. xD;;

 

I've never used wigcaps before, and all of my dolls always have their wigs on. I've had minimal staining, and it's always come off with a little mr clean eraser, if i wanted. I just wash my darker wigs before putting them on my dolls, usually does the trick ^^ I've heard the silicone wigcaps can stain though, cause i think silicone by nature has a bit of oil in it...i think i remember reading that somewhere in the aestetics forum. idk though, dont quote me on it XD

Waru: The Dikadoll jointed hands have been out for a few months. I know someone got a pair, there are pics in an arrival gallery somewhere, but i've never seen them in use yet!

 

The only silicone related staining I've come across is actually with the silicone band that Monique Gold wigs have, reacting to the sealant used on my Littlefee's faceplate. I've experienced similar with Irina, my Shushu, but again, it's the sealant the artist used. (Same artist in both cases)

...However, the silicone wig caps that I use, I trim so they don't overlap any sealed part. I haven't had any issues with them, so... *shrug* I've continued to use them, and been quite pleased.

 

Whoa those are weird. xDD I always think they look too bulky for my tastes.
But if people are trying them on MNF's, maybe try getting girl hands for the boy doll? That way they'll be smaller/slender like MNF's are. xD;

 

Waru: i'm already getting the girl hands for my kdf BOY XD Th eboy hands are a little pudgy, and considering i'm trying to get away from Ryn's sausage fingers as it is, i figured the girl hands would just look better. Poor guy looks like a girl as it is, too ^^; pretty sure the girl hands will STILL be oddly big on a minifee, but i figure if they dont work on Ryn i'll try them on my mnfs. Or Rune, but her hands rival mnf for delicateness ^^;

psst, Torren, yes I did! *snag!* There goes the rest of my tax money. Although I've been very nervous about the idea of the jointed hands. I'd have no idea what to do if a string ever broke or something happened and parts of fingers started falling off! It's terrifyingly daunting. You'll have to let me know how they work out. In the mean time, I'm getting the magnetic hands. At least if they fall off, I can just stick them back on the hand again. Or if a pinky breaks, Kearsy can sculpt a new one.

Ice Mutt: Yay for Cherry Blossoms! I'm going to the Sakura Matsuri at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden next month and I'm working on kimonos for the event. Not taking any mnfs this time, though. Just my elf yder and maybe my ltf ante. Gotta love dolls in trees shots in any case!

Getting in on the wigcap debate - where do you even find those things anyway? Up until recently, I've been using velcro, having upgraded originally from doublesided tape, but I bought some pliver to stick on their heads, especially for the kids that have really nice wigs that I don't want pulled with the velcro. A few of my kids probably will never need anything to keep their wigs on - they're just that secure - but I'd love to hear thoughts on what people prefer - wigcaps or pliver. I haven't actually tried the pliver, but I am slowly taking off the velcro from several of my dolls's heads. Currently it's leaving them with nothing at the moment, but I'm working on it.
