The idea of this thread is to post pictures of your dolls wearing various shoes, and let us know where you got them. Whether a shoe "fits" or not seems to be a tad subjective, since some folks are willing to use shoes that are a smidge too big and not let it bother them. Luts is no longer stocking MNF shoes, but those shoes should be available at Fairyland eventually. Here is a great thread for MNF-specific shoes. Thanks ooLaLark, that was a lot of work! So let the shoes march out!
There is a whole thread about ballet flats and ballet shoes for slim mini feet. There is a kind of ballet shoe (keychain?) from a dance shop that people use. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=176786 Carolyn
I love this thread but I would really love it if you could write whether or not you feel the shoe fits well. Even if people don't mind a shoe that is a little big you could write "a little big but OK" or something like that. I agree that it is very subjective whether or not you like the fit but how much room is in the shoe is pretty objective. Something like "loose, tight, just right" maybe. zozolala I'm curious how the Ajumapama black boots fit. I know you've said some of the others were loose but you didn't mention these. Does that mean they are a good fit? I've been eyeing those boots on Ajumapama for a while now.
Zozolala how did you cut down the soles on those boots? Did you use a knife, razor blade, file, sandpaper, or what??? I like the boots, hate the thick sole they come with. They look really cute on your girl.
These are Dale Rae's flats for Unoa/Narae/MNF on a Serendipity 14-year body whose feet are more like Narae's (not like the old Serendipity feet). The shoes fit her and my Unoa body (and Narae since they are sold for Narae) but I am not thrilled with the way they look from some angles - the front is fairly flat and wide. However they are inexpensive and they come in a lot of colors. Dale Rae is away until Mar 26,2008 (notice on home page) - the shoes are here, on the bottom: http://www.dalerae.com/BJDGoodreaushoes.htm Carolyn
I have edited my post, too - thank you, Laura! It seems that I'm very fond of loose fitting, cheap shoes and boots ^^ But I like to have different colors and styles for photo shoots, to try to match the outfits that I make. As long as they look good on my girls' feet I don't bother that much about the fit. They were the very first boots I bought for my girls, and they have been my favorites since. I think they are a good fit. A little bit loose maybe, depending on what you are used to, but I think that suits the tomboyish look. I prefer them over the Infinity Docs. I used a new exacto knife to slice off thin layers of the soles. It took a while but it was worth it I really love those boots, they are very soft and of good quality, and I like the pirate style and the buckle straps!
Here's my homemade shoes for my mnf girl The sules are made out of super sculpey, witch later have been painted. And then I've glued on tha fabric and leather parts. All of you handy people should give it a shot!
Does anyone know if these Monique "My fair lady" shoes made for Cissy, would fit Narae, or Unoa?? Found them here: http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/spgm?dpt=H&srch=DW&item=MFL64
Okay a couple of mine: Low back sneakers from here: http://www.jujusdollymall.com/cgi-bin/dept?dpt=H&srch=14&tier2=112 (Bottom of page) Fit is good but snug. Probably wouldn't work with socks but since they have a low back they are easy to get off without straining the foot. Also the laces help with the fit. Bat boots made for Goodreau. Fit is good and snug. Probably would be too tight with socks but might be able to squeeze on with thin tights. On Lusis (right).Black patent MJ's by Ajumapama. By far the best fitting shoe I own. These are wonderful on Unoa. I wish they came in more colors. I think they also have white or off-white which I will get someday. On Sist/AOD hybrid (left) Mimiwoo rust shoe. Big on Unoa. I stuff the toe a little and added a piece of foam inside the sole to take up some room. Otherwise they look cute once adjusted. Slip-on sneakers from Mimiwoo. They look big/long to me yet a bit difficult to get on and off. I like them better on my Narin. The size seems more appropriate for a boy. That's it for now.
These shoes do fit Unoa and Narae but the heels are too high for them to stand in. I have some of these shoe and have cut off 1/4" of the heel so they can stand while wearing them.
Penny - Wonderful outfits and shoes! I bought a pair of Gothic Ballerina shoes from Jpopdolls and they are too big on Unoa. http://jpopdolls.net/store/shoes/gothicballerina/gothicballerina.html There is no back on the shoes, they are too long and also too high in the toe. It may be possible to make them work with thick socks or an added insole and stuffing the toe. Carolyn
Great thread! Thought I should mention that as Lati Blue girls' feet are almost the exact same size as Unoa's I think it would be safe to assume Lati Blue girls' shoes would fit Unoa very well. Meanwhile, for the same reason, I'm using this thread to find shoes for my Yern.
These are Cissy shoes (black velvety material) that I got off eBay -- Asphodel doesn't stand terribly well in them if her feet are together, but with a little creative posing, they work. The fit is secure but not so tight that you can't get them on and off. White angel boots from WeeThing -- I don't think the company is around anymore (at least their old site is dead), but they might still be findable on the secondary market. The low black ankle boots (also with wings) are super-cute, too. These are some of the best-fitting shoes I own for Unoa/Narae -- they were made with Unoas in mind. Black patchwork-leather DollHeart combat boots -- these are also perfectly-sized. (Sorry that so many of my shoes are out of stock/discontinued, I've been collecting for a while!) Black DollHeart calf-high boots -- these are a great fit, although it's a little hard for her to stand with the heel. These came in black, brown, white, and I believe pale pink. More in a minute! -- A
Luts black patent MNF-sized Mary Janes -- good fit, Unoas will stand well in them, although I had to punch an extra hole in the strap so that they fit tightly. These would be perfect with socks, a little loose with stockings or bare feet. I don't have any pictures, but I also have the similar style with an open back/back-strap -- those are too big, IMHO, and I don't know if I'll keep them (I'm too lazy to sell stuff, yikes!) Edit -- I'm wrong, I do have a picture -- Asphodel is wearing them, on the right. They're not a terrible fit, I'd just like them to be closer to the heel at the back. From left to right: DollHeart limited boots (came with the outfit) -- tight fit and hard to get on/off, but perfectly-scaled and lovely details. Luts Mary Janes referenced above. DollGa lace-up black/brown ankle shoes -- fabulous fit, love the style! Unoa high-heeled feet. DollGa black patent Mary Janes with pierced details -- again, love the fit. DollGa is a great company for Unoa/Narae shoes! Another look at the DollGa brown/black shoes: Luts MNF boots (perfect fit): Hope this is helpful! -- A
They're the smallest size available (GSS, I guess?) . . . I screwed up and ordered the middle size (which turns out to be SD-size), and wound up having to do an exchange (which DollGa kindly permitted.) Don't make the same mistake I did, LOL! -- A
I'm wondering if a DollZone MSD girl wouldn't fit the same shoos? Her foot should be 5.5cm Dustbunnie
My favorite super-cheap source of in-scale shoes for Unoa/Narae/Minisup is Teen Trends (Mattel). You can still find most of them on ebay, though not all of them fit and most are quite snug. Don't be afraid, just jam them on. Here are a few of the many I have: India-style flats and black ballerina flats: http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/supnar_wrapsatin.jpg Black knee boots: http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/unnar_lingerie_double.jpg Beaded faux-thong sandals (don't clasp around ankle but looks ok): http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/nar_wrap_blue.jpg Brown slide-on sandals with mini sun http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/un_wrap_longturq.jpg Red slide-on sandals: http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/sup_wrap_red.jpg Brown slide-on sandals with gold "studs": http://www.lindsayscorner.com/Portals/3/nar_outfit_blueflower.jpg Black sandals with silver "studs" and thick sole....sorry, no pic. Strappy silver heels....sorry, no pic. Please note the various tennis shoes DO NOT fit and most of the closed, pointy-toe styles also DO NOT fit.
I got these at Denver Doll, they got crushed during shipping, so they are a bit weird in the back still. But the fit is pretty good. I think a similar shoe is also sold by Castle Ann... These are by Wondermom. Dollheart MSD boots, great fit. These are also by Dollheart, as far as i can remember they were a good fit.
Ashbet - the Dollga patent maryjanes with perforated detail - are they these heeled ones? http://www.dollga.com/bbs/view.php?id=dollga_shoes_gss_en&no=1 Carolyn
The doll modelling is a Narae. Here's a pair of high heeled Leeke pumps, they were preorder shoes, but I think they must be about the same size as other Leeke pumps. They seemed a bit big when they first came, but I guess I got used to them quickly. They can be worn with or without socks. I shortened the straps a bit and made a new hole in the strap, as Narae's foot is quite narrow. Sorry for the dark picture!! I also have a pair of LUTS Mary Janes for MNF, they're a great fit, with or without a sock. LUTS link HERE. I am always on the lookout for delicate, 'small' feminine shoes with a little heel or a pair of great boots, so this thread is fantastic!!
Here's (almost) all of the Teen Trends shoes that my girl owns. Can you tell she has a thing for shoes? *grin* All these fit great, snug and tight - except the blue sneakers, but they fit my b-el instead. I don't know if it's just my girl, but she seems to have a larger left foot...
Which TT set did those black flats come with? Do they look nice in the back, or does the split gape open? Thanks for all the pics! -- A
I have those black flats and had to cut the back to allow the Unoa foot in. The split at the back does gape when they are on.
My black flats just squeeze on without cutting. Guess each comes out of the mold different. Hehe My trick is to heat them up a bit with a hair dryer if they are being stubborn.
The ballerina-style flats with bows? They fit perfectly, but they are whole, so no split in the back. I bought them here on DoA, so don't know what set they came from.
Ashbet - The Teen Trends black ballerinas come from the set Courtney "Night Out". ----- Leekeworld LS-038 Here's another shoe photo (not a great photo - sorry). I love these Leekeworld shoes (also seem to be sold at Dollga and may be in stock there): Much better photo here on ExquisiteCorpse's Narae "Ophelia" (2nd photo): http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1166176&postcount=259 One of the 4 color listings at Leekeworld minis section: http://www.leekeworld.us/frontstore...d=leekeworld&level=yes&mother_catalog_num=647 They are lovely shoes, maybe a little loose in length and width but not much. I love the way the straps latch - you only have to move the buckle once for length - after that one strap has a little hook you slip over the other strap next to the buckle - you never have to thread the buckle. Carolyn
So will 64mm Monique Cissy shoes fit MNF's? Or any of the shoes from http://www.facetsbymarcia,.com/shoes2.htm for that matter?
I'm utterly confused by Leekeworld's website. And it seems I have ordered the wrong size for my Unoa. I ordered "Size D", but when I asked Leeke, they told me size D is for 4 cm feet. Can somebody, anybody, please help me? For unoa, what category shoes should I be looking at? I'm close to tears now, its sooooo frustrating trying to guess the sizes because Leeke's shoes measurement cannot be found anywhere! ><~~~~~
Leekeworld you get M. But at Dollga you get the smallest size. BTW - no photos yet but Bobobie Kitty shoes are usable (a bit big and a bit high), and Mimiwoo Kitty shoes are definitely larger than the Bobobie ones. Carolyn
I'll try to get photos when I have daylight. I also have one pair from Mimiwoo that I like a lot. She calls then Mary Jane but they have a slanted strap (she currently only sells them in pink and red). They are a bit long but pretty good in width and the strap angle keeps the foot back so they appear to fit fine even though there is some room in the toe. OK - Have photos now... Pink shoe - Mimiwoo Mary Jane (available pink, red on Ebay) Black shoe - Bobobie Kitty shoe (note mimiwoo Kitty shoes are too large - much longer/wider than Bobobie ones) Worst (on purpose) - I pushed feet to the front and shot from side Best - feet placed properly, from above Typical - standing shot I think the strap helps to make the fit of the pink shoes quite acceptable. The fit of the Bobobie Kitty shoes is barely acceptable but they work fine in many shots and they are only $12 or so. They would probably work better with socks or a craft foam insole to lift the foot a bit. Also - the Kitty shoe straps do not have an appropriate hole so I just cinch them with the metal stick to the side of the strap instead of in a hole. Carolyn
Would these Boneka flats fit? I found them at Denver doll: http://www.denverdoll.com/bonekashoes.php Ooooh I found the Dale Rae flats, they look awesome!
The ballet flats from Denver Doll are too big for Narae. We are right now working on getting the sizing perfected for production. The first run of shoes was so tight that not even I could get them on my Narae. I am sure that Denver Doll will be carrying these in the US. If not get in touch with me - I will find a store that will have them. Kay from Boneka
I bought a pair of the Dale Rae flats from Denver Doll. I like them! I prefer simple footwear for my girls and though the Narae flats are a bit tight across the widest part of a Unoa's foot they still look very nice. I don't think any socks would work with these shoes but I wouldn't put socks with this type of flat anyway.
Oh my, they are perfect, Nancy! Just the type of shoes I was looking for for my Narae. I need to find a source for these...
I love those flats, they are the best I've seen, and Dale Rae says you can embellish them as well. I'm hoping they'll fit the J.I.D. girls as well, plus she has those fitums to help with the fit. She has them in suede as well!
I keep seeing this wonderful thread and thought I would add my two cents worth. I love all the shoes that were sold by Dollfair for Narae and Narin. I have every pair, including the boy shoes. I don't see them on the site now. The fit is great with socks and without. The Leeke maryjanes from Denver Doll are great too. And the low cut tennis shoes from jujusdollymall, as was mentioned, work fine. They are a bit tight but do look nice. No socks with these though. I also love the Unoa mule soles. I got one pair with a kit and decided to use them for an outfit that needed something a bit different. I have shown these before but just in case someone here does not hit the Narae fashion thread, here they are. The purple ones are my first pair and the green ones were made from a reproduction of the soles. I should have bought more soles on the recent pre-order but did not think I would be using them! So I made a cast and did my own. It is a lot of work so I would recommend getting the mule soles from Unoa. The shoes are very simple and so many styles can be made. I am working on another pair for my Narae girls.
I bought a pair of those mules and the black ones too but haven't made any shoes with them yet. I love what you did with yours. Thanks for sharing Dollswest.
dollwest-- Nice job on the shoes! The purple ones in particular look very professional. I have Unoa soles I haven't used, maybe this will inspire me! What did you use to make the cast? It sounds complicated!
I'd like to get my girl a pair of sneaker, I just don't know where to look! Does anyone know where I can gfind unoa sized sneakers/tennis shoes?
I just received a few pairs of Monique shoes from Audrey's Doll Gallery, size 54/25mm. They fit my Unoa's feet very well, although her toenails create indentations on the end. Since I don't particularly care for her long toenails anyway, I'm planning on slightly sanding them shorter. Before I do though, I'll try to take pics so that you guys can get some comparison shots. Overall: am very pleased with the quality for the price of the Monique shoes. I don't recommend their boots though, for even though they fit her foot, they obviously are made for dolls with some serious cankles. Also, I really like Audrey's because you can order shoes according to the actual SIZE (you can measure your dolls' feet and go from there) rather than what dolls they think the shoes should fit. But keep in mind, if you order from there, that they are kind of slow and I've read that shipping other than to the US is really high.
I was looking on this site a while ago and I found some shoes that had 25mm, and some with 54mm but I don't really understand which ones would work for my MNF. Could you please clarify for me?
Sneakers - As mentioned before, the ones Judy sells at www.jujusdollymall.com work great. Go to the "Goodreau" doll section, then shoes. They have several colors. I bought red and blue. They are tight but I bent them a bit and unlaced them a lot. They work nice and look great with jeans, etc. Making a mule sole - I would not recommend this, but since you ask...I purchased a resin compound to make the mold. It has the A & B parts that you mix together in equal amounts. Then I made a ball and pressed the sole into it for the casting. Seems simple enough but you need to do it just right because of the angle of the heel. You let this mixture harden for about 30 minutes and "gently" remove the sole. Next you mix the resin compound to make the sole. Again, it is an A & B compound that you mix in equal parts. You can color it too, but only in flesh. This sets up in 30 minutes too. You remove it from the mold. It took me five tries to get a decent mold as it has a tendency to overflow, make a thin middle, too high of a heel or not enough of a point on the toe. It works great on a flat sole, which I have done for Riley. Heels are difficult. But after spending $75 for the resin (encouraged by hubby) I was determined to get it to work. Next pre-order I will get the Unoa soles!
Certainly, getting some cool shoes for Unoa size feet may be a hard task, so I decided I would create my own summer line for my Nanako and other Unoas out there just waiting for their perfect fit shoes. Here are some of the sandals I designed and handcrafted: What do you think? There are more pics on my blog and Flickr pages.
International Velvet, sure! My Nanako and I are willing to share this Summer Shoes Collection with other Unoa girls around the world! Please, visit my blog here to see the info and details. Thanks for your interest!
Do you make people sizes? These are beautiful. I've always wanted to make my own shoes because shipping is just so awful...but I never know where to start. I look forward to see more. Might just have to get some.
Has anyone tried the Dollmore sneakers? Specifically these ones http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=4106 http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=4831 I don't remember reading this in the thread, but I could just have missed it. Thanks.
I apologize for crappy pics, but I figured they're better than nothing~ These show the difference between sanded (right foot) and non-sanded (left foot) toenails. It didn't make that much of a difference, really. But I didn't like my Unoa's long toenails anyway - I was looking for an excuse to 'trim' them. Monique's Classic Ankle Strap in Black. The green shoe is the same style in size 58/27mm (they fit my BF perfectly btw) and even though they're a tad big on my Unoa, it might be a better size overall. If I put another hole in the strap and trimmed the end off, the largeness would be less apparent. But then again, I don't care for the fact that there's so much empty space at the end. They do seem significantly bigger overall to me. Monique's Classic Ankle Strap in Light Green. A pair of blue satiny maryjanes. The bow is attached to elastic, which is fitted for a larger-ankled doll (I plan on shortening it). Monique Classic Ankle Strap w/ Bow in Baby Blue. Boots, which are full of fail (fit at the foot, but way too wide at the leg). Lace-Up Boots in Dark Brown. Overall, I am pleased with my purchases, because I can use them to gauge future orders/judge quality vs. price. Seeing how the most expensive pair was the boots at $4.17, I wasn't expecting Volks-quality or whatever. But they're a good cheap alternative to barefeeted dolls. The shoes I bought for my Unoa were 54/25mm sized shoes. Anyway, to determine what size your doll should be able to wear, stand her up on a piece of paper and mark on the paper the longest of her toes, the end of her heel, and both sides of the foot. Then get your measuring tape and measure in millimeters the length and width. On Audrey's site, the first number in the shoe sizing is length, and the second number is width. My Unoa's foot was exactly 54/25mm, and as you can see, getting shoes that are the exact same size is pushing it (although my BF's feet are the exact same size as the shoes I got her, and they fit her great... ). You can try shoes that are a few mm bigger than your doll's measurements, but don't waste your money on shoes that are smaller. Oh, and after I took the pics I came up with a cheap solution to my toe imprint problem: a small amount of tissue paper stuffed in the toes. Hey! I'm cheap - no use having perfectly decent shoes go to waste :p Anyway, hope that helps somebody lol.
Thank you!! Also, Naiara mentioned when she had Taylor that the Cissy pumps from jujusdollymall fit her MNF. I can't remember how she said the fit was but I'm sure it's around here somewhere. Edit: I found it and she said they were a perfect fit. Hope this helps.
I just received a package from denverdoll including several pairs of Dale Rae flats: they are fatastic! They fit Narae and Unoa perfectly, these are precisely the shoes I was looking for.
Which size are you guys ordering? I had a look and could only find 45 mm(too small) and 65mm (seems too big!) Oh, I see that Denverdoll is going to be at Dollectable! I'll nab some shoes then.
That's great to hear, I've been searching ebay and hadn't found anything that appealed to me. I was just planning on getting more shoes for my Narae, she's only got one pair and black isn't that useful in the summer! Some ballet flats would be perfect! Thank you everyone for this great thread!
