Fairyland MiniFee MNF with different eye sizes

Split out from the question about eye sizes!

Here's Finn (MNF Shushu), in 15mm Masterpiece soft glass in Caribbean. I kind of wish I'd got 13mm instead, but these work fine. She's wearing a F2BMade top, jewelry by michiiyuki, and a mystery wig from the marketplace here. Faceup by Englemech studios. Her body's on order so she borrowed Kale's for the pictures.



Kestrel (MNF Seorin), in 14mm Masterpiece Polymers in Light Green. He's wearing a Sunny's Wonderful World fur wig, and a Ken T-shirt with some random unknown pants. Faceup by me.


Kale (MNF Shiwoo), in 14mm Masterpiece Polymers in Mediterranean. He's wearing a Dollmore shirt and shoes, Cool Cat pants, I'll have to check on the hat, goggles by Alithegreat. Faceup by me.

 

Anyone have pictures of a Rheia with different eyes? Hopefully in different sizes?

Personally I think she looks best in 14mm, though I have her in 16mm by default. 12mm shows the eye putty in the corners of the eyes and gives a perpetually startled appearance.

Anyone who could show me how fits the 12 or 14 mm on a MF Yder?.

 

I've seen a few posts that state 12mm eyes in minifees show the putty, but the pics in Kikukas post don't seem to show this at all. Is it the brand or maybe the positioning? Sorry if this is a silly question... I'm REALLY new and trying to figure things out I've seen some posts regarding low dome vs high dome... could this factor in as well? I really like the look of the 12mm, but I'm trying to determine how much skill and research is required before purchasing them.

 

Does anyone have pics of Mir/ka with 10mm compared to 12mm and 14mm? Thanks

 

From what i'm seeing, 12mm eyes give a more 'realistic' look, rather than the 'cute' look that the 16mm ones give your doll! Is this generally the case? Does it depend of the sculpt?

 

Thanks for the comparison pic! It seems that glass and acrylic eyes have a fairly different look, perhaps depending on the actual size of the iris and not just the eye? *confused newbie*

Thanks so much for this post! I wasn't sure what size eye to go with for my first doll. I saw that you could go from 12 all the way to 16mm and I didn't know which to go with. I think I'm more partial to the 14mm really. Thanks again this is great!

I can make some tomorrow. I have a mika head and plenty of eyes to choose from. She is a difficult one though. Her eye wells on the inside are quite large but the opening small so its very easy to make her ‘all iris’ or to have to use tons of putty to make them stay on. Ideally you should use 14 mm with a small pupil, which I don’t have yet. I have her fitted with 12 and medium pupil atm which also works bur required lot of putty
