Hybrids Which bodies work for Minifee/MNF heads?

I have a dollzone boy/mnf lishe hybrid.
I am waiting on a one touch system right now to see if that works.
If not i will probably mod the neck hole in the mnf head.

I will post some more pictures of him with the one touch system if i get it ;D

 

MMkay, so this might be an unusual request. XD' I understand usually it's preferred the other way around when it comes to Dollmore/MNF questions!

I want a Minifee Shiwoo, you see, but I'm looking for alternatives for the body. I'm considering a Kid Dollmore body for a couple of reasons - one is price, and the other is posability. I've seen a Kid Dollmore body firsthand, and I rather liked it.

Skintone isn't really an issue for me. I plan on airbrushing the doll to have a darker skintone, because the character is from India. ^^

So - anyone got any Kid Dollmore/MNF hybrids? I just want an idea of head to body ratio. Do MNF hands work with Kid Dollmore?

Also, if anyone can recommend a very posable MSD body in lieu of the Kid Dollmore body (and for a reasonable price, please, I'm a poor college student XD'), please do let me know!

 

So far I know it may work for quite a few different companies, but can anybody confirm them? And are there any other bodies that may work?

I don't know if this would be usefull for you, but here is a DZ Sanchi (yellow skin) in a normal skin luts body.
As you see it fits perfectly ^^

 

Hiya someone asked me to post these. please please excuse my appalling blushing, in my defence its my first attempt, and I am a noob who is still too scared to restring so it was done with the body fully strung.. when I get up the nerve the whole lot is going to be airbrushed!!

Meet Rat (Ronyn) our stunt boy He's a MNF head on an AOD body (see separate post for a mini tutorial of how I did this)

The other thing you should know is that by mistake the wrong colour resin was ordered, the head is NS and the body is BW or whatever AOD's version is called - hence the bad blushing.

You can really see how bad the resin match is there the balls around his hips are the body colour, but don't forget its BW and NS mixed. I do not have a NS AOD body.

 

would a ns dollzone body work with a ns pale MNF head?

 

If you do not mind some resin difference, they could. MNF pale ns resin is still darker
and more yellow than Dollzone's pink normal skin. I think that blushing around could help!



Here are a pair of MNF hands on Dollzone 1/4 girl. They are from a light patch and work fairly well.

The resin match is dead-on. ^_^ However I did have to put a washer in her head to hold it on.

I just tried a minifee Shushu head on a Dolkot Jr girl body....and it doesn't really work that well. It looks way too small on the body. A wide head might work though, like a Soo...Kid Delf, for example, looks okay.

 

I think that Dollzone mini bodies are the best bet, their WS resins match very well.



Here's my friend's Lishe/DZ hybrid with CP hands

and I think Bobobie and CP match quite bad resin-wise, at least with WS - Bobobie white resin is really paper white where CP white resin is darker has a creamy/green hue. Dunno about NS though.

 

DELF NECK PART will be needed if MNF's head is put onto DZ's body, right?

 

I just got a couple of Delf Neck parts Type 2 and they are definitely sized for the SD Delfs type two heads-- I wish they sold just the type 2 for the smaller sized heads...

 

Are you planning to do a MNF/AoD hybrid, BloodLath? I couldn't help but notice that you're looking to buy a boy AoD body. Good luck with finding one and I can't wait to see what you're able to do!

I managed to wrestle Lu's head off, with some cursing, of course, and I stuck Ry's head on her body. He'd kill me if he knew that for a moment, he had teh boobehs. XD

But anyways, it's a damn good match to me.. save for the whole bobblehead look. ^^; Which doesn't really have much to do with the resin match in the first place. The neck whole is so wide compared to Lu's! I know that there's something that I need to make a MNF head attach to a non-MNF body properly, though I have forgotten what it's called. A little help, plz? Also, is it a difficult task?

Thanks Forbidden! Yes I am planning on a Vamp Shiwoo MNF/ AoD Combo. The Vampire head is smaller than the Elf head so I am looking for a slighter mature body to use for Lucian.

 

I've got a NS MNF Chiwoo head on a Dollzone body and I find the match is pretty close. Close enough that I'm probably going to attempt another hybrid at some point in the future.

 

mnf head fits well with volks msd body, but just in size. Colour is different, mnf resin is a bit pinker. But when the doll is dressed, it is almost imperceptible.




My friend has a msd from angell studio, so i'll try to look if that body fits with mnf head~

My request is a minifee head (don't matter what kind) on a luts delf body (in the same gender as the head please).

The minifee head actually doesn't even fit on the body normally. These pics are actually with a Fantasy Doll boy body that has an added CP Type 2 neckpiece (normally has a Juri06 head on it).

The head shown is a MNF Vampire Shiwoo.







I suppose you could try putting a Minifee Type 2 neckpiece on a Delf body, but the head proportions are pretty off.

 

I have my Minifee Soo head on a Bobobie body. The normal skin color is more pinkish than the head I have, but I've heard that Luts resin varies in color depending on the batch. I got my head secondhand, so I have no idea what batch she would be from.

As for the fit, it looks fine if you can figure out a way to get the head on. The head I have has a hole too big for the Bobobie S-hook to hold it on normally. But I crafted a stopper out of packaging plastic, and it holds the head on perfectly. There's lots of poseability, just like if it wasn't there. Or, if you want, you can add to the neck hole and create a smaller hole so that the S-hook will fit through, and hold in place when it's turned, like with most heads I've encountered.

Naked, so you can see the size of everything. Those mature boobs are pretty huge.



Here are some pictures showing the gap that the large MNF neckhole has with the Bobobie neck. It's not really noticeable unless you look under her chin. But if you're crafty, you can add clay to fill this gap.


Here's a diagram of the plastic thingy I made to keep the head on. The hole in the middle is to fit the knot in the elastic through. And the long, rectangle hole part is where you slide the S-hook through. The horizontal line in the middle is where you can fold the plastic in half, so the S-hook can sit in the crease, and so you can maneuver the head up and down.

I'll tell you one thing, though. If you get a Bobobie body, be prepared for some hardcore restringing. =x_x= They come to you with this awful, floppy stringing, and with the 3-part torso, it is a pain in the arse to get the stringing tight enough so that the tummy doesn't pop out during posing. I'm honestly considering gluing the tummy part to the pelvis part, because none of my other dolls have that type of torso, and they pose just fine. lol

I'm looking to put a MNF head on a less mature body, but I dont want her to end up "chunky" looking. Resin match is not an issue as she will be either dyed or painted.

I'd like to see more shots of the MNF heads on the small bust Bobobie body, Souldoll, and the Dollzone girl body as well. I'd prefer shots with less clothing to get an accuate feel for proportion.

 

I've looked around and couldn't find anything with the search feature, so... here I am!

As you can probably tell, I'm new to BJDs. I was thinking of making a MNF/KDF hybrid but I'm concerned whether the resin will match or not.

Does anyone have a hybrid of that sort? Or at least a resin comparison? I'm looking for Woosoo in particular, but any MNF head will do. Thanks!

 

Not sure if this has been said before, but Angel Region bodies are GREAT for Minifee heads. They're pretty slim, and the resin match is perfect!

The only problem, again, is figuring out a way to attach the head. There is the option of making an apparatus like the little plastic thing I described and posted pictures of earlier in the thread...but lately I've just taken to replacing the S-hook with a rod the length of the inside of the Minifee head (I cut up those cheap wooden chopsticks they give you with Chinese takeout). I can take pictures of this if anyone wants, but the process is very simple, unlike the complicated plastic thing. XD

 

The large body is AOD pink and the mini is AOD yellow. The spare hands are MNF NS as well as the head.

Anybody know how one of the girl heads (soo, ari, lishe) would fit on a Super Dollfie Cute girl body? The resin match looks fine to me, I'm more curious about proportions.

Are the neck holes on the boy heads bigger than the girls?

 

Eh? I have a dollzone boy body for my Minifee Miyu boy, and I didn't need to mod the neck hole at all...

The resin match is great! I can take pictures of the inside of the head (The S-hook doesn't work, so I hold it on with a wooden rod I made by cutting a cheap chopstick in pieces. lol) if anyone still wants them, but for now...


He's on the right. (The other is a MNF Lishe on an Angel Region boy body, if you're wondering. Also a great match, but much shorter than the DZ body!)

 

Sorry I didn't answer this sooner! I should have remembered...

I first had my Minifee Soo sharing a body with my AF Lily (who has been sold since then). The resin match was great, and the AF body was really cute on her! So I don't see why a Minifee body wouldn't work for an AF Lily head.

 

I've got my Dollzone/MNF boy together! He's normal skin Shiwoo sleeping mod head and a normal skin yellow Dollzone body, attached with a little wooden bead. The resin match is dead on! Next to him is a white skin MNF Woosoo vampire sleeping head and a white DZ Feilan head. We don't know if they DZ head is yellowed at all as its second hand and the match is actually not too bad until the flash hits it >_<



So there you go!

 

I have a Fairyland MNF Seorin head on a DZ girl body, both whiteskin. The resin match is close, the FL resin is still a touch green (and looks even greener cause my little zombie girl is blushed in greens anyway.. her body mods are incomplete so she hasn't been blushed there yet)

In place of the neck piece I just closed the MNF neckhole up a bit with some air-dry clay (Makin's) and it works just fine.

And I'm back! had my camera out already ^_^ This is my Shiwoo's head inside. He has a tiny wooden head for a brain....



The yellow stuff is model magic I used to fill in the hole more because the neck hole is wide and sits low on the DZ neck and a little padding helped make him look less broad shouldered and give him a neck. the ribbon just loops through the elastic and through the bead and tied. I keep it long and stuff the ends inside because sometimes you just have to take a head off to get clothes on or off. hope that helps!

 

One thing that might help with hybriding: Cool Cat now sells MSD/yo-sized neck donuts.

 

I've looked through a lot of threads and the only thing I can find is a minifee head on a dollzone body. I've always liked the minifee bodies and now they've released the non-muscle boy body. I know the minifee's have somesort of one touch system, does this interfere with putting a different head on the body? Is it able to attach using good ole' rigging? Does the proportion look good? (when doing this vise-versa I've noticed the DZ necks look too short) Can you still have full range of movement on the head?

So, I made this work! I don't have any detailed pictures (I'll add some later, but it'll be a while), but it was easy. I bought a little bag of nylon washers (they're labeled 1 x 13/32 x 1/16) from Lowes. I sanded one down on all sides until it fit in the hole on the underside of the head - this closed the neck hole up enough that the head didn't fall down on the neck too far. I strung the elastic through the washer, through the head, through another washer, and then put the S-hook on, and it stayed! The washer inside the head does need have a bit on two sides cut or sanded off, because it kept pressing on one eye and making it look wonky, and the head is not super-poseable, but this works just fine for me, at least for now.

Yay I'm back and don't know why I haven't shown everyone picks.

My Sora (Chiwoo) is on a Peak's Wood normal skin body and I would have to say I am VERY happy with this match. There is a VERY VERY VERY slight difference in the color but it really is NOT noticable at all unless you seriously hold the doll an inch away from your eyes.

The proportions are that of a MNF as well I would assume so it maches VERY well, being very petite and not chunky.

I don't have that many wonderful photos but I do have some after I modded a scar onto the body~
(Scar is removable and no resin was harmed!)

I finally have pics of how I'm attaching Kale's head to Riddick's DZ body.

I'm using nylon washers - the one on the right is sanded around the edges a bit to fit in the hole under his head, the one on the left goes inside the head, and is badly trimmed down with tinsnips so that it won't push his eyes out of position. I think I actually trimmed it a bit too much, but it works.



Here's his head, with the bottom washer on.



Here's the inside, with the S-hook sitting on the inner washer.



There's a bit of a gap at the neck, but it's not too bothersome.



His head isn't super posable, but it's good enough for me, at least until I can either buy the neckpiece or afford his Minifee body!

I would like to see a comparison of MNF tan with either AOD or Bobobie tan. How well does the colour match?

Hmm. Have anyone tried using the luts's donut neckpiece for delf and sand it to fit for hybriding ?

 

NamelessMon - I actually had to sand it down for my hybrid. It was getting in the way of the headcap closure, pushing against the putty and messing with my eyes, and it helps to sand it and is still fully functional! =D

gachapon: Main issue you would have is color. The current kid delf bodies are luts realskin, which does not match fairyland normal skin. The only way you could get a minifee head to match a kid delf body would be if you picked up a second hand old style kid delf body, from when Luts still made them in normal and white skin rather than realskin. If you did that, it'd prolly be just fine ^^

I do have an example though ^^ Crappy, CRAPPY old picture of my minifee chiwoo from before he had his own body. Borrowed my other boy's kid delf body. Fit worked out really well (kid delf donut got in the way of his eyes, but if you got the mnf neckpiece or rigged up something else it wouldnt be a problem)

Here's my tan MNF Sleeping El on a tan Resinsoul boy body. I had to blush the whole body (and I mean the whole body) with pastels to get a good colour match, because the Resinsoul tan was so much lighter. There's still a slight colour difference, so I'm going to reblush him later. The body is nice, eventhough his head rested a little bit too low on th neck until I added a home made donut under his head. These photos are taken before I added the donut.

 

I don't have a WS Minifee, but I can tell you that the Bobobie WS is VERY, very white. It is STARK white, and my girl has yellowed some. I'm not sure Minifee WS is that white.

 

Posing is good (holds this pose better than a mnf a line!)

Here's a MNF Karsh head on a Fantasy doll body, both normal skin. The resin match is PERFECT, I actually can't tell the difference! It looks really good, too!

 

Did a comparison once to see what matched. We were actually matching NS Souldoll but what we had in there was also a NS Minifee head and a 2008 NS Bobobie. I no longer have the picture though, however both Souldoll and 2008 Bobobie NS matched perfectly with 2008 Minifee heads. 2009 Bobobie NS does NOT match however

 

Morganatron: Did you have to restring the body to use the mnf neckpiece for it to work that well? I've got the fdoll girl body for a kid delf head, but i tried one of my mnf heads on it, too. The head ate the neck completely XD I'm gonna mess around with it though, to see if i could get it to work. Fdoll makes really good bodies ^^ Oh, also, that body is normal yellow, right?

 

Hi Torren: I really SHOULD have got a MNF neck piece to re-string him: unfortunatley I didn't think to order one.
So he's currently held together by the stub of a pencil poked through the strings in his neck to hold his head in place! Low tech solution, but it seems to be working so far. Eventually i'll get a neckpiece to try I hope, just have to wait for a group order or my next order - the head movement isn't great how he is now! The pencil holds the head up enough so it doesn't make his neck disappear, though.

The body is normal skin - at least that's what it said on the invoice, so I hope that's right!

 

Morganatron: Only reason i asked about the color is cause i know FDoll has like four skintones XD I just got what mint on card called the normal skintone of the mini girl body, cause they only showed one color. The boy ody they've got has normal yellow and normal pink, and a friend of mine ordered normal yellow, and we're pretty sure she got the pink, cause it matches our kid delfs, but not the normalskin head she got it for ^^;;;

You could prolly put a wtb up in the marketplace for the mnf neck piece. I'm sure there are people who have some that they're not using ^^ I'd be a bit worried about the pencil's resiliance against the s-hook and tension, but its a good temp solution. I migth have to try that if i decide to use my girl body for my mnfs at any time XD

 

Any Fantasy Doll WS with Minifee WS??

 

I'm trying to figure out if Fantasy Doll normal, either yellow-ish or pink-ish, would match with DZ normal...the yellow-ish normal...? Specifically, a DZ head and an FDoll male msd-sized bod.

I don't know if the whiteskin matches, but Ruth is on an older (single jointed) Souldoll girl body and is significantly taller than Finn, my Shushu. With her (platform) boots on Ruth is almost the same height as my Dollzone boys!

 

yay! thanks! i'll add souldoll to my list...its usually (imo anyway) easier to match WS than NS...theres less a chance it will be horribly off. and of course for the ones that dont work out at all, lots of blushing and Photoshop are my friends XD
