I’m so excited for the Oscar rerelease, and in love with how they executed Marie’s expression! I can’t wait to hear more details like sales method (…and price )

 

Marie looks great! And I’m glad they’re rereleasing Oscar. Mine was a huge pain (and expensive) to get hold of after failing both lotteries, and even I had a relatively easy time compared to how scarce she’s become since then, so I’m happy more people will have a shot at owning her.

 

I am THRILLED that they went with a more youthful interpretation of Marie. Now I feel like I can keep my custom one as an "older" version of her as I had intended.

 

Since we had an SD17 boy release earlier this year, it was too much to expect a Fersen, or an Andre re-release *sigh*.

However, I like the look of the re-release Lady Oscar Sooooo tempting this time around, since I talked myself out of her last time

 

I'm with you @beamlette ! Totally relieved that the SD17s weren't included... my bank account is still recovering from the Boy's Dormitory tan hunk. x_x

So happy to see Lady Oscar return to us! She is such a beautiful sculpt, but I'm safe from this release ~ phew! Happy that people who were pining for her that missed her the first round can have another shot. Hopefully it won't be such a difficult lottery like the last one.

 

I know I'm setting myself up for heartbreak - again - but she's my grail. I still feel bitter about how many scalpers got her vs. actual doll owners. Maybe this time will be different. (definition of insanity)

That face just haunts me. I wish I had an army of friends and relatives to put in for her! This time, if I fail, I intend to shop! I have some pennies saved.

Oh wow! Another Rose of Versailles release! Looking forward to seeing both ladies in more details. Re-release Oscar looks as captivating as the original. What a killer release year we've had!

I guess a couple more sleeps and we should know the results of the Pink House ladies ...

 

Good point! Just because Lady Oscar is pictured, doesn’t mean she’ll be re-released. We shall see…

 

For what it’s worth, the leaflet in their tweets says that the sales decision is for both characters by name instead of saying something like lady Oscar outfit set, but wouldn’t be the first time I’ve misunderstood volk’s meaning ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like the standards (SD and SDM) are getting discounted at volks as soon as they sell sell out from the store.

Wellllp I'm doomed if it is, in fact, an Oscar re-release. She's one of the few dolls I regret missing out on, so I'm hoping it works out this time!

Marie is cute! She's kind of giving me Sapphire vibes, but less pouty.

 

Oscar is so pretty, ah, I wish I could fit her in my doll plans but I will just enjoy her through the pics people post.

 

Oh my word Volks really outdid themselves with these two ladies, they are a collector's dream! I remember when Oscar first came out how much everyone wanted her so I hope whoever missed out gets another chance if they indeed re-release her again. As for Marie, all I can say is she is everything!

 

I'm sad-panda there's no Andre this time... But more Oscars are never a bad thing!

 

Lady Oscar looks royal and lovely in the blue uniform. Glad she is getting rereleased. I am interested in her only, even though I don’t know the anime.

 

Just read on Facebook that Volks is re-releasing the Disney princesses through Disney Japan!

 

Is there a resource out there for dating a volks doll based on the headplate? (Or other indicators) I got an older doll secondhand and I'm very curious about what year she was made

Wow! Lady Oscar and Marie look sooo pretty, but I don’t think my wallet would like me if I went for either of them (that and my poor luck). I’ll have to continue to live vicariously through y’all. Best wishes for everyone who’s hoping for one or both of them!

 

I am so glad they are re-releasing Oscar and I will definitely enter for her even if I'm not a fan of the SD16 body. But Oscar's headsculpt is soooo pretty. Marie looks amazing as well .

I’m feeling something devious coming from Volks because they are not featured in recent volks news like back then when they announced Sapphire hopefully they will be preorder like Hermione

At this point I will be happy if they aren't JP & US only like the Disney girls. But I don't think so.

 

Marie is so cute! Some people shy away from WS dolls now, so maybe the demand will be less insane. LOL Her head looks huge though if she's really in that photo with Oscar. Oscar's head is rather big and round already.
Gonna just sit over here and be happy with my white SDGr F-73 that took me forever to settle on and assemble, because I really need to get off of the hamster wheel of reshelling this poor character who is now on version five.

Does anyone remember when VolksUSA typically sends out winning emails?

 

Sometimes I get them first thing in the morning sometimes I get them at the end of the day

Oh my goodness, I got the notice this morning that I won Macha! I didn't think I was going to win but I thought "what the heck, give it a try!" What a wonderful way to start the day, I instantly took a liking to her sweet face, hair and outfit and can't wait to welcome her. I hope to see more of her and Yumepi here once they start arriving, they're both so gorgeous

I know Volks Japan sends out losing notifications, but I'm not sure if Volks USA does. My friend got a winning email a little while ago, but I haven't heard anything yet either way.

I seem to have really good luck with DD lotteries, I've won so many, but when it comes to resin my luck is pretty abysmal. I'm so sad it looks like I didn't win, but I'm also not seeing a huge pool of people who did. I'm shocked I didn't even win one of the bears. Was a tough lottery

 

So I guess I didn't win and have to buy in 2nd hand.. I'm checking japan and the value is pretty... insane

If there's enough popularity, maybe there'll be a rerelease for those best of best event! As much as I love her too, I hope not see another lieselotte best of best release again Need more other cute dolls to win those contest, hope Macha and Yumepi will have a chance!

 

I wasn't expecting to get Macha, I'm so happy! At this rate, she will arrives around the same time frame as my Elsa pre-order too.

I hope that this mean USA start to get lottery for dolls like JP does. I'm still hoping one day I get to win a Loraine - my ultimate grail.

Ahh I think I'll try for Oscar She's been one of those sculpts that I never even allowed myself to seriously consider, since she was so expensive. Exciting!

 

I think this is the reason I decided not to try for anything else ... didn't want to risk this kind of heart attack too. We can be Yumepi losers together.

 

Kind of an odd question, but does anyone have a comparison of the SDGr body vs. the SD13 Revival beyond the official Volks one? I’m curious to hear thoughts on the SD13 Revival Body in general.

 

@mustbemissa, here's a pic I have comparing torsos of the Revival body (left) and the Graffiti body (right) --



I like both bodies. To me the Revival body is the best of both worlds, having the added articulation that the old SD13 boy body lacked (double-jointed elbows and knees), and I especially prefer the slightly broader shoulders. I always found it odd that the Graffiti body seemed to have narrower shoulders than the old SD13 and the Revival (and narrower hips as well), but I like the sullen adolescent slouch of the Graffiti body

 

@beamlette, this is perfect! Thank you. I was thinking along the same lines - I liked the postured of the Revival body a lot, and I’m glad they have broader shoulders.

 

@beamlette Does the torso joint on the Revival body actually stay in place when you position it? I always liked the look of the old SD13 body, but what put me off it was that the torso joint was essentially useless. It only stayed in one place. (Maybe it was may fault somehow though? lol)

@overlordu, I'm ashamed to say I haven't challenged my Revival body to do any fancy posing; sorry! But the same can be said of my Graffiti body boys too. Something to put on my to-do list!

 

Congrats to the winners! I liked Macha, but I'm definitely at a point in my collecting where I just leave the wildfowers where they are for everyone else to enjoy.

The Revival body has a different feel than either the 13 or the Gr, but that might just be me. I really love the weighty drape of the 13 and I don't love the snappy action of the Gr. The Revival doesn't make me nervous that it's going to pitch forward at the waist like the Gr and the torso joint is flexible and stays where you put it.

 

Weird question, but during the last outfit release with the shrimp bag and all that, I was having trouble ordering. Like, it'd go to the last page and I'd check out with PayPal and then Volks would tell me it didn't go through and to try again. I heard a few other people were also having this issue. Eventually, it went through.

But I looked at my bank account this morning and Volks still charged me for each attempt even though it didn't go through on their website (there is no order history). So I got charged 3 times.

Every time I've contacted Volks in the past it took them a month or so to get back to me, so I'm not sure what to do? Is this a thing anyone has experienced before too or like... help

 

I was double charged once when my PayPal failed and then I checked out via credit card, only to see the PayPal charge went through. I emailed them with the order number and the PayPal invoice numbers explaining the situation and they put in a reversal on the extra PayPal charge within two days so I’d just reach out and they should be quick with this one. The email that resolved the issue for me was - [email protected] though I first emailed the PayPal email directly.

 

Thank you! I contacted them with all the info. Hopefully they can reverse it quickly because it's a few hundred dollars of failed attempts on top of the successful one. Gonna starve XD
