I also have Williams because he's super cool. But I don't really know in detail the story of the silver coin. I read a little bit about it here but don't understand one thing =) =) =) Is Williams a surname or a name? =) =) =)

 

has Volks said if they will offer the F100 head/s soon to USA? I would love to order the elf girl... I'm wondering if I should keep waiting or order through a proxy if I can find one.

There's a new man in my house as I've finally given in and gotten a Williams of my own. I love him.

@Constance Your Williams is lovely...and it's put me back on my desire for an SD13 Williams again. I briefly had a head but couldn't make it work, and then after looking at the headplate, realised it was the SD17 version - he's long gone but I have a yen for the SD13 guy...but you don't see him much these days.

Any SD13 Williams spam would be lovely!

 

@Constance They looks cozy and warm together, amazingly captured picture. May I ask if cain on sdgr girl body ? I am thinking to make my cain into girl, but not sure how the head will look on the body

 

So many gorgeous Williams have come home! It amazes me how popular this sculpt remains after 15 years, but he was my grail too so I was not immune to his charm. >w<

@Alice80 : I own a SD13/Dolpa 16 Williams. I owned a SD17 version briefly, but didn't get any comparison photos because most of my stuff is in storage as I prep for a move. But from what I've seen and other owners describe, SD13 is different and has a "fluffier" face. I quite like it! But I'm not sure if Volks releases the SD13 version anymore... even for one-offs. Here is a picture below (they are the same doll), but mine became very yellow and since I can't qualify for exchange service I airbrushed him to match Shadow Skin.

Volks really tapped into something with the Wiliiams sculpt. It has so much range and rarely looks bad.

 

Has anyone received their FCS from last autumn? I ordered in Oct. He should arrive this month, but I dont remember seeing any from Aug/Sept(I forget which month)

 

Sharing my Volks Sdgr Mytyl. I am not a big fan of her fullset, so decided to change her clothes. She is really beautiful

My FCS from August came in just before Christmas. I got a 'just arrived to our office from Kyoto's Tenshi-no-Sato' late November, then a shipping notification early December. So overall seems like they managed to stick to their timeline. I hope your FCS comes in soon!

 

I just got my email from Volks USA saying my Lieselotte has been shipped!!!

There is gonna be so many new Lieselottes! Very excited to see what everyone does with theirs. UPS is saying that she should arrive by Thursday for me but, UPS can be a little slow to my area, so we will see.

Recently, I've been thinking about emailing Volks and asking if they'd ever consider making high heel legs or even just heel feet for the boys.

After suffering from a bout of ennui below ship he gets shipwrecked after a bad storm, and develops a tan while roaming about the island, and then gets saved by SD17 Cecile of course Reisner is there to. Drama ensues.

If Volks re-released all three of them at the same time a lot people's wallets would cry I think.

 

Oath of the Silver Coin ~ Shipwreck AU! would be a great way to introduce all those missing characters...in Sunlight skin.
But first they'd need to restock the freakin' ZM spray!!!!

 

Clearly Shipwrecked Williams needs to happen because it means Cecile will be able to save him, and they can repair their broken relationship

So, my impatient butt decided to drive to the post office to pick up my girl. To be fair, I was going to be at work when she would have been delivered and I didn't want to wait until I got home to open her.

I'm so happy to finally have my grail. She's soo much more amazing in person and I can't believe I'm holding her in my hands and she's mine.

Please, forgive my hastily taken picture I couldn't wait to share her. Her name is Rosalie.

Hoping you guys here can jog my memory, what was the occasion in which Volks did an international one-offs lottery for GL members? It was a few months ago and I can't remember anything o__o

 

Think it's the 2nd anniversary of their online store.

 

They let GL members enter for the FCS anniversary one offs as well back in May

Re: shipwrecked Williams, I agree with @eleniel… he’d burn, not tan! But I do hope we see Reisner this December (since spring seems likely to be Frozen girls)… or maybe Reisner will swim up on the abandoned island in spring and save winter for the frozen girls? (Just gonna pretend MSD and YoSD don’t exist)

The one-offs for the last Tokyo Bay cruise were all pirates… if Volks did a whole pirate themed Dolpa where all the outfits and the dolls were pirates, I think that would be popular! Then again, I’d also be up for an all-vampire Dolpa with lots of fanged-version rereleases. Really lean in to the nostalgia.

 

@laquaza Your girls are so pretty! I love your Charlotte’s innocent and sweet look, and your Lieselotte looks so good with those eyes!

Thank you @snowgray! Maybe they'll continue this spring preorder thing with more big rereleases. I can't imagine the big Frozen girls will be preorder though. As much as Disney wants money, I can't see them agreeing to that. Hopefully they'll read this thread and start working on a shipwrecked set (complete with sunburned Williams) for next year

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if there are two version of DWC03 head. The two images are from secondhand markets. One has -03 at the end while the other has -3 only. Are both of them legit?

Actually it took me a while to fall for Lieselotte. I didn't preorder her because I liked Charlotte and Lucia more even though I liked Lieselotte's fullset the most. But sometime in summer I saw reason and fell for Liselotte's charms . So I got an older release secondhand.

 

@nyaaain, maybe you need to sign in to your account after you've clicked on the link to see the hand choices?

 

I’m having the same problem. I log in to see options but nothing shows up. Maybe emailing VolksUSA will fix the issue?

 

Both Lieselotte and Lucia come up for me. I'm already logged into my account in the browser I am using, then I click the link in the email from Volks and I can see them. If they aren't coming up properly, Volks must not have you in the right owner group. Just contact them and they should sort it out for you.

 

@beamlette I should have noted I was already signed in! Oops! That doesn't appear to be the issue though.

@InvisibleWings I don't see any user groups on my account. It could have something to do with my account email being different than the paypal email I used to buy her. It's good to know it's an error and not something I just needed to wait a bit longer for.

 

I bought my first SD sized doll! She's a Liz from 2005. I have a few questions, if you'll allow them.

Her headplate came off during shipping, presumably due to the cold temperatures making the glue fail. What kind of glue can I use to reattach it? I unfortunately don't have a hot glue gun...

Kind of similar but her headcap is attached with a rubber band! I was hoping to put magnets in her head instead. Has anyone done this before? If so, how did you secure the magnets?

I don't have a DWC 3 myself, so I'm no help there... I've sent a message off to a friend who has an older one to see what hers looks like, though.

Mino's is from 2015 or 2016, I think? No clue if her head plate will be the same as a more recent one.

 

If you can't see owner limited items you should contact VolksUSA asap. The items require specific permissions to be viewed and they've forgotten to assign them to accounts, at least they did for mine. Contact them to have them check the permissions on your accounts!

Congrats on your lovely Liz, @SaltedPretzel ! For the headplate, hot glue or epoxy will work to attach it. I haven’t used any other kid of glues for it so I don’t know if any other kinds work. If you don’t have either at home, I will say that it’s helpful to have epoxy just in case resin parts break sometime down the road. Very helpful stuff.

As for the headcap magnets, I think there are some people in the Customizers Workshop sub forum that have done it before. I’d say drilling out an area on the cap as well as in the base and then using epoxy to attach a magnet in each spot would work. Just be sure the magnet directions are correct before you glue them in and make sure it’s fully dry before putting the two head parts together.
If she has a very spacious and thin head (not sure how thin the resin was back then) you may have to build up the area with sculpting resin/miliput/whatever sculpting stuff you want to use. Then put the magnets in those parts. I haven’t done additive modifications for dolls before so someone else may be more helpful than me.

 

Thanks for the advice! I have some epoxy at home so I'll give it a try. Right now, the headplate is attached with eye putty.
