Carved into the inside of the head is I-M14. I love his ears (I'm a bit of a sucker for non-human ears). It's hard to see some of the details because he is blindingly white but as nice as he looks in the photo, he looks even better in person. he'll be awesome when he gets a face-up (whenever that will be). I don't know who he is yet so I'm not in a rush to get him a body and he won't get a face-up until I get him a body and know who he is. He's living in a drawer for the time being.

    2. @Iron_Dog He looks wonderful! Thank you for sharing him!

    3. I really should throw some eyes in his head but then I'd need to try some wigs on him and then I'd probably figure out who he is and need to buy his body NOW and... I think I may be preaching to the choir here.

    4. Ooooh, I love his face, his jawline, if he's a boy?? Yummy!

      • x 1
    5. I assumed he was a he as in my emails to Impl, when they said they were sending me a gift, I asked them specifically for male items only as I don't collect females. I thought they'd send me an outfit (which they did and Kulfi the,1st wrong Ziv, is currently wearing it). I didn't expect a head but I'm not complaining one bit about that because he's gorgeous.

    6. @Holiday That is great hybriding, and I love Candice's face so I'm excited to see her complete.

    8. Awww yeahhhh another Candice! I love her so much, and am totally excited to see how you end up customizing her.

    9. I'm tempted to sell my Delia. She's getting no love right now.

    10. I feel you. I'm on the fence about my Davina-not a fan of the shrug, or her tiny head. But I'll give it a bit more time-she's only had two faceups and it usually takes me four to get a doll where I want it. She needs better eyes as well.

      • x 2
    11. I decided it's better to splurge on a faceup before I try to sell her. She'd be a hard sell anyway, no one likes that size of lady. But I'm now excited to face her up to something more glamorous.

    12. ...except for the people in this thread, maybe? ;)

    13. I wonder how to restyle her so she's appealing again. I like the idea of tailoring more clothes

    14. Oooo new thread! I've discovered that some "gym wear" style clothes (think stretchy sleeveless tops and baggy pants) for 70cm men can be worn by these big curvy gals. I recently got some from ACBJD for an Angell-Studio boy body (no special measurements needed) and they ended up fitting my newer MGB as well.

On a side note, I have to admit that my short-shoulder MGB (that needed to get modded to fix her perma-shrug) still doesn't appeal to me as much as the original wide-shoulder one (I still love that to pieces). :/ It's not so bad that I'm going to up and sell it, but adunno. She's a hybrid, and I'm kind of thinking of swapping out her head for another sculpt that may fit the proportions better.

    15. I'm curious to see some of the gymwear on the bodies now. I don't have any gals who need gym clothes but I do have that big ol' beefcake who needs something to share with his harem.
I broke my sewing machine but was planning to do a bunch of sewing for my boys. They need fall/winter wear and I'm so excited to try sewing more. Dante's outfit turned out pretty great.

Black sleeveless top: Boy Shirts, BJD Outfits - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls, BJD Accessories - Alice's Collections
Black knee-length pants: Pants, BJD Outfits - BJD, BJD Doll, Ball Jointed Dolls, BJD Accessories - Alice's Collections

Both were for the default 70cm size. The red sash was just repurposed from a preexisting outfit I've made. The pants kind of emphasize the pear shape of the MGB if you don't align her thigh joints properly, but it still looks fine imo.

    19. Does anyone have a current IMPL tan doll? I'm trying to replace a body and I was hoping to find one affordably.

    20. Malachite is back from the artist/modder, Dr. Krow, and I'm crazy pleased with how Malachite turned out. He had a small eye-opening mod, the chip in his forearm at the wrist was repaired and an amazing face-up was done. I gave Dr. Krow nearly a free hand to paint Malachite with some instruction on a few things. One of the things I'd sent was photo references to azurite as it often occurs in stone formations with malachite (Malachite, the person, was born of a malachite geode) and I'd asked if the intense blue could be incorporated into his face-up. I hadn't thought at all of the designs that Dr. Krow did (to mimic the banding of malachite but in azurite blues). Malachite looked so very pleased with himself with the face-up Dr. Krow did that it was obvious that was what he wanted.

Malachite, the adult, has been picky as hell and wildly changed his appearance from his child self (Impl Simon Colourful Life Green) over what I had planned. He was supposed to have black hair and it was never to be longer than just past his shoulders. Now it's white and pretty much waist-length. He was supposed to have intense azurite blue eyes with black sclera. Now they're white iridescent sclera with blue/green heterochromia. He had no facial markings as a child but now does as an adult. Difficult doll is difficult  but I absolutely love the way he turned out.

This is Malachite. He is the God of Crystal & Stone.

    21. Wow it's so nice to see Malachite finally in his near-complete form!

The new dolls are looking so good I'm really excited and trying not to spend more.

    22. It's been a journey and a half to get him as he needed to be but I'm beyond pleased with how he turned out.

I want to get a body for the prototype head Impl sent me but I'm also trying to be good about spending. We shall see if I'm successful but I have to be honest and don't have high hopes for being good about spending on resin.

    23. does anyone own a lanny? i'd love to see some pictures of his sculp either blank or at least not with the promo face up

    24. I haven't even received my first doll and I've already decided on my second and maybe third...! :aeyepop:

Second will be Glenn - I love his smirk so much! Now the only problem is deciding whether to get him in pink or real skin. If Impldoll hadn't changed up their real skin the choice would have been simple. The old one is too yellow/dark for me.

I also worry that if I order him in the real skin and then they suddenly go back to the old darker real skin. Which I definitely don't want...

Sorry for rambling a bit. :huh?: I've just been thinking about this so much lately and needed to share. I also haven't doll any friends or relatives yet about this hobby, so I have no one else to talk to about these problems.

    28. Might not be much help, but here's 2022 Tan (left) and Brown (right).

Not the best pic, but here's Dabria in Brown with the default faceup. She's from this year. ^^

    29. thank you so much! she's beautiful!

    30. I forgot how orange the tan was. Brown is too pale. Curse tan for being such a fickle resin to match!

    31. There is no standard tan *sigh*. Even within a company (I'm looking at you, Soom) there is no standard. I wish more companies would do a darker tan as the standard but I also know darker resin is more difficult to cast.

The only caveat to tan matching would be (in my experience) the AoD tan (which they no longer do *heavy sigh*). I have 2 tan AoD boys (first owner for 1, 2nd hand for the body of the other) and despite there being several production years between them and unknown exposure of the body of the 2nd hand one, the tans are so close to being identical in colour it's not really worth mentioning the difference.

      • x 3
    32. I'm also going to mention that when LoongSoul used to offer tan as a standard option, the stability was really impressive. There was an unfortunate orange tan blip between 2 of my tan dolls that perfectly match, but the matching ones are about 4 years apart.

It kills me how light Impl's Brown has gotten, it almost looks like their old Real Skin :sigh

      • x 1
    33. I have 2 MD tans (1 new, 1 2nd hand of unknown age) and they are identical as far as I can tell. They're a nice butterscotch colour. The old AoD tan was/is butterscotch colour. The 2nd hand MD head is on a tan Angell Studio body from 2012 and it's lighter (I had the head blushed to match) but still a nice light tan that isn't masquerading as real/normal skin.

Impl had to find a new colour blender in the last year or two so perhaps this is why their new tan is so light?

      • x 1
    34. I suppose I could just blush to match. Curse tan for being so tricky! I was hoping a company with colour matching and a strong tan game would be the answer. Looks like I'll have to wait.

    35. Impl will colour match if you wanted to go that route. I'd highly recommend sending them a paint chip/swatch to match. When I did this to get the correct shade of green for Malachite they matched the chip I sent exactly and it wasn't big money for the custom colour.

      • x 2
    36. I’m going this route when I start what I’m affectionately calling my Colour Hell Order. It’s just bodies to match all my unmatchable heads (light blue, dark blue, obsidian and possibly teal?)

How long did it take for your swatches to reach impldoll? I’m not worried about them going missing, as much as I’m hoping to know when to write them off as missing and send more, because CanPost has been brutal lately.

    37. I think it took about 18 days to go from southern Ontario to Impl in China. I let Impl know when I sent the sample and I think there was tracking included on it (it was a while back so I'm not 100% sure about if it was included or I paid extra for that) so I saw when they received it. I gave them a day after that and emailed to make sure that they did receive it. I also attached the sample to a letter stating what the sample was for (i.e. Model Ziv).

Further to all of that when he was done I asked for a photo of the doll with the sample to make sure the colour was correct since I'd received 2 incorrect green Ziv's already.

      • x 1
    38. Yep! I remember your 3 Ziv situation! I’m so glad they got the right colour on the end. 18 days isn’t terrible either—I’m shipping a doll to someone in China, and I paid just so much money for 6 day shipping with insurance, so I knew o couldn’t justify using ups for a couple of paint chips.

      • x 2
    39. It was still expensive in my opinion to send a single chip and a single sheet letter. But I got exactly the colour I wanted so it all worked out in the end. And because of the colour mix up, I ended up with Kulfi, Rhyia (Soom Euclase) and Akusuo (Dollshe Hound) and a HUGE novel for their story as well as making a friend extremely happy by giving her the 2nd Ziv for her b'day.

She's an Impldoll Zona with a faceup by pistachidoll on IG!
No body yet as i think i'll be making her a gorgeous bust to sit on and display my eyes that i create.
She's my first impldoll and they're so gorgeous, didn't realise how small their heads were though!

    41. Quick question for any Star owners, would I be better off sticking to the 64cm body or paying extra for the MGB body? I love the idea of the shoulder shrug and the extra mobility, but is it a pain in ass in practice for like dressing and making look nice?

      • x 2
    42. I constantly regret not getting the MGB body to be honest. Most of Impl's recent pics on Instagram are featuring MGB and it looks good to me in terms of aesthetics. I don't care much about the shoulder joint, but the neck and the extra hip joint add so much to posing.
Hope this helps you anyhow, let's see if there will be any comments from MGB owners.

      • x 4
    43. I am very excited about the neck joint too tbh since the character I'm shelling loves to slouch. Your unboxing pics of your Sicily helped me decide that I really wanted that sculpt so thank you for them! :)

      • x 4
    44. You're very welcome! I'm glad that I could help, and that there might be one more Sicily out there. She's my favorite sculpt ever :3nodding:

    45. I admit, my plans are a different energy than your Sicily but I'm excited for her!

    46. That's great, she can be super versatile. I'd love to see how your plans turn out. Kudos on your sculpt choice again haha

    49. Hey all, I know there's a heap of past threads of impldoll discussions, but I'm looking for specific information and the DoA search function isn't the greatest...

Anyone have an Impldoll (female) star head on a body that's 60cm or shorter? I'm planning on shelling an OC but I have 2 problems with the Impldoll Star body: The first being that the body is way too curvy in the chest and hips for my OC. And the second is that I would *ideally* want her to be shorter.

I saw the great pics of the Candice head on the Dollshe body. I'm not particularly a fan of that body and I'd like to see if anyone else has put an Impldoll head on any other bodies? Thanks!

      • x 1
    50. @Mainframe110
I have Delia on a Spiritdoll Proud body, she's very willowy compared to my muscle girl

      • x 1
    51. That’s just a little too tall for me, but that’s a lovely body! Thanks for sharing!

      • x 1
    52. I have an azelea head the shared a supia body, the original willowy small one, and I think she looked really good on it, I can try to see if I have old photos but all my dolls are packed up right now. That said I think the supia body worked so well because even though it is small it does have shoulders lol I’m not sure how other bodies would work in that scale, that said the idol heads are small and I think could fit on many bodies.

      • x 2
    53. Wow, she's gorgeous!! Definitely going to take a look at this sculpt.

      • x 4
    54. I also asked them if I could order a different outfit and they said yes so hopefully I will be able to soon order a Sicily with Eudora's outfit

      • x 4
    55. I'm going to chime in to suggest that the issue is less head size (because Impl's recent sculpts are trending towards pinheaded) but the massive neck hole. I've got a Sicily head, her neck hole is all the way to her jawline and a very stretchy 7in wig fits just fine.
Personal hot take, big SD sized dolls should not have minifee-sized heads :|

      • x 4
    56. Aaah I was looking at one of the Supia bodies! They’re gorgeous and I saw that the neck size is roughly the same measurement as Impldoll’s. The one thing I was worried about was the scale but it sounds like it was a good match! Thanks for the info! If you do happen to find a pic I’d love to see it

      • x 2
    57. As someone who mostly has 1/4 dolls and one 72cm boy, it’s funny to me how it seems like the bigger dolls get after 60-65cm, the smaller their heads become? Like so many properly 1/3 dolls I’ve seen and have owned in the past have had HUGE heads, like 8/9 and even 9/10. But my 72cm boy has a 7/8 head and could very honestly look proportionate on a body that’s 10-15cm shorter.

I have found there are a handful of shorter bodies that have the same neck measurements (Doll Family H’s 58cm body is one I have in mind) but the question is if the hole in the head will match up with the neck. Questions, questions…
