IMPL dolls 64cm Star, 58cm Model and 72cm Idol line Discussion thread Part 5

    1. Some new spam - my Idol Marcus :)

Today, after 8 months that I waited for the delivery of Tony's head that I ordered via Angelesque, I have decided to cancel the order for it. The last drop was when Impldoll sent to Angelesque as my order Joshua's head instead of Tony's. I am curious how much they will request as cancel fee as the head cost 60 GBP. I just reached the point where I could no longer accept another apology and delay - to wait for blank head for 8 months and still not get it is beyond my limit of patience. I will get the Gnaeus' head as it was delivered, but no Tony for me. Well there will be quite a lot of heads to share one body as I have two Marcus' heads already.

    2. thanks for starting this new thread boudica :D I'm sorry to hear your Tony head never arrived, after all that waiting! I hope you can get your money back, as that is really ridiculous having to wait 8 months for nothing. It is good to see your Marcus is as gorgeous as ever - that look totally suits Marcus!

    3. boudica, thanks for starting the new thread! There's also an IMPL Idol database that you could add to the first post, if you want.
I'm really sorry to hear about all the troubles you've been having with trying to get that Tony head! :( It seems so ridiculous that you've waited 8 months for a blank head, and then they've sent the wrong head in the end. Honestly, I don't blame you for deciding to cancel your order. Hopefully, you won't have to pay too much for a cancel fee.

Just in reply to stuff from the old thread, thank you elve for the suggestion of Dollmore shoes. Dollmore Model feet are almost as big as Idol feet, but I have both a Dollmore Model boy and of course an Idol boy, and I think Ipledreamer might be right about the ankle size. Noé (Dollmore Kyle) has positively delicate ankles compared to Gabriel. I think low shoes, like loafers and running shoes might fit, though. I'll definitely look into that. Noé needs shoes too, so when his shoes arrive, I can try them on Gabriel or Zach.

elve, that is a really adorable photo of Richard and Elodie. :aheartbea They look so cute all snuggled together like that. It's good they've made up. :) And yes...I think I can predict what your ADAD photo for tomorrow will be! ;) hehe my two lovebirds haven't left their room very much over the past couple of days. They seem to be basically ignoring everyone else in the household...

New thread spam! Okay...so this photo isn't new, but I'm pretty sure I haven't shared it on here before. It's one of my favourites.
For anyone who doesn't speak French, the title is "Incomparable Love".

    4. Thank you elve and SapphireStargazer for your support ;). I wished to have Tony at the beggining but at the end I was just tired to get info that it's the wrong head they sent to Angelesque :doh. So I will no longer spend energy trying to get some info.

elve - Marcus is very pleased that you like his style .
SapphireStargazer - thanks for the link for IMPL Idol database, I added it into the first post :daisy. Gabriel and Élise looks so in love :aheartbea

    5. Sweet, new thread gotta comment on it so it shows up in my participated threads on tapatalk lol. Been working pretty regularly on Zoey's drumset as she watches impatiently. Working on the mounts for the snares? tonight.

My mom saw Zoey's assortment of drums and was less than thrilled about me making a drumset for a doll. Something about a 25 year old man making things for dolls seems to bother her. This coming from the woman who raided my closet when she saw a long Hot Topic box because she thought I got them there. I'm afraid to tell them they came from China cause they'd probably assume the commies put some kind of posion in them lol.

    6. I am back again, too. Nothing new here, I am crafting a little piece of decoration at the moment.

    7. Regarding the wrong head sent you know what? Several people got mishap in matter of heads, i know that someone got a John head instead of Deborah head
I guess that IMPLdoll doens't have any records of head only orders so they mistaken often the mold of heads, but i agree that 8 months are deffo too much!

    8. Boudica i'm such sorry for this really, i hope that you can have your money back, afetr 8 months of waiting i completely understand that you cannot take anymore excuses and delay....
Guess that is finally time for ImplDoll to open a page for heads only as honestly they sent wrong heads too often...

    9. Woot! New thread! *dances* While Marius and Wynter make out.
Marius is an Impl Chapman, Wynter is an AOD Qian.

    10. I have a Dorisy and I think I mentioned when I got her that her head is so tiny compared to her body. I'm eventually going to order a smaller body but how do I go about getting a head? I see people talking about ordering heads but I can't find anything on the site that mentions purchasing them separately.

    11. Catopolis I emailed impldoll using the contact email on their website. I asked them how much would Tony head cost, in pink skin with faceup, and if this is possible, how much postage, and how to pay? Keep the English simple. They emailed back the cost and asked for my paypal email and shipping address, if I wanted to go ahead with the order. I sent them my paypal email addy, and they then sent me an invoice through paypal, which I just had to click 'pay now' on from the email. Only took about 8 weeks I think it was, to delivery - it takes less time if you don't need faceup though.

I am loving all these cute couples SapphireStargazer and Siccah - they are a lot more passionate than my 2 lovebirds - I think Elodie is a bit of a prude in fact :XD:

    12. Wow Siccah great shot! They're lovely together!

    13. That's a beautiful photo, Siccah! They look like they don't want to be interrupted. ;)

elve, I think Richard and Elodie are very sweet together. :aheartbea Passion isn't everything. It seems they're taking it slow and making sure things are going right. :) lol I don't think there are any prudes among my resin folk...at least among the big resin folk anyway. Shameless flirting seems to be a common pastime for Zach and Noé, and of course Gabriel and Élise can't keep their eyes (or their hands) off each other. :wiggle

Gabriel wanted to say hello and show everyone the flowers he picked in our back garden.

    14. Hello Everyone! I'm just checking in to the new thread. I've been up to my eyeballs in spring cleaning. At least as much as I can do on my own. Not much dolly time lately, except that I've found a spot in my living room to set up a little diorama where I can take photos. I am really digging into moving boxes and clearing out the area. *_*

Boudica, Siccah, SapphireStargazer thanks for posting photos, and everyone else for their comments and postings. Even if I'm not doing so much for my dolls right now, I do enjoy taking a few minutes out of washing winter linens, pushing dust around, and following the vacuum, to sit down and read the thread, and see the new pictures. Keep up the good work.;)

    15. Hey Grouchy Gnome! *waves* Sounds like you're having fun with the spring cleaning. ;) The diorama sounds interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing that when it's finished. They can be a lot of fun. I'm finding that I'm enjoying the bigger one a lot more than any of the smaller ones I've ever made. (Unfortunately, the lighting is bad in my home office where I've placed it :doh). Hopefully yours is in a more well-lighted area than mine!
hehe...Élise insists that we must redecorate. She says that if she has to share the room with Gabriel, it should not look like a 'man cave'. She's thinking white and pink wallpaper, and she says the leopard-print bedspread absolutely has to go. Gabriel is cringing at the thought of living in a 'girly' room. I'm trying to help them reach a compromise. ;)

Gabriel has had plenty of camera time over the weekend, and of course everyone knows by now that I'm a serial spammer...so I can definitely do new pictures. ;) Here's our boy getting up to no good and interfering with Élise's dance practice. :XD:

    16. Ah well...spring cleaning is overdue. Our windows also need a good clean. But my new job is psycologically eating me up. I have just decided to search for another one. Regarding Élise's and Gabriel's room: Maybe something a little pink and a little leopard (a cute little leopard plushie perhaps?) could be something both of them can live with?

    17. SapphireStargazer; Sylvie Anne wanted me to make sure that when I set up the diorama, that I please include a room for her and Drake.
She is sure she could get him to be more romantic, if they were not staying on my living room couch with 7 other dolls, ( 2 being headless) and 4 vampires, 2 of those being children. ( I can't say that I blame her; crowded conditions with that kind of mixed company can be very distracting.) *_*
Thorne is sitting kind of in the middle. Drake and Sylvie on one side, two headless ladies on the other, and the Vampires next to them. He doesn't say much, just casts me pleading glances, and keeps staring at the headless ladies on his right. I think he's hoping for heads soon, and introductions to follow closely after that. He did mention Richard and his lady, and to tell Elve that he hopes everything is okay with them.

Sylvie Anne wants me to tell Elise, that pink and white wallpaper sounds nice, but it might be a bit emasculating for Gabriel. Maybe they could come up with a nice compromise like Ipledreamer suggested? :thumbup
Sylvie knows Drake's preferences fall into the burgundy and purple tones; colors a Dark Elf would naturally favor, and she is okay with that as long he doesn't want black on the walls.
She heard two of the three dolls sitting across the room, in the company chair, discussing decorating. They are All OT dolls, but 2 are vampires and cousins as well, and one of them is single, and wants his room all black. Sorin says as long as he has no woman living with him he can do the decorating according to his own tastes. I politely reminded him that I had the last word on that plan!
(My home is overrun with pushy vampires.)
:sneaky Drake is not commenting on decorating. He just wants to know what his friend Zach is doing, and to say hello.

    18. LOL that is a hilarious post Grouchy Gnome :XD: As for Spring cleaning well I can't be bothered - life's too short. I have had 2 huge clearouts this year though, and sent a total of one lorry full, and 2 vans full of furniture and clutter to the charity shop - thank goodness they collect or I'd be forced to put it in a skip, which really upsets me as it's such good stuff (and I have no car). But cleaning? No chance LOL - So my dolls live in a perilously dusty and mouldy (overflowing gutters - landlord doesn't care) environment! Windows open all day though - hopefully we will all survive, although the bad news is the landlord tells me they are replacing the entire roof, along with gutters, this WINTER - joy - I guess the dolls will have to be packed up for their own safety as it will probably take MONTHS :...(

Lovely spam as usual SapphireStargazer - keep feeding me! :D

    19. Ipledreamer, I'm sorry to hear your job is so psychologically draining. :( I think we've all had a job like that at some point in our lives. I hope you'll be able to find the right job for you! lol as for the pink leopard plushie, Élise says she could definitely go for that. Gabriel is just nodding and smiling. These days, he seems willing to go along with mostly anything if it makes Élise happy. He is definitely drawing the line at pink wallpaper though. ;)

lol Grouchy Gnome I enjoyed the description of how everyone's situated in your living room at the moment. :D Poor Thorne...looking longingly at those headless ladies! Hopefully one of them will be his type (once they get their heads on straight lol) Zach is laughing about that...he says he's heard of women losing their heads over a guy, but not literally. :XD:

Élise says thank you to Sylvie for the decorating advice. She still really wants wallpaper with pink flowers, but agrees that it would be asking a lot for Gabriel to be comfortable in a pink and white room. She seems to have settled on blue ("A pretty and delicate blue...not a tough, manly blue.") and Gabriel has agreed that blue would be acceptable. I've been telling her that she can put pink wallpaper in the baby's room...at which point she and Gabriel give each other the look and start behaving like junior high kids with a crush. ;)

I like Drake's colour palette! :love He would probably approve of my room. I'm in the process of redecorating and I'm painting my walls purple. In fact, I am going to be painting on Friday. Yay holidays! :XD:

Zach is up to no good, as usual. He says "Hey" to Drake. Zach thinks he should have his own room. He says he'd decorate it in shades of black, silver and orange, and no girls would ever be moving in with him to boss him around and tell him his colours were too manly. Of course, he might have difficulties in the colour department when Aubrey gets here. (ordering him once my July bills are paid...yay!!) Aubrey would probably be more amenable to Élise's "delicate" blue than he would be to black.

Thanks for the comment on my photos elve! Glad you're enjoying them!
Oh dear...sounds like your landlord could learn a thing or two about property management! I just can't imagine replacing a roof in winter! My dad is a contractor and I know he would not replace a roof in winter unless it was a true emergency....or unless the client really insisted. It's not just for the comfort and safety of the homeowner but also for the safety of the workers. I know it's probably not as bad in winter where you live as it is here, but still... I hope when the landlord gets around to it that he hires a competent contractor that can get it done in a few weeks instead of several months!

    20. I wonder if it's better to use Alice as a 3rd party to make purchases and if Alice's collection would act as a filter for correcting these order mistakes. i've been shopping through Alice for about a year now and i've been really happy with their service. i'm not sure how they function as a 3rd party, and i have had to wait a fair bit for some orders. i ordered an illusion spirit head and it took 4 months, but it did arrive and it's beautiful.
i ordered my Impldoll Marcus back in late April from Alice's collection too, still waiting for that....impatiently.
on a different note, has anyone tried to mod a Tony head? i adore the mold but i'm not that excited about the butt chin X.X
is there anyone out there who's done their own faceup on Marcus and wouldn't mind sharing pix? i'm planing on doing my own but i have a feeling it'll be a very difficult head to work with as far as the eyes and eyebrows go.

    21. MaryamDM I like Alices too - that might be a good idea in fact. I know Alices send off the order as soon as they get it, rather than waiting till the end of the month like all the other dealers do - presumably their postage is next to nothing as they're in China too (which is why dealers in other parts of the World wait till they have a batch of orders to send) My Marcus took 9 weeks from when I ordered, so you have at least a couple of weeks to wait still I'm guessing?

thanks SapphireStargazer :aheartbea Unfortunately my landlord is the government! Think of the Vogons from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy! To add insult to injury they have just tripled my rent and doubled my housing tax, with no warning - I apparently got a discount before as my son was technically 'a child' - he's just left college so is now apparently'an adult' :sweat They 'renovated' the house a few years ago too (just cosmetic stuff - nothing important like gutters or brickwork of course) Well talk about 'cowboy builders' (is that just a UK term?) I could have wired the sockets better myself! So to say I am dreading the roof coming off is an understatement - I think it will be a very long job, and my dolls will have to be packed away for their own safety I guess :pout:

    22. @MaryamDN: I modded my Tony head. As Chris Evans/Steve Rogers does not have that groove, it had to go. And I also happen to own a Marcus, whose faceup I did. But he is a bit unusual...he portrays Thor and thus is a blond guy. He was quite fun to paint and yes, he looks super serious.

    23. elve i've had great experience with their shipping including free shipping on my doll heads. so for example i got my illusion spirit head for something like $77 and didn't pay a shipping fee :)
they also let you take advantage of events and sometimes offer their own specials too so i find them totally worth partnering with when i want to purchase a doll. they constantly add to their doll companies too, i think the latest company they've added is Island doll which also has some very lovely sculpts [my fav are Odin, Thor, and Loki ASIR collection]...anyhow, i hope they keep adding companies, i really like buying through them and so far no problems.

Ipledreamer ^.^ oooh how did it go? have any pix you wouldn't mind sharing?

    24. Thanks for support $avage. I hope too that I will get some money back - I have not received any reply from Angelesque yet.

      Nice photo Siccah :).

elve - When I compare your 8 weeks of waiting for head to my 8 months I would cry. Your way to order the head directly from company is for sure much better. If I ever want to get head only I order it from Impldoll directly too.

SapphireStargazer - all your photos of Gabriel and Élise are so lovely :)

I have done faceup for my Marcus. It is the head with the molded beard in Anti-UV special real skin. I used MSC as the sealant, the artist's aquarell coloured pencils (Mondeluz from Koh-i-noor) and artist's soft pastels (Toison d'Or also from Koh-i-noor). I spent on it several hours, as I wanted it to look realistic (well it's limited by my skills) and sealed it in several layers of MSC.

Unfortunatelly I do not have many detailed photos, so I will only repost one of the pictures I uploaded in previous thread.

If you want I can take more detailed photos without the hair in the way.

    25. Okay, here is on of Marcus/Thor (of course, he has also the sculpted beard): [IMG]

    26. Boudica & Ipldreamer: thank you both for the pictures. my Marcus wont have facial hair, i just dont think i'm ready to pull that off yet though i love how Impl has done their texturing on the beard. my biggest concern is really the eyebrows. i'll post pix when i get there...once he arrives. it feels like forever even though it's only been about 9 weeks.

just out of curiosity, did yours come with a randome pair of eyes?

    27. Here I have a pic of my slightly modded Tony head: [IMG] Regarding eyes: The Marcus head contained a pair of eyes, but not the gift Tony head.

    28. So far the eyes sent with my 2 idol boy heads have been totally useless - one pair were bright purple and the other pair were bright turquoise! They look good in my dragons though - certainly not human.

    29. Hi! ^^
My Chezze (mod. Juno) don't have his own body yet, so he is on the AOD girl body.

(Skintones: Impldoll real skin 2013, AOD - normal yellow 2013)

    30. MaryamDN; I read on Impldoll's website, that eyes will only be provided if you order a face up. (But then, I have replaced all eyes that have come with my dolls except for two, so it doesn't really count for me. I prefer to use soft silicon eyes.):abambi:

      Elve; I agree with you....read what I told MaryamDN.:aeyepop:

Boudica & Ipledreamer; It's a pleasure to see your men again!:)

      I have a question for everyone, please;
Does anyone remember who it was that posted back in our last batch of threads, about the free color mixing offered by Impl?

They were going to order one, and I'm thinking about doing so for my next doll, and wondered about the results.
If that member should read this, please post in this new thread if you got your doll, and let us all know how the color match turned out!

SapphireStargazer; When are you going to Photography Camp this summer, that is if you're still planning to go? Are any of your resin children going with you?

Hello Hikihiki; Welcome to the thread!
Oh dear, isn't your poor boy confused on that girl body? I Hope he gets his very own body soon!:XD:

    31. Ipledreamer: thanks for the modded pic, that definitely given me an idea of what Tony would look like with out the company chin.

Grouchy Gnome: oh yeah, thats true O.o totally forgot about that detail. i end up replacing them anyway but wanted to make sure i had enough temporary ones ...i'm loosing count now <.< have to go double check again.

elve: well so long as you can use them else where :)!

i really want to make my own eyes at some point, my projects are becoming too ambitious though. I need to take a deep breath and finish these darn commissions first....dont get me wrong, i love my commissions... just dont like how messy my life is right now >.<

    32. Grouchy Gnome, I was surprised but not. He looks very confident. Maybe it's because I look at him and see my character Chezze regardless of he is on girl body. I hope too, but I don't have enough money to buy it till end of this year. It's make me feel sad. T___T And I also must finally decide about doll company and skintone. Choosing it is always so difficult.

    33. Hikihiki; You are correct. Chezze does look confident. Very Confident. He looks like he can handle all sorts of people or problems.
I've known some pretty tough red heads in my time. Chezze definitely could be one of them! Congratulations!;)

    34. When I see my guys that close, I am still tinkering whether I should add eyelashes or not...somehow they look like something is missing...

    35. Wow! You describe his character in one sentence. According with the story he is freelancer, captain of the spaceship, so he must be confident.

Ipledreamer, of course try to add. If you don't like, you will always can remove it easily. =)

    36. Chezze will make a great guy hikihiki :aheartbea I hope you can find a body you like for him soon - I think he is shocked at the size of his chest LOL :XD:

Ipledreamer I have no eyelashes in a lot of my smaller dolls, but these big dolls can easily use some I think - My Tony has the default lashes, and he's so big I haven't even noticed them yet, whereas they often bug me on smaller dolls as they are too big for their eyes. Alices collections sell all different colours of lashes, but I found them very thin, so I use a double layer of them, on some double sided craft tape, which I stick just inside the eye socket - I have never tried glueing them though so that may be easier?

    37. I agree with hikihiki and elve, I would try to add the eyelashes too ;). My Marcus has eyelashes, if you do not want them to be too prominent, you can shorten them - I have done that, so they are there but they do not turn the attention from his eyes. It's the same as with the real people, some have really long eyelashes, some have short eyelashes. As both of your guys are blond maybe you could try to apply blond eyelashes too - they would not be so visible but will add more realistic look.
On the other hand I have seen a lot of BJD guys that look marvelous and do not have any eyelashes, so it depends on how you feel about them ;)

    38. Double sided tape - that's genius. One reason my guys have no eyelashes is that I found superglue often plain awful - sticks everywhere, the lash to the finger, but it just does not want to stick to the eyewell.

    39. I use some tape I got with birthday card making craft supplies Ipledreamer - And I can't take credit for the idea, it's just the way dollzone and impldoll put their lashes in :)

    40. Okay, the debate is glue vs. tape for eyelashes.

Since I learned to use glue on eyelashes when making porcelain dolls, I still use glue for the resin dolls. Aleene's white "fast tack" glue, that dries clear. And use it very sparingly. Apply glue to the inside upper edge of the eye socket, (with the head turned upside down so you can see what you're doing.) Use pointy wooden toothpicks and put tiny drops of glue spaced carefully around the inside of the upper lid. Attatch lashes by pressing firmly with a clean toothpick at both ends, and in the center of each lash until it adheres properly. Set entire head aside, still in upside down position and leave overnight to dry, before putting eyes in.:abambi:
But first, make sure you didn't glue the lashes in upside down! (When you hold the head upright, and look directly into the face, the curl of the lashes goes upward and not downward.)*_*

I have never used the double sided tape method, but it sure sounds like a LOT easier way to go,...Elve!:doh

      Ipledreamer;
Whether you use double sided tape , or glue, is for you to choose. But please, dear, don't ever use superglue! :horror:
(That is just asking for a screaming nightmare!) :XD:

SapphireStargazer: Did your room turn purple today? Drake wants to know what shade you used? Lilac, lavender, royal purple, dusty plum, or.......maybe even eggplant?:sneaky

    41. hmm i'm going to be trying my first eyelash application on a BJD...i'm not liking this feeling though. i've done the faceup and i'm 97% happy with it so i dont want to ruin the faceup but i really think he'll look much better with eyelashes [this is for my Illusion Spirit Tosaca head but i need practice before i do my Marcus's eyelashes]
i just got an email from Alice saying that Marcus and the crazy event doll Kuka have been shipped ^.^ so i should have them in about 2 weeks hopefully <3

    42. MaryamDN; Congratulations on your Marcas (and Kuka!) that will arrive soon!:dance

I just got an email from DDE that my Lieve's body (AND Kuka) will arrive on my doorstep next Tuesday. Then I really have to get busy;
Lieve Roel Van Rees is my Gnaeus head (blank) that I teasingly refer to as my Flying Dutchman. With his body almost here, I'd better scare up a sunny day real soon to spray his head and a few others, and get busy doing face ups! I've stalled long enough.......but then, the weather here hasn't exactly been cooperating. It was sunny first thing this morning, so I let my two cats go out into the back yard. I was busy on the computer, when I felt two cold, wet cats under my desk, rubbing on my legs. I looked outside and the rain was coming down. :arainclou:arainclou They didn't stay outside for long! Thanks for the wet pantlegs cats!:kitty1:kitty2

(What are we ever going to do with all the Kukas?):nowords:

    43. Grouchy Gnome: build a scary Kuka army of course! seriously what's with Kuka O.O ??? he's got the devils smile! i'm not sure i want to keep mine:nowords:
oooh that must be exciting to have them all coming in at around the same time. Flying Dutchman sounds appropriate :P

    44. My Juno should be here Tuesday as well! I'm disappointed because I work Tuesday so I won't be able to get started on doing his face-up right away, but oh well. I am planning on going up and picking the materials *to* do the face up tomorrow - it'll be my first, so hopefully I don't screw it up -and I want to double check; Testor's dullcoat should be safe on the resin that Impldoll uses, right? The sealant thread mentions its been known to damage some dolls.

    45. Lothlin: congratulations on your Juno :) and good luck on your first faceup. the number one safest sealant spray is Mr super clear. i've heard some people use Testors dollcote but i would personaly be worried about using it on my dolls simply because i haven't heard that many people use it...not to say it doesnt work. a bunch of websites say it's fine including this person

MSC is fairly readily available on-line though, even on Amazon.

    46. Well, see, I happen to have a large amount of Testor's hanging around from using it on wargame miniatures. So if it's safe on this particular resin I'd almost prefer it, since it'd save me almost twenty bucks plus a wait to ship it from Japan... buuttttt the twenty bucks would be worth it if it saves doll damage.

On another note, somehow I managed to order him like two days before Impldoll announced their Kuka event, so I missed out on the little dude. WHOOPS.

    47. oooh Congrats on your Juno Lothlin :dance As for sealants, you could try it on the headcap maybe - assuming that will be covered by a wig? I guess you'd need to leave it for a couple of days to see if there was any bad reaction though, which is no good if you're in a hurry. I confess I don't use any sealant, or proper faceup materials, but I use a minimum of paint, and they are my dolls so it's up to me what I do with them! *bad me* :XD:

    48. Just a though about sealent: MSC has a lot of bad reviews recently, from frosty effect on dark resin color, to chipping, to blisters and so it goes.
Time to move on and find another sealant, it's well known that bjd hobby refers merely to MSC that is pricey and in my humble opinion fairly overrated. There are a lot of good sealants around: army painter, purity seal, testor dullcote, obscurium, lukas, tamiya.
I've tried most of them and works great and safely on polyurethane resin, you need just to check if the sealant works also on plastic, if is safe on plastic then it's safe also for polyurethane resin.
Remember to use gloves, respirator mask, and spray outdoors, indoors is not a good option cause the mist needs to go OUT and not staying inside cause this stuff, whatever you will use, damages furnitures and also could be absorbed by walls, fabrics etc moreover is toxic so keep it away from pets and food as well.

    49. Lothlin: I'm sorry you missed out on Kuka :) but something tells me there will be many of MP soon. that doll scares me O.O
I waited almost a moth for my MSC which was fine at the time since my heads took longer to arrive but i wonder if the ones on Amazon are being sold from inside North America and if they take less time to arrive. either way the fact that you save close to $27 if you just use your Testors does make it hard to decide.... maybe try it on the inside of the head cap and see, like elve suggested?

elve: really? isn't the surface slippery without a sealant? i was doing some touch ups on one of my heads and had to remove all the make up and sealant from the area and repaint it, but when i began to repaint i forgot to seal first and the whole time i was wondering why my colours weren't staying on O.o i wish i could do faceups without sealant...it would save me lots of money and waiting time X.X i was going through your flicker photos and your faceups are so delicate and pretty!

    50. MaryamDM I should say noooooooo the ones on my flickr dolls are NOT my faceups - I wish they were! :XD: Those are dollzone default faceups - I am a total amateur and have only done a couple of event heads so far - although I am fairly happy with the results, I know most people are a lot better at it than I will ever be! I use household emulsion paints for my faceups - they are pretty much the same as modern gouache paints (ie acrylic paint with an opaque binder/filler) so they have great adhesion. They do stain slightly though - if you look at my latest photos on flickr, of my dollzone Freddy with the long red hair and black/white suit on - he has been scrubbed under a tap with a toothbrush, which took most of it off - he had a very bold faceup before, with huge purple lips and dark eyes. His cheeks were deliberately stained with a technique I developed. and that won't clean off with water - it may clean off with something else but I think they look fine as they are. I would think if I soaked the head in water overnight, I could get all the bits of paint out of the creases too, as acrylic does lift off better when soaked in water, but I will be painting his eyes and mouth again, so there's not much need for that.

    51. ah! :) i see. well he's pretty, i love his lips. i've heard people say you can "boil" doll parts to get rid of yellowing and some staining and that it works well for removing fake up too. basically you dunk your doll part into boiling water and check on it every minute or so...do not let your doll part touch the bottom of your pan, hang it with a string or something.

i haven't personally tried it on a head, but i did reshape by Akagidoll hand and it worked really well. Asenva has a great you tube video of her trying a doll hand too, and another one on cleaning dolls if you;re interested. i personally use acetone free nail polish remover and it works pretty well but getting it out of the colour lips is a pain.

    52. .... I just realised that I missed the start of the new threat. But there are no news on my side. I just hit the 7 month mark since ordering Altairs body. It´s frustrating! Like this I do not know if I ever get a doll from them.

    53. Frankly Kuka's face realllyyyyy creeps me out anyway, so I'm not too shook up that I missed him. Speaking of creepy, I'm really glad I have tomorrow off, because I really wanted to get started on clothing/faceup ASAP now that my guy has arrived. An eyeless, naked, unshaded doll is a tad creepy. Just a tad.

I did notice he's a little snappy; his arms pose perfectly, but his legs seem a little tight, and its making him want to straighten up a lot.. think he'll loosen up?

Have a creepy, faceless, hairless, eyeless, etc pic >>

    54. Lothlin that's not creepy - he looks very beautiful to me, like a piece of sculpture :aheartbea I will agree with you about Kuka though LOL - I wouldn't have got any sleep with him in the house making mischief!

Uminari 7 months?! :horror: Is this through a dealer or direct?

    55. elve I ordered through angelesque but I do not think you can count 7 months into a-little-bit-more-timeframe. I already start to think I get my IP Leonard sooner... even I said to them not send him out before september because I go a month to spain for summerschool

    56. It seems to me that Angelesque has had some issues lately with her orders from Impldoll, the whole doll is not a problem (I received Idol man after 3,5 months wait) but to get only a head or body seems to cause some trouble. As I wrote at the beginning of this thread I canceled my order for Tony's head at the end of 8 months wait. The Gnaeus' head arrived to Angelesque at last though and there will be no cancel fee from Angelesque for the canceled order (for Tony's head and the original wigs for Tony and Gnaues that I ordered 8 months ago and Impldoll did not deliver to Anglelesque).

    57. I known it would be a better idea to order a full doll..... *sigh* I contact them. The problem is that angelesque not answered my last mails. This is the 4th doll I ordered through them and never I had problems before...

    58. I waited from December until June to get my Tony head - Impldoll are not great at sending out parts in a timely fashion it's what puts me off ordering his body any time soon

    59. well my Tony head only took 8 weeks from when I paid - and he had a faceup too. I think ordering direct is probably better than going through a dealer - so it seems anyway? Downside is you pay more in postage and customs fees - although I was lucky with both my impldoll orders, which slipped through customs and in fact arrived unannounced, as I never got a dispatch email from impldoll!
