    2. She looks lovely. I really like her eyes, too.

    3. @Uminari, she is gorgeous!!!! I hope you bond with her better too! She's perfect!

@Iron_Dog, yes, take advantage of the sale! New heads on the FB site too... I will add them here (well, at least 1) soon. LOVE the new fantasy heads!!

    4. I had to go look to see what the new head was. It's beautiful but I like the one they did before with the horn sort of things and the law detailing. I just hope it'll fit the 60cm Miro body I have *crosses fingers*.

    5. New back memories from an old project runway drag queen challenge contestant "Heda Lettuce"

    6. He'd need the big neck version of the buff doll if they keep the heads to their usual 12-12.5 neck sizes. And even then you'd have to whittle the Miro down a bit. OR just fill any gaps with a donut. I think it'd look good though!

    7. No, he's the regular neck version. I'd bought the body originally for Wu-Tyr (Dollshe Orijean head) but he flat out rejected the buff bod and insisted he needed a sleek body. A donut may be my option here. I'll need to measure the Miro neck just to be sure. The character for this is still under-developed so if worst came to worse, I could possibly go with one of the other heads. They're gorgeous as well so it's not like it would be a terrible hardship.

Annnd I just checked and the head I like is supposed to fit on their Star body and the Impl site says that has a neck circumference of 10cm, which is the same as the Miro body I have (I just measured it). So yea! as that head is my fav.

    8. He old male star body is a 10cm neck. The current female Star is a 10cm. The new bigger Star man is a 12cm neck. I have a Nelson head which is a new Star head and he's on a Miro regular body that is a 10cm neck. Now it looks good, but mobility is hampered. Easy enough fix tho.

    9. Ahhh. Nothing on the Impl site that I saw said they'd changed neck sizes so thank you for the info.

I'm not into super posing and I'm massively forgiving of many sins. I think my one hard, non-negotiable rule is that the doll MUST be able to stand unaided. Not forever, mind you (although that is wonderful) but at least long enough for a quick photo. I have a couple of exceptions to that rule but those exceptions are for my Soom Fairy boys as their fantasy feet don't allow for unaided standing (they never wear human feet), my Sugarble Naga although with patience, he can stand on his tail as long as it's curled just right and my Akhmel Nathan who's feet are just soooo tiny I can't see how he'd ever be able to stand unaided (doesn't matter though as I adore him).

    10. I'll take a pic for you. The body stands just fine and the head goes side to side, just not up and down so well. The New Starman heads work well on SID bodies and the new Starman bodies work very well for SID heads. I can show that too. But i think you'd be perfectly fine, then.

    11. You don't have to do that but at the same time, I won't turn that down. Thank you.

    12. Here we go!
      10cm neck
      [IMG]

12cm neck (Well, 13cm actually, this was whittled down)

    13. Thanks for the pics and the descriptions. I didn't know you could buy the upper torso separately. The body I have is NY as that's a very close match to Dollshe oriental (the head that I was going to put on the body. Good to know the Impl real skin is a good match for Miro NY, so thanks for that, too.

    14. No problem! I really like the Starman heads on the Impldoll 65cm buff body. To my eyes, that's the nicest hybrid, but I do have pics of a Chad (Idol) head on a Miro 60cm body and it looks pretty darned good! (He'd need a thicker neck which is longer, so it'd sit better):

    15. Even with the lesser stature of the Miro body, it's beefy enough to handle the head I think.

I think the Miro 60cm is the buffest 1/3 I have although I'd likely have to strip Khale (Leeke 68cm muscle body) to be sure. Funny enough, the Miro 60cm and my SD Double boy both have approximately the same amount of junk-in-the-trunk even though my SD guy isn't nearly as built. They can swap pants fairly well and are close enough in height (1cm diff.) that nobody ends up wearing obvious floods.

    16. haaaaa :) Sewing for Amira the last 2 days like a maniac helped me a lot to bond with her. No wonder I had little feels for her on her arrival. Nobody looks good in that ugly white shirt. She´s a pretty good poser :D

      • x 1
    17. *LOL* Yet she rocked it, as much as anyone could! She is REALLY gorgeous! I can't wait to see her other clothes then!

"She's a pretty good poser" is music to my ears!

    18. Hey guys! Guess what? My Chad finally shipped! <3 So excited. These next few weeks are gonna be filled with so much anticipation.

That excitement aside... Does anyone here think the Soom Phonolus beast legs might fit the Idol body? I think Phonolus was an Idealian, so maybe testing out any Idealian calves in the Impl knee joints might also give us a good idea? A decent fit is good enough for me; I don't mind doing some modding.
(Soom Chrom is my other option. I know that they will fit--after some modding... I just need more options... Unless anyone thinks Wolf's legs would also fit?)

Oooof... I still need to pick up beastie hands (probably from Chrom or Phonolus), horns, and a tail for him. I might just make the latter of the two, since I have a very specific shape in mind, plus it gives me an excuse to make a brushed yarn tail. Then the sewing begins. And the wig making...

    19. Hey guys, I'm interested in getting an Impldoll body for my Iplehouse Carina head. She has an Iplehouse body at the moment, but the match isn't that great as the body is from another year and Iple seems to change their Light Brown resin often. I'm thinking of getting my Carina the awesome muscle body Impldoll offers instead and using their resin matching service, but I had a couple questions first I was hoping someone could help me with:

      1. How good is Impldoll at matching tan/brown resin shades? I want the match as close as possible. 2. Can I order the resin match service via a dealer like Alice's collections, or do I need to work with Impldoll directly? Thank you!

    20. I have a question if no one minds. A while back I believe the Idol man body that was listed at 70(ish) was actually shorter....this was the old Idol body? Is the new one the actual height or is it shorter too? I need a muscular body but want it shorter than 70 and am having the hardest time finding anything.

    21. @VampireAngel13 The measurements you are looking at... do they include the head? Or are they just the body?

    22. I'm not looking at measurements, I'm going by what's been said by owners of the dolls in the past. I would assume they meant with head, since, at the time that's what I was after.

    23. Oh, I see. Well, I do have the newest body coming in soon (he just shipped). If no one else replies by the time I receive him, I can take measurements for you--with and without the head, if you wish. Bare in mind, I got the fantasy version of Chad, so his head might be a bit taller due to the sculpted hair.

I think there were like 3 versions of the Idol body. The measurements on the website have different heights, shoulder widths, and neck sizes. Granted, these may not match up to what people actually got--but it's possible that the owners had one version of the body while looking at the measurements of a different one. I hope this makes sense.

As for a shorter but still muscular body... What about the Star body? I think the newest one is supposed to be pretty muscular. He's listed at about 65cm, but of course could be slightly taller/shorter in real life.

      I hope this helps.

    24. if it helps I have Idol Tony and he is an impressive 72cm from top of head to base of feet. He actually stands 74cm but he is wearing platform boots.....

    25. I....didn't even think about the star body! I just assumed it would be too short, but I could probably make it work...That might actually solve everything. I'll look into it.
And it does make sense about the measurements and different versions. I also had no idea there were three versions of the idol body, I only knew about two. I need to lurk in this thread more I guess XD
      Thank you!!

      This does help, thank you!!

    26. I have Joshua. I believe he's on the first version Idol body, and he's 72cm with regular shoes on.

    27. @VampireAngel13 The Idol heads looks pretty good on the Starman/SID sized bodies. I don't have the new buff Star but I have a SiD and I could plop an Idol head on it for you. Chad does have extra height thanks to resin hair if you get the beast version. I have a first gen Plaice I could measure. OK, Plaice has a big dome, but top of crown to bottom of bare feet, he is 70cm. (The Beast Chad looked OK even on a 60cm Miro buff body, so I imagine he'd look great on the Starman!)

@missmerrythe3rd Impl is pretty darned impressive with their color matches.I trust them the most out of all the doll companies to match well. I would order such a thing directly with Impl in case there are questions or adjustments to be made, that way you don't have a 3rd party slowing things down. Impl is good at responding quickly! And Carina would look AWESOME on a muscle body! 65cm size or Idol 70?

    28. She looks SO much better in owner pics! Congrats!!

      • x 1
    29. The Star body's measurements are very similar to Iplehouse's SID, if that helps.

    30. if they have the same measurements I could go look at SIDs. Thanks!

    31. That's awesome news, thank you so much for your response! I'll work with them directly, then, I just wasn't sure about possible language barriers. I'll be getting the 65cm size, 70cm dolls are a bit too big for me I find. I hope to get my Carina some Impl friends in the future too, Cecelia and Aurora are on my wish list. ^_^

    32. Just dropping by to share the results of my recent Taobao shoes expedition for my dolls who have IMPLdoll bodies. I'm sure many of us have encountered the pain of buying shoes that should have fitted, but did not (especially for the big boys and girls).

I was searching a long time for boots for my Idol male (mine is a first-generation body). I have two sizes of this particular pair of Sunny's boots, and the clear-cut choice is get the biggest size possible (Google translate shows it as the "Uncle A" or "Foreign Minister" size). I made the mistake of ordering the regular "Uncle B" or "regular 1/3" and not only did it not fit the feet, it wouldn't even close on the calves.

My Starwoman is wearing the red and black variant of these pumps from Yomi. While I managed to get them to stay on her heeled feet after quite a lot of coaxing and shoving, they are a little too fit on her. She could wear thin fishnets with them, but thick socks are out of the question.

    33. Thanks for the info, @AntarelNefertili! I love those boots- I have one pair and I definitely need more!

@missmerrythe3rd, I am anxious to see her complete! The Starwoman head won't have the mushroom bloom at the top of the neck that best works with the Iplehouse heads, but it's a very viable hybrid option! Um... @fishcake, do you have a Carina head to put on that muscle body for show? She has a Cecilia, not sure about Aurora. Cecilia is actually much prettier in owner pics than on the site.

@VampireAngel13, good luck! I think the Starman body is a bit more defined than the SID and a bit blockier, but basically the same shape/size, though the Impl will probably pose better.

    34. I was on DDE last night and happened to look at their "last chance" page and couldn't believe they had the default outfit for a Miguel available (and on sale!). It's been 7 years since the release of that sculpt. Of course I bought it. I just hope shipping isn't hideous and that the faux leather hasn't deteriorated any *crosses fingers*. Mkhai may end up dressed in his own clothes sooner than I can get my lazy butt moving on it.

    35. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! CONGRATZ!! What a find!

    36. I know, right? Totally unexpected.

I will be making him stuff of his own. I'd forgotten that I have some metal snake-like scales from an old belt that I took apart because the elastic of the belt was shot. Since Mkhai is the God of Warfare & Weaponry, armour is his thing and the scales should hopefully work well. He may also be the one who gets me to try my hand at making chain/scale mail.

    37. Annnnd I just got an email from DDE that said the outfit was actually sold out. Darn it! Ah well, it means more cash stays in my dolly funds for the upcoming doll purchase, which is not a bad thing considering the crap-tastic Can$.

    38. Awwww!!! Ding dang it all! You could ask Impl directly- they''ll keep making an outfit until they run out of fabric. Is it actually an outfit he'd wear in character?

    39. I could certainly see him wearing it but it's not critical. It was more of a "that would be so cool to have" than a must have item. It just means I actually need to get my lazy butt moving quicker on making him some clothes than I was going to *laughs*. I was going to see about making him some patterns this weekend anyway no that I've finished other sewing projects for other dolls. I just hadn't planned to actually cut out pieces and the like.

    40. @chalyss, @fishcake, do you have a Carina head to put on that muscle body for show? She has a Cecilia, not sure about Aurora. Cecilia is actually much prettier in owner pics than on the site.

I do! Give me a few minutes to set it up...

      • x 2
    41. I should get Cecelia into some decent clothes and post her here too! I love that head!

    42. YES! I'd love to see more owner pics of Cecilia; she's so rare. Even if she's in indecent clothes! ;)

@Iron_Dog I think he'll end up looking good in whatever you put on him! He was amazing in that robe with no face up!

    43. @chalyss awww, thanks. I'm actually debating his face-up status. I'm not sure exactly how I'd like him to look with a typical/traditional face-up so I've been running through the idea of metal leafing elements of a face-up onto him. If I do that, I'd need to do the rest of his horns and projections for sure and that would be a very labour intensive project, even more so than removing the paint.

I've metal leafed an entire SD arm for one of my other guys and it probably took me about a week and a half to leaf that and it was fairly straight forward. Then it was another 6 weeks of curing time for the Mod Podge before I could string the arm. While it is annoying to re-string, it's not hard. But he'd be in pieces for 3 months at least (likely more) and I'm not sure I want to have him disassembled for that long. I think he'd look really cool with the metal leafing but....

    44. @chalyss You're welcome! I was getting sick of my boy looking like a hobo because his shoe size is a pain. XD

Cecilia has grown on me after seeing photos of her blank sculpt. The teeth-less promo materials didn't really do her justice.

    45. Thank you so much for the pics -- somehow I'd thought the Impldoll's necks were the same size around as Iple's. I already have a little bit of epoxy putty in my Carina's head to improve poseability, but I'm not sure I want a neck "gap" that large. I might change my plans slightly and just get an Impl muscle girl, and trade my existing iple LB body for an older one that's a better match. I'll think it over. I REALLY appreciate you taking time to post those for me ^_^

    46. They are the same, actually- just that Iplehouse has the mushroom at the top of the neck and Impl doesn't. A bit of apoxie in Carina's head would work great!

    47. I think what I'll do is get one of the Impl girls I want first, then I can experiment with seeing if I can get Carina's head to sit well on the neck. If I can get it to where there isn't too much gap, my Carina will get her body upgrade. The more dolls the merrier, too ^_^

    48. You are so welcome! I always need ideas for posting stuff on the blog that is useful, and I like hybriding :D So it was nice to have a reason to take pix!

    49. Apparently I'm not getting notifications for my watched threads again :doh
Anyway, I've got a question that I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me with. I'm planning to get a Tank on the Idol SGB male body and I'm trying to decide on his colour. My Alma is a custom colour brown, and from the few pictures I've been able to find of IMPL's anti-UV brown skin, it looks awfully close to that same colour. What I'm trying to decide is if I should go with a custom colour again or if I should just order him in brown skin. Does anybody have a doll in the new brown? I'd like to see a good, unedited pic of it. Even better would be to see a good, unedited pic of it next to NS/pink skin. Thanks in advance if anyone can help with this!

Meanwhile, have an Aubrey :aheartbea He got new eyes recently and I love the intense colour

    50. he is such a handsome fella and the eyes are very nice. I also love that wig of his. It looks so soft.

    51. @Iron_Dog thanks! The wig is super-soft. It's a Monique one. I love Monique wigs and almost all my dolls are wearing them. All Aubrey's wigs are Monique, because they're the only wig-maker I've found that has this particular colour ;)

    52. @SapphireStargazer The forum also fails to notify me about posts in threads sometimes (dunno why it gives notifs for some really old General Discussion topics but misses on the newer threads). I'm afraid I have no recent Impl purchases, but best of luck with ordering your Tank! He was one of my options for a character before. :)

Lovely eyes on your boy, though! Wheredya get them?

    53. I have some Monique wigs and yes, they are so wonderfully soft. That colour is lovely. Which one is it? I'd like to replace Moswen's wig with a Monique (he's my favourite and I tend to spoil him somewhat) just because they are so very nice and that colour is just what Moswen needs although he needs a long, wavy style instead of a straight wig.

    54. @AntarelNefertili thanks! They're just some random plastic doll eyes that I got at a craft store, but I really liked how they looked and decided to try them for the dolls, which turned out to be a success :) As for Tank, I think I'm going to email IMPL and ask them if they can provide an unedited shot of the brown skin next to NS for me.

@Iron_Dog the colour is white blond. There are quite a few nice wavy styles, including Ciara and Ginger. The Ginger style isn't nearly as curly in real life as it is in some of the sales photos I've seen of it, and it can be easily straightened a bit in any case. I'm not sure if Ginger comes in white blond (because not all the styles come in every size and colour, which is annoying), but I know for sure Ciara does because Aubrey has one. :)
Actually a terrible shot, but it'll give you some idea of what the Ciara wig style looks like:

    55. If only my good shots looked as nice as your "terrible" shots *shakes head*. he's got a very... heading back to bed to snuggle with his SO look to him in that shot.

White blonde is how I describe Moswen's hair colour in-story. I though it had more of a yellow tone going by some of the pics I'd seen of it on the site so it's good to know that's not the case. He doesn't have curls. It's more like what you get when you braid your hair when it's damp and leave it braided overnight. He also needs something that's at least waist-length (I can trim a too long wig).

      • x 1
    56. @Iron_Dog lol yeah...that would be Sunday morning recreation, as long as Zerachiel didn't have somewhere else to be ;)
Ah yeah...I understand the hair texture you mean. I don't know of any wig Monique wig styles that have loose waves like that, but you could definitely achieve that look with a straight wig like Pretty Girl or Paris by actually dampening it, braiding it and letting it dry. Ginger will look like that if you straighten it a bit, too, although it may not be as uniform as you'd like. There's also a style called Slumber that's wavy the way you described, but it's got bangs and I don't know if it comes in white blond. There's also Pixie, but that might not be wavy enough (although it does come in white blond) and there's also one called Snow, but that one might not be as long as you'd like and I'm not sure about the colours. Few options anyway XD Also, apparently I know a lot about Monique wigs

    57. I have a Pretty Girl and a Paris wig for other dolls. I'll need to take a closer look at them. I seem to remember the Pretty Girl having layers to it. A uniform length would be better suited to Moswen's look. I hadn't thought of braiding a damp wig to get the waves. Thanks for that. I don't even remember where I got his current wig. It's still perfectly fine although it's... 7 years old. The fiber is nowhere near as soft as a Monique wig though.
