@Reinameron - Oh my gosh he's gorgeous! I love the way the light falls on his face and how his hair creates a curtain.
I'm afraid my David is only on the L1 body so I can't really help you there.

 

Speaking of hip joints ....I'm not fond of the ladies hip sockets either....the legs twist almost on their own and I'm constantly lining them back up.

But my girl is a work in progress (still)...maybe I can work on her this weekend. I do adore her hands!

Has anybody had an update on how the cards that go with the dolls are coming along? I wouldn't be surprised if that is what has kept my Adonis and surprise doll X in limbo (otherwise known as "packing") for the past month....

 

When my Diana came in I was told it would be 3 weeks and they would send my Adonis and both of the cards with him and we are nearing that time in a few days so your wait may be over soon.

 

For anyone who received Diana with heel feet, can someone please compare her feet with Amanda's heel feet? Are they similar in size, do you think Diana can wear the same shoes as Amanda?

@Julie M I just got word that my missing coa is in, so hopefully, that means the maker is catching up.

@Iron_Dog my package came through Canada post, by the way! It took 11 days to clear customs and get to me, and it sat in Mississauga and Winnipeg, of all places for a few days, but it arrived safely. The doll was OT to this thread, but my heads are on the way from BJDivas as well, they just haven’t yet entered Canada.

Also, that is a gorgeous pic of Wu-Tyr!!! I love his outfit.

@Chameleon Thanks. Wu-Tyr is wearing an old DZ outfit that I bought off a local person. It was supposed to go to somebody else but he saw it and declared it his, so it is.

Grats on finally getting your doll. I hope your incoming heads zip on through quickly. I actually had my Oscar eyes delivered to me today. It sped through Customs, paused briefly overnight in Mississauga and was on my desk by 10:30 this morning. I'm actually very surprised that it arrived so quickly. It being sent EMS and requiring a signature might've had something to do with it, but who actually knows any more what's going on with CANPost *sigh*.

Isn’t that just the way dolls are? One of my characters (a goddess) derailed my plan for an entire body, which I had to dye red for her. I’m glad your eyes got there! Maybe there’s hope for canpost?

 

Ah, DollShe, DollShe, DollShe <long suffering sigh>. Well - although Adonis went into packing about five weeks ago, I have had an email stating that his head is done, and his "body is ready to cast." However, my Bernard Ausley Love hybrid (raspberry honey skin - I can't wait to see her) was shipped today. I should see her by Monday or Tuesday, I think.

 

Julie, I feel like saying Yay! but patting you on the back to say 'there, there' at the same time.
so 5 weeks of packing & the body is liquid in a jar.
on the bright side, raspberry comin' home.

 

I received my Grant Phillipe earlier this week! My first doll by DollShe and I’m so impressed by the detail (and weight omg) of the sculpt.

What’s a good eye size for him? I want something with a small iris, 12mm?

12 mm is good for Grant, though you'll want to make sure the irises are 5 mm rather than the usual 6 mm otherwise he looks a bit stoned. My Grant has eyes with 4 mm irises and that makes him look rather feral and dangerous.

 

@Reinameron - I nearly got my Grant on the L2 body type, though I chickened out at the last minute and asked DollShe to change him back to L1 like my David. Are the insides of the hip joint on the L2 sueded? The poses you've been putting him in are so fluid and natural, I love how beautiful he is! And congratulations on the shipping of your Adonis!

I've finally pulled James apart after two years and I'm blushing him...but I've noticed something very weird. His entire body is covered in tiny pockmarks, like bubble in the resin almost. My other three DollShe bodies are fine, including one bought earlier that year (2016). Anyone else have this issue? Some of his sprues weren't so much sanded as they were hacked off too. Very, very odd.

That is very strange, sounds like someone was in a hurry to get him out of the mold and into a box. Someone was having a bad day? Pockmarks usually means water contamination or the vacuum didn't go high enough. He obviously didn't get checked by quality control.
Because it's James, they could be wounds .

 

how long does it take from packing to shipping? I think I read that it can be months!!!!! say it isn't so.

When you get time, could you post a pic of the Adonis head on the Arsene body, or is that the combo of your Adonis?

 

welp, my amanda showed up early this morning. i started her faceup, she doesn't have her proper eyes or any body blushing or tattoo work yet, but i am so completely smitten, i couldn't help taking pictures. ;w;

 

Nobody has heard anything yet about the state of the first run of classic minis (the 55cm), have they? Dollshe seems to be pushing dolls out the door and since the order period was in May..... I realize 7 months is nothing for a Dollshe order but hope springs eternal and all that.

 

@SteamWitch - Yes...a nine month hurry. Ragnar arrived nine days after I ordered him and he's flawless, Desmond took three weeks, Pariah's body took two months and both are perfectly fine too. I'm totally confused as to how I never noticed this in the first place given that they are literally everywhere but his face. The most annoying thing is that they're too small for my camera to focus on.
Well he was either sprayed with shotgun pellets or had REALLY bad acne as a teen.

@petiteballerine - It can. It can also stay that way even until well after the doll arrives. No idea what's going on there.

@Locutus - Even unfinished, she's still so lovely!

@strm - She's pretty, but she looks nothing like Natalie Portman to me. Weird because usually DollShe sculpts are bang-on accurate to me. Anyway, maybe she'll look more recognizable once she's all painted up.

Hi, can someone tell me what the best way to contact Dollshe is? Is it through the q&a?
The customs here in my country just decided to send back my body without any reason, so I want to talk to Dollshe about having them ship it again when they receive it back.

 

I hope I dont offend anyone but Im disappointed. That Natalie looks nothing like the pictures posted here:

It does however look like the real Natalie's child face on the preorder page so I guess its not inaccurate, but I would have really like it to look like the sculpt he posted instead. Shes not bad, shes not what I imagined the final will look like. I still love the doll but as a complete different character than the one I had in mind.

I didnt get any news from BJD Diva's so I guess fresh skin batch of the Natalie order hasnt shipped yet. Now Im worried about how the Tom Cruise doll will look like in actuality. No more blind preorders for me I hope if they do ship, Its after december because of the holiday posts.

@strm do you by chance have pictures of the extras like the pistol hands and the pistol? Did she arrive with high heel feet? I asked BJD Divas and the heel feet should be included but Im a little bit worried reading some of the responses here

 

I thought we would never get to see the Natalie Portman heads. I like that. Also not convinced on the likeness, but I am not sure I would recognise myself without hair, eyebrows and eyes. That is a useful-looking head. Yup. I could do with one of those one day. I wonder when Monica is out. I am looking forward to that one.

 

I'm very interested in the Monica, too. But, I'd love a better, bendier female body. Dollshe's women look like dolls. His men look like....men.

 

I like the Natalie head - my guess on that shot is: closeup cell phone shot = a bit ‘elongation/distortion’. At least that’s what I’ve found out doing closeup shots with my phone. (I saw one recently posted to Instagram that looked more like his original promo taken a bit further away). Mine’s in San Fran so should be here soooon (so excited)!!

@Christy thank you for that, I looked on IG and saw the post and it made me feel a lot more relieved and confident again, she looks better than the prototype and Im so happy but at the same time now Im jealous of people getting their shipping notices XD I want my fresh skin Natalie lol

@Quiet and Insane My friend and me think it's closer because it's a very young version. Dollshes first released images close to Natalie's age of 16 in Star Wars, not 13.

Natalie’s here! Actually I’m thinking that Instagram post was a production shot of Mr. Kim’s (he has that grid surface in a lot of his pix). Comparing the 2, she definitely was altered to have a narrower face just like the post earlier by @strm (that shot is accurate). I’ll post a pic here soon! (I do wish he would’ve kept to that original production but...I still like her).

I'm warming up to the Dollshe Diana body; the more I handle it, the more I actually like it .

 

I like it too but her upper thigh swivels sometimes. I need to suede there.

@strm - I didn't care much for her in Star Wars so that's probably why I couldn't recognise her. Hmm...

@MJKKJM - How does it go posing-wise? Apart from the sueding needed for her thighs.

Im not keen on her anymore but at least the body looks very nice. I feel it is unfair that he changes the sculpt to be more narrow when he showed that grey one initially as the sculpt for Natalie. I was under the impression that we would be getting that sculpt instead of his new revised one. The new one is nice but Im finding myself trying to find things I like about it instead of it just clicking, I try to be optimistic.

I would not have preordered had I known that he would change her that drastically, It discourages me from ordering first run again. She is very beautiful, but not the Natalie I was under the impression of getting.

At least the body and the hands look very beautiful so that is something to look forward to when he hopefully ships my order, Im interested to see what fits her and if shes easier to dress than the 26F since shes slimmer looking

I hope to see some faceup and wigged pictures of her from you guys soon, Ive always loved your classic Bermann so I look forward to your imagining of her I like her a lot but its hard not to feel shocked if you were waiting for something for really long and end up with something else at the end

Anyone else order the Tom Cruise doll? I like his male dolls so Im certain the Tom doll will look nice plus the Mystic body in terms of appearance is my favorite male body

 

I've sueded her shoulder and chest joints along with the thigh joints and I find that now, she's able to hold pretty much all the poses I put her into.

 

Why did he have to promise a specific sculpt and produce another???
I like Natalie's sculpt far better than Diana's.
Would he have offered Natalie's as a basic sculpt, I'll already be pushing money his way.
I don't mind Diana's, but I definitively prefer Natalie's.
Diana is just too moody for me. Natalie's facial expression is just perfect for what I am looking for. Sooooo frustrating!

 

He did the same with Amanda. I think I would've prefered the older model better. I wish he would show the dolls completed wit faceups instead of in grey so we could really see what we were getting before hand. We were blind with Diana until she came.

 

hey could anyone help me make sense of an extremely frustrating situation i'm at with dollshe right now?

context: i moved over the summer and lost 1 box. that 1 box was for my IOS Tauros head and, luckily, the head has its own body, but the 7 COAs i had in it was. i've meticulously torn apart my house and both my parents' homes(they had some of my winter boxes), this box is just GONE and i have never been more pissed off and disgusted at myself in my whole life. i have NEVER misplaced anything so critical, ever. i've owned 20+ bjds for 10 years and i've never so much as misplaced a hand. i have NO clue what could've possibly happened to this stupid box as i kept all my BJD stuff together.
6 of the COAs were for my dollshes, every single dollshe i own, those stupid little plastic cards they come with.

i contacted dollshe and was able to get them to send me a replacement for one of them, a Hound i'd ordered thru denver doll. i also listed all my other orders-- ones i'd placed directly thru dollshe-- and they said EMS shipping for them would be $23.
i coughed it up because i had no other choice.

they shipped the Hound's COA and then told me there was suddenly a "mistake" and they couldn't send me any others. they keep saying because:

"There was confusion as the website administrator changed.
According to the internal regulations, the activation card will issue only one certificate per doll.

Unfortunately, you may not be able to send your activation card separately under internal regulations.
It is due to the internal conditions and can not be changed."

i have no clue what this means and they just keep repeating it. it doesn't explain why they were able to send me the Hound's COA and then suddenly NONE of the others.

i've literally spent THOUSANDS on dollshes i am literally seething at this. i just want out of the BJD hobby altogether at this point and yet i'll STILL be STUCK with all the stupid dolls that brought me here because of those stupid STUPID COAs.

okay cool, cool, so do you know what they mean when they say "There was confusion as the website administrator changed.
According to the internal regulations, the activation card will issue only one certificate per doll." even though they had no problem issuing one of them or do you really want to prod into the details of my personal life and the multitude of issues i've had with a hobby i've been lukewarm about for nearly two years because that wasn't what i came here to do, i was just asking for help understanding a completely senseless driveling customer support response.

 

@Zest They don't plan on replacing your lost cards. You're only allowed one per customer. They possible misunderstood your original request, or some other mistake on their end, which is why you got one for Hound, but now that they're realized their mistake, don't expect to get any for the others.

 

While I totally get your annoyance, I think Dollshe is only sending one CoA per doll because they've had to deal with tons of counterfeit doll problems in the past, and the recast issue is only growing now, so I can see why Dollshe is becoming more precautious with handing out independent CoA's. Of course, it sucks that you have to deal with the aftermath of recasters but if I were in Dollshe's shoes, I would also hesitate to give out 6 new COA's. But yeah, your situation is frustrating, you have my sympathy.

 

I am understand Zest's problem. I bought my Ausley Love from member Jo1961 and she send me doll with wrong CoA. Dollshe company can not help me and now I have no proof at all if I will sell this doll

 

All the Dollshe doll have been recasted and it could be the reason why they won't send you the other COA cards, that in itself is nerve wracking, but as long as you can print a copy of your purchase from their website when you decide to let your dolls go hopefully that can rest any potential customers that buy from you.
