    2. T.T I don't like the new 18M Mystic body! And I ordered a Saint and Bernard in fashion size, sight unseen! I don't want to have to cancel my order, as I have wanted them in that size since Dollshe fist started making that size. I really really hope that he fixes it. It reminds me of a combination of the Khan and Arsene bodies...in the worst way. And I disliked both those. I mean, I can understand the beast look of Vampire Khan...but that big hand, tiny head, tense should and tiny forearm look is not at all suited for a normal guy. And the Arsene body was just too blah and blank, even if it was thin...it was boring. And why does the Mystic body need the penis part? I'm so disappointed in Dollshe right now...T.T I really really hope he fixes it.

    3. Poor chap skipped leg day.

That's not bad at all. Still not sold on the proportions (hips and legs too thin and shoulders still too tense), but not bad at all.

    4. @MadamMauMau So it's not just me. My first thought was that poor boys got chicken leg syndrome.

    5. The new body has a modern feel of Hound's body. (Bermann had slopey shoulders.) It's quite nice, although I wish it had just a bit more bootay. Just a little bit pert in the derriere.
This is a model's body and will look wonderful in clothes. My 28M fashion men sit around naked a lot.
I'm glad Mr. Kim posted photos. Putting a clock on a sale with no pics was off-putting.
Since I'm officially out of dollie funds for this year, I'm just going to watch and read. It's all very exciting.

    6. I think the new body is.... okay. It could've been better, but considering Khan it could also have been worse. I'd love to see it pose though, like some serious poses. Give him a chair and pose away, because I want to see how those joint works and their limits.

    7. Funnily enough, the lineup of all four bodies looks great, but it also succeeded in convincing me even more that the 28M body (the one for David/Grant/etc) is my absolute favourite. In comparison to the others, all the limbs are nicely fleshed out. It's idealised, but still looks like a (physically fit) ordinary person. I've never been into the thin/tube-limbed super-tall proportions of many BJDs, which is part of why 28M appeals to me a lot - it's very shapely. Neither of the two new bodies (Khan or Mystic) retain that shapeliness.

Buuuut in this regard, I'm not the target customer for this body! I imagine it'll go great with the new Bermann/Saint heads.

      • x 1
    8. The new body makes the 28m body look small. After all these years of amassing a wardrobe for the Old Hound body, I'm not ready to have to dress yet another size.

    9. Honestly, after Khan's body I was expecting a disaster with this one! So in terms of what I was expecting this is great

And I totally agree with you @lyn_r ..definitely not ready for that....

    10. I am verrrry interested in seeing the updated version of the Bermann, Saint and specially Bernard sculpts. This body is quite realistic, I am eager to know what he has done to the heads. The chicken legs don't bother me much. It is a body made to wear clothes and, compared to other BJD companies, I have seen worse in the legs department.

      • x 2
    11. Looks like a more realistic version of the old 18m hound body that dollshe is know for.

      • x 1
    12. Lilla you are very right! I think.

    13. I could do , I think at best I might try get the skin tone changed to fresh (instead of Copper Oriental) and then look to swap it for a Pure or old Hound body on arrival.

The joys of ordering blindly! First and last time for everything hey :)

I suppose there's still time he could make amendments, he did make a longer neck for Khan - He just needs to soften and narrow those shoulders, lengthen the neck, plump up those bumcheeks and soften that body ever so slightly, so it doesn't look so board-like. I'm not asking much am I :)

      • x 1
    14. This was my thought!

I do wish the Mystic was more smooth in the belly and had a bit more butt, but honestly, the body looks fine to me. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Bermann, Saint, and Bernard on it.

    15. I'm really confused by everyone's critiques. ^_^;; I keep looking at the pictures again after each comment read and I just don't see what ya'll are seeing (except the chicken legs--boy does have some skinny legs--though, he'll look great in some skinny jeans). My husband has shoulders like that--broad and straight--when he is perfectly relaxed so the Mystic's shoulders don't look tense to me at all. I suppose the butt is a little flat, but some men have flat butts. I think the proportions and the shape look good, the penis cap is ideal for dressing, and he looks great lined up with the other bodies. I was 'meh' about it at first glance, but the more I go back to look for the flaws everyone is complaining about, the more this body grows on me. I might evan have just the right head for it...

      • x 3
    16. I don't think anybody is really "complaining", certainly not everyone! :) And a subjective response to something (positive or negative) is totally fine. Especially as prospective customers.

I think they all look great, but can totally understand disinterest in the thin legs, raised shoulders, things like that. 18M has never appealed to me because of the thinness for example. But that's personal preference. Some people don't like 28M for opposite reasons! XD

I can't wait to see the new female body he is going to make, considering that - personal preference aside - his sculpts are becoming even more incredibly detailed and stunning. The male choice is amazing now, but female; not so much. I'd love one that looks a little more average and a little less model-like! :D

    17. I have no plans to buy the new 18M in the near future anyway, but I like the overall look of the new body except i prefer a regular pee pee :-P I hope they could at least keep Arsene's body as an option. I mean the poor boy barely had his spotlight, and now he's getting cut. In Survivor term, that's a per-merge boot lol and nobody wants to date a pre-merge.

    18. I was apprehensive about the body for Bermann and Saint, given that the last sculpt was Khan. I'm with Raesha here -- the more often I look at the mystic body, the more I like it. He's shaped like a few engineers I've known and the legs and arms, while slender, have a shapeliness about them that the original body legs did not necessarily have (they are what kept me from getting a DollShe dolls for the first year plus that I looked at them ... every week!). I would like a slightly longer neck, and slightly fuller buttocks, but those aren't deal breakers for me (and yes, I ordered the day he opened the sale).

I'm *meh* about the penis cup but, since dressing these guys is a great deal of the business that I do, I'll be one of the first to admit that the cup will make my job much easier.

I have a hunch that this body will look absolutely fabulous dressed.

I couldn't wait to get back from work to see how the new body was going over. <grins>

      • x 4
    19. I used to own the old Hound body, and it was also pretty funky looking; broad shoulders, tube body and a flat butt... although the legs were a little thicker. The Mystic body feels like an updated take on that build, so I don't mind at all. :)

      • x 1
    20. The sculpting on the new 18M MYSTIC body is amazing! Another Dollshe masterpiece. I recall previous posts where old school 18M fans requested the body to be slender and lanky like their originals. I think he translated that esthetic very realistically. If he can do the same with the head sculpts, realistically transforming the essence of each one to fit the body , I would just be amazed. I cannot tell one older 18M body from another. They just have a distinct vibe that their fans really enjoy. I see that in this new recreation and the pose+ body will probably knock folks for a loop with the attitude posing. Ultimately, I would prefer Venitu in Fashion size, but I lean heavily towards getting a Saint. If he has that same 'tude it's over and done!
btw the MYSTIC and the Arsene bodies would fit in the same universe, like best friends who don't share the exact same physique.
These will be like Pinocchio come to life.
Looked again. Not a fan of the chest joint in the back. I would rather see a horizontal line.

    21. Personally I really like the Mystic body. A realistic version of the 18m body it is which is going to look good in clothes. I am now wondering if the Grown Saint is going to be a more realistic version as well or the slight variation of the old sculpt I was expecting. I might be in the market for a Grown Bermann if he is a realistic rendition. I just was not that interested in the older aesthetic as it would be forever overshadowed by the curse of the Bermann.
Always full of drama in Dollshe land.

    22. Going and looking at the body again on my computer instead of on my phone...I can't wait to tailor jackets for that body. He has a fun looking torso.

No sarcasm, I'm actually a bit giddy plotting seams.

    23. I'm surprised by how much I like the new body. It's kinda gangly and a tad boyish, but about to turn into a man. The look of it in general reminds me of my hubby when I first met him. Exact same shoulders. I'm seriously tempted to buy a bermann now, but while the fullset discount applies, I think I may get a Rey Lewis. I was torn between Rey and Grant, but I think Rey looks sweeter and just a tad worried, a bit like my amanda beauty.

Edit: Just one thing, did anyone else think when they were looking at the comparison photos of all the body sizes, that Mr Dollshe changes the "package" size constantly. I feel a bit of a pervert for mentioning it, but if the mystic body has the same interchangeable parts, then the new Bermanns etc are going to be really hung. I can see it with Leo, he has to have something to offer to attract all those models, but somehow I think the rest of the dollshe guys would be stuck with the cap if I were to buy them.

    24. /spills drink

Shiiiiiiiiiii.... I... I really love that Mystic body! o____o

I get what people are saying about the tensed shoulders and narrow hips but I feel like that just adds to his charm; there is something of the spirit of the old Hound body there. And it has a certain personality - standing next to Arsene, Leo on the Mystic body looks distinctly moody, a little aloof, a little taciturn. The slouched upper torso and hunched shoulders suggest a guy who didn't heed corrections to his posture until, as your parents would say, it got stuck that way.

Ugggggh I shouldn't order, but I'll really have to think about it. I do like the sale price, and the devil on my shoulder is whispering "even if you don't like the head, that's a good price for the body alone" but I don't know. I've spent a fair bit on hobbies this last month. And I feel like though this is an excellent sale, there'll probably be another great sale at some future point if I am patient enough to wait. I'd like more time to decide, and also to see owner photos and such. But regardless, this body has definitely become among the forerunners of my wishlist.

Now I'm really excited to see if the heads also changed. I hope they have, because that would please me very much, but on the other hand I hope they haven't, because I feel like if the heads are getting changed even half as much as the body has changed from the old body... I feel really bad for those who placed an order, because I think the way it was represented it really seemed like any changes would be very minor.

    25. Like so many of you I keep going back and looking at the body photos. Today, I see they added photos of the previous bodies for Saint/ Bernard/ etal., and you know the new body is a nice change. I admit when I first saw it.... chicken legs was the first thought. However, the legs on the new body are more shapely which is a plus.

As far as proportions of hips to shoulders, the body that always bothered me was the Mega Gem male (I love Ender). Even dressed he just looks out of proportion to me.

Yesterday, I was sure I was not tempted by the new offering; today, I'm thinking well..... maybe.

    26. That mystic Body is Gorgeous! I love all 4 bodies Dollshe created and they all sit well with one another. Each one is absolutely perfect.

The new Mystic body is actually one of the components that's pulling me in to buy Grown Saint and Grown Bermann.
I do have to agree with Walter, I hope the new Saint and Bermann, are more realistic looking versions of their former selves.

I was never that hopped up to own a Bermann, but now in combination with this body it's becoming more enticing.

I can't stand the penis cap. I hope it can be swapped out. The caps are straight up weird to me. It's that anatomically incorrect thing I hate. But then again, I believe in dressing to the left or to the right.

    27. Hmm, while the body is nothing that really screams "buy me" it does certainly make me curious about the eventual photos of the new versions of Bermann, Saint, and Bernard.
In other news, today I got an excellent birthday present: the shipping notice for my Grant! Huzzah!

@SalmonNugget - You're quite welcome. Also Granado will happily do layaways, if that tempts you further. ;)

@Alfie - Yes, the cap is strung and can be swapped out for a penis part just like Khan.

      • x 7
    28. I do hope the Mystic Penis part is not as big as Khan's. Or offered in different sizes like the ladies busts are (seems only fair). That way you can customize depending if your character is a grower or a shower.

    29. Next up: different poses as well as sizes. ;)

    30. Oh my gosh :abambi:

    31. my main beef with the new body is that in the description he said the new body would have hands and feet "between a woman and a man" and "no masculine body. They would have a slim body"
Basically he got my hopes up for a brand new lanky noodle with new joints.

Overall the body looks great, but he made it sounds like it would be the opposite of what we got. I'm glad I didn't place an order based on the description alone :sweat it will work great for the Leo head, but I wanted something else for saint and/or bermann.

    32. @sahoma That's why I was/am so intrigued about the transformation. When you reimagine something that already exists, everyone has a different interpretation. The new 18M's will live in a different universe than the old. It feels like an actor being replaced in a show, same character but.....it's just not the same.

    33. If I buy a doll from Them on layaway, and I set it to Four payments, do you know if I then Can pay sooner if I get the funds before the last payment was due ?
Hope you get what i mean :)

    34. You can pay sooner but do not expect to get your doll faster by doing so.

    35. Yup. Minimal wage in my country isn't enough for the basic version of those dolls (~$476 before any taxes and other obligatory charges)

@Quiet and Insane thank you, it's what I like a lot about him. Always wanted the SA face only.

@sahoma I'm disappointed with the same thing. This is not a lanky noodle, but a veiny dude with broad shoulder. The body could be nice for a larger head, maybe, if it's available in a few months, I could finally get a nicer body for Sabik <.<

Sorry Mr.Dollshe, my first thought when I saw the photos was similar to when I saw Khan: Goomba!

    36. So when I first looked at the Mystic body, it was on my phone. We lost power from the Hurricane that hit, so I was relying on my phone for web surfing. Now that I can use my computer again and can look at the body more clearly, I have to say I like it more. The muscle definition in the abdomen looks much softer than it did from the small images on my phone and overall, it really looks like the body of a skinny young man that is still maturing.

I look forward to seeing Re Bermann, Saint, and Bernard on this body!

    37. The new body looks to me like any age 20-30 give or take a few years. That's one of the things I like about it.
Makes it more flexible in terms of character creation.
I sure hope there will be more sales and heads offered in the future (2017) because I want my pose plus man before I make any decisions.

      :daisy

    38. My spiritdoll guy has interchangeable 'mood' packages. Normal, happy to see you, very happy to see you. I bought him when my kids were young and I had to hide the parts from them (did not want to explain what they were). I kept losing the parts. I used to store them in a doll head at one point - a large headed BJD. Haven't thought about them for ages. Now I'm wondering where they are. LOL. It's a small step from cap and package to different poses. I agree with the comment about Khan. He's a little too large. In any event it is going to feel weird to restring a 'package'. Doesn't dollshe know they're meant to be magnetised?

    39. He wrote that the hands and feet shown were for sample purposes only so he's still working on them.

It's a beautifully sculpted body but I find it strange. I can't help thinking of a wiry old man when I see him, not a lanky youth.

    40. The more I look at the Mystic body the more I like it, even if I still mourn the loss of the waist joint that allowed that perfectly languid slouch. The body type seems very typical for the bird-boned, late-teen guys one sees all over Tokyo, so I would imagine they are all over Seoul too. Perhaps not normative to the Western eye, but I didn't think "chicken legs" at all when I saw it. The neck is too short to match the length of the rest of him though. It's like half the length of the neck on the original!

    41. I didn't even take a close look at the hands tbh, I just meant that based on the descriptions I assumed the whole body would be somewhat androgynous. :sweat

    42. I had promised myself: no more large bjd... But I never counted on the fact that Mr Dollshe would release his Bermann!!!! One of my long hoped Grail, that had always eluded me !!!

And that Mystic body? oh my!!! so beautiful... I'm broke, but at least there is layaway option....

And of course... he's ordered!!! I'm jumping and dancing with happiness ! and surprise! ;)

      • x 1
    43. I imagine the pose plus body will slouch, but that's a lot of bendy parts. I question that joint in the upper arm on the pose plus. we don't bend that way.
Volks SDGou has that. very odd.
Have we actually seen a pic of a pose plus body? Is the photo of Khan Pose Plus? It doesn't have the upper arm joint.
      I'm so KimConfused.

      :nowords:

    44. @sahoma yeah, I don't see any androgyny to the body at all. Perhaps there will be more changes that will make the body more delicate he mentions that it's only 80% finished. He's certainly more built than young DiCaprio and the face seems hard and not soft which is irrelevant in terms of Bermann but I was marginally interested in seeing ho Leo would come out.

    45. @petiteballerine if we're just talking about the 28M pose+, they are very flexible. I ordered L2, and Mr Kim said it's possible to do without the upper arm joints. but at the end I ordered L2 as is, with an extra pair of L1 arms.
Though I think he also said he will not do arm and thigh joints from now on, so I assume pose + means extra joints in waist and neck. And I think you can still just do a pose + body with neck joint only, but you will have to ask in the description when you order.

    46. I LOVE the extra joint in the SDGou arm, it actually makes it possible for him to cross his arms in front of his body more realistically.
I have yet to find images of the pose+ but maybe I don't know where to look?

    47. @St.James - I just tried crossing the arms with and without the upper joint moving, and honestly don't see much difference. perhaps it holds better.
I'll play with it some tomorrow. thanks a bunch for pointing it out.
I have noticed they can put their arms around another doll very well. maybe that joint helps there too.

      :thumbup

PS: here's the first post about pose plus Introducing 28M Fashion Pose body and Pose (+)Plus body - DollShe craft

@SalmonNugget - commented that Mr K says no more shoulder and thigh joints. I like the thigh joints or good hip joints that let a doll sit cross legged.

    48. I believe he said no more arm/thigh joints because he didn't like how they messed with the aesthetic - or at least implied that.

As a result, I'm really glad L4 exists and I got it! I can see his point, but with the figure clothed, I'd prefer the flexibility more joints add. Last month a DollZone doll arrived, and the jointing completely blows my other 1/6s out of the water - so much so, I've had to rebody one or face feeling eternally annoyed it wasn't up to the same standard in posing.

I adore upper arm joints for allowing arm swivel without dislocating the shoulder or elbow. Same for upper thigh joints, plus being able to draw the knees up. :) If I ever do buy Rosa, I think my major complaint will end up being her severely decreased mobility (in comparison to L4) haha. I would love L4 style bodies for everything in his lineup. XD

    49. the thing is he's holding up all the freaking dolls. nobody really gets to try and give him feedbacks.
it's too soon to determine if the fans like it or not. Same with Arsene, he's discontinued before it's getting made, and for crying out loud he didn't even have a coloured sampled on his page like Dave and Grant and Ausley and Amanda.
That said I'm still waiting for my L2 and see if I like the upper arm joints.

    51. [IMG]

My first impressions after just getting King Corey L4 (Pure Ebony) and David Kucci L1 (Copper Oriental) out of their boxes:
Stability - David stands unsupported straight out of the box, King has an expreme lordosis at the pelvis joint and bowing at the hip/buttocks that is going to take some expert manuevering to get him to stand. I cannot do it unsupported but more experienced BJD owners probabley have a solution. It is similar to the problem I have with the DS35S buttocks popping out.
Pose ability sitting and supported however, King has great flexibility in arm and leg movement as would be expected. The movement is easy to control and holds position well. There is a tendency for the upper arm to bow out as if the humerus is fractured so have to watch that. The hips do sort of splay out as well but could probably prevent that if I took more care in positioning. Someone with more photographic talent will get this body to look very natural, I am sure.
I was hoping to keep King's head as bald shaven but there is a sanding mark at the gate removal site which is going to preclude that. Otherwise he is a beautiful sculpt and I am very happy to finally have him.

More photos are in my flickr https://flic.kr/p/MdrQDK

    52. Oh my goodness, King Correeyyy <3 Thank you for uploading so many photos, I'm delighted to see owner pics of him!

If he pops out of place a lot, wiring might help! I recently wired two troublesome dolls of my own and wow, I wish I'd done it sooner haha, their new stability is more than I ever could have imagined!

    53. Unrelated but funny enough that I wanted to share: My husband walked by right as I was zoomed in on the first of your pictures @Therealwalter , the one with the floating butt cheeks. He stopped abruptly, leaned forward to squint at the picture, then looked at me and deadpanned, "Please don't try that with me, I promise it won't lift like that".

      • x 2
    54. Thanks for the review. Oh noes. Popping waist joints. Shades of the Hound body. I really hope this isn't an insoluble problem.

@nattherat How did you wire the torso? I have wired arms and legs and it works great, but I can't solve my Saint and Bernard's popping bellies. I am up for any hints and tips.

    55. This makes me scared for my Fashion L4 Grant. :'( Should I be changing the order to L1, assuming it's not too late to do so?

    56. @Therealwalter What a beautiful chocolate man! and I really love his throne

    57. thanks so much for posting lots of pics @Therealwalter . I don't see that he can do the sitting slouch - even with a double jointed torso. but
photos Mr K posted waaaaay back show him in remarkably realistic poses. now I'm wondering if the joints were changed a bit for easier casting.
does not bode very well for the Fashion size.

anyway, your King Corey is gorgeous! he deserves a throne.

      :love

    58. Crud. Looking at your pictures, I see what you mean about the arms. Looks as though there just isn't enough arm going into the socket to stop it from popping out. Presumably the same applies to the waist joint. Rotator joints on arms and legs are not a new thing, neither are stable waist joints. This problem has already been solved. Looks as though we might be sacrificing stability for mobility here and these will take patience to pose naturally. Well, damn.

ETA: And that photo of Corey next to Kuncci; he looks tiny! I am assuming (hoping) that is camera angle and they are the same size.
