Dollshe Website

------

Well, here's a quick photo of my Grant (Kurt) all dressed up. He'll eventually be modded a bit to look like Nightcrawler.

I'll do a box opening thread if I can figure out how to link from my Flickr. They went and changed the interface on me...

2. My Geordie Byron Gordon (Saint OS) head arrived today. It fits the Minimee WS body I have very well. I already made a pics thread in the gallery but here they are again, his intro pics. You can't see it but I am so smiling. He's is just so gorgeous even sans a face that I can't help myself. Just looking at him makes me happy. :) This is a doll I honestly never thought I'd own. It took making him a hybrid and a very old head to do it, but I don't mind at all. He's going to be SO awesome when I am done with him. You just wait and see!

3. I just saw him on tumblr. His colour is amazing! Can't wait to see him completed. :D

4. the big green guy just showed up today and here's a picture for those who wanted to see what the elf green looked like in real life.

he really is THAT green!!!!!

he answers to the name kamel, which happens to be Kermit D.Frog's name in parts of the middle east;)
it translates to mean "perfect", which is what he thinks is the reason I picked it........poor , misguided soul.....

it also sounds a lot like the work "camel", and with that long face of his........

5. BlitheFool- I absolutely love that blue. Can't wait to see him as Nightcrawler. How awesome is that gonna be!
Mag Kelly - love the Saint head. Hope to be able to see hope your doll cone out!
Maitalia- He is certainly green! So cool! Please post more of him. Would love to see him all done up with face etc. :D

6. your pictures doesn't work :(

7. sorry sahoma,:sweat

don't know what happened with last picture; I know you have a green dollshe coming and want to see what you got yourself into....

[IMG][/IMG]

the green is a bit deeper and more intense than the picture; bit more blue not as much yellow.

8. Those blue and green resin colors are intense! I appreciate seeing the owner pics, I didn't think I'd like them as much as I do! If only I am lucky enough to see one in person some day~ crossing fingers.

9. Whoa! So many colorful Grants! Can't wait to see Nightcrawler, I remember you mentioning that on my flickr XD

I received Grant a few days ago in Copper Oriental but my nozzle broke on my AB whilst I was working on him so I had to order a new one :( hopefully getting it tomorrow so I can finish him this weekend!

10. I love these new colors, but I would sooo love to see a Ausley in Copper Oriental. I bet it looks lovely!

11. Hi all, I just got a long time grail head of mine and I'm looking for a certain type of body to hybrid him on. I got an Orijean head in pale resin and I'm looking for a lanky body. I have a similar hybrid on a doll chateau A-02 body and I love it's look so much that I am possibly interested in putting him on one too, maybe even the A-03 :o
The only problem I see with that would be the neck circumference. Most 11 cm necked bodies seem to be pretty muscular. :<
When he arrives I'm probably going to try him on the body anyways, but does anyone have any recommendations? :D

12. @Genevieve, I know some people have hybrided dollshe heads on the AkagiDoll 66/68cm body, but I don't know if that would fit your aesthetic criteria. If I remember well I think the neck circumference of that body is 10,5cm.

13. Ohh! Can't wait to see your take on Grant, SDink. I'm sure he'll look amazing.

14. Wow he's going to be such a handsome Nightcrawler! Can't wait to see that!

15. oooooh it's so lovely :aheartbea more blue than I thought, but so so so pretty~
what do you plan to do with him? :)

16. @Darksstars: That is still a good suggestion! I may have to give something out of my aesthetic a try.

I got the head today though and I just love him. ;v; He's sOooOOoo beautiful! I put him on the A-02 body and although there is quite a lot of gaping in the neck, he looks wonderful on it. I think with a wig on it won't be so noticable. :D
[IMG]

17. A little bit of Fyodor (play with lightshade):

18. Hey long-time Dollshe owners, I have a question (and I'm really sorry if it's a repeat, searching faceplate leads to scads and scads of faceplates for sale.

I just bought a second-hand dollshe. The previous owner said that the headplates came off easily, but this is ridiculous! I've put an awareness bracelet on his head the keep his head together, but it looks like it's not quite snapping together in the first place. Am I being dense? It's hard to say. Anyway, here's a picture of the hijinks. Right now I can press on his face hard enough to try and get it snapped on (to no avail) but once I get a faceup on him I don't want to be rubbing my hands all over his face any time I need to get in there.

This is how it's sitting:

I know it's common for Dollshe faceplates to come off, but it's not even sitting flush with the headback. When I took this photo though I noticed that his magnet has been re-glued in on the top of his head. This is what that looks like:

I'll probably get him a wig cap to keep him secure, but I think this might be a little worse than average so I thought I'd ask for help.

Thanks in advance guys. :)

19. delicate disaster, the head backs are specific to the individual sculpts, so maybe you don't have the matching head back to the face plate. :sorry

20. I figured it out! It's the hot glue! I took the magnet out and the head sits fine (checked and the head and plate match too) I just need to get the magnets situated and not have them pop out...

21. The shipping has went down some in price too, if I get Ausley Love shipping to the USA would be $79 dollars and some change instead of the $100+ from a month or two ago. Maybe Dollshe changed the box size some?

22. That's good to know. When I'd read about the high shipping costs I decided to put Ausley on hold until the summer. Now I'll have to rethink/rework the budget....

23. Finally got around to painting Grant, here is a quick pic of him until I can take proper pics ^^

There will be more on my flickr at some point in case anyone is interested:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/91252518@N00

24. He looks great! I love the texturing of his skin, it looks very natural :)

25. Sahoma stole the words right out of my mouth. :) I LOVE how natural he looks. I feel like if I could reach in through the screen his skin would be warm and soft to the touch.

26. SDink- OMG!! He looks so handsome! And I love his skin color very vibrant!

27. He's so pretty!

28. Thanks guys! sorry for the uber large pic O_O

The Copper Oriental is REALLY pretty! it's more peachy and not yellow, very nice!

29. SDink I'm pretty sure I see him breathing…gorgeous work. So glad to see the Grants start showing up.

30. Well you know how I love this guy and I was really happy to see this resin color....because it's the color I want to order...:)

And to go with 'wrinkles' or without 'wrinkles' that is the question.:)
I assume that is on the lips?
I didn't know he could come with or without them.

31. @luluna: YES! OMG! that is exciting news! you will LOVE him! I think if you are going for realistic you should get the wrinkled lips! if you look on my flickr I posted pics of David with and without them, the one with the cig is w/o the wrinkled lips, maybe that will help you decide ^^

Congrats!

32. Thanks so much SDink! You took gorgeous photos of both boys! You really brought both sculpts to life wit your amazing faceups! I hope you post lots more! :)

33. I finished my layaway for Aramis some days ago. A bit sad that Dollshe said that they're going to send him after 1,5 months because the making of Aramis's SA head and Venitus body seem to be a lot of work for them. Thank goodness I'm used to wait for dolls... for a long long time - almost always. :'D

34. on month and a half or one to five months? :sweat
if it's 1ยฝ that would be really impressive! especially knowing how slow they've been in the past and how much work they currently have. but I'm prepared to wait :)

35. One month and a half. I paid my layaway for three months. Last time I ordered a Husky from them (late 2012) with layaway they shipped him immediately after making final payment, that's why I'm a bit bummed. I was spoiled I guess... :sweat

36. I know it's probably a long shot, buuuuut...anyone here has a bit of a knowledge with old default Dollshe face-ups?*_*

A friend of mine just bought a local Dollshe Hound, and I know he's a V2 and he's also still sporting a default FU, but the old owner isn't his first owner either and has no clue where the doll was originally bought.
My friend asked me now from which distributor he was most likely, but I'm not sure...I was only able to find some Tensiya and LUTS ones (also custom LUTS ones), and they don't look like his face-up at all.
He has the face-up with the beautymark underneath the left eye and it looks exactly like the face-up on this persons Hound, with the thin light brown eyebrows and subtle green eyeshadow.
Sadly a lot of the old pictures and links are broken which made searching for this pretty difficult.

Can anyone here help out?
I'm damn sure it's a default face-up, but from where?*_*

37. There was a time when Iplehouse used to carry Dollshe dolls back in the day, but I don't know if they did faceup's either for them. I did get my Hound from Luts in 2006 with a custom faceup from Luts at that time. Also Dollmore used to carry Dollshe dolls back then too, but I don't know if they kept the old stock photos of any of them.

38. I tried to find the old Iplehouse and Dollmore photos, but no luck. He's definitely not a Haute Hound either...and some of the Tensiya face-ups looked pretty different from each other too.

Hach, I just wish a lot of the old pictures wouldn't have been deleted :(
I smiled when I found one of the original Luts photos from IM Hound, we sure came a long way in the hobby.

39. Hi!

In addition to luts and tesiya, iplehouse and dollmore carried
Dollshe ,both dollmore and iplehouse offered faceup services
On the dolls they carried and sold.

I.am not 100% sure, but the faceup on the doll you posted the link to looks like a dollmore hound default faceup,in my opinion.

That is not much, but I hope it helps!

40. Fascinating stuff. We need more historical doll sites documenting the various iterations and changes....

41. SDink, Thanks for posting the copper oriental resin color. I love it! I have the female body coming with the Bernard head in copper oriental. I wish that resin choice had been available when I ordered Venitu. He really needed to be a tan color.

42. Hi!
Could you please tell which color, Copper Oriental or Light Tan, is the closest to old Dollshe tan?
Thank you!)))

43. Mitya69, I wish I could help you but I am fairly new to Dollshe and I do not know what the old tan looked like but surly there is someone on this thread who can help you. Hang in there for an answer and ask again if you don't get one soon. ;)

I have been sorting thru old wigs and found this ugly black mohair wig that was dry and stuck out everywhere. On another thread a suggestion was made that I try my hand at redesigning the wig using fab. softner and I also used a little light hair shine. I am really pleased with the results. So glad I did not throw the wig out. You all know that my Dollshe Bernards have all become females. So here is Bernadette in her new mohair wig.

44. I am craving for a Grant but seriously that 28M body is just too muscular for my liking. Does anyone if Grant head will match a 18M pure body or it would be too big?

45. Kaisuki, the neck circumference of the muscly body is 13,5 cm and the pure body is 11.
It would give respectively 2,15 cm and 1,75 cm radius, so expected gap would be 4 milimeters all around.

I can't find any measurement for DSAM, it seems to have thicker neck. If nobody helps with it till I'm home, I'll measure it for you, unless that body is out of consideration.

46. Oh! Dedra, if you could do that, you'll be my dolly life savour ! DSAM would be a lovely consideration as well. Thank you so much~~

47. jo1961 Thank you! I have an old Dollshe tan/ light tan hybrid, but wonder about this new Copper color.
It seems that Bernadette is strong willed and pretty serious lady.
KaIsUki I don'tknow about Philipp, but we tried to put David head on DSAM and Rythmos. It sits pretty good on DSAM, but I haven't got a picture. On Rythmos - just awful. Too big for such neck, different body style...

And this is Walter:

48. Oh my, I love your Walter. Did you make his clothes - he looks amazing in them - so life like. Great photo too. WOW!

49. jo1961 Thank you! Glad that you like him))) Yes, I've made his clothes and wig (my first experiment with those).

50. He's just amazing! I'm in awe of your sewing skills.

51. Wow.. just wow... I am going to ask if Dollshe will sell Grant head only :D

52. chrstphrl You are too kind. Thank you!)))
KaIsUki good luck! New heads are amazing. The more I look at my David/Walter, the more I like him. And this Grant head is very interesting.
l

53. Oh damn, I love Walter's soft look. I barely recognized it's a David. His facial features seem softened. Good job, Mitya!

Kaisuki, I was working till late, but I'm setting an alarm in my mobile for tonight so I won't forget ;) sorry .__.
If they won't sell, there is always an option to join someone ordering Grant and take an extra head. The doll can be ordered with two extra heads, if I see correctly.

Hum, I might as well add a photo too.

Two of my three DS boys. Nadir/Pabo, recently finished and Leander/Orijean, older, but adored just as much as new ;)
They are best friends.

(same wig & faceup as above, clothes M3 & Dollheart)

54. Dedra, I love your photo. so impressive ^///^

I really love Rhythmos hand. But the joint ball is easy to break ><
So I got a lot of the parts from Dollshe craft.
$2.8 /1 pair.

55. Grant is slowly eating his way into my soul. Those coloured resin ones are just :o

Does anyone who has a Grant also have a Saint or Bernard, and could photograph them together? Ideally an old body Saint or Bernard, but I will take what I can. I am interested in height, but also how well the faces would go together. If there are no Grants out there, a David will do.

Cheers.

56. they do look very flimsy o.O I guess the first thing I'll do when I get my boy is thicken the inside of
his wrists with some epoxy!

57. @MadamMauMau: I can do that this weekend for ya.

@Mitya69: Your boy is AWESOME! I love him ^^

58. Cheryl, you are a honeh. Grant is insisting that he be used to reshell one of my oldest characters, so I am being very cautious here. I'm not quite sure I trust him on that.

Apart from the early photos on the Dollshe site, anyone squeezed a David or Grant into a suit? He looked a little strange and pin-headed in the Dollshe pics. Just wondering if that was the cut of the suit or whether, due to the size of the body, he will just always look like a thug in a suit.

59. hiro_c, thanks! :)
I also got a spare parts for Rhythmos wrists, but before they were sent, I hotglued the broken ones into the wrist as a temp solution. Turned out, the glue keeps them just fine, so I left it like this. The only downside is that it's not allowing to put the dressing "fins" on.

Kaisuki, seems that DSAM's neck is 11 cm as well, so it only appears thicker o.O

Could anyone photograph David or Grant on DSAM, please? I'm so curious now.

(edit: in case anyone else had questions, I added credits for stuff used on my above photos)

60. I've been buying some wigs that Neale sold a few years back and washing them in a good hair softener. Those wigs washed up well and are stunning as well. They are also some of the nicest mohair wigs that are not custom made.

jo1961, I love your Bernard. I think of all the Dollshe dolls he is my favorite.

MadamMauMau, both Saint and Bernard are wonderful. I have a lt. tan Bernard and a oriental Saint, both of them have new bodies. I also have an old school bernard NR from the days that iplehouse sold them (old body). Imho, the new bodies are easier to cope with... If no one puts up photos soon, I'll take some pics.
