Fairyland Realpuki discussion - part 21

May 16, 2023

    1. While we wait for RP news and the like, I’ll use this time to look for clothes/wigs/etc that might fit their itty bitty bodies! In terms of clothing, I’ve heard these sizes also fit RP with a few exceptions:
      •Lati White
•Blythe Petite (RP torso is a bit wider so depends on the clothes)
•Bratz Kidz (some bottoms/long sleeves might be too long)
      •Barbie Extra Mini Minis
If there are any others you’d recommend please let me know! I also wonder if the old Barbie Kelly doll clothes or even nendoroid clothes might fit as well?

    2. I can settle in for the wait with you! Also happy to support any kind of letter to FL.. I think I have some Kelly clothes, a few random pieces, and I believe they are a bit baggy on the realpukis- they fit Puki Puki much better. Maybe someone else can confirm. I could definitely use more clothing options though, I’ve gotten so desperate I’m attempting teeny tiny crochet for them..

    3. Kelly clothes are a bit baggy for RP. I have a whole box of them, and generally I use them for my PPs, but every now and then I do find something that fits, or can be made to fit.

    4. Ah, my bad I was thinking of the shoes, I saw somewhere Kelly and Tommy shoes should fit RPs. I commend you for trying to crochet the clothes though, I tried myself but I always mess it up somehow :doh
I also forgot to add but Amelia Thimble and Little Pullip clothes should fit RPs as well!
I have a suspicion that Dollcena, Cupoche, and Little Dal clothes might fit them too but I’m not 100% sure.

      • x 1
    5. I'm fairly certain that Little Pullip and Little Dal share the same body so hopefully that opens up some options!

      I
re-did my realpuki Obi’s face :) His company faceup was a little chipped, but mostly I just wanted him in my style like my other dolls. His teeth look even more bucked, it’s so cute :whee:

    7. OMG How cute!!!!! You did such a lovely job he looks so precious :D

    8. Update on looking for RP clothes:
I found a doll brand called “Hairmazing” at Walmart that makes tiny 4” dolls with clothing included. The clothes look almost exactly RP size but I don’t have an RP myself yet to try it out on.

    9. I snapped a pic just for y'all of Realpukis wearing 4 different Kelly shoes. RP feet are in all of them (no cheating by removing feet). The shoes are snug but flexible for getting on and off. They're the closest-fitting non-RP shoes I've found.
Just don't keep them on your RPs for a long time - just to be safe.

    10. Thank you so much for the example, your little ones are so cute! :XD:

    11. It pains me to be the bearer of sad news, but I received an email reply from fairyland about the RPs returning and they said they do not have have immediate plans to re-release them due to difficulties making them, so we will not be seeing any releases soon. :( I’m so heartbroken.

    12. What a shame! Oh well, I'll just wait then :sorry

    13. (Please excuse the double post, they are a day apart lol.)
I took my Obi to a lighthouse! Almost got all of him and the tower in the photo :XD:

    14. Oh no I’m so sad :( I guess we will have to wait for a long time…

    15. I know :atremblin but it’s confusing, I’m positive I saw a post a while ago with a screenshot where Cerberus Project stated a new release would come in spring or summer of this year? I wonder what’s going on, getting mixed signals here.

    16. Ahhh the sadness deepens! I was almost able to snag a beautiful custom face up soso on a hong kong secondhand market (certificate, extra clothes, and everything) but I missed them but because the proxy service I was using did not purchase it in time. :...( The person who bought them already has a soso too I’m so sad

    17. Yep that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes! I'm sure one day you'll get your Soso! It sucks when a doll just slips through your fingers like that :pout:

    19. Very cute! Love the teeth. :)

    20. Sorry I know I already responded once, I apologize for clogging up the realpuki discussion so much :sweat But I’m getting a grey Obi soon and wanted to ask for your technique redoing the face up for the mouth/teeth area? Not a fan of the default bold red paint around his mouth and wanted to go for something more realistic like what you did here. Also hoping removing the paint won’t harm the grey base skin tone he has.

    21. No worries! More like keeping the realpuki thread alive
Get the smallest brush you can find! I use one I found at hobby lobby. It’s for painting miniatures. It’s called a spotter brush, size 20/0. I primarily use
watercolor pencils for line work, but I used acrylic paint for the teeth. Then a tiny bit of pink pencil to line his lips.
I don’t think acetone to remove the faceup with distort the gray color. I’ve never had an issue with it. Can’t speak for any other methods though.

    22. Thank you so much, I’ve never done a face up before and I know it’s a small area, but I’m just scared of messing him up lol. I’ve also heard you can use paint thinner to remove faceup paint but I think I’ll go with acetone since it easier to apply for me. Did you use any sealant for your faceup?

    23. Yeah I use Mr. Super Clear. :thumbup I say go for it! Faceups are so fun though take practice like anything else. And if you hate it you can always redo it.

I used to practice on Monster High dolls before my first bjd. Not exactly the same since it’s a different material but it’s good practice anyway. So can try repainting a Barbie, she has a small head too.

    24. Okay I’m going to try when my Obi gets here, although I like the eyes so I think I will keep the upper part of the faceup.:thumbup
Other than Kelly shoes, do we know any other type of shoes that fit Realpuki? Maybe petite Blythe shoes could fit as well, although OB11 size seems too big. I will have to experiment with a lot of options once my little one gets here:whee:

    25. can't wait to see what you come up with :)

    26. Sad to see this thread so quiet! Tried to post a pic from Flickr but I can’t figure out their new format…..anyone have any suggestions? TYIA

    27. Obi's growing on me. I wish I'd bought him when he came out - but at the time I didn't like him that much, and I mistakenly thought (hoped) that his release would mean they would be bringing back more RP.

I didn't notice any change in Flickr, so I can't help you there. :|
(I did notice that I'm running out of room on my account, and I don't want to buy more storage, so I guess I'll have to start removing pictures...)

Sorry, no pictures of my Soso, he insists that he wants to be dressed before he allows himself to be photographed. LOL!!

    28. At the lower right corner of the black area around a Flickr picture is a sort of bent arrow (if you hover over it, it says "Share photo"). Click it. Then select "BBCode". Then select the size of the picture. It is best to select "Medium" so that you don't get into trouble with oversized pictures. Copy the whole string that appears in the box. Then paste if into a DOA reply (don't select anything fancy from the icon list on the top of the reply box, just paste it as if it were regular text). You can use Preview to see that the picture looks all right,

    29. Thank you for suggestions spih & Fairy Milliner …unfortunately I’m still unable to get the needed BBCode like I used to. Now the only option I get is copy the URL which doesn’t work…..frustrating!

update…I just tried to get the BBCode from my personal page, not the Flickr site & I think my problem may be solved!

Wigs are by WeeDollyWears (Marie Patterson) on Facebook.
These wigs are the best I've found for RPs: they fit snuggly, look natural and don't have too much hair for these little guys.

      Love seeing new posts here.

    37. I love seeing everyone's photos. I'm a bad Dolly owner as I never take photos. I never seem to have suitable lighting or backdrop.

    40. @Jonlyn Thank you!
"Keebler" is the cutest name for your tiny and I love that sweater!

    41. Thank you @Answer42 ! Keebler’s sweater is really beautiful….handmade by a RP friend in Norway. Keebler is very good about sharing it with the rest

    43. Lucky ,lucky little Toby…his outfit is darling & so are his two sweet little friends!

    44. Has anyone had any luck finding any second hand? I sold my real puki pu pu years ago for a college text book I needed at the time and I regret it so much!!! I just had a baby and I wish I still had it to pass on to her when she was older .

    45. Now & then a Real Puki does come up for sale @LittleHobbit . One of the best places to find these is on the R P Facebook page…it’s also possible to post what you’re in search of there….it’s a very nice group. As soon as you have Marketplace privileges here I would suggest posting ISO here too. Good luck, I hope you’re able to replace your Pupu.

    46. Thank you!

    47. Sorry for being gone a while! It’s so nice to see all the new pictures of everyone’s RPs :D

I’ve been extremely lucky the past 6 months and managed to find 3 of my only little guys, I’m just searching for nice wigs before taking photos (I can’t help but spoil them!)

Has anyone had experience using DOLLCE Mini Sweets wigs for Realpukis at all? I found some cheap off a secondhand shop and was curious if it’s worth trying.

    48. Great to see you here again @DaisyDayes ! Your little one is darling & looks so pleased with her cute little dress.

    49. I’d love to find out where we can get some nice wigs !

    50. @LittleHobbit & @babyrozell …..Marie Patterson of WeeDollywears makes gorgeous RP size wigs. She posts them on her FB page. Mary Sherbet also makes beautiful tiny wigs. All of my RPs wear wigs from both of these great artists. Good luck!

    51. @LittleHobbit and @babyrozell , I second Marie Patterson! Also, you can look for Tashka's Bears on Etsy. She makes cute wigs too. Best way to buy from Marie Patterson is to join her Facebook page and get reminders when she posts. She only makes the wigs ocassionally and when she makes them, they go fast! Below is a picture of Soso in a Marie Patterson wig and a spoiler of Pupu in a Tashkasbear wig.

    53. @Konape Thank you!

      @LittleHobbit and @babyrozell
Marie Patterson of WeeDollyWears on Facebook will take Realpuki wig requests if you contact her directly. She's made boy RP wigs for me this year. Her wigs aren't cheap but they're the best! So I have quite a few of her great-fitting, realistic-looking, natural fiber RP wigs.

      • x 1
    54. Wow! Is she starting to take preorders again!

    55. @Dollquest
Marie might be able to do a pre-order. You could certainly ask her if she could make you a particular RP wig.
Earlier this year, Marie made me short boy-style wigs. Her public offerings were always longer girl-style, so I had to ask about shorter wigs.
Marie's RP wigs fit PERFECTLY and they don't double the size of RP's heads like fuller wigs!
I think I paid about $45 + shipping for each wig. Longer or more elaborate styles might be more.
      Fingers crossed for you!
