Fairyland Realpuki discussion - part 20

Apr 5, 2020

    1. Ben (DreamHigh House Elf) visits with his Realpuki friends every month or so since he first befriended them 2 years ago, during a stroll around the neighbourhood. They love it when he reads to them!

    2. Your tiny family is adorable from every perspective.

    3. Thanks very much, LicorneDream!!! Much appeciated!

    4. How sweet to see Ben reading to the little ones @El BJD .

    5. Thank you, Jonlyn! He enjoys reading to them.

    6. My dear little companion, Morticia Hallows, wants to say hi to the new thread. She’s a Halloween fairy, and if you fail to pass out treats to the children on Halloween, then she will bite you to instill the proper Halloween spirit!

    7. It's Easter and my gang have invaded the bakery! Lucky for them the baker is hard at work in the back room.

    8. @vermont chick Wow, you truly can’t get more precious than that...and awesome props! This made my day.:)

    9. Thanks! The bakery display is a new addition to American Girl's Seaside Diner set. AG dolls are huge but I don't let the disparity in size bother me: if I can find a reason for a tiny doll to be in a much larger setting, I just go with it. Glad you like it!

    10. I made for Tealtilla new dress and she is very proud of it.

    11. @LicorneDream you did a great job and I’m sure your little one appreciates being dressed in something so lovely. It’s difficult to sew for something so small as RealPukis, so I’m very impressed.:)

    12. @LicorneDream - What a sweet photo! The dress is lovely and makes Tealtilla look like a little princess.

    13. @PoeticSoul @vermont chick thank you!
Hahaha, Teala really likes to depict from herself a spoiled little princess, but usually not for long time. She is too curious.
I think curiosity is a characteristic trait for realpukis.
Hope to see more of your pukis too.

Mischief makers! Too much time at home, so much trouble to find .

    15. It looks like they have found hidden sweets and eat them all.

      • x 1
    16. @Jonlyn - I think they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. "I didn't do it." Wink-wink.

    17. I love these little guys :) I look forward to the day I will eventually own one. I really like the Roro, Tyni and Toki sculpts.

    18. El BJD I love the flower 'hat' did you make it?

    19. Thanks, Booksandtea! The flower headband was made by desertmountainbear several years ago.

I'd have reached for the 'real' sweets, vermont chick! :)

Mischief makers are always the cutest in the bunch, eh Jonlyn! <grin>

    22. @El BJD ...so that’s what I’ve been hearing! So happy for you!! I want a Titi so badly. If only we had known how suddenly production would end. Look forward to photos of your new addition.

    23. If it ok can I ask what happened? I can't seem to find any discussion on it? It seems to be my luck to come late to something.

    24. I think many of us would like that answer too @Booksandtea ! Many people have asked Fairyland & their US rep. I think the reply has mostly been that their production person in charge of Real Pukis was seriously injured & production would be suspended until his or her recovery. I don’t think they have ever clearly stated that they have no intentions of resuming production but I may be wrong. I haven’t checked their website for a long time so I’m not sure if RPs are still pictured or not. Maybe someone else here has more info? I am really disappointed too as these are my very favorite dolls & even though I’m fortunate to have quite a few I don’t think you can ever have too many!

I just checked the Fairyland website & Real Pukis are still pictured but not available. Maybe a glimmer of hope that they really may make a comeback?

    25. I think you will LOVE him...……….he just might be my favorite of my RP's. There is just something about that little face. Here is one of mine I took at Easter.

    26. This seems to be FairyLand's general modus operandi. A line of dolls appears to be going strong and then suddenly all is silent. When people ask about it, the person answering questions usually has no answer. As for the pictures still being on the site, so are pics for FeePle 70 (anyone remember them?) , FeePle 65 (long time no see) and ChicLine (they never got enough love, IMO). It would be easy to blame the Chinese person who claimed ownership of FairyLand (and most other BJD companies) for all of these lines being in limbo, but the disappearing doll lines seemed to be a habit well before then. Sometimes I think FL get tired of some lines but don't want to kill them completely in case someday they want to go back and revive them. Did they really need an anime line when people are still clamoring for RealPukis?

    27. Darling picture @JinCIncy

Because I’m not interested in larger dolls,@vermont chick , I didn’t realize that FL had so many other dolls still pictured but not available! I’m afraid a lot of people have given up asking about RP production. Maybe it’s time we all send emails to let them know how many people would love to be able to get them again.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend !

    28. @Jonlyn - There are probably others. Was LittleFee Baby only a one-time thing? Did they give up on RealFee? Or their Mandrake Moor collaboration with Victoria Frances (FM60)? I know what you mean about not noticing the sizes you don't collect, though. I tend not to notice them, either, except when FL suddenly offer something in another line, which always starts me wondering: When do we get ours?

I would send them an email or two if I thought it would do any good.

    29. @vermont chick they had the dragon Realfees just recently. DDE still has some in stock, so that line has had SOME activity recently anyway. I do wish they would revive the Realpuki's, even if its with one or two new ones, like they did with the Realfee line.

    30. Wow @vermont chick ...I don’t know anything about the other dolls you mentioned! I have one Realfee...at least I’m pretty sure of the size...she is the arong sculpt. Love her droopy look but I’ve never really bonded with her & sometimes wonder why I’m keeping her as she just stays in the box. Wish now that I had gotten the bigger Soso. I would send daily emails too if I thought it would help but sadly I think it’s hopeless.

    31. I hear all of you about really missing our Realpuki line, and whole-heartedly agree. People have been clamoring for them for years, but at Fairyland our voices just seem to fall on deaf ears. My poor little Morticia (Aki) is a much loved single Realpuki, and I’ve wanted to find her some friends for years now, but alas no luck. She lives all alone in a beautiful fairy house I made out of an old tree trunk, with tons of room for more little ones. But I recently finally gave up entirely and bought a huge SD to be her companion/guardian just so she could finally have a friend and not be all alone in her display area.

      • x 2
    32. Need pix of your Morticia's fairy house. She'll look so sweet on your new SD's shoulder!

    33. @JinCIncy - I had forgotten about the recent dragon RealFees. I'm still waiting for FL to come out with a RealFee sculpt I like enough to purchase. Dragon legs don't do it for me.

@Jonlyn - I tend to glance at FL's other lines whenever a new sculpt comes out, probably because I've had a number of them over the years. I'm down to one FM60, one PukiFee, 3 LittleFees and my 4 RealPukis. The only ones I regret selling are my ChicLines. Now that other companies have fashion lines with adult bodies and proportionate heads, my ChicLine couple would have fit right in. (Soso is never a bad choice, no matter what size he comes in. When in doubt, go for a Soso.)

@PoeticSoul - I agree with @El BJD. I'd like to see Morticia's fairy house, too. I think pairing her with a much larger doll is a fun idea.

    34. I too would love to see Morticia’s lovely home.
We can’t get new RealPukis so we should share more pics!
So these are last springs flowers but we are tired of waiting for this years blossoms!

    35. @PoeticSoul I think the Realpukis can be fun with the bigger dolls! I have my Dollstown Elf girls interact with mine quite often.
@Jonlyn Your little one is adorable in the flowers and I agree we should all just share our RP's more often.

    36. A lovely little bloomer in amongst the flowers, Jonlyn!

      Love your 2 girls, JinCIncy!

    37. Thank you @JinCIncy. Your two are adorable together beautiful picture!

@vermont chick , yes, it’s hard to find anything cuter than a sweet Soso. I do love all of the sculpts though & it would be impossible for me to choose a favorite. They each have their own personalities & charm.

Thanks @El BJD .....Poppy really is a little bloomer. She’s really excited that our magnolia tree is full of buds & can hardly wait to go out & play in the flowers when they open.

    38. @Jonlyn such a beautiful photo of your little one among the flowers! She’s so perfect in that setting.:)

@JinCIncy thank so much you for that inspiring photo. I feel a lot better now that my idea of using a big (65cm) guy will actually work.

Her new companion is still very much a work in progress (and currently buck naked) so no photos of him and Morticia together yet (that would be unseemly!) But his wardrobe is my May project, so hopefully soon. He’s destined to be a boy of the forest, so the two of them will go well together I think. Sorry for the sensory overload here (it’s difficult to get the entire thing in a single photo) but here is her tree house with his chair next to it so he’ll be able to watch over her. For anyone who’s curious, the house is an old mesquite trunk with roots, turned upside down, that I once found alongside the road and drug all the way home with a rope (because my husband was at work with our car at the time.) It also has a fully decorated backside with a bedroom. The little tower area at the very top holds her little wooden coffin, which I use as a carry case whenever she accompanies me on trips outside the house. As you can see, only one tiny Realpuki in residence.

    39. @PoeticSoul Your little ones house is Wonderful!! I have some room boxes for mine that my husband made that I play with decorating seasonally.
Here is another of all my Realpuki's with my DT girls. I think they can look so cute with the bigger dolls! I look forward to seeing your little Aki with her guardian when he gets ready to make an appearance.

    40. This is wonderful, PoeticSoul! Now we'll need to see the back side bedroom, lol!

Your DT girl is quite lovely, JinCIncy. Makes me realize I have no ethereal looking bjds at all! And you have a delightful bunch of RPs!

    42. I don't know which is more amazing, @PoeticSoul, your tree trunk house or the story of how you got it home! I, too, would like to see the back side. I would never have thought to turn it upside down--what a marvelous effect that has.:abow:

    43. i agree! that house is so cool! it makes me want to immediately move off the prairies (where about the only thing we find on the side of the road is weeds and dead skunks

    44. Love your awesome tree house @PoeticSoul !

We must live in the same neighborhood @auntbear ....we too only have weeds & car/deer victims! Our beautiful little 20 year old Chinese maple tree didn’t survive our last extreme winter. Some branches looked slightly promising so DH didn’t cut it completely down but left it about 4 feet tall. Sadly no signs of life this spring. I’ve been thinking of adding fairy doors, windows solar lighting but one of my dogs is a boy...nuff said!

    45. Thanks so much for the info. i hadn't heard that and I hope their production person is okay. I really want to get my first (and will probably the only one) at some point and I like to buy from the original source when I can but I also like second hand so adopting one would also be fine.

I hope that glimmer of hope will become shiny lol

    46. You are so lucky to find it and really talented. I love the tower and it's multi uses. I am thinking about making a clock home like Tinkerbell's in the movie hook that can double as a carry case but not 100% sure how or if that would work.
I hope the walk and having to drag the tree trunk along wasn't too bad. How far was it?

    47. Thank you all for such lovely comments on Morticia’s tree house. I’s greatly appreciated.:) It was indeed a labor of love...and to answer a question, I dragged it home with that rope for 3 blocks (and it weighed close to 70lbs before we trimmed it!) It was in July in Arizona, and blazing hot with temperatures in the 100s of course. Gave me quite a work out as I recall.:sweat But my fondest memory of the project was my dear husband out in the heat, with a chainsaw in his hands, covered head to toe in sawdust sticking to his sweat, hollowing out the alcoves I needed, with a big smile on his face. All for one, single tiny Realpuki! Can you tell she’s dearly loved?

Here is the back, which holds her bedroom.

    48. @PoeticSoul - That's real devotion on your husband's part. I'm so glad the job made him smile. I LOVE the inside of the tree. What a fabulous bedroom!:love The addition of flowers to decorate the inside walls is extra special.

    49. Little Morticias home is just awesome @PoeticSoul! How sweet that it was a labor of love too.

Ok, I’m almost afraid to hope but a member on the RP Facebook group emailed Fairyland asking about RealPukis. She received a prompt answer saying they are planning to resume RP production along with some others at the end of the year! I am going to send them an email to let them know how very happy I am to hear this.

      • x 4
    50. I saw that FB note too @Jonlyn , and was really happy to hear it. Keeping fingers crossed!
      @PoeticSoul that treehouse is awesome!!

      • x 1
    51. Yes, fingers crossed for sure @JinCIncy ! It’s been so long I’m almost afraid to get too excited about it. Hoping they resume production of the old line but also would love some new sculpts. Hope there will be more information soon.

    52. I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I seem to remember FL making promises in the past that it didn't keep. But just in case, I think I'll start saving money in a special Fee Fund. I wonder which other lines they plan to reopen? I really want another PukiFee, too.

    53. Ditto to that sentiment, vermont chick!

Anyway, here is my Titi and her tag along friend, Kaka who both safely arrived yesterday after only a week in transit!

    54. They are adorable @El BJD !! Congrats on getting them!

    55. Thanks, JinCIncy! It's so odd how things work out sometimes. Kaka barely beat the tape going onto the box, lol!

    56. Wow well done. Not sure if I could have dragged it in those temperatures. Where I live we don't get that high temps. I don't do well in the heat when I do go on holiday. I am more of a autumn/winter person lol

Awe such a lovely husband. My dad did something similar for me over 5 years ago, helping with a dollhouse project. He was happy to be doing something together as a father/daughter project.

Yep Morticia is dearly loved and no wonder. She's lovely.

    57. Welcome to your little Kaka, @El BJD. OMG, their outfits are so cute!:D

    58. Thanks, vermont chick! Kaka was a last minute add to Titi's box. I imagine a lot of whispering going on throughout their journey, lol!
