Anthrogirl - your Hazel looks so cute in her knitted dress and hat. Love the curl on the hat. I can't wait until I get my Pupu and Popo but I know it will be awhile. What is the wait like for these guys when you order direct from Fairland. Anyone know.

 

Awesome a new thread! My little Fluff is excited, her new duds from Spampy are on their way....I ordered extra for my incoming Pupu too.

 

Holy! I'm actually getting to post on the first page. Usually it takes me a few days to figure out the thread was closed (waiting for an email update on the thread and not getting it ).

Hazel is really cute and I love her hat. She reminds me of a Who with it on.

I'm waiting on a basic Popo and basic Pupu (no faceups). Will be a while before I can get their faces done but at least I will have them.

I've already ordered the wig for my roro (to be named Buckwheat) but I'm not sure if I should start buying her clothes until she gets here! I just can't wait to do her faceup! How long does it usually take fairyland to ship out dolls? I've never ordered from them before.

 

I love Hazel's wig. It's a nice nice length and wisp. My last Fairyland order, which I placed through DDE, took over five months to ship from FL to DDE. I'm hoping this one won't take so long. They were backlogged really badly the last time for some reason. But, who knows? I'm waiting to make stuff for my Aki and Roro because I have nothing else that size to model, and at that level of tininess, half a cm can make a big difference!

 

A friend sent me a Ty Lil One, so I could use it to make patterns for my incoming Real Puki. The legs are too long, but the rest of the body will work as a mannequin.

 

ooh new thread already...and no new realpukis, I can't wait!!! >.< I saw that FL is going fast with decemeber and january orders but with event orders who knows, they're so many!!

I only have 1/4 payments paid anyway so the long wait isn't so bad for me. I just got a new doll so I've been distracting myself with her... haha

 

I sure like Hazel. Can you tell more about her wig? That hat makes me smile.

I just went to Fairyland website to see how long my guys will take. They say 50 days and don't cound weekends (I think). If that is the way it is I ordered Jan 25 so should be ready the first week of April. I hope it is sooner because I am going away for a week the middle of April. I hate packages arriving when I am away.

Another thing, Popo full package is still available, but Basic Pupu and Basic Popo are over with, SOLD OUT. The other little basic people are still available but that is probably just a matter of time. I thought they would stop selling all at the same time. So for those that hesitated, they are out of luck now.

 

Shashy - Thanks for doing the math! I should get my order around my birthday! What a wonderful present.

 

Shashy Popo and Pupu basic had to be in stock only for the event period and are not supposed to come back again unless in another full package.. :/ I bought Pupu (basic) for this reason, even if he was not in my "urgent" wishlist

Thanks her wig is from 1mim here on DOA, I've got several of her wigs and they fit Realpukis perfectly (even when they're hanging up side down!) I've got brown and dark blond 1mim wigs waiting for the new RPs to wear the hat I knitted myself.

Yeah, weekends and holidays (that they celebrate) are not included in the 50 days. Kinda sucks really.

This is exactly why I bought both the basics. Even though they may bring them back as a different fullset, I didn't want to wait for another fullset or take the chance that they may never bring them back.

Hi guys, Poor pitiful me didn't save the link to 1mm wigs so now I can't find them. I couldn't find it on the market place and tried googling and no luck. I will admit I am too lazy to go back to the previous thread and check back who knows how far. Would someone please help me and post the link and I promise to save it this time. I thought I did but it doesn't seem to be there. I should have just ordered the wigs when I looked there a couple of weeks ago. Thanks.

Thank you very much Shayi, I was putting in 1mm not 1mim so no wonder I couldn't find it. I will now save it. This saved me a whole bunch of time and frustration.

 

I've taken the habit of bookmarking links of interesting sellers or things I want to look into again when i find them. While it's great to know I have the links, I now have a folder of a bajillion links. I really need to sort them out.

Ok, a stupid question. When you say you bookmark them, do you mean you save them in your favourites. I can't see anything that says bookmark. In case you haven't quessed, I am older, not the young computer savy people that are younger that we have here.

 

Hello all! I've been AWOL for a while due to school and work, and will probably go back to that shortly. I have my first Real Puki on order. I kept seeing all the cute pictures and just had to get one. I am wondering how everyone takes such good pictures. Are their any tricks for taking close up pictures of dolls?

Hi Brook, congrats on ordering your new little one, I'm sure you will love him or her! I don't have the greatest camera in the world, but I click on the macro feature in order to take better closeups.

 

I contacted 1mim about getting a wig for my incoming Roro on Friday and no answer . Anyone know how long it usually takes for a response?

 

if you look on the very top of the window you open for browsing, there should be words like file, edit, view, history, bookmarks etc. click on the word bookmark and then when a small screen opens click on "bookmark this page" then add it to whatever file you want. - can be as simple as having them all under your name or you can have a bunch of folders so you can sort by category. clear as mud? (you can pm me if that doesn't make sense)

alternatively if the link is on doa you can just subscribe to the thread of the sellers you like, then simply check your subscriptions to find them again.

napria, I would like to know the same thing, as I tried to order three wigs today. I'm sure that she is in demand, but it would be nice to know what kind of wait time we should expect (and congrats on your incoming Roro!).

 

last time I ordered from 1mim it took a few days for her to respond, so you'll probably hear from her soon. the wigs are worth the wait

 

awww thanks that made my day! so far Hazel only has 1 wig but sometimes she just wears an elf hat instead. She actually belongs to my Mom, but she spends a lot of time doing clothing fittings with me (especially now that I've got 2 RPs of my own coming that need lots and lots of clothing )

 

Anthrogirl, I love your purple cap with the twisty handle! I bought one from you a couple of days ago, and can't wait fir it to arrive!

I've tried to order her (and actually did order her and cancelled) so many times, I'm afraid she's built up too much in my mind now that I've actually gone through with the order. I'm going to try to forget till she comes home in 4 or 5 months.

 

I will have to practice with my micro setting on my camera. :-)

On Internet Explorer it's called Favorites (or Favourites for some of us). On Firefox (and probably some others), it's called Bookmarks. As others have said, they both mean the same thing, just different browsers call it different things.

Subscribing is another good idea, auntbear. However, I've found with the new beta testing on some of the threads in the MP, I can't subscribe to a thread in those sections, as it won't let me post in that thread (unless I'm doing it wrong). I guess once that's over we will be able to again. Until then, I just bookmark/save the links. XD Either way works though.

she is pretty busy and maybe just wasn't on the computer this weekend. she does always reply though and i'll second the notion that she is worth the wait. i love her wigs!

 

I have also contacted 1mim about wigs and no answer but it is a long weekend here in Canada, not sure about you Americans, plus maybe she is busy. We want her busy sewing our wigs, right? I will pm her again in a few days if no answer by then. Maybe she is on holidays as well.

I find that as soon as I decide I want something and ready to order I want it to happen instantly. It doesn't work that way unfortunately. This is the worst hobby for waiting. I do not like that aspect of it at all.

 

Just curious, what is the occasion for Canadians? For us Americans it's Presidents day.

And, yeah, I know what you mean about wanting things to happen quickly. I used to be that way too. But after waiting for all the dolls I've had I've got a coping philosophy that helps, part of which is stay completely away from the waiting room thread, lol. The thing about this incoming Roro is that I've heard that wigs can be tough, so I'd like to get this squared away and then forget Roro for a few months. If I set my sights on late July to start thinking about her again, I'll be fine.

 

Late July? You mean they are going to take this long? OMG!!! But how many months does Fairyland usually take? I was expecting my incoming Realpukis arround April!

I have experienced many wait times but with these little two I feel like a newbie, they are my first RealPuki and I am so excited about them... I can not stop thinking in them and planing photos!

 

I ordered from Denver Doll. Their orders can take up to a month longer than going through Fairyland directly, although the orders don't always take that much longer.

RealPukis take 50 "working" days so take the weekends and holidays out when you calculate. Personally, I usually calculate when I get confirmation and then add a week if I've ordered directly or a month if I've ordered from DDE, note the approximate arrival date and try to forget till then.

And don't forget there was an Event, which can push the orders back.

Napria- Some of us in Canada have a holiday today but not all. Several provinces (including me here in Ontario) have a Family Day or Heritage Day. In Ontario only some people get it off, like schools, stores and provincial workers are off but federal employees and the post office don't.

1mim does take a long time to answer her email...it was over a week when I got a response. She does have a lengthy waiting list. I have a 5 week wait ahead of me.

I have a four week wait (which is almost up, actually, yay!) on my 1mim wigs. I'm sure she got a flood of orders when people started planning for their new additions.

I've heard this before from someone.. it makes no sense that the government creates the holiday, but then doesn't include itself in it. Whatever, it's a holiday for me now that I'm no longer working retail, so I'm not arguing with it. The mall where I used to work, is now open 364 days of the year (not open on Xmas). I'm so glad I got out before that crap happened.

I ordered my two at the last minute, so I'll be waiting for a while. I figured it would be the end of April before they show up on my doorstep. The only thing that may cause them to be earlier is that neither of them have a faceup. Don't know if that will help it go faster or not.

I did order from Fairyland so that should be a couple of weeks faster than a dealer, but since they are both fullsets plus a sleeping faceplate with faceup, I guess I will be waiting for quite awhile. I find it so hard waiting that long when you have already put out the money for the items. I really think these places should have us pay half when we order and then the other half when they are shipped. I don't know of many places where you order things and pay the whole amount upfront and then it takes months. When we ordered blinds for the house, it was half and than the other half. That makes much more sense to me. I guess we are really lucky that most of the doll companies are reputable and don't take our money and then run. It is a long way from Canada to Korea or China for us to knock on their doorstep and demand our money back if we do not have our items. If something did happen, I guess we would be out of luck.

 

Shashy good thing you're not into Charles Creatures Cabinet. Don't know what's going on with them now, but I know for at least a year there were plenty of people who paid in full up front and didn't get their dolls. That's a big yikes! I think they might be slowly getting their dolls in. I also have a friend who has been waiting over 6 months for her doll from Iplehouse. In the 4 years I've been collecting BJDs Fairyland has been pretty consistent. Although they do tend to slow down with Event backlogs. But not too badly.

DaisyLady and Loki's Mom thanks for the info. It's interesting how we both have a holiday around the same time but for different reasons. And we both celebrate Thanksgiving but in different months! Weird, huh?

 

Well I think Fairyland are right on track with their orders! I just went on my account and my pupu fullset is "Before Shipping" YAY!!! so I think we will be seeing these little ones very shortly.

 

Wonder when Fairyland will make new clothes for these little ones any time soon.

 

CCC screwed several people and companies over so very criminally that they are now banned, and any dolls made by them after the mess are also banned. (See the Off Topic and Banned Dolls list.)

Fairyland will likely never do anything so horrible as that, and they tend to be pretty consistent with orders, although recently some of their quality has been reported to occasionally have minor issues. They have a previous history of pretty good customer service, though...
