Fairyland Realpuki discussion part 9

This is my Fairyland family. I printed off the picture and wrote the names by the dolls. At first I thought the names for the real puki were so strange. A new thread with lots of good pictures coming I am sure.

Brook, your little family always brings a big smile to my face. They always look like they are planning something secret. I think my two would love to be in on it too.

Moonbeam, I am a huge fan of Popo boys and yours is just adorable. It is a shame we don't live on the same continent, the bears and dolls would probably have a wonderful play day.

Brook: Yes he loves to travel! The caravan is by Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters. He also has a motorcycle with a side car which he loves to ride around.

Yes! I found the new thread while it's still on the first page! (Usually takes me about 5 pages before I figure out there's a new one.) XD

Evelien, I found that my Aki faceplate doesn't fit properly on my Cupid3's body.

For obvious reasons, I don't use the Puki body with his fp, but I think, with a wig, it wouldn't be noticed that it doesn't fit well. Maybe with time and usage, yours will work it's way into fitting (depending on how it doesn't fit on the headback).

annetta! You are killing me with these photos (referring to this pic). I spent a good part of my evening the other night just looking through your Flickr. You have so many inspiring pictures there.

Bahaha! I've been looking at Sylvanian Families (and some generic similar stuff) on eBay and bought a few things of CC from a local store here. Some of their stuff is too cute. I'd love to get a caravan or one of the houses. They look like a lot of fun for a RP.

EriChanHime I love your two sleeping critters. I wish the other RPs had some sleeping faces. I think the sps are more like laughing faces on the others which I love too. But would like both!! Am I too greedy!! lol

felizzzzz, what a pity your Arisha didn't come to visit my Gipsy! We live in Israel And there are almost no BJD collectors here, and no FL RPs around at all...

My daughter's (11) Soso - Mory - is not so well When she arrived there was a little problem with her faceplate (it was a bit loose, with a little gap in the connection line between the faceplate and the back head), but we thought it is not such a big deal. But with a time it got looser and looser, and now it doesn't hold at all. It ended up with an accident - the faceplate fell down and one of her ears got broken So we glued the ear and I put an eye putty in this hole inside the back head to keep the faceplate safely on its place. But my daughter is really upset and she doesn't feel confident enough to play with Mory as much as she wants anymore.
She even started talking of selling Mory and buying bigger doll instead (PF size). I don't know if anyone would buy damaged Soso... So if you have problems with your dolls, don't hesitate and report to FL immediately. Otherwise it can be too late.

 

Hey guys! Yay, a new topic! Thanks for the magnet tip - I'm sorry, I forget who it was in the previous topic - but I'll stick with the putty for now. I do have those tiny magnets indeed though, so I can always switch to them at some point . And thanks Loki's mom for that pic. I will be making a wig for my Tapioca soon, so that the gap full of eyeputty will no longer be visible, lol!

Oh, it's so easy to get the cutest props for these guys, but it's all so expensive! Today I almost bought some Playmobil and Sylvanian Families stuff, but then decided I'd build Tapioca a house myself. Luckily, a family member called to ask if I wanted some old wooden dollhouse furniture or she'd throw it away. Yes!! Please!!

yoshek, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's Soso. I know if you put it on the marketplace, someone would buy the body, and you might even get someone to buy the faceplate, broken ear and all. But I hope she decides to give it one more try. They're such cute dolls, and sometimes the boo-boos make a doll special.

So maybe I'll just make her new clothes and shoes and things will look better

Yoshek, does your daughter's Soso have also a sleeping faceplate?
I don't remember right now if I saw her, but if she has a wig and no SF, you could put a little drops of white glue on the headback an the faceplate and glue the wig to them, it would give the faceplate additional hold. White glue can be removed easily.

Tari got her sleeping face finally. And my guess unfortunately prove true - the new FL faceups are much more strongly blushed pink than the old ones. Or maybe the faceup just fade in the last year...
Anyway, finally Tari can sleep. She was all excited about it, got her a special sleeping outfit...



... and now she sleeps and sleeps and sleeps...

No, we are not selling Soso at the end I suggested my daughter to enhance the "injury" by drawing sort of scar on it, and she really loved the idea. She is in "creepy" period now, loving vampires and so on, so it fits her She even wants to give her Soso red eyes

Our Soso doesn't have SF, but my daughter cannot diсide about the wig. For now I put a tiny piece of an eye putty inside the back head - there is sort of hole there - so it holds FP nicely and can't ve seen from outside.

I am so tempted to get one of those Calico Critters gypsy wagons, it's so perfect for a concept I have for the whole tiny family and circus theme I have but it looks like it was only released in Canada and the UK and I think shipping might be prohibitive even for a second hand one.
Back to the ebays for more searching!

Eeeeep - I'd better get off my tushie and start taking more RP pics !!! Actually, I wiped Bug and I'm only half done with her new face as the humidity is way to high anyway, she won't be much different. Lovely first and second page spam everyone !!!

 

I have had the faceplate not fitting pukipuki bodies problem also. None of my new realpuki faceplates fit on the older (MP) pp bodies I bought them...I sanded and fussed...I put magnets in and still the fp's fall off. I am very discouraged. I made them tight caps to keep their faces on but am so sad they are now more fragile.
I did find the one of the reasons it didn't fit was the little internal structure that holds the fp magnets, I sanded and got that area to fit but the ears are in different positions and the head is too big. What to do?

 

Has anyone contacted FairyLand about the faceplates not being interchangeable? Maybe they need to change their website or change their RP or PP moulds?

Thanks! Yes, I made the outfit. The "bed" is actually a beanie hat I made for my Littlefee. But Tari decided it makes more sense if she uses it for a nest. And my LTF doesn't mind anyway.

Thanks Hainee. At first my favourite was Soso, now it's Popo. Yes they are custom face ups. At first I tried to just alter them but ended up taking the whole face off and starting again.

 

I do think you are right about Popo and Soso, I have them both too, and Popo is definitely Soso's younger brother. I swear he even looks littler.

Popo is now also my favorite, but I don't tell Soso.

 

argh i missed 5 days of the thread again! 'course part of it was i wasn't on the computer much but still..
anyway i though i'd introduce mr tumnus. he looks innocent but i think he is a real troublemaker.
i tried to find the realpuki clothing bin once his face was done to get out his welcome home suit from willow's wardrobe and even though the bin is clear i couldn't find it anywhere. he just kept streaking around the house nude and laughing while smidge and beezie hid their faces. it took a week to finally find it nd then i realized all the pukifees clothes were missing. today i found their bin upside down and emptied all over my closet floor... on top of some stuff i was looking at yesterday. i swear the girls never caused this much trouble before. but then i look at his face and melt. what am i to do?
