Coffeyhouse, gryllinae is so cute, it's nice to see he has such a cute friend like hopper x

    6. Yes Sherbet I hand dyed my yarn. glad you like them, more colours to be added today

    7. Coffeyhouse your little gryllinae is adorable

    8. I am so far behind in reading and answering that there is now a new thread. Thank you for all the compliments on my mouse trap game photo.
Sisen, I love your photos. They always make me smile.
wovenflame love your becky. She is such a cutie. Wish I had the sleep plate now to my Sophie.

      Hi! by richila9098, on Flickr
Aygul is thrilled to be on the first page.

    11. Such adorable photos for the new thread. Man, I've really got to stop doing all these other dolly projects and get around to taking some photos of my Grannybelle for this thread.:sweat She's been such a good sport about being patient with how busy I've been lately.

To answer your question from the previous thread, yeah, I'm afraid it's all about the regrets of having to camp out in the MP.:( I went through the same thing with my very first realpuki (whom I later sold.) I didn't order her with a sleeping face and always regretted it! So when I purchased my current realpuki, Grannybelle (a Pupu) I made darn sure I ordered her sleeping face with a faceup!!! Lesson learned the hard way.;)

    12. Wovenflame I can tell Becky and Bobby like to be first on the new page. They are pretty special

fayette2009 Lovely fairy dress and the flower petal hat is so nice.

desertmountainbear Lu makes me want to get up and do the happy dance. :-)

richila I can tell she wants to go really fast

CoffeyHouse That little dragon is just the right size.

Just a sneak peak at a new dress. What spring flower is on the bottom of this dress??

      Brook

    13. Brook- I love your dress,,, Are the flowers Grape Hyacinth?

    14. Yes, that is my guess too. It is very pretty, I love the color combination.

    15. ooh new thread and I don't have a picture >.< I'll take one before dinner if I can..
I just wanted to say how lovely are all of these Roros, they're so delicate and sweet, I'm glad I have one :D
ok, no, I wanted to say also that I opened one of the old threads and in the past seeing a picture with 5 realpukis looked crazy to me, now it's totally normal! eheh

    16. WooHoo new thread! No time for new pics today.
Looks like Becky and Bobby were up early for breakfast and got the early bird first picture!
Those wonderful littles dancers, fayette's in her crocus dress and Lu doing her happy dance just make me smile!
Aygul my kids think you have one cool ride!
Are they Grape Hyacinths or early Stock, Brook? Either way, it's a lovely spring dress!
Off to work with me! Have a great day all! :D
Oops! I almost forgot little Gryllinae and baby hopper! Happy new thread day!

    17. With Popo on order, I've been admiring everybody's great outfits and wondering how to make the lovely crochet ones.
I've only made amigurumis so far soI've only used wool and just simple stitches.
So... erm... where do I start? Where do people find patterns for crochet rp dresses/outfit? And what kind of thread / yarn are you using?

Any tip would be appreciated (^_^)

    18. princessr, i think wovenflame has rp patterns? xx

    19. Yes, Wovenflame has some beautiful patterns available to knit. Are you a member of Ravelry?

I like using lace weight & size 30 or 80 cotton. Sometimes when I can't find a color I'm looking for, I use embroidery floss (2 or 3 plys). I also will separate worsted or sport weight to a single ply if I really like it.

When I crochet (like the outfit Gryllinae has on in his picture) I just make it up as I go along. Trial & error :)

    20. when I went to my room to take a picture all of my realpukis were sleeping.. :/ of course when SoSnow heard me talking about the new thread he woke up and told me that I hadn't to wait, he would be happy to say "hi" alone XD
      [IMG]
      hi new thread!

Ps they had guessed Bluebells, Miss Brook. Guess they have to go back to Flower Fairy School.

    22. What a cute dress Brook. I'll guess bluebells?
Okay, I see I was wrong but I see Onetwobead's two munchkins thought the same thing.

MarshMellina, Your realpukis look adorable sleeping in their box bed. I love that idea to keep them in.

    23. Hi, everyone! I love the pictures in this thread! All your dolls are so cute! I have a question and wonder if any of you know. I am buying a roro faceplate and wondered if anyone has tried their faceplate on a puki puki body? DD website says they will fit.

    24. Brook
Love your new spring dress. All that hand embroidery takes a lot of time. I love seeing all your pictures of your dolls in their cute outfits you make. You make my day with your pictures.
      desertmountainbear
Love your Lu! She is adorable and you did fabulous on her dress. You are sew talented. I had a hard time deciding between Pupu and So so because yours are so cute. But So so won out. Thanks for sharing pictures.

    25. I tried this a few days ago with mixed luck. My RP faceplate fit on my pukipuki body with a little bit of play and it looked okay for scale. There was some overlap so it would look best with a wig to cover the seams. I could not get the pukipuki faceplate to fit on the RP body -- that, I think, would take some sanding to get it to stay or some magnets...

edit: correction! See next post below...

    26. I have been stalking the RP thread since thread #3 when I didnt even have any RP. Now that I have two of my own, I find myself still just lurking. I LOVE all the pictures. RP are so versatile and it is so easy to give them unique personalities. Normally by the time I want to respond to the thread, there are so many great pictures I am afraid I will forget to acknowledge some one.
Wovenflame: Bobby and Becky are totally adorable. I loved Bobby's face up so much, I sent my PuPu to Ban Sidhe to be redone. The little doll house scene is just perfect.
Fayette2009: You have such a talent making those fabulous outfits. The crocus dress is just the thing to welcome spring (soon, I hope)
Coffeyhouse: Gryllinae and Hopper are quite the pair. His little outfit is so cute. I especially like the hat. Did you make it yourself?
DesertMountainBear: Lu has one of my favorite PuPu faceups. You did a great job on her. Love the wig and outfit you made for her.
Richila: Aygul looks like she is having great fun on her motor bike. Soon we will be hearing a RP chorus of "I want one too"
Brook: Embroidery is hard enough without having to do it so tiny. One of your RP will be so pleased to have it. I was going to guess hyacinth for the flowers, so I was half right.
Onetwobead: Your garden tea party is too cute. It is great to see the new faces (Ara & Sira) having fun. The little cupcakes and donuts are just the right size.
MarshMellina: Your sleepy family is so precious. Of course with SoSnow awake, it is a only a matter of time before all the others are awake as well. RPs always love company and he has lots of companions to hang with.
MyHeartforCrochet: Those are some amazing outfits. Your RP certainly have a great wardrobe to pick from. A different style, a different color for every day.

    27. Thank you! I often see puki bodies for sale on the market place and Fairyland sells those separately so I thought it might be easier to get than a real puki body.

    28. Actually, I just tried the combos again and, of course, I got them mixed up! I should know better than to try and remember something before lunch...

Pukipuki faceplate fit VERY WELL on the RP body -- snapped in nice and tight -- but it does look a bit big and bobbly. The RP faceplate fit with a bit of a struggle on the pukipuki body -- it had a tendency to fall off easily so a bit of sanding would be needed to make it reliable (or a tight wig/moleskin) -- but it looked better than the other swap.
      blah...

Here's a photo to the RP faceplate on the pukipuki body:

The fp doesn't look too bad for scale, I think:

The reverse (pukipuki fp on RP body) can be seen on my flickr... http://www.flickr.com/photos/13756623@N06/8501432294/in/photostream/

    29. is it possible to switch the whole head instead of just the faceplate? or would the neck not fit then?

    30. Thank you so much for the pictures! The RP faceplate on the puki body does look good to me. I would not mind doing a little modding if need be. I put a lati white basic on a puki body and I had to sand out the neck hole to do that.

I am only getting the faceplate but I would like to know this also if anyone has tried it.

    31. MarshMellina Nothing sweeter than sleeping or pretending to sleep fairies.

Onetwobead What a fun tea party they are having. They can come over and we will look at flowers together. That little tongue is just right for eating sweets

namaro Half right counts on flower guessing

lindasews Thanks so much. Glad you enjoy the pictures.

      Best to all,Brook

    32. I do my yarn shopping for the realpukis at the needlework store. I use pearl cotton #8, comes in little spools, lots of colors available. It it not wound at tightly as crochet cotton, so you get a nice drape. I also use wool, that they sell on little cards. It is used for cross stitch, and crewel. I use a very small steel hook for crocheting, and for knitting I use 0000 needles.

Patterns I have had a hard time finding, so I make a paper pattern and then knit or crochet to match what I have drawn on the paper, seems to work.

      MarshMellina,
I do love this idea for putting them away to sleep, it this a canvas drawer?

Beautiful photo onetwobead, I love all the rich color. These two are perfect for eating pictures, funny how Ara still looks like he is talking, now with his mouth full.

    33. Gah! I didn't think to try this and they are put away for the day. I'll try to remember to do this next time...

    34. I switched the whole head with the puki body that works perfect
here is my pupu with the puki body
      [IMG]

    35. She is absolutely adorable!

    36. wilkies, I have seen her and loved her so many times on Flickr, and I never even realized she was on a puki body. She is so adorable, and perfect. Did you have to do any modding to the neck to get that head on the puki body?

    37. I'm here for my morning dose of cuteness and here it is! She's precious wilkies! Nice sofa too.

    38. wilkies Looks good. I never thought to do that
      Brook

    39. Wow, just love the little RP head on the PukiPuki body, what an amazing idea! :)

    40. My little field cricket was in a helpful mood last night & was sweet enough to try on a dress I'm crocheting to help raise funds to bring his buddy SoSo home. My little man willingly donned the dress-in-progress (anything for his bug hunting buddy!) I was checking to see if I was ready for my hem yet & to visualize the placement of embellishments. Of course he just had to be a bit cheeky! I thought I'd share...

    41. CoffeyHouse Your little cricket looks very nice. I think the RP can be girls or boy and wig or not wigs. Their personality shines either way.
      Brook

    42. LOL! CoffeyHouse! I thnk he's earned the right to be a bit cheeky after posing in a dress fro you  Shhh, don't embarrass him, but I think he looks awfully sweet.

    43. Wilkies: what a beautiful Pupu on a puki body. The different proportions create an entirely new doll. I love her headband.
CoffeyHouse: i have enjoyed all of Cricket's adventures, even if they involve a dress.
Deedee71: enjoyed your wallpapering buddy from previous thread and Pinky in pink (which is my favorite color).
Sisen: your trio delight me. Twyll makes a great girl. Hope Gwylly forgave the rabbit in the previous thread. Like many others, was glad for the chance to see the individual rooms of their wonderful treehouse.
Summer_Elf: each of your Real Puki portraits in previous thread is very beautiful. Your photos really capture their lovely qualities.

...all...although it is probably impossible for me to catch up to page 50 from the previous thread (on a cell phone), please understand that i have enjoyed each and every post immensely and am trying to catch up a few at a time.

    44. We had some sun today and I found my little traveler exploring in the garden...

    45. Are those Spring flowers already Sisen? Mine were up about 6 inches & beginning buds, alas 5 inches of snow & ice on the 22nd :(
on a happier note ~ Looks like Kyte was going to climb up & see how much longer till they bloom!

    46. Hope it's okay to share this CoffeyHouse... The spring bulbs are blooming! We planted about 50 daffodil bulbs this year, what a joy to see!

    47. Yes, I crocheted it free hand and just made it up as I went with no real finished idea in my head when I started.

      CoffeyHouse
, I find something ominous about a dragon named "Hopper". Eek! Sounds like it could sneak up on you and breathe fire down your neck. Your guy doesn't seem too worried though. Must be a great tamer of dragons?

My problem with the sleeping faces is that I always see them as totally separate characters --- and then have to acquire a second body for them!

Aww, thanks CarolD. Becky is a very cheerful little thing. I don't think I've ever seen her frown. ;)

I luv Lu with her little freckles, desertmountainbear. Is she posing there on metal? Her balance seems impeccable.

I haven't seem Aygul around for quite some time, richila. Oh wait --- come to think of it I haven't been around much lately myself, so you may have been visiting while I was out?

They really do! It was a first for them. First page, yes, but also first time at being first in a thread.

Well I'm a few days late, but I recognized those pretty flowers as hyacinths right away. Beautiful job.

The patterns I've published are all for knits though, deedee.

Princessr, I don't know if this vague accounting will be at all helpful, but it's pretty easy to "wing it" with a crocheted bodice to which you can add crocheted or purchased lace, or gathered fabric for the skirt portion. To make a little sleeveless bodice from the bottom up you can just crochet a rectangle that is wide enough to go around the doll's chest with enough overlap in the back for snaps. Make the rectangle tall enough to reach the doll's armpits. Then on the next row skip the space under each arm and instead crochet a length of chain stitches that will reach over the shoulder to the front. Continue crocheting along the main piece until you get to the next underarm and do the same. This will leave delicate little straps, or you can add a few more rows to the entire bodice, which will create thicker straps at the same time. Easier shown than said, I'm sure, but I hope you get the idea?

Here's a picture of Ms Muffet wearing a dress with a bodice something like I have described. This one is also worked from the bottom up, but I started by crocheting along a piece of stretchy, sequined lace. Both the doll and the dress have since moved on to other owners.

Ms Muffet by wovenflame, on Flickr

MarshMellina, saying a quick hi to SoSnow before I head off to bed myself. I've been so sick with the flu lately that it has really worn me out.

Oh that's exciting to hear! Ban Sidhe does a fabulous job on these teeny, tiny faceplates. I have two Littlefees visiting her right now myself. One needs an eye opening though and the weather there has not been conducive for such things, which she must do outside.

I really must apologize to those later in the thread that I haven't gotten to replying to. Love your pictures, just running out of time for the internet tonight.

    48. Oh the lovely spring flowers and the lovlies in their spring dresses! Can't wait to see what you have created for your group, Brook.
Fayette2009: another masterpiece. Can testify that the silk flower embroidery on a RP outfit is irresistable!
Wovenflame: Becky's pink dress is a confection.
Desertmountainbear: Fern's outfit is perfection! It's one of my favorites.
Sisen: Kyte looks like a special flower herself, among the leaves.
All: hoping to tell you how much i appreciate you!

    49. Long time no see Realpuki thread!

I was wondering if I could get some Pupu, Popo, and Sira spam? Also, does anyone own the resin shoes? I'd love to see them painted!

edit: I feel weird coming in empty handed so here is some super old spam of my (now sold) Soso:

    50. Wovenflame ~ What a great tutorial! Could that be used to make a tutu with fine tulle?

Sisen ~ THANK YOU!!! What a sweet taste of Spring :) Now if the ice killed my blooms this year (I'm 99% sure it did) I can come back & enjoy yours!

Desertmountainbear ~ I keep going back to page one to see your Happy Dance. It makes me smile every time!

      Onetwobead ~
Thank you for being so sweet! I appreciate you too and all of my new friends who made me feel so welcome here at DOA. What a great extended family to have :)

Smoteymote ~ Love the face up on that little one!

Here is my PoPo, Gryllinae, who has had quite enough of this dress making! He misses his buddy still at Fairyland though & wants to hurry the adoption process along. He is becoming quite impatient with me & the fittings & believes the buttercup hat is way too much. (Thought if he slipped on a wig, nobody here would recognize him!) I promised him there were only bloomers left to go. He stamped his tiny foot & insisted he will not wear girls underpants! ;) We will see....

    51. Hello .. :)

sorry for just popping in ..
but I do have a question.

I bought my SoSo in January and he is such a sweet little boy.

I have now seen that there are golden "plates" for them as stands -
where could I buy those ?
Do they normally come with these stands ?

I bought him in a online shop in Germany,
and the owner of that shop has a REAL bad reputation so I
was wondering ... she never got back to me when I asked for the stand,
so I was wondering if anyone of you could let me know .. :)

Thanks a lot in advance :)

Oh .. and here is my little SoSo with his handmade outfit & flower hat .. :)
I love him to bits :)

    52. Hi Lucy...., I believe the magnetic "gold" plates only came with the full sets. I got my kids as basic packages and they did not come with the plate. You Soso looks very dapper in his garden outfit!

CoffeyHouse you better be careful, you can only push a RealPuki so far... although Gryllinae is still smiling... but what about?

    53. oooh ... now that makes sense :)
      Thank you very much !
I couldn't find any information about this, but this sounds convincing :)

      Yeah - doesn't he ?
He is such a good boy :)

    54. Thanks Deedee71

CoffeyHouse thanks for the tip. I got cotton and I'm trying it out - gulp.
Oh my! That outfit is GREAT! I'm so impressed. It's gorgeous, the yellow really brings it all together.
The hat is so cute :aheartbea

desertmountainbear Oh yeah! Thanks for the info. I'll definitely try the paper pattern trick. Neat!

WovenFlame - oh,no! Not the dreaded knitting - lol: I'm rubbish at knitting.
Thanks a bunch for the crochet tips. Your dress is great! I'll definitely have to give it a go.

Sisen I love your little time traveller so much. She's so great. Fab picture. Did she find anything good exploring the garden ?

    55. CoffeeHouse, Cricket is being a good sport. He looks darling in these cute dresses. You have done a beautiful job with them.

sisen, The garden pictures are beautiful, and little Roro (is it whatshername?) looks perfectly at home. It has been cold here in AZ. I hope that nice warm looking weather that you are having moves this way soon.

      Wovenflame,
thank you for the crochet tips. I often start at the top, I think I like the idea of starting at the bottom and working up. So nice to see Ms Muffet again.

lucyintheskywithdemons. Little Soso is darling. I love the outfit and hat, especially the hat, I do picture them wearing flowers and acorn tops for hats out in the woods. I think that now even with the full sets there are no move metal plates. There has not been for some time.

SmoteyMote, so nice to see you here with your adorable little Soso, even if she is gone now. I have admired your dolls in the other threads. Are you thinking about purchasing another realpuki?

Namaro, thank you for your comment on Lu. She has a fairyland face up that I added too, and subtracted from. I just removed the strawberry jelly from her mouth, and added some more eyebrow to what already there. Oh yes, and I added a few freckles too.

    58. lucyinskywithdemons, i dont think fullset realpukis come with the brass stand either? i am sure fairyland discontinued doing them? i am buying a pong that comes with the brass plate, but the doll is older, so came with it.

sisen, i love your little one in the flowers, very adventurous that one :)

desertmountainbear, i adore the faceups, wigs and clothing your little ones have, absolutely adoreable :) they have an antique look quality to them, very nice and i wish i could get that look for my lot :)

brook, i hope the sun comes out and then you can get your camera out, i love the pictures you do with dolls of different sizes going about their business, so cute, and i like the clothes you make for them.
