Just wanted to post this again in the new thread. Anyone with an MOE body find that the ankle hooks snap when they try to restring?

I'm hybriding a different head on an MOE body and one of the teeny ankle hooks snapped while trying to de-string. I've ordered more from DDE but I was curious to see if anyone else had this happen?

 

[MENTION=39205]Kitkaze[/MENTION], I haven't restrung my Moe girl yet, but I'll keep an eye out for the problem when I do start work on her. If nothing else, it's a good warning, if an unfortunate circumstance.

Reposting my question below from the end of the last thread! ....

Super annoying issue I'm having with all three of my Minifees...their head posing is the pits! All three can mostly either look down or look up at the sky. It's hard to even get them to look straight ahead most of the time. It's like I do one motion too much, and their heads pop into the "look up at the sky!" position. Argh! Any tips? My girls would be so appreciative.

 

To fix that, what I do is put a little bit of hot glue under the neck piece, might have to replace it every now and then but I found that it works for a while, not sure how everyone else remedies that

 

You can also put a bit of eye putty at the back of the key so it seats the head better on the connector. I have done that with all my girls and it's the best!

 

Hey all! I've got a quick question here - has anyone tried modding a tan skin MNF to have elf ears? I'd love to have a tan Risse elf one day, but I've never seen any dolls with tan or colorful resin modified before and I'm curious as to how it might work out.

update: It worked! Actually my Mirwen got some major chiropractic care tonight. She was strung so tight that there was no way I could lift the neck piece up to put hot glue under it. So I restrung her. She got nine extra inches of string. And since I had to take her apart I gave her a full sueding, including the neck piece. She poses so much better and her head movement is perfect now. YAY!! Thanks again for the suggestions!

 

I have a question.

I want to get some heel feet for the m line Chloe I ordered last month through DDE.
Do I get the ones with hooks or magnets?

Same with extra hands--hooks or magnets?

Magnets for both. The M-Line come with the magnetic ankles already (A-line do not), and the magnet hands come on both A-line and M-line.

 

She is stunning! And super unique! She gives me the Adams family vibes like she might we Wednesday's cousin. Love it!

You can also buy the magnetic ankle pieces for the A-line bodies (DDE carries them). That's what I do with mine, because I love how convenient it is to switch the mag feet!

 

I'm sure you could probably do it, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to match colours. I'd actually love to have the same - I adore Risse, but the only other MNF character I have planned is supposed to be an elf. I don't think it would be too hard to add points to her ears - they are very nearly elf shaped already, I think.

 

Aw man I was hoping my Siean would have made it home before the new thread, so I could contribute to first page spam. Guess it'll have to wait! Loving all the spam though, keep it coming can I request pictures of Siean while I wait for mine?

Thank you all for posting pictures of your dolls. Im having a hard time with waiting (I'm going to order a celine at the next event with TS as option.

 

Total resin newbie here; apologies if this question has already been asked a million times. Like Photojoda, I'm planning on getting a tan girl at the next event with that as an option (a Chloe). I'm aware that marbling and raised seams can be a problem with tan resin, but I've only just seen the bit on Fairyland's website saying "Tanned skin resin undergoes faster color change than other skin tones and it may occur within short time frame." Does anyone have spam of tan MNFs that have already changed colour, so I can get some idea of what the eventual result looks like? Thanks!

Squeeee!! I just acquired one of my grail dolls on Saturday!! A Chloe vampire elf!!! Hopefully I can get one of angel toasts October spots today!! She's white though... I was hoping for a ns girl. Now I need to wait for the funds for a white body [emoji17]. My Karsh is on his way home too!!! So excited!!!

Asking for male MNF spam again. I think it got lost up there. The more ​mature looking the better.

 

My tan Rheia is almost 2 years old at this point and she's yellowed compared to her option hands that I've kept in an air tight bag in a box that I never open, but it's BARELY noticeable. Just some of the red has leached out so she's a bit less sunburned looking (which I prefer, tbh, she looks far less weird now). Fairyland probably just added that line to cover themselves against fussing people - or because other companies have had problems with tan resin doing weird things. I've always found FL to have fairly stable colours past the 2 year mark. My NS Shushu is from 2008 and yellowed a lot in the first couple years, but is still the same colour she was back then when I compare her to white paper now.

I got a used airbrush kit a couple weeks ago. I mostly bought it because the compressor was worth more than they were asking for the whole kit. The airbrush that I'll actually need to use on these girls is not the one that came with the kit, so I've ordered it from Japan. It'll be here in a few weeks, then I'll be giving 7 out of 9 of my girls new face-ups. Hopefully the fall rain and humidity in Vancouver holds out during that time.

Finally got around to taking not terrible cell-phone pictures, and took terrible DSLR photos instead. I'm still learning how to use a real camera so it's not the best quality, but I really love my Marcia, named Luce.
