Yay new thread!

So I bought a wig for my Goldie...and it's too small. It's an 8/9 wig, so I'm really confused. I was warned that it was a small wig, but damn. Maybe PW girls just have huge heads, idk.

 

O that sucks! What brand wig was it? I know 9/10 crobi fits perfectly on my Dandy Bella and the same size (and brand) fits tightly on my FOC Tristan. They all may have different head sizes

 

Ooh, yeah, I second the question! I'm getting three Goldie heads so this is gonna be pretty important for me.

It could be that the different companies make wig sizes ever so slightly differently, or that the sizes are different between specific styles even within the same company, or that as far as Peak's Woods each head sculpt is shaped/sized slightly differently OR a combination of any of those! I remember thinking when I first played with a Yeru that her head looked surprisingly big for her face!

 

I think your are right about that. I got size 9/10 from Crobidoll because I heard it Crobi sizes are smaller.
I think if I were to order from Leekeworld though, I would get the 8/9 size as 9/10 is more suited for Volks sized heads (anyone know this for sure though?)

 

velouriumxcamper - Boo, that's too bad.. Maybe another dolly can use it?

krystina - The FoC Tristan and Dandy Tristan both fit the 8/9 size Leekeworld wig.

 

I'm actually rooting for a big-headed Kass, as I have the perfect wig for him, but haven't been able to grab it in 8/9 yet. Lovely new thread!

I already have a few 8/9 wigs that fit my girls. I think this is just an errant wig or something. I bought it off a group on facebook, and I have no idea what brand it is. It's gorgeous, though.

I like the Lolita body a lot more than I thought I would. Now I want to get another one for that vampire Goldie head I had planned to hybrid.

My TTYA bibs have arrived for Rose. Today I finally got around to taking a few pictures. I've been lazy lately and doing other things. The quality on her items is impressive. Even the little slide clips on the straps have TTYA stamped into the metal. So professional and worth the extra $$$. The T shirt isn't showing but just click on the Flicker link and go to the Rogita album for other shots. So very pleased with the quality.

What DollHearts clothing size would best fit an A.B. body with a normal bust? SD16, SD 13 or SD10/13?

Looking back through the last thread, it looks like DollHeart SD13/SD10 clothes are a good fit for the Lolita body, but some things may be just slightly roomy in the waist. It seems like SD13 fit a bit better in the waist and have a good length for the A.B. body. Starting from this link is a string of posts from dollhausen showing several DollHeart outfits on her A.B. girl who has the type B body with normal bust.

 

My 2 cents here on DollHearts clothing. I have the Lolita body on both my dolls and found that the SD13 (DH) was a great fit. I also ordered an SD10 (DH) outfit thinking it was a little smaller--wrong. It's wider in the waist and a little shorter. Still works ok but I prefer the SD13. The bib overalls I ordered from TTYA were also a SD13 size. They are a little long but fine as the foot opening was generous. I did not want to have to remove a foot to dress her. I wish DH had more clothing available but nothing new has been offered. The quality if excellent.

When I first ordered my larger BJDs I went nuts trying to figure out sizes without a doll body. I ordered many shoes, wigs and outfits before my dolls arrived. Some of the shoes were HUGE and useless. Sometimes they list the sizing incorrect and it's a loss there too. But now I have a much better handle on what fits and what doesn't. I think everyone goes thru those same frustrations. I wanted to buy in advance but it's not that simple from a photo on the internet. I find patterns are the same way, some are waaay to large, others skimpy. It's a gamble. Alington is very knowledgeable on these things. She helped me with the DH high heels which fit perfectly. They were for an SD16 foot. All DH shoes in that size are great.

 

YAY! I can finally participate - my Goldie is here - as you can see - she is a bit of a glam lady. I also have the wakeup head, and they'll be going away for a face up in 2 weeks so sorry for the bare look photo *bounce*

I'm ordering eyes for her shortly too - but the website says 16-18 - any idea what works best?

I recommend 16mm for open eyed PWs and 14mm for wake up PWs but the sizes are still different from time to time depending on company

@velouriumxcamper and @krystina - that's the plan! I've always wanted a MM inspired doll, and think Goldie will be perfect! I can't wait to get her face up done!

I think I will try this new identity on her- I heard Siberia means "sleeping land". To me, she looks like she's waking (but still a bit sleepy-eyed) from a dream, especially in the second pic

 

I love the second pic she looks very character-inspiring in it. Also, the sort of sepia tone to the pic really lends to the look. She looks kind of other-worldly. like a lost little fae

*__* I just bought a suntan elf tristan off the MP and I don't know the first thing about SD girl clothes HAHA. I've only had boy dolls in SD size before this. somehow???

I figure pw will re-release tristan again at some point but I'm just too impatient to sit around and wait for that when I can own her right now? hahaha. plus pw's tan skin is such a gorgeous colour. now I just have to figure out what the heck I'm doing with clothing. I got her 16mm eyes since my dandy bella looks perfect in the 16mm, so I figured that's a safe bet?

I like dolls, and I like trains...when hobbies collide! Found out that N scale trains are a pretty good proportion for SD girls.

 

Thanks so much krystina! She was a special version sold by Peaks Woods called Red Shadow (red blush on cheeks and mouth + black eyeliner). I was lucky enough to find Leekeworld doing an event for a "Real Red" wig color very close to the promo pictures of Red Shadow wake-up Lottie. I see her as an Elemental Girl! My screen name reflects an interest in the activity with stars and space!

Eeeee my tristan is home, she's so stunning. I'm always so taken with pw's sculpts. I don't understand how these dolls can always be so much more impressive in person than they are online! I'll take some pictures once her wig comes in... she's a baldy right now, I have nothing to suits her haha

 

Long time since I've been online--so long, in fact, that I totally forgot about a lay-away order that shipped last week and came this weekend. (Maybe that means I have too many dolls? I need to do more photos of my PW crew as well.. it's just so hard to find the right time for good lighting and enough privacy to do a photo shoot. I really love the outdoor light, maybe I need to invest in a light box for indoor photos, or make one with a cardboard box as I've seen on the forums sometimes.
