Video games: What're You Playing?

Aug 9, 2018

    1. Dragon Age. It took over my life.
I've played many games, but Batman: Arkham series, Bioshock (1 & 2), Borderlands, Skyrim, The Wolf Among Us, Mass Effect and new Tomb Raider series have a special place in my heart and on my desktop :XD:

    2. I switch from playing Dragon Age (the entire series), Dead by Daylight, Ultima Online, FF14, Stardew Valley, Don't Starve, Sims 4...

Basically I play switch around with games I have but FF14 and Dead by Daylight tends to be installed the longest cause I got friends to play with.

    3. Did any anyone here play Wildstar? Sadly, the game closed down on Thursday this week after 4 years - but what an amazing ride! Super game and community - so much creativity and fun! I think I will be perhaps be be heading back to the game worlds in FFXI or WOW - but Nexus will always have a special place in my heart.<3 and Best Wishes to everyone that help create Wildstar or played the game:)

    4. I'm always playing Final Fantasy XIV and I'm really looking forward to the Final Fantasy XV update later this month (Miqo’te Noctis!). I was a bit late to the party, but I recently grabbed Monster Hunter: World for a great price on Black Friday so I've been playing that a lot!

    5. I’m always playing Sims 4 on and off, but I’ve recently branched out to Splatoon 2, Mario Cart, and Lets Go: Eevee upon getting my switch!

Also even though I know it won’t be out till 2021 I’m still pretty hyped for the possibility of Dragon Age 4!!

    6. At the moment I am playing Dragon Age Origins (but Inquisition was my first DA game) I also like Oblivion, Skyrim, the Borderlands series and Fallout 3, 4 and New Vegas.

    7. Oh, bummer! I used to play that when it first launched, then got too busy for MMOs when I returned to school. I always meant to reinstall it after it went free-to-play, but I guess I waited too long. The community was so nice overall, and it had the best RP server I'd been on since my Lord of the Rings Online and City of Heroes days. And, at least while it was subscription based, the devs threw new content at you every time you turned around, it felt like. What a shame. Fare thee well, everyone's characters... ;_;

    8. I'm currently almost finished with a playthrough of Fallout 4!! It's been my first fallout game and it was so much fun, made me fall for the game and it's universe! After that I'm not actually sure, think I'm getting some games for Christmas so?? We'll see haha. I have a bad habit of not finishing games though so I'm sure I can find something to play in my collection :whee: my favourite overall are the Mass Effect series, Overwatch, Mirrors Edge series, Portal series, Rocket League and Animal Crossing!!

    9. I am finally on holidays, so am back into my gaming.
PC: Guild Wars 2 - I've missed playing so much over the course of the year.
Nintendo Switch - Siberia 2 and Stardew Valley
Nintendo 3DS - Animal Crossing, Lost in Blue 1/2/3 (again)

    10. The Dragon Age series is my favourite and I've played all of the games at least 4 times. I think I'm on my sixth full playthrough of Inquisition, there were a few more that got bugged halfway in.

I'm currently attempting to play Bloodborne but I'm SO bad at it

I also like the Fire Emblem games a lot.

    11. My roommate and I are close to beating KH2, we're at the final boss. Honesty I like it a little more than I did when it first came out, it is not a good game though. It's like a movie with some small spots of game play. The game is actually fun when I am not in cutscene hell, and the band-aid scenes they put in the final mix help with some of continuity issues. We're playing on proud mode, I wish we had gone with critical though. Although most of it we spent playing the KH drinking game.

I picked up Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it was on sale. Again, fun combat meh story. I'm getting slight FF9 vibes: Bana = Queen Brahne, Pyra = Garnet, I'm in chap 2 and they're still throwing tutorial stuff at me though and it's really annoying.

    12. I used to play love Nikki a lot but it replaced with another mobile game, the letter.
Since I am more of a horror fan, it's more 'natural' to me.
On the Xbox I've been playing borderlands a lot. From the games you couldn't figure out I also have dolls.

    13. I'm still playing Love Nikki, but I'm losing interest. I feel like I've wasted a ton of money on it over the last couple of years. I have my own association, but I honestly don't want to bother running it and am considering just giving it away to my VP. I used to be in a very high ranking association and when I left it I was nowhere near as competitive or into it as I was when I was playing alongside them. There was a directive and clear leadership. I'm not a leader.

    14. I get what you mean. It isn't as much fun as it used to be.

    15. I was playing a lot of Warframe, but had to take a break in August for a number of reasons. I've been playing around with it here and there, but mostly I've been playing Fate/Grand Order on my tablet when I need to kill a bit of time, or Pokemon GO when I'm out in the city or somewhere with a lot of Pokestops (my area's pretty quiet, and the same 20 or so people are always taking turns in the local gyms, lol).

I used to play Love Nikki, but I've kind of pulled away from it recently, because they've gotten even more cash-grabby than ever. It used to be okay to just throw a dollar or two at them now and then, or play for free, but now that's virtually impossible, so I've backed off. The ranking event was probably the last straw for me.

    16. I agree. I have been playing for over a year now and honestly don't want to think about the amount of money I've wasted on it. It's probably one of the reasons I kept playing so long, convincing myself it wasn't wasted, but honestly, I can't keep wasting $100+ on these events. I haven't played in about 3 days, and I'm not missing it at all. But I feel bad for those in my association.

    17. So many Dragon Age fans!

Im always in the middle of one DA game (on my 9th play through of Inquisition at the moment) and playing the latest Pokemon game (currently having a blast in Lets Go).

No other games at the moment, but thinking about picking up Red Ded Redemption 2.

    18. On console, I'm replaying Rune Factory Frontier on the Wii and starting Civilization VI on the Switch. On PC, I'm playing the classic Dwarf Fortress.

    19. Currently I am playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I'm still a little bit more in love with Origins because well I'm obsessed with Egyptian stuff but I have the best sister who got me this and ergh so in love with this game!

    20. Destiny Child on mobile :XD:

    21. I recently finished my second full playthrough of The Witcher 3, including DLCs. I'm also playing Mass Effect 2 for the fourth time (as part of my third full trilogy playthrough).

I tried Frostpunk, but didn't get very far. :sweat

    22. I'm currently playing "Alchemia Story" its a free MMORPG for Android with a really nice character customization system, anyone else its playing it?

    23. I've been working on Zelda:botw for a long time, it's so much fun just exploring and gathering things I just get lost on it and forget that there's a actually a storyline to it... oops. And we got my daughter (she's 11) the pokemon let's go eevee edition for Christmas. I wasn't so sure about the pokeball controller, but that game is awesome! We'd already been talking about getting the Pikachu version for us, but now we want the pokeball too. XD especially if you can catch pokemon in pokemon go and then add them to your let's go game! That's so awesome!

    24. I saw the little teaser art for the next Dragon Age and now I'm playing through Inquisition again.

    25. I am obsessed with playing "7 Days to Die." I'd love to rent a private server to play some multiplayer. but I have no friends to play with. :atremblin

    26. I always play quite a lot of games...recently I'm really taken with GRIS, a wonderful and very artistic game by Nomada Studio. I would totally make a BJD out of the main character. I'm also playing Crash Bandicoot (because nostalgia ftw) , Pokemon Let's Go Eevee and Destiny 2 xD

      So much gaming...and it's never enough <3

    27. Spider-man on PS4. I'm completely addicted! I love everything about it <3

    28. Both great games, @Zardi! I wasn't expecting to like The Witcher 3 as much as I did, but man did I fall off the deep end with that one.

As for me, a friend of mine got me completely hooked on this mobile game called - wait for it...Destiny Child. The title is silly, but it's a nice RPG with a decent story and some multiplayer features, as well. I'm wondering how long I'll stay interested in the game, because it does seem to have some potential for future growth.

I've been trying to get back into PC gaming over the holidays and have made some progress in Nier:Automata and Destiny 2. Both are pretty enjoyable, but I'm not sure I'll have the time or patience for them now that my schedule is going back to normal. We shall see!

    29. I've been on a huge sims kick lately... mostly biding my time for that sweet, sweet release of Vesperia's definitive edition. Got that sucker pre-ordered and I am hecking ready.

    30. Don't know how well VNs qualify as games, but I've been going through the first part of World End Economica and enjoying it quite a bit. It gets bogged down in the protagonist info-dumping and it has some of the usual VN cringe when it comes to how the female characters are treated, but better than average in that respect, and the art and music are pretty. Certainly the best young adult romance about investing in the stock market (while living on a moon colony, because Anime) that I've read.

    31. Can I just say this cracked me up more than it should have, though thanks to medicine head it also makes me wonder how many other young adult romances about investing in the stock market while living on a moon colony exist that this beat out to become the best.

I myself haven't done much gaming lately. My sis got Kingdom Two Crowns for the switch a week or so ago so I've played a bit of it, and just recently received my hard copies for all of the Myst games so I'm sure I'll start those up again before long.

    32. Ahhhh!!!!!!!! I hadn't seen it until I saw your post!!! Ahhhhh.. Oh man.. I am pumped. I loved DAI:D

    33. That looks awesome and beautifully done. It kind of reminds me of Journey

    34. I’ve been playing Jurassic World Evolution. My mum bought it for me for Christmas, as I’m basically an 8 year old who still wants a pet dinosaur.

      • x 1
    35. Guild Wars II. MMO. Lots of fighting, crafting and exploring with hundreds of my closest friends around the world! Been my go-to for four years now.

    36. I’ve been revisiting several old Otome games because I am THAT person :chibi

I seriously cannot get over how well done the story is for Collar x Malice.

The heroin isn’t completely helpless and when she is she understands her own limitations and not in some self absorbed pouty way. If anyone else plays these games, have you realized you completely have a type?

    37. True that! It's a really similar experience to Journey as it is very emotionally engaging and which I think any player should have. Games like Gris and Journey or Never Alone make me glad I'm a gamer.

    38. I bought the SNES mini for my husband for Christmas and we've been enjoying it so much that I also recently bought the Playstation mini I modded both of them and added loads of extra games.

Lately we have played through Fire Emblem 4 on SNES and Castlevania Symphony of the Night on PS.

I'm also anxiously awaiting Animal Crossing for Switch and have been playing the mobile game Pocket Camp in the meantime.

    39. Hey, another Gw2 player! I've been playing for over three years now and always come back to it.
Other games I played recently: Zelda botw and Kingdom Hearts 3 (almost got spoilered by the internet for the last one)

    40. I've tried others, but nothing grabs me the same way. My biggest problem is they keep giving new material and I'm limited right now in play time! Getting behind...

    41. The good thing is: as long as you log in from time to time you can play the new story updates for free whenever you feel like it. I like this system- okay new players need to buy it at a later time if they want to play it, but I can see why a company would choose this approach. And if you keep playing you get lots of content for free if you ask me. (Okay, if you buy the add on, but therefor we don't have monthly supscribtion stuff or pay 2 win). But yeah, it can be easy to get behind.

I also tried some others, but also nothing else stuck. Might be because of my lovely guild though XD

    42. Totally agree. I have a great guild, too. And ANet always give good deals on old material for new players. I just wish I could clone myself. I started with one account. Got a second for $5 when HoT came out...filled it with mesmers and parked them at key points to help bampff non-jumping friends to key vistas/mastery points, etc. Great, GREAT game.

    43. At the moment I've been playing 7 Days to Die, My Time at Portia, Subnautica. I'm loving 7 Days to Die!

      • x 1
    44. Currently just playing a bit of Ragnarok Mobile: Eternal Love (Global) on my cellphone.

    45. Subnautica! Red dead redemption/ revolver/1/2 :D crash bandicoot, spyro, Naruto, DBZ , kingdom hearts! you name it! I'm probably playing it!

    46. Diablo III, mostly because my computer hasn't been set up to play Path of Exile since I moved. I also play every Sims game under the sun haha. I don't have a very wide video game education but when I do play I tend to go deep (which makes Path of Exile very rewarding). I also play wayyy too much Sims Mobile and Merge Dragons on my tablet although I'm not sure if those "count." If Path of Exile is, like, SOOM, Merge Dragons would probably be Monster High.
And The Sims is my Volks.
Anybody else make a Sim of their characters before they shell them in a doll?

    47. I definitely make my characters in Sims! It's weird, Sims 4 can't hold my attention like the older ones as far as gameplay (the AI just doesn't seem as good this time around), but I can spend hours just in Create A Sim, especially with all the great CC people make. Definitely their best character creator yet. The only problem is getting a character looking just perfect and then trying to find a sculpt that matches closely enough, lol.

I've been trying to catch up on VNs and adventure games lately. Right now I'm almost done with what I hope is the perfect ending to Goetia. It's ~aesthetic~ as heck and I'm liking the story and Abigail a lot. I'm kind of over Victorian settings for now, so seeing Edwardian-through-WWII England instead was oddly refreshing. Some of the logic puzzles are way too obscure, and the engine can be fiddly about recognizing when you have pieces in the right place for mechanical puzzles, which was annoying. Nothing a walkthrough can't fix though.

    48. Just finished playing Kingdom Hearts III, was not ready for the emotional roller coaster, haha. I'm also replaying TWEWY on the Switch, since I was such a huge fan of the game back when it was out for the DS. And, uh, quick bursts of dancing games, such as Persona 5 Dancing Star Night, on the side.

Planning on starting Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild later this week!

    49. I'm playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey! I'm having a blast. But whenever I take a bit of a break in another game, I keep trying to climb everything....

      • x 1
    50. I’m playing Odyssey, too. I love it. You’re so right about the button mapping.

I’m also replaying Persona 4 on the PSVita. It’s supposed to have some new content compared to the console game, but so far I’m not noticing anything. (I’m only a few game weeks in though).

KH3 was so much fun! I’m glad they wrapped up the old storyline. It was so convoluted, especially with the hand held games thrown in. I hope I live long enough to see the next one XD I wonder if they’ll actually make a real Verum Rex game?

    51. I am playing all kinds of games but I have some I tend to always come back to:

Conan Exiles (for building houses and chilling on my own)
Diablo III (for having really crazy evenings with my friends)
Dead by Daylight (whenever I am bored I find myself in it XD)
The Secret World Legends (because it is my all time favorite MMORGP, although I am on a pause right now)

    52. I am a huge fan of the Harvest Moon Series and right bow I haven been playing it on the Switch ..or shall I say forcing myself to pkay it. I am pretty bummed on it. It seems a lot of the games I come across on the Switch either by checking the demos or watching videos on them are pretty one dimensional and just lack the depth of old school rpgs ( snes , psx 1&2 love)

I know Nintendo is reissuing a lot of their old games but I have played all those already.

So yeah haven not found a game I love .

I do play POCKET CAMP on my phone for those times I need a quick game whike I am waiting for someone.

    53. Have you tried Stardew Valley yet? You might enjoy it if you are a HM fan.

      • x 1
    54. It depends on my mood what I actually play, but since a few weeks I really like to play cattails on my switch. Somehow it seems a bit boring sometimes, but with the music and the easy gameplay it's really relaxing for me. I managed to marry in-game and now I'm waiting for cat babies.
When I'm outside I sometimes play Pokemon Go, especially when there are some events or community day.
Generally i prefer handhelds and playing on my smartphone.

    55. After over a decade, I found myself returning to the first mmo I ever played and the game that gave a bunch of the best gaming-memories I have:
      Guild Wars (the old one)
People are still there and it feels like from day to day there are even more returning players :D
It still feels like home to me^^

    56. I'm still slowly working my way through a backlog of adventure games and VNs. Right now I'm finishing up the Blackwell Legacy series in a bid to play through everything Wadjet Eye has published.

I also really want to try out Hypnospace Outlaw, but I'm trying to stick to my resolution to not buy any more games until I've played what I already have. Which will take me at least through the end of this year, lol.

    57. I'm now playing Devil May Cry 5. I adore it. It's so fun, cheesy and nostaglic. I've finished my first run, and I feel the need to try and shell V in doll form rising everytime I have to play him :P He'd be so fun to make.

    58. I just started playing Diablo 1, entirely out of nostalgia. It hasn't really aged the best. I'm sure I'll finish it though. Hopefully I won't need a new mouse by the end of it :)

And Fate/Grand Order on the mobile. Man they really know how to drag a game out. It's mostly grind. I want to see how the story finishes though.

    59. Bloodborne is my favourite!
I'm actually making a doll to be the Plain Doll...she's going to be shipped from her seller later this week :celebrate

    60. Wow really? I want to see her! :love
