I imagine that there's a fair amount of overlap between people who collect BJDs and people who play video games (heck it was BJDs styled as video game characters that got me interested in dolls in the first place). I'm currently getting ready to do what I've called "The Great Kingdom Hearts Re:Play 2k18: 16th Anniversary FINAL reMIX" (because the naming conventions for my KH runs have to be just as ridiculously wordy as the games themselves), in honor of Kingdom Hearts III's release in January. I also recently finished several runs of Detroit: Become Human, and the Yakuza series. So sound off! What's everyone playing nowadays?
Pokemon GO. ... So.. much.. pokemon GO. So much so i need to stop playing so much pokemon go, because my console games suffer because of it! LOL But I really want to play my new Harvest moon game, as well as one of the RPGs I have sitting, collecting dust on my shelves currently. Perhaps one of the Tales games.
Oh! Yakuza mentioned! High five! I have a big pile of games I haven't even started yet, but I'm currently playing Yakuza 6, Fragile Dreams (Wii), Calling (Wii), Here They Lie and Agony. I used to have a "one game at a time"-policy, but here we are... 8'D
Since about one month I've been playing Earthbound by Nintendo since I have always read so much praise about it, and I have to say - it's really good!
I started a KH replay and got almost to the end of the first one and then ran out of steam! I've been redecorating my room for winter and I'm going to bring my ps4 in there so I can play from bed :3 Otherwise mostly just Overwatch!
At the moment nothing. I just a couple of days ago finished Banner Saga 3, actually I replayed first 2 parts to get the full effect of the complete story. Before that was YS:VIII. I enjoyed both, but not sure what i'm going to go for next.
Love Nikki Dress Up Queen (mobile game) has pretty much taken over my life. On the console I'm currently playing Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom.
Most recently I've been playing Octopath Traveler. It's really cute, I'm invested in the stories but jrpg grinding is... a lot for me. This game isn't even bad on that front! I just have the attention span of a goldfish, lol. I also love all the Harvest Moon, Story of Season, and Rune Factory games, as well as Stardew Valley of course. Also Fallout 4, Skyrim, and Dragon Age. ... lol, okay I really like games. OH, and I can't forget Mario and Zelda!
Love Nikki on mobile but way less than I used to. World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth is coming out soon!
I'm playing Bio Menace, which is a very old Apogee platformer. Still runs great, I think this one has aged quite well. Steam just had a sale on for Commander Keen, so I'll be playing through that next
Love Nikki on mobile but Assassin's Creed Origins and the Witcher 3 on PS4, Castlevania Mirror of Fate on 3DS, and Castlevania Symphony of the Night on PS3.
I have a huge back log of video games but I decided somewhere along the way to start replaying Silent Hill, so I am now on SH2. I guess I was just missing the horror element in my life; I love survival-horror but the genre is not as popular as others. I also only play Japanese developed video games (for aesthetic reasons), with a very few exceptions, so that basically leaves very few survival-horror games to play at any given time. The newest "new" game release I played was Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, which I still play now and then in between my SH run.
Sound like everyone's got some good taste in games here. Lots of RPGs, which is rad! I've heard of Love Nikki before, but I honestly don't know anything about it, but everyone I've heard mention it says it's good. If we include mobile games, I guess I should also count The Arcana though. I don't usually play otome style games but the artwork for it is absolutely gorgeous. Heck yeah Yakuza high five! I swear Yakuza 0 in particular is some of the most pure ridiculous fun I've had in a video game in a long time. I've already got Kiwami 2 preordered when it comes out later this month. Lol I tried to do the "one game at a time" thing but failed too so I just decided to roll with it and play half my entire library at a time lol! Oh my god Commander Keen?! That was the first video game that got me into gaming when I was a wee small child. I actually just found out that someone ported Keen 1+4 to android phones so I downloaded that and started playing it the other day! The mobile app is called Commander Genius for some reason even though Keen shows up exactly as I remember back on MS DOS. Oh geez, sorry for the novel. ^^'
Ooh, Kingdom Hearts... I only played 1, Chain of Memories and 2. All the others were on odd handhelds I never owned (until these re-releases and pack-releases, now it just seems like a daunting task to catch up). Still very keen on playing KH3 the moment it's out! I've been playing FFXIV the most, Monster Hunter World a little and yesterday tried Detroit Become Human at a friends place. It's an amazing game and I want to play it through, probably multiple times because the characters, choices and stories are so intriguing!
Haven't been playing much lately. Started Game Dev Tycoon a couple days ago for some mindless fun, played a bit of Dragon Quest Builders on the Switch, and recently re-acquired the entire Myst series so I'll probably give that a go when I have enough time to turn off the rest of the world for a bit. I used to game all the time but lately all my energy has been eaten up by other things.
I've been replaying a bunch of Namco's older tales games chronologically (on Tales of Destiny II now, with a english menu patch) in light of Vesperia's upcoming re-release/remaster :] I've also been doing a pokemon wedlock in ultra sun, but that is more of a "away from home" entertainment. Other than that I play FFXIV on at least a weekly basis. I have way too many newer games on my backlog atm, and here I am playing a game from 2002 :P
YES. Yakuza 0 entertained me to the core, I loved every second of it. I can't remember the last time a game managed to do that to me. The cabaret minigame alone was so addicting, I played it way too much. Can't wait for Kiwami 2! I also bought Ishin, so I have a lot of Ryu Ga Gotoku stuff to do. Also, Commander Keen is on steam?? I remember playing it as a kid! I need it.
My brother recently got me to try FFXIV, so I've gotten around lvl 20 in that so far. It's been a few years since I played an MMO. Back when I burnt out on Guild Wars II I said I was done with them altogether, but this is fun to mess around in for a few hours on the weekend. I don't know yet if it's worth it to pay a sub every month, but I'll think about it. Right now, I'm playing through VA-11 Hall-A. It's pretty chill, and the music is good. I made a couple mistakes with the drink orders early in the game, so if I want to see the true endings for those characters I guess I'll have to do another playthrough sometime.
I'm currently trying to finish up Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE. I just have one more chapter of the main story and a couple of side missions to get through. And I just started playing Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology about a month ago. I find the time travelling aspect to be a bit tedious, but I'm still enjoying it for the most part. I've also been playing Mario Tennis Aces and ARMS when I can find time. It's cool to see so many people playing Love Nikki! I've been meaning to play that game for a while. I really should start it.
I have a huge backlog of 3ds games, so right now I'm trying to beat tales of the abyss, all the etrian odyssey games, and 7th dragon code vfd Edith and persona q Edit edit: beat Tales of the Abyss, Etrian 3 and 7th Dragon. Still working on persona Q. Planning to start Etrian untold millennium girl And just started stardew valley so hello time sink lol
I just broke out the old original x-box, you know the one that weighs like 20lbs and built like a tank? I'm playing star wars knights of the old republic 1 and 2. After that my plans are to get on the 360 and play the mass effect series for the 4th time.
I just finished the visual novel Nameless ~The one thing you must recall~ like ten minutes ago. I don't play a heaping ton of those kind of games, only having played Dream Daddy and Hustle Cats up to this point, but I couldn't resist a BJD themed one. There was some dubious consent things I wasn't thrilled about, but I overall liked it. Other than that, I always have at least one run through going of the Dragon Age games and have been slowly getting through Fallout 4 again. Oh, and I recently got Civ Rise and Fall. I have only played through two of the new leaders, but I have really enjoyed all the interesting changes they made.
I used to have a rule that I wouldn't play games simultaneously or start a new game before finishing games I had already started. Now though...I'm playing the Zero Escape series (just finished 999 yesterday), Tales of Zestiria, Etrian Odyssey V, Octopath Traveler, Monster Hunter World, & Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
I've been playing Final Fantasy FFXIV for two years. I have Persona 5 which I'm dying to play but I haven't started it yet.
Im just about done with Stardew Valley, its a very nice cool and relaxing game. I didnt think I would care about NPCs and their relationships and that things, but I became very interested and attached to them. I really like that it looks retro and that it looks childish but there are adult elements to it but still tasteful and realistic, like Shane and Pam's addiction. I like that there is nothing stressful about it. I played Uncharted in opposite order, the lost legacy and then thiefs end. I really loved LL, they fleshed out their characters and it was really fun to play, and I love their banter. I want a game focused on with the main character being Nadine Ross. Im going to play ther other 3 games in reverse order also lol, to keep up with tradition that makes no sense. I am debating to start God of War or the Witcher 3 or Last of us game since my friends all recommended it I put them off because Im spoiled with the create your own character that I was not interested in playing a set character, and also because i like playing female characters almost always
So many of these games are on my "loved it" or "want to play" lists. I just started a game of Graveyard Keeper on PC. It's like Stardew Valley but... you're a grave keeper? I'm not too far into the game yet but I love the art.
@Bowhead that sounds interesting! I have way too many games that I haven't even played yet but I may need to look that up.
I'm trying to finally finish KH DDD on my PS4. I'm playing with my boyfriend beside me so he can explain all the weird stuff going on. It's a lot easier for me on PS4 I think!
Lately I've been grabbing my Switch whenever I have a change to relax. Currently alternating Splatoon 2 with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Once I finish Xenoblade Chronicles 2 I might give Zelda: Breath of The Wild a go. But Pokémon Let's Go is first on the list.
I'm also excited for Pokemon Let's Go. Did you decide if you were getting the Pikachu or Eevee version?
@Bowhead I preordered the Eevee version because Umbreon is one of my favorite Pokémon. Dumb decision to be honest because my other favorites are only available on the Pikachu version (Growlithe, Sandshrew, ...) and I think it's weird that Eevee rides on your head. But I'm sticking to my decision, hahaha~ I played the original Yellow game so it'll be a nice change of pace to have Eevee instead of Pikachu.
@Siara I think most of the people I know are picking the Eevee version, so I'm probably going with Pikachu just so I know that we have access to the other version. I've been wondering what the trade system is going to be like...
@Bowhead I'm wondering the same. They said Wonder Trading wasn't going to be implemented which is a bit sad. I just hope you can trade with anyone online and not just with people on your friends list. Not to mention the fee we're going to have to start paying in September to access online features.
I haven't had much time lately to do anything outside of work, but for a while I was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's all right but I got bored after a while anyway. They gave it an open world cause everybody's doing that now...and I think it worked for Final Fantasy, but not for Dragon Age. You play through the opening, then you're turned loose to roam the entire world with no real direction. So I'm basically just visiting each new territory, clearing the whole map and all the side quests, then moving on to the next. The main plot is not progressing at all. You cannot interact with your party members in camps. The font is so small I can't read any of the letters and books I am collecting. During battle the camera zooms out so far I can't see where the rest of my party is. It just feels like a mediocre Elder Scrolls knockoff and not like Dragon Age at all. I've probably plugged 50 hours now and all this time I feel like I've just been running through the wilderness, looking at the back of my character's head and killing bears. (Seriously...it's all wilderness. There are no towns. And there are bears EVERYWHERE.)
I play many games! (Mostly just the ones I own/enjoy though...) ------- Nintendo ------- I used to collect everything Nintendo related, despite being grown in a family with a huge lack of money...(luckily we have long distance famalies who sends us stuff over the years lol) I did eventually get the NES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, GAME BOY and it's Color and SP buddies, DS/DSi/3DS, Wii, WiiU. That's it. Sadly most of these systems died out. The only systems I have left is: -Gamecube (With this thing that always say my card is corrpted...) -WiiU (Gamepad will not display images though...) -3DS (Card also doesn't work though even though my 3DS has only been with me for 2-3 years lol.......oh dear......) N64 (We only have 1 game....which is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's ● Mask~:3) My main games I play/played though: -Metroid Prime 1, 2, 3. (Hopefully the 4th one will come out soon, if ever...) -All the other Metroid games. (The only one I haven't played yet is Metroid Prime Pinball...I should of put that in the Prime section though...^^'') -Super Smash Bros series (I played and beat them all as well but now...to wait for Smash Bros Ultimate....) -Mario Kart (I played all except the Switch one...) ------- PS3 ------ Out of all PS systems out there, we only have a PS3 and was given a PSP with no charger. Lol! X'D The games I usually play though are: -Minecraft -Project Diva F -Tales Of (especially Graces) -Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 13. -Dead or Alive Ultimate(?) I want to play Tomb Raider again but...I deleted the account we used for the DLed game... ------- PC ------- I don't have my own computer yet but, when I have the chance, I play: -Elsword I use to play Pangya but, sadly, the PC version died......I still cry over this. :p lol jk...seriously though, it broke my heart when they stopped the game!! I also played a bit of Ragnorok...and some online site dress up games. Which lead me to 3D Animation! :3 That's about it of all the games I play these days! :3
Been playing Guild Wars 2 a lot lately, which is deeply ironic because at heart I'm a grouchy old single-player hermit who wants all these other kids to get off my dang lawn. Also been playing a lot of Pocket Camp on my phone at the bus stop. Give me the sporty essence already, I need to level this stupid stage up, c’mon.
I played Guild Wars for a while and still managed to play solo for the most part, but it wasn’t very fun. I just went on Hiatus from Final fantasy xiv because I get really addicted to that one, mostly for character customization. The people are mostly nice though, so working with others isn’t bad!
My boyfriend and I got a PS4 recently, and I'm completely in love with Persona 5. We cleared it together the first time, and I pretty much immediately turned around and started a new game with the clear data, lol. It's seriously pretty much my favorite game ever. I really wish Volks or someone would make dolls of the characters, though it's probably better for my wallet that they don't. Other than that, I mostly play Granblue Fantasy and Fate/Grand Order (NA version)... mostly the former at the moment, because FGO is just doing a rerun right now. They're both mobile gacha games.
I've been playing Bravely Default (again) and Kingdom Hearts (also again). I can't wait to play the sequel for KH this December!
Wow I loved gw2 so much but stopped playing because there were so few players! I now play overwatch and world of Warcraft but I have been straying away from video games lately. Been burnt out.
Not sure if it counts as a video game, but Dissidia Opera Omnia has pretty much consumed my life. It's got me interested in actually playing some of the mainline Final Fantasy games (my sis playing FF9 at the same time has something to do with it too, lol). A lot of them are now on Steam; I think I'd like to start with FF4.
I've been (re)playing various Resident Evil games in time for the RE2 Remake that'll be released in January!
Kingdom Hearts 3 drops in two months and some change so guess who's starting "The Great Kingdom Hearts rePLAY 2k18: 16 Year Anniversary Final reMIX Pre-3 Leadup Run". Me. It's me. I'm trying to time it so I'll finish with everything right before KH3 releases. Anyone else replaying the series in prep for KH3?
I'm experiencing full on nostalgia overload while playing Pokemon Let's Go, Pikachu. I've been saving up the version exclusives for trading; almost everyone I know purchased the Eevee version.
I've been dedicating an embarrassing amount of my free time to Assassin's Creed Odyssey. In some ways there's probably too much going on in it, but I'm loving it regardless.
I'm just now doing my first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins. The Mass Effect trilogy is my favourite RPG series to date, and I'm hoping Bioware won't disappoint with Dragon Age. Though I have to admit I've put about 14 hours into DA and still haven't really got that into it yet.
Darkest Dungeon. I'm in too deep with this game and now I'm working on a mod to throw my OC into the game.
I've played a handful of different things lately. With the 20th anniversary of Zelda 64, I fired up Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, chose Link, and chose the N64 Zelda arena. It's quicker and easier to get into than the actual Zelda 64 game. I didn't want to play too much because I don't want to burn myself out on Smash before the new game comes out next week. The rest of this is on my PC but mostly with Steam's big picture mode so it's very console-like. I've been playing F.E.A.R. Extraction Point. It's the only part of the series that I never played. There's a fantastic community controller profile for it that makes it very playable in big picture mode. I play Street Fighter V every week to do the challenges and everything. WWE 2K19 is the only game I got during the Steam fall sale. I like wrestling, and it's an okay game. I miss the N64 games, though. I used Retroarch to play the old Atari 2600 game Space Jockey. It was one of my favorite 2600 games when I was a little kid. I can't remember the last time I played it before playing it just recently. I also have been enjoying arcade games via MAME. The most recent game I played was actually Airwolf I also recently played the obscure 90s Mortal Kombat copycat Blood Warrior for a little bit. Another game I played lately was Radikal Bikers. It's an interesting late 90s game with an incredible art style. I'm not very good at it, but it is very fun.
Replaying the Kingdom Hearts games in preparation of the new one in December! I'm so excited, I almost cont believe the third one is finally coming out this year!
I'm doing my second full playthrough (third overall) of The Witcher 3 I also tried out Frostpunk, which I got on sale from Steam. Very interesting, though harder than I expected it to be.
