    1. There's a chance it might be a bit too small, at least going off my tape measure it seems like it will be smaller than the neck donut I have in my Type 1 El. If it's smaller than the neck donut, I don't know how well it will fit. But I think it wouldn't hurt to try. If it doesn't fit, you can sell it and get a neck donut instead.

    2. A Type 2 connector won't work "as intended" with a Type 1 head. The head hole is just completely the wrong shape to set it in.

You might be able to sit it over the round hole as if it was a doughnut type hook-holder, which would put the hook lower, in the neck rather than in the head... but I'm not sure how that would interfere with head mobility and stability. You'd also have to figure out something to hold the headcap on, since you won't have the upper loop of an s-hook to attach it to.

    3. I think I popped on to this thread at exactly the right time! I have suddenly found myself in possession of a Type 1 Yder Elf and I am having a bit of trouble finding a good neck doughnut for him. I do not have him on a Delf body, rather I have him as a hybrid on a Domuya D-O.N.E. Flexi body. The doughnut that I currently have is a bit too round and causes him to be a little lopsided. Is there a particular doughnut that works better for these dolls than others? He is such a pretty sculpt and I want to do right by him!

    4. Cool-Cat has you covered.
      They have two sizes.

      ☆ Cool Cat Collection Shop. Doll Accessories ☆ -- 【MSD/Hujoo】Small Neck Parts x 1pc (sk-coolcat.com)

      ☆ Cool Cat Collection Shop. Doll Accessories ☆ -- 【SD】Large Neck Parts x 1pc (sk-coolcat.com)

ETA: The one thing to be careful of... That smaller one MAY be smaller than the diameter of the head hole. Measuring that to make sure it won't slip through would be wise.

      • x 2
    5. Another thing to think about... Replace the s-hook entirely with something else.

One of my ElfDoll girls lost her metal bar, and I replaced it with a small carabiner. You just have to pick one wider than the diameter of the neck hole. A round key-chain loop might work, too. Either would sit vertically, so it would take up less space in the head.

      • x 1
    6. That is a good idea. I'll have to see what my local hardware store has in stock. The current issue I am facing is that without the doughnut, the head wants to sink down onto the neck. It looks a bit stumpy. My last resort plan was to take my Dremel to his current doughnut so that he wouldn't shift about so much.

    7. Hmm... Is the neck too narrow for the diameter of the head hole or does he just sit too low on the top of the neck?

If the head just sits a little too low, a bit of hot glue on the underside of the head where it sits on the neck would help to raise it.

      • x 2
    8. The neck is just a bit too narrow. It is not such a problem that the head sits directly on the shoulders, it just sits too low to look natural.

The hot glue is a really good idea. I could just make that opening the tiniest bit tighter. Plus, he would probably pose better as an added bonus!

    9. Yep! The glue may wear down after awhile and need to be replaced, but it has the advantage of being removable if you ever switch bods for him. Narrowing the hole a bit with epoxy would be a permanent mod.

      • x 1
    10. All that is left to do is dig out the hot glue gun!

I have always been interested in experimenting with epoxy and/or resin. I think it would be fun to make little knick-knacks or props! However, I am worried about the smells and chemicals. I have an asthmatic senior cat, and I am so worried about negatively impacting her health; I will be saving the potentially toxic projects for a later date.

    11. I ended up getting a neck donut from shapeways and hot glued it inside the head :)
Here's a quick pic of him since he's finally all put together!

    14. I love Shiwoo. One of my favorite sculpts ever! I really need to stop neglecting my poor Kairi and take new pics of him. Of all my CP group, actually. :whee:

Just hanging out while I wait for the gorgeous new wig I ordered to arrive. And somehow along the way he got underwear, more pants, socks.... He went 15ish years with only one outfit and now I might be going overboard.

Haven’t posted in a while but thought I’d share my Nanuri :3 Still thinking of a name for him…

    17. Welp, I guess I'm going to have to actually start posting here again. I had popped in a while back when I re-acquired my modded woosoo head that I had sold years back and then was able to re-buy him. Annnnd since then I've also acquired a Breakaway 05 which was a loooong time grail from way back in the day when I was primarily a delf collector and most recently I've been able to purchase a type 1 soony which was the last on my someday maybe hopefully grail list. I've decided 2024 will be the year I pay attention to my SDs haha - I've already started by buying them some clothes so they can share more than 3 pairs of pants, 1 pair of shoes and no shirts.

Happy Christmas Season from Feather! :treecookie:candycane

      @ZombChan oooh that's so exciting!! Congrats, I love Soony's!

@DessyChan he's lovely! Have you thought of any names?

I am officially ordering Snow's type 5 delf body in January! It's a bit of a later christmas gift, as I will have the full money then and also I would rather not get any extra heads in luts seasonal thingies, lol, but I'm sooooo excited! What a great way to celebrate her 12th birthday!

    19. Rolling back in with a photo I've been meaning to take since I got my 3rd big Shiwoo. Look at them just being so stinkin' cute. I love them so much. ♥♥♥

Left to right: Requiem (Cyber Bohemian), Mythos (Dreaming Vampire mod), and new still unnamed boy (normal to elf mod) ♥

I've been really enjoying my Delf's lately. Not just these boys, but also the Lishe I picked up recently and my vampy Luwen and Breakaway. A mega group shot is probably in order. xD (but that sounds like a lot of work..) Anyway, loving all the pics shared here!

      • x 10
    20. @Akai Okami Ahhhhh they look amazing. I would love to see a mega group shot if you can manage it (but I totally understand the pain of making it happen )

      • x 1
    21. I might try for it once my Lishe gets a faceup and her own wig...she's wearing my Breakaway's wig atm. xD So the group photo would look so odd. lol Her wig is in the mail though. Just need to paint her up. :)

    22. @Akai Okami My delfs are always stealing each other's wigs... and clothes... and accessories...

While I'm here, here is a pic of my breakaway:

I recently scribbled all over his beautiful professional quality faceup because I wanted him to have thin dark eyebrows and dark lips. And now I'm all smitten even though it looks a hot mess up close :sweat No regrets!! I also actually gave him a name? His name is Lorcan. I've owned him since 2020 but didn't really feel like he was right until now so I mostly just left him in a drawer (as beautiful as his faceup was before I attacked it, it just wasn't what I'd been envisioning)

    23. Just got a Dark Elf Soo after pining for her since I was 14, back before the old Delfs got discontinued! I'm so excited, running around finding a wig and planning what I might want her aesthetic to be. The nostalgic side of me wants to go full GoffickTM and hunt up an old Violet Fern outfit for her, but I'm often hesitant to dress dolls untill they arrive- hard to tell what they might want their aesthetic to be!

    24. Congrats!! I also look forward to seeing how you style her...or how she decides to style herself. ;) I had a Dark Elf Soo for awhile, and while I don't regret rehoming her, her mold will always hold a special place in my heart. ♥

    25. Yeah, a lot of people seem to really love the DES! It was interesting trying to find one, because the problem isn’t so much that they’re rare as that people who have them never want to let them go. I remember many people having them back in the day, and their tag is quite robust on Instagram even now. But they seem to work their way into people’s hearts and stick there, in most cases.

(although I feel like the old Delf girls in general were a bit less popular, and are therefore rarer to find now, than the boys. I think we’ve seen a real shift in the hobby to girl dolls being a lot more popular than they once were, and now everyone has the CP ladies on their wishlists. But I was 14 when I first joined, so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about!)

      • x 3
    26. That's so interesting to hear though! I can't say I've noticed that shift, however I feel my viewpoint is a bit skewed. I've always liked the boy dolls more than girls (though I have both), but then my best friend has always liked the girls more, and in fact collects only girl dolls and just adores her old female Delfs to bits. I've always jokingly said that if she doesn't have a Delf Lishe, the world will be out of balance. xD So long as they are out there being loved (and ideally being shared where I can see them) I'm happy. :) I really believe older dolls are something special, since they've been around long enough to collect so many memories with us in this hobby. ♥

    27. @Akai Okami It's really fascinating to me to watch dolls become rare in realtime. My main collecting focus has always been antique dolls- though I've gone through 7 BJDs since I first discovered them -and the process by which something that's not artificially limited turns into a scarce treasure is usually something I can only read about. But this- sculpts like Jess and Edgar, nobody expected to disappear so soon after their release. Because nobody knew the CP/Luts split was coming.

Being able to pinpoint the moment that changed everything and seeing for myself how the doll world shifted from CP Luts dolls being everywhere to being sought-after commodities gives me a bit of a shiver. It's Doll History, and it happened right before our eyes.

    29. Love seeing all the pics! My girl just shipped and I'm so excited for her to arrive- I'm planning to take her to my parents' house for Christmas, and get some shots with the terrible doodles I did of her as a teenager. :XD:

    32. SHE'S HERE! I'm calling her Celandine, like I planned to all those years ago.

Not a huge fan of the doe-eyed faceup (may send her off for a new one after the holidays) mand the pink kimono-style robe was a kind gift from the seller, but even without her Final Look in place, she's absolutely gorgeous. I love the size and solidity of her, and the tooth of the resin. All I can say is, no wonder these dolls remain so popular.

Now to get sewing for her!

    33. Congrats!! She's beautiful, can't wait to see what you do with her! ♡

    34. Okay is it just DES, or do all old Delfs have such sharp little nails? She accidentally scratched me twice while I was stringing her and keeps poking me during outfit fittings. (I don’t hold it against her :XD:)

    35. Which hands does she have? Some are more pointy than others. Most of my female delf hands are manicured and I think that top layer of gloss helps dull any sharpness the nails have. But just reaching over to the one nearest me...yeah. A few of the nails are kinda sharp. xD

On that note...I wish I could just buy more old female delf hands in NS. They are such amazing hands...and they work with some of my hybrids really nicely!

    36. I think she has the default Soo hands (Delf 05); definitely not the ones DES came with originally. The pics on the database do indeed look rather sharp-nailed! What a large array of poses- they look great for hybriding, as you say.

    37. The old Delf hands must have been really good at causing violence all around; my Nanu 06 boy has the event hands released on the Elf El body and they have poked me, jabbed me, caught on stuff, and scratched his faceup so many times throughout the years. Or maybe some of us just have little hellions in our midst

    38. I need some help, restringers, lol, i want to add some elastic from eluts to my order for Snow's type 5 delf body in the next few weeks, but I need it for Feather's body to restring her and save on shipping from other places, could someone link me to a size/elastic from luts that'll work? I'm struggling to find it!

    39. I love the little glowing lights and her cat!

    40. Very cute, and as always, your aesthetic is on point! :aheartbea

    42. So cute @SacredMonsoon!!! As always Feather is a joy to see :D I love that her bio board is as cheerful as she is!

I just brought home a Lishe of my own to celebrate a very personal anniversary, and I'm going to be giving her some TLC and maintenance work in the coming weeks so I can take some nice photos of her and share her here. I think I'm gonna name her Nell. The old Delfs are really so special to me, and it's so lovely to have a bunch of fellow CP Delf lovers to enjoy them with

    44. Finished making Celandine's outfit! First the undergarment layer, a shift and petticoat:

And then her outer clothing (the skirt has deep blue fringe with gold thread, and blue silk ribbon, at the hem; it just got cut out of the picture).

And, to remember her early 00s roots...some stripey stockings. Gotta love them. :XD:

    45. She looks lovely in that outfit! I have such deep respect for anyone who can sew clothing. I've tried many times and just don't have the patience or skill for it at all. I also love the striped socks as a throwback. xD Those really were a staple back in the day. lol (I still own a few pairs...♥)

    46. @~Suisei_Seki~ Celandine is looking gorgeous in her outfit!! I love the lace trim you chose for the underlayer!

      • x 1
    47. Thanks! I love to sew, and my dolls get clothes made from the scraps of my human-sized projects- though with this girl, I practically have to buy the fabric especially for her! And yeah, the stripey socks were so iconic. Amy Brown or Tim Burton vibes, which are not entirely my thing anymore, but I'll happily pay homage.

Thank you! It came off of a historical reproduction petticoat that I was given by someone to alter for myself- I didn't particularly want lace on it, so I took that off to use for doll projects.
