Congratulations on your purchase!

 

I am loving seeing everyone's favorite pictures of their dolls!

For years this was my favorite picture of Inanna. The picture is from 2009 and with her old faceup, but this picture for so long was my absolute favorite of her. I think my photography has improved since then, and I love her current faceup much more than this one, but this picture still holds a special place in my heart.

I had a new arrival of the CP Delf variety today. He's a white skin 08 Breakaway I'm thinking I'm going to call him Ethan. He came with a face up but it's damaged, which I'm secretly kind of glad about because I was probably going to wipe it anyway. At least now I don't have to feel guilty about it.


I also got the vampire head with him. I would love to eventually have his eyes opened. But for now I'm going to leave him safe in the box, because I have too much other doll stuff going on and I am easily overwhelmed


These are just some quick pics from the box opening. He still needs a new face up, and a wig, and better eyes. And maybe his own wardrobe too. These delfs are so demanding! xD

 

Dang! He looks immaculate for being 12 years old and white skin! He doesn’t look like he’s yellowed much at all. Beautiful boy!

I feel guilty for not posting pics of my poor Lore. He was my very first doll, a Delf Moon. I have him on an F70 body. He’s also white skin. I need to get his faceup redone eventually. It’s still in pretty good condition but it’s as old as he is. lol

@malvinas I love both faceups on Inanna and I think you need to find another head to switch out, one for a natural look, the other for going out But I do prefer the new one, just because I love a well painted darker faceup! I can't do these!
@Hyzenthlay Congratulations on Breakaway's arrival, he's cute, but don't feel bad about changing his face, it's what the BJD hobby is all about! Can't wait to see what you do with him!
@Stormlight If you don't want to change his look, I think Lore looks great as is! I especially love the skin texturing!

Happy I finally caught up with where the conversation moved to. Like others I hadn't been getting alerts & was wondering what was up. Seeing all the recent photos posted, it was fun to read through & catch up.

 

i can finally join the delf club with the arrival of my soony yesterday! it's really bittersweet because i thought i was getting an unmodded open eyed head and instead received a modded sleeping head who has had her teeth removed for some reason????? the seller didn't know apparently but it's still really disappointing. so i'm still on the lookout for the perfect unmodded soony so i can finally really bring my grail home. this girl can stick around in the meantime while i look. i have a type 1 delf body arriving soon, she's currently on the old b&g body she came to me with atm.

 

Oh, that's disappointing, @nanaminore . I hope you'll at least give her a faceup so she can shine. All dolls need love

 

She is charming in her own way.

 

nananimore I'm sorry she isn't what you were expecting. But she is fabulously sweet. The eye mod was nicely done. Good luck with the hunt!

 

*dances* I just paid the last of my layaway (as long as the conversion of money is correct) for a Bloody Valentine Breakaway. He's the sleeping head, but that means hes got the teefs. I have wanted a vampire Breakaway since before Feeple ones came out, but the timing was never right. This specific boy slipped through my fingers before I was able to snag him up. XD

Everyone's dolls looks so fantastic. :_: I love being apart of this, even if its been awhile.

 

@nanaminore Oh no I'm so sorry she isn't what you were expecting! Her eye mods look quite good though at least. Maybe you'll be able to turn her into something you'll love just the same, even if she isn't exactly what you thought.

Everyone has to have a favourite... I can't say that I do... there are too many of them and they're all pretty! (It does remind me that I need to take more photos of them!)

@TeaPartyRevolution you can't have a favorite because it'll create unrest and with an army of 'em, it's quite dangerous, LOL

 

@IngieBee That is more than an understatement, particularly if you take into account the nature of some of them!

@SacredMonsoon Hurray for elf ears! They made them so much smaller over time, lol, my elf Shiwoo’s ears are so long and pointy!

Here’s a shot of my sleeping boy Jedusor to start the day. This was the first faceup I ever did back a million years ago in college when I first received him (was that fifteen years ago? I think it might be more…) and his big ol’ eyebrows always make me laugh but I’m afraid that if I change a single thing about his faceup, as imperfect as if is, he just won’t feel the same. I put real eyeshadow and blush on him, haha, I had no idea what I was doing!

 

@nanaminore it's disappointing when mods are unlisted. I hope you didn't pay unmodded price for her. :/ Still, she looks adorable and she's gonna be so beautiful with a faceup!

 

When CPDelf was creating all these beauties plus the extra event heads, many people got creative with customizing as it seemed a way to individualize dolls. Besides, there would always be more sculpts it seemed... By the time the dolls changed owners two or more times that modification history may be lost. For example I had no idea my elf vampire y'der was modded until a DoA friend noticed him & explained how he had been modded when we were at a meetup several years after he was gifted to me. Among my 2005 juris there is some debate as to whether one or two had their eyes modded to ease the cheeky curve under the eyes. The friend I got them from had collected artist faceup heads when they were originally sold & the descriptions I have don't mention mods. So unless you're buying from the original company it's up to the buyer to research & learn what to watch for if a modification is going to be a concern. For me, the dolls that demand I buy them are usually tugging on my heart too hard for the careful rational thinking of a proper collector. ;}

Jedusor, he's fabulous just the way he is! I totally understand the faceup debate. There is one doll in my collection with a much simpler faceup who looks out of place with the fancier realistic dolls but she's just so perfect as she is that I'm trying to figure out who can give her faceless friend a similar simple faceup to keep her company.

 

@TeaPartyRevolution Your Lishe is beautiful. I love her faceup and eyes!

There are so many CP Delf sculpts that I want to bring home but only so much money and space. XD

 

Beware of those dolls... They have this weird tendency to multiply like rabbits. You start with one, and then two... and the next thing you know? You're up to your eyes in them.

thank you everyone for your replies!! she really does have her own charm and luckily i didn't pay a ridiculous price for her. tbh she doesn't look that different from regular soony to me, just with slightly bigger eyes. i do miss her little teeth the most though. i'm considering sending her off to be modded to make those changes and then maybe getting her airbrushed a pretty light tan so she'll be truly unique. right now she's seated on my desk while i shop for clothes for her because i really can't stop staring at her. i love her little face, imperfections and all. soony sisters would be the ultimate dream!! i think i may have to make that my endgame lol

i love coming in these threads and looking at everyones beautiful dolls. cp delfs were my favorite to look at back when i was a teenager with no money and now that soony is home i'm glad that i can finally participate.

 

If you get her airbrushed another color, I highly suggest you buy a different body, and have it matched due to how easy it is to scratch the body when dressing etc.... eluts is still making delf bodies, albeit a newer version. It will fit in style and is very nice, as I have one.

My little broken eared Angel Elf Soo ended up making it home on Thursday. I was really sick that day, so I didn't bother to post any pictures of her. But, this is when I first opened her up. I took her outside to take pictures, so this is her actual color. I think she may have originally been WS, but she's yellowed pretty creamy considering.


This was after a couple hours worth of work. I stripped off her original faceup (which was sad, but it was going to get damaged anyway) and rebuilt her ears. This is before sanding them and shaping them, they were actually pretty wet still in this picture. I had to force myself to stop because I kept reshaping them over and over again, and still hated the results. Now that they're sanded and dry I'm debating on adding a pointed tip or leaving them rounded. I would hate to see them broken again.

 

Aw @Angelesk shes looking so much better! Those poor ears, i love soos and i can't wait to see how she ends up!

Oh, she is so cute! I like her ears rounded, makes her unique, but pointy is also cute, so whatever you like is probably fantastic She is going to be beautiful!

And because I can, here's my second oldest Delf - she's on an F70.

 

I didn't know they made a female F70 body, she looks great on it!

 

Yeah, they released just as many girls as they did boys. The body really is just a Delf Type 2 with super long legs - so its not hard for Delfs to look good on Feeple70s, there isn't any different in the resin colour or size of their heads.

 

Actually, that must just be the girl body. The boy body is way more muscular than the Delf body. And a lot better posing. The one thing that drives me crazy about the F70 body is they use Delf hands on it and they are way out of proportion for the size of it. The feet I think are a little bigger, but poor Lore has tiny hands in comparison to the rest of him.

I wish I could swap them out with F65 hands but he’s white skin and yellowed so much the color match would be terrible. I’m pretty fussy about that.

Other than that it’s a gorgeous body!

Edit: Old pic is old so not very good. I slapped a couple of filters on it to spruce it up, but it’s the best full-body shot I’ve got of Lore on his F70 body.

I haven't noticed any difference in the feet size with the girls - nor the boys. I now have an F60 to compare and his feet look exactly the same size as my F70 boys. But you're right about the abs, the boys do have a bit more muscular than what I've seen with the Delf boys. But then my experience with Delf boys are limited, I only have one!

But the girls - same size heads, same sizes hands and feet. There might be a slight difference in the length of the lower torso below her breast region, but that would be the only other difference other than the length of their legs (and double jointing and the rest).

Here's a shot of three of my F70s... unfortunately haven't updated my photos since I got my newest boy! [Unfortunately my boys are a bit OT for this thread, even though their heads are exactly the same as the Delf BA 08]

@Stormlight Lore looks great! I've always loved seeing him. I agree about the hands. I even got to where I sometimes feel the Delf sized hands are too small for them and since a lot of mine are on Feeple60 bodies, I use the Feeple65 hands since they fit on just fine. Then with my Feeple65 bodies I end up wanting something like Soom or Iplehouse or another lol. I don't think hands have to be HUGE but like them just a little bigger.

It's great seeing so many Delfs on here! I need to get pics still for here of my Elf and VE Els after they had an amazing make-over by Angeltoast.

 

@SacredMonsoon , that would be fun, I just don't know if I'll have any time or ideas for it :P I work at a snail's pace and have a bunch of big me clothes I'm making. I want to clear out my fabric stash (so I can use the left overs to make clothes for my dolls, LOL)

 

@Ravenwolf @Stormlight I so agree about the hands. @_@ I have a FL El that I am currently hybriding with an SD13 body and I love the hands for that. His hands are going to look so out next to his Delf brothers XD

Each year my friend & I have a doll meet party close to Halloween. This year that has been postponed. But 2 yrs ago the theme was the Monster Mash Ball & I dressed all my Delfs for it. I was thinking I'd post photos of them from that photo shoot in October.
