If Shiwoo is a problem, I have an El and Shiwoo problem!

 

Fear not you are not alone I too have a problem but mine is a Soo problem. I own 11 Soos three of which are only heads. And I lack Six to complete my collection. Someday all mine will be faced up and have bodies and I can take a picture of all of them for everyone to see.

 

My... Shiwoo problem is that I constantly struggle to find a look for him that I'm happy with. On the strength of a friend sending a pic of her super-cute boy though I decided to have yet another go with mine, and...

Here's his current look!



(My real problem is Els though... As in, there's just no such thing as too many of them!)

 

Of course there isn't too many Els! I'm still debating a Minifee El. I'm getting a human Shiwoo... I need another LTF El to match Dean, which is Mike's twin, who's also an El.

 

Shiwooooooos!!!! I love shiwoos with a crazy passion, lol. I haven't updated my shiwoo group pictures to include all my shiwoos (I think my last group pic was missing my pkf shiwoo). I should do a new group shot. Tea, your shiwoo group is wonderfully out of control, lol. You have mulitples of several different molds, don't you? I love seeing your comparison shots of your kids.

Mayonaka: Thanks! As soon as I saw the preview for the movie, I knew my boy had to cosplay as him, as his hair is naturally black. And it's a wardrobe style that suits his style as well.

Thanks, Hypercurve! I made his outfit myself. Everything but the pants and shoes, lol.

I love all the Shiwoo spam and Lishe! I got my first Shiwoo last year (mnf) and he's so adorable Though my problem is Els and Moons (though I just have two, I'd easily have more if I could haha).

Here's my darling boy who started my El problem Though I had desperately wanted one before he came along haha!

 

My El was waiting at my door when I got home today! We're stuck in a cold snap, so I'm debating between finishing cleaning up my work station to unstring him and cross my fingers for good spraying weather Saturday (it might happen?) or just go ahead and put his eyes in and wig on for a while and enjoy him blank.

Oh good, I'm not the only one with a "Shiwoo problem!" So far I have *counts* eight with a ninth on the way so that will make four Delf Shiwoo. I can't WAIT for my Tanning Shiwoo boy to come home!

Rynn007 - I know he's OT here, but of course you need a MNF El. (Seriously. You do.)

I'd been going to follow Ravenwolf's lead by posting a pic of my first El, but then I decided to go for an old pic of my first... two... Delfs instead.

So here's Lafayette, a (Redemption) Moon, and Kyran, an El. Both are from 2006. And, yes, they're both very much still here.



Perhaps everyone might like to consider sharing a pic of their very first Delf?

I'm a late boarder of the Delf train, so Ed was actually my first, but I fell for him pretty much instantly and ended up with a second pretty quickly. I don't have any photos of the two of them yet, since it's too darn cold to do a faceup, so just Ed again for this theme.

Here's an old one of my first Lishe, and my very first girl. (She too, needless to say, is still here. In fact, the only Delf I ever sold on was a Jess - and even then it was only his head, as his body went to my vamp Breakaway...)

 

I didn't get my first SD Delf (I keep specifying that because the first CP/Delf I got is my 2007 MNF ShuShu elf) until March of 2013. However, Lishe was a grail doll of mine even before I decided I wanted SD dolls.

I realized that I misspoke! My first Delf was a DES that I had in 2007 or 2008 in the earlier days of being in the hobby. I ended up selling her and the AS Lucifer doll I had and then
taking a break for a while before joining the hobby again later.

 

My first Delf was an adorable little Miyu. I had a lot of plans for her but a lot of things fell through and I ended up getting rid of her.

 

Technically I had a Shiwoo and a Luwen first, my first CP sculpt who hasn't left the house, and never will is Deni, my Soo Special.

 

My first doll was supposed ot be a Delf Soony, but I chickened out at the last minute. XD BUT my first Delf was a Soony after all. ^_^ She now has a feeple 60 body, but she still counts right? :P Here's a pic from this last summer:

 

This is my first and only delf, a delf Soo. I bought her 2nd hand a few years ago and she is just so charming! She was a bit of a fixer-upper. She needed to be thoroughly cleaned and her feet sanded because she had glue stuck to them. And also, she had to be restrung due to her extreme floppiness and the horrible hook in her head cap!

 

My first Delf is my Normal skin Dark Elf Soo.

I also am wondering what anyones experience is with finding bodies that work with a White Skin CP Delf that has yellowed or greened. I have one on a Fantasy doll body. That I am not wild about. So I am curious about what people of found other the fantasy doll or the Delf bodies. I know my chances of finding a Delf body are slim, So I am exploring other Alteratives. Any and all advice is appreciated.

 

I myself was thinking of getting a Mirodoll body for one of my floating heads. They color match if you send them the head cap and it does not cost all that much extra. And the bodies are surprising solid and well built for being as inexpensive as they are. I got to handle one at a meet this weekend and the neck size worked nicely for my girl I am body hunting for.

 

Oooo thanks I will check that out. I am actually hunting for 4 dolls all together but I know the VDES I have will be more difficult.

 

Ryuichi was my very first SD doll as well as my first Delf.

Here he is wearing a wig that I made for him that's going to remain long until I figure out how to cut it in the style its supposed to be in.



Ugh, he's got the "hospital fingers" thing going on. That's what I get for taking his pic on a lip-shaped couch in a laundromat and being self-conscious of where we were instead of enjoying the photoshoot like I normally do.

Hybrids are allowed on this thread, carmarilla, according to what I was told by a Mod a few threads ago when I asked. Any hybrid are actually allowed on both threads that they are hybrided with, IIRC.

Ryuichi is a Shiwoo/F60 hybrid, but I prefer to hang out on this thread vs the F60 one.

Hi everyone! My Soo Angel Elf got a body today!!! She and her sister would like to say hi! Here's Adita and Aiko.

 

Oh, so you were the lucky one to snag her up! Congrats!!

 

Lol I guess! But thanks I too had been looking a while but they do show up! So patience does pay off.!

 

I had to be patient with my last girl. While not as rare as an AES, my DES took some time to find as I was set on a NS with the default faceup.

 

Love her! I want a DES next. But they may share a body.... Like two sides of a personality. I do love their default faceups

 

I can't decide on a Lishe or a DES for my companion to my Soony Elf that I got recently. I probably have most of this year to try and figure it out though, as I've been really sick and can hardly play with my dolls as is currently. I did try a new look for Deni, but I haven't seen sunlight for days around here so lighting is poor.

 

I hope you feel better, Almysidakay. Your dolls are so beautiful. I'm looking for a companion for my one and only delf, as well. I'd like an If or Yder. Unfortunately, these aren't on the top of my wish list, so it may be a while.

 

I like the wig!!

You may find the Wiring Jointed Hands Tutorial by Scargeear to be helpful (I used 22g jewelry wire, IIRC, and they're now really good about posing and holding positions.) Wiring also helps keep the fingers from flipping upside-down

At long last, my boys are together; I just finished off the "newer" one's faceup and snapped a quick picture of the two of them on my work table. Fingers crossed I'll get something better when I head out of town (again) this coming weekend, something not done after dark with the harsh light on my workstation and a phone camera. But I'm thrilled to have him assembled and wanted to share! So here's Jace, the modded and repaired El so kindly sent my way by Kafers, and Ed, the Shiwoo mod who's been posted plenty of times around here.

Oh wow, thanks for the tutorial! I've just used the "shove wire down into the fingers" method which doesn't really work too well for poor Ryuichi's dikadoll hands. I'm definitely going to try the method for his hands, hopefully they will work well for them. "Hospital fingers" gets embarassing, especially when you're taking an otherwise perfect quick shot out in public somewhere. I usually forget about them until I bring the pics up on my 'puter and then I'm like .

Congrats on the El, vicemage! Maybe its because I'm absent-minded and still recovering from the holidays, but what kind of problems did Jace have that he needed repairs?

Thanks, everyone, for the congrats! I can't see all the names, but I did appreciate it. (And they do make a very nice little couple, the Shiwoo and El sculpts just seem like they're made for each other.)

Ryuichi, I never posted any photos of him before he was finished off, but he was formerly a practice head, so he'd had his ears sanded off (quite nicely, actually), and had remnants of old faceup practice left on him. So he needed a good, solid scrubbing, new ears sculpted, and I had his eyes opened while he was being worked on, too. Now that he's fixed and faceupped, though, there should be plenty of pictures to come.

Unfortunately I've had to pack all my dolls away whilst I extreme clean, and I probably won't get them out again until work is over for the summer >: but it's great to see pictures of everyone else's delfs! I bought a vampire Shiwoo to add to my own Shiwoo collection, but he needs a lot of work before he's ready for a body...

 

He was incredibly photogenic for me this past weekend, @Kafers, so he's definitely enjoying the new life! I'm still in the midst of unpacking, but I promise some fun new photos fairly soon. (And I'll look forward to photos of your new Shiwoo once he's ready.)

So I have a modded El head from 2007 or 2008. Think I can get away with a new body from the companies I read that work? If not, what do you guys recommend?

 

I've decided that I'm going to attempt to obtain a Delf IF. I don't think all that many were sold, so I don't know how likely it is I'll find one. In the meantime, does anyone have any IF spam?

 

Mayonaka, my Els that are older have looked fine to me on Delf bodies from the MP or Feeple60 bodies. I haven't noticed any huge difference enough to bother me. You could always blush something to match too. It seems to be pretty easy to come by used Delf bodies. I know that some people use Fantasy Doll though and B&G but I prefer the aesthetics of the FL or Luts bodies myself.

 

I'm starting to think of either going with either B&G or Mirodoll because I need a more muscular body and this head is a type 1 so if I got a FL body, I'd have to do a bit of modding. lol

 

I have a Type1 El on a Feeple60 body and all I had to do was just take the neck connector off...but yeah go for what you want ^__^

 

I'll keep FL in mind. His head seems pretty yellow but I think it's mostly the MSC, but I don't want to remove the faceup lol
