    2. So then... part 9

And I am still waiting for my Rexy on the curvy body.
I really hope to see some ownerpics soon of someone who already received a curvy girl

      • x 1
    3. I've looked at Iplehouse and I was wondering is there somewhere on DoA that has images of the different body types? Because I saw the choices available, but wasn't sure what they looked like.

    4. Are you looking for owner photos? Because no one as far as I know has received a curvy FID yet...

    5. @Ashemanu congratulations on her arrival!
I would love to see a comparison between the big and small Lahela's if you get the time to do it
I remember seeing some and noticing a difference, so I would like to see how they match up

@davri if you are a member of Iplehouse, you can see all three of them next to each other :)
Its very helpful, but you need to be a member and logged in to see it

      @luluna Ares looks amazing!
I like that his weapons and armor are silver colored rather than bronze, it makes it look more luxurious
I loved the photo with Dane, Ares looks like the reigning champion, and Dane looks like the aspiring warrior next to him based on their clothes, very nice as always :love
I love your skin color choice for him by the way, I dont see too many in that skin tone for men

    6. Wow! Part nine! Congrats on that handsome hunk luluna! I too like the silver armor.
Exciting the new dolls arriving! Hope to see many pictures in the coming weeks.

    7. @GreenTeaSlug and @sisen thanks so much! But his armor isn't really silver...it was just the way I edited the photo and the lighting that gave it a cooler tone. It's nice.:)

      Here's a full shot...of the outfit.

    8. @GreenTeaSlug Here you go! I am not sure it´s a good comparison since the skin tones are so different, and one has a face up and the other doesn`t.

@luluna Grats to your new boy, he looks awesome, especially in that armor!

    9. @luluna your Rex is stunning and that armor is gorgeous!
@Ashemanu it's great to see a Lahela! Congrats!

    10. Ashemanu which body did you chose for your Lahela?

    11. Athletic body with large bust.

      @Patrice S Thank you :)

    12. WooHoo Luluna, what a hottie! Great armor!

Nice comparison shots, Ashemanu. It’s fun to see them side by side. Looks like your big girl has a doll of her own

    13. Doria is up and she is the most beautiful thing! A cherry witch!

Ive just ordered my first FID :)

      ITEM VIEW : F.I.D-Woman - Doria_F.I.D

@Ashemanu Thank you for the picture! Shes beautiful, I can see some minor differences, but that makes them both each unique
Very helpful and Im excited to see how she is going to look when done

    15. The black cherry witch set is lovely! I like how the lower sleeve is removable too- smart design

    16. Oooh she is REALLY pretty! I think for Charlie Elle has won though. . Doria's still on my wishlist in any case though!
      What options did you order?

    17. Doria is a beauty! Thank goodness she's not Korean so I'm safe! Here is the Korean coca cola my daughter found for me. So pleased with it. First product with hangul! And I can read it!

    18. Yay! I been waiting for her to be released! Now to choose, Carina or Doria, normal or glow peach. Decisions, decisions!

      • x 1
    19. Yippee! I snagged a 'second dress' with a friend for the new Doria set! Thank you Lee!. A long wait but I can handle it! XD

    20. Anyone know if we can expect a new boy this time around too, or do they usually just release new FIDs at the same time?

    21. Love the black cherry witch set--wish I could buy it without a doll. I also love the lower sleeve design. I may try to make something like that to extend the length of the sleeves on a couple of medieval dresses I already have. I also like how they lined the inside of the larger sleeve with black lace. Yummy.

@Alaia - Iple used to release up to 2 new girls and 2 new boys at a time, but that was when they first opened the FID line. I'd be surprised to see them release a new boy at this time. More likely we'll see one the next time around.

@Mahgiep - Lucky you, snagging a Korean coke bottle! I'm going to ask a really stupid question now: Is hangul the name of the Korean language?

    22. @vermont chick

Good to know~ Im not super worried about new sculpts right now anyway, was just curious ^^

      I plan to order a normal skin Rexy at the end of the month. Going to make her into a boy, so I will have to see what slim boy bodies the FID girls look good on. Worst comes to worst I can try sanding the breasts, but with the torso joint right there that might come out funny. Hoping it will be easy on me and just fit on the Fairyland Moe boy body I already have >>;;;

    23. @TatterPunk I ordered her on the athletic body with the large chest because I like how broad the shoulders are,
I think its nicely proportioned to her face ratio
I also ordered her in Light Brown, I was going to get her in white but I already have a white HID Doria so figured a small version of her as a travel buddy would be fun, plus a different skin color for variety so I dont have the same doll technically lol

I agree with you on Charlie having an Elle base, Doria (to me anyway) has a mature look, like she is late 30s or early 40s.

@Alaia I think you will find this useful!
      Fashion MSD comparison
The male iple dolls look like their bodies are too big, but the male dolls from Dollshe look like they may look decent with the Rexy head because they are smaller in proportion and size :)
Maybe the Fairyland moe body will fit as well because Rexy has a face that looks between the very realistic but can pass as stylised too in my opinion

Im very excited to handle an FID, I hope that size would motivate me to photograph again since they are easier to handle and are good to travel with

I asked Iplehouse for Kamau in FID, and they said they would consider it if there is demand for him. I think an ancient Egypt theme for him would look amazing but Im not going to push it further, since it was just a suggestion. I am excited for the future of the line though, there are many sculpts I hope Iple House minimizes like Falcon, Drake and Nancy <3

    24. @GreenTeaSlug
Thanks! And oh goodness yes, the Iple body would just be ridiculous with a Rexy head X'D

The character is a pain in the butt to shell as a doll (ive tried 4 or times now) because he is short, soft, and slender. So its challenging sifting through all the male bodies you can find that are either tall and super buff, tall and slightly buff with ribs poking out like crazy, or short and thick with fat lil sausage fingers orz

The moe line body is the closest thing I have found to what I want. So thats why I am really hoping it will work out.

And the FID line is super exciting! I love that they took their lovely proportioned big dolls and downsized them to a smaller (and more affordable) size! MSDs are my favorite size but my tastes have been leaning more and more towards mature looking dolls over stylized ones. So the FID line seems perfect!

I am hoping they make a FID of Aria at some point. She would be perfect for another character of mine.

    25. You might also check the Doll Family-H bodies. they have some nice male bodies that are a bit shorter.

    26. @nancy_schroeder_ca
      Thanks for the suggestion ^^

When doing layaway, does anyone know if Iple starts work on making a doll as soon as you order it and make the first payment or do they wait until you have it all paid off? Ive seen companies do both, so thought Id ask. Iple doing the occassional in stock sale makes me think they start work first and just sell the ones that dont get paid off that way. Im not seeing the info anywhere you dont have to log in to see though.

Just curious to know when I would set the countdown til ready to come home once I order <3

    27. as to when they 'start'... it depends. usually on how busy they are. Normally they start at the time of the order. but if they have a back long (which last I heard they did right now) They 'may' wait on LA orders so they don't have completed dolls taking up space just waiting. To be sure you may want to Q/A Iple to find out. Only they know for sure. Once they went through a period that they were so busy and backlogged they didn't start until the doll was paid off (this is NOT typical but just letting you know it 'has' happened). So since this is related to how business is "at the time" you really should ask iple. lol Sorry for the 'not help, help' lol

    28. Has anyone ever shipped an FID head back to Iplehouse to get a faceup (ordered it blank, and wasn't happy with the artist faceup). If so, about how much does it roughly cost to ship it there and back?

    29. @Lady Tiku
Thats alright XD Some questions dont have straightforward answers. Thanks for the info!

    30. @MB Lilac Im not sure if you will find this helpful, but this is what I did when I sent them a head for faceup.

I first sent them a question on their Q&A about wanting to send them a head, and how much will it cost for them to put that faceup on my doll. They will give you an address to send it to, and a price quote for the faceup. They didnt ask me to declare a value so I put in a low value so they wouldnt have to pay customs on that

I opened this link and filled the correct options until it reached the price they quoted me.

      https://iplehouse.com/home/shop/item.php?it_id=1606266064&nhn1=en

If the doll already has a faceup, you have to choose face washing also.

Add it to your cart and check out like you usually do (select EMS and zone) then checkout and pay. It shows me it will be $30.50 to be shipped to Canada, Im not sure how much it will cost from Canada to South Korea though, so Im not much help there.

I sent them a note after shipping with the tracking number, they didnt send me pictures or let me know it has arrived to them, I had to ask them in Q&A after I saw tracking that it was signed by someone.

I only knew it was finished and sent because I got a shipping notification on the order page :)

    31. I really wonder if its worth to ask again. It seems to take forever to ship my Rexy. I know am like a little child that doesn´t want to eat spinanche but usually they were faster

    32. @GreenTeaSlug - Thank you for a detailed response. It sounds very complicated, and pricey, esp with our dollar so low. I think I'll give a new faceup another try, and then decide. And save your response in my archives in case it's needed.

    33. I am afraid that due to the counterfeit issue they are currently facing, Iple had to somehow reduce the number of staff, so together with the back log from Christmas sales period and New year holidays they are not up to their standard short wait times yet. Also the curvy body may have been so popular that it created backlog of its own. When did you order your Rexy?
I wish you a good luck that you hear about your order soon. ;)

      • x 1
    34. I ordered her 2nd February and the order before just took one month for a nyid girl and kid girl- both with face up and a wig and some clothes

      This is why I wondered

    35. I understand. Well, then it seems that the FIDs are much more popular. I would like to see the popularity between all dolls, unfortunatelly FIDs are not in the basics category so we can only guess. Between the top 10 from basics, the most popular are 4xSID, 2xEID, 2xBID, 1xJID and 1x KID, so the last time you picked not the most popular bodies.

When I ordered my EID Carina, she was shipped so fast (14 days from order) that it seemed like forever when I was waiting for the Carved Heritage Lawrence . The waiting is the hardest part of this hobby (and we are much luckier with Iple as I heard that some other doll companies have the wait time even a year - I would not have the nerves to order from them).

    36. I am used to ordering from Withdoll and Luts (3 month wait, maybe 4) as well as Dollzone/Doll Chateau (6 months, 5 if you are really lucky) so honestly a 2 to maybe 3 month wait from a company as nice as Iplehouse is pretty mind blowing to me. I expected the wait times to be much, much longer.

(Should wait times discussion be in the Iplehouse Waiting Room rather than the general FID Discussion thread though? I imagine the Waiting Room might have more up to date info for people on delays and shipping estimates. Idk, just a thought.)

So I tried asking in the "what fits FIDs" thread but it seems to be pretty dead. I have seen a few mentions of 5/6 wigs sometimes being a bit too snug on the boys, has anyone tried 6/7s on the boys? Or the girls for that matter? (Wonder if I could sew a dart in a 6/7 wig to make it fit while opening up more options to buy from)

    37. @Alaia - I don't know about anyone else but I've pretty much given up on waiting rooms in general and spend most of my time in the discussion threads. At a guess, I'd say people here are bummed by a longer-than-2-month wait because we've been spoiled in the past by shorter wait times. Iple has had some staff reductions in the last few years, so it's probably harder for them to keep up with orders.

As for wigs, 5/6 is still your best bet, assuming you purchase wigs with some stretch built in, like Monique Gold. They can be tight at first, especially on the guys, but they do eventually loosen up. Even the Iplehouse wigs will eventually stretch to fit. I usually start a new wig on a doll with a slightly smaller head and let her wear it for a while. When it starts to feel loose on her, it graduates to the next larger head. I've tried 6/7s on my guys and they're way too big, except for a few wigs I've acquired over the years that were sold as 6/7 but were too tight for anyone to wear. Even then my FIDs need a silicone wig cap to keep them in place.

    38. @vermont chick
Thanks! I will probably have to work on figuring out how to take in a wig then. My partner and I are planning on several FIDs between the two of us, and there is an unfortunate shortage of 5/6 wigs out there ^^'

    39. I found the same thing with the 5/6 wigs--I ended up with one from IH, one Leekeworld from Denver Doll, and one ForMyDoll. Of those, the IH and Leekeworld fit best. Ultimately, I went the route of ordering customs (sophymolly) and then making my own! If you've got the time and inclination, the process is pretty fun.

    40. I've started making my own wigs, too, but I'm a long way from making something that I can actually live with. Wigs for guys are especially tricky. You aim for a natural looking hairline, but it's so easy to make a mess.

    41. I have played around with some brushed yarn wigs before, the fact that they always need a part and the fact that short hair is so hard is restricting though. Have thought about working more on them so I can get good enough to not just waste alpaca fur when graduating to that.

Also need to try a different base. Was using the glue cap method, but mine got hard after awhile and made them difficult to get off and on.

    42. How does the second dress deal work?
Bought this shirt in the marketplace for Jae Jin's modeling gig. It's SD13, Tree Design, not easy to get on, and will probably go to Junho who is coming eventually with a model body. But in the meantime...

    43. Not easy to get on,but definitely sexy :wiggle. May I ask about Jae Jin's wig? Is it custom-made? And is Jae Jin regular real skin? I just love him :love. FID Bichun is at the top of my wishlist.

      • x 2
    44. @boudica It's a chewingallapa wig. I've only had it for a short time. I like to put on lots of different wigs, eyes, clothes, but since I got this wig, I can't seem to take it off him! Jae Jin is real skin and Bichun propelled me into the Iplehouse addiction. Jae Jin's brother who I ordered in February is also a Bichun although he's ns.

    45. Great photo @Mahgiep! Positively drool worthy.:drool What makes the shirt hard to get on? The shoulders? Because the body of the tee looks like a perfect fit. Love the wig!

    49. @Mahgiep @Lady Tiku - Thank you so much. And Lady Tiku who are you waiting for again?

These sets are really wonderful. I need practice posing them.

    53. I finally took it upon myself to make a proper comfy goth outfit for Simon. I find regular menswear to be tedious and dull overall, goth clothing affords a little more interest at least thank goodness.

    54. @Mahgiep Oh my! Jae Jin is heartstoppingly handsome!

      @luluna Your warriors look amazing!

@TatterPunk Simon is absolutely beautiful and his outfit is most certainly not dull. I can't do goth style as I would get it wrong but I adore looking at your dolls, I've always thought that Echo is stunning too.

@LaurieESW I recently bought the Designs by Jude 'Dress it Up' pattern, I read the instructions for the pants and just saw bunnies, so put it away for someday when my sewing skills improve, but having read what you and @vermont chick said I think my only hope is if you do make some photo tutorials. I for one will be hugely grateful.

Finally here's my down to earth guy Gideon (Rex)

    56. Love your Gideon. He looks a lot like guys in my town in New England!

    57. Loving all the pictures and amazing styling of these dolls. One of the things that makes collecting Iples so fun, is the way they can reflect each collectors vision. From warriors, to goth, and even relaxed comfy, they all look fabulous!

    58. All these pretty dolls <3

Computer died this week, so having to replace that instead of ordering this sales period D'X Oh well, will just have to wait until June. Wonder what new doll(s) will get released then.
