The opening information needs to be amended to reflect that please.
DoA has had volunteers archiving various threads and updating the Wiki pages. Important information from the threads is being compiled on the Wiki page. Moderators are told of photos that need to be saved, and they are doing that part.
Myself and some other volunteers have moved important information from the FID threads 1-5, to the Wiki pages. Now those pages are gone, so the links are useless.

Seconding new faces! I really hope they don't discontinue though--I have at least a couple more FIDs from the current crop I'd like to snag!

I got some new eyes in last week and popped 'em in. I'm liking these pretty well, though I think I'm going to try some Dreaming Tree Studio next. All your pictures with them look so lovely!

I miss having my desktop computer, I would upload more pics of Mr. Serious my FID Rex. Also would love to see more new faces and not EID size shrunken down to FID.

 

I asked Iplehouse if they still had plans to release the FID this month. This is their response.

I haven't forgotten my poor dolls, don't worry. Today I managed to mostly finish Skuld's dress. I wanted to get it done before I did her faceup, so here she is with no face or eyes. BUT SHE HAS CLOTHES!
I did a bunch of research before I made this thing. . . That said, it's not entirely historically accurate mostly due to materials and sewing and colour.

The outfit looks great! I like the color combination, not too many Vikings around to say you’re not historically accurate anyway, .

 

Truuue. Mostly the colour is off cause it's super bright for being linen (blend). Plus I didn't dye it myself, but yeah, not terribly worried as long as it looks good and my dolls don't kill me in my sleep

@TatterPunk - Cool costume! If you're worried the colors might be too bright, would a tea bath help dull them a bit?

 

Questions. I seem to be getting scratches in the black color areas of my new puppy. I have hardy taken many photos. Seems very unstable, like no sealer applied. Should I ask about it in Q&A?

I finally lost a problem eyelash on Jae Jin. I don't want to pay $30 shipping from Iplehouse. Where can I get eyelashes for FID boys similar to what they came with?

 

@Mahgiep, I wish I knew, but my best guess is that they are lower lashes for humans???

I was wondering that myself. If anyone asks, please let us know what they say? It definitely looks like medium bust to me though!

 

It's written on the product page - in specification.

I passed Dane because when I read news about a bigger version being made, I thought that the bigger version would have the same warrior outfit and weapons, but then Baron came out and he was a God at a throne and not the warrior (...still got Baron on layaway)

Not repeating that same mistake, Im going to get the new FID Elle in the new Light Brown color with her weapons and clothing and double of them for her soulmate in the future. Will order tomorrow because I dont want her order date to be today, petty yes? I dont want it to tie to a day I wasnt having a good day at so Im not reminded of it.

Going to live my Xena warrior princess fantasies with this set lol always liked the Xena and Gabrielle pairing most

I also have some news to share from Iplehouse. Given time, I think we will see some of our favorite, classic head sculpts in FID size.

I shared some female FID poll results (from a FB group) with Iplehouse along with other words of hope and encouragement. This is their response.

Thank you for sharing us good opinions.

First of all, I want to tell you that we would offer things customers want.

We have a plan to release some popular Characters as FID.

We are just waiting for the right time.

We are currently releasing dolls with special theme themes. So the character just comes out.

And also, when we release new dolls, new costume has to come along.

But we have only few designers now

Because some designers who have been together for a long time

quited because of pregnent or some other reasons.

As the system stabilized, we will release more dolls and costumes. Please look forward to them.!

P.S. And please turn away from illegal copied dolls. We are having hard time because of them.

If you guys help us, we could develope high quility dolls. Thank you.

@Mahgiep thank you for sharing my excitement I will post photos as soon as she gets here

I wanted to get the FID when I saw how much fun you were having with your couple and my HID lady is just too large to do anything fun with, so I hope FID will be different

Also I forgot to add this in my upper post

You should un assemble your puppy and coat him thinly with mod podge and let it cure for 24 hours and then repeat for 3 - 4 coats

then you leave it to fully cure for 4 weeks and then string it back together, I got it from this thread and it is very promising because it held for a long time

@GreenTeaSlug Actually Iplehouse did put out a BID version of Medusa when Dane came out. She was on sale from part of July to Aug.

 

I love Xena. I can't wait to see your FID Elle as Xena! I hope you will make a Gabrielle eventually too.

 

@Bren Im hoping for an adult version with proper snakes like the one on the shield of Elle, the thought of Dane and Elle going to slay BID Medusa is such a funny image to me lol Can you imagine a toddler with two cute garden snakes on her head dodging and bouncing around a cave with beefcake Dane and thundering Elle chasing after her lolllll

@xyuemoto Thank you, it was such a good show and i always hoped Xena would pair up romantically with Gabrielle, so much better than all the romances she had on the show and it was better than the Hercules show, at least to me. For Gabrielle, I want to get her Aurora or if Doria gets released in the future, her. Im ignoring the likenesses completely lol...I liked their dynamic

 

I thought the same thing like you did. I was thinking that they might until I checked and saw the BID and knew they would not do an adult. Iple does different sizes for the themes. They had an Eros too as a small child. Which did make sense. I did have a chuckle or two when I saw that "fearsome" Medusa. LOL Now that mental picture of beefy Dane & Elle chasing that Medusa is a riot.

The Medusa on the shield is actually a Fantasy Vamp Stella head. I thought it was cool that they had put her on the shield. Stella is my favorite.

 

It was loads better than the Hercules show, haha. Can't wait to see your future photos!

That is a great observation about who is on the shield. With a little creativity how fantastic would she be, at being made into Medusa. Rather than resin snakes (like the BID) a wig with snakes (flexible even better) & hair. Vamp Stella has horns, if someone wished to re-purpose them, maybe into snakes? Or have a horned Medusa with snake hair??

Yeah, I am afraid if based on past history of releases, no adult Medusa, since there was a BID. However, there is the possibility to have her, using the Vamp Stella FID. Plus, if you do this on your own design rather than an Iplehouse release, she would be one of a kind and on your own schedule. The most difficult thing I think might be the snake hair. A greek style outfit should be fairly easy to commission. Do you have a photo of what your dream Medusa would look like?

 

Actually even better as she was first the most beautiful woman, no? If you want to tell the story, you'd have to have her both ways

 

Oh that would be amazing, so beautiful and then the other version. I did not remember/know that part of the story. Sounds a bit like Snow White's step mother.

 

I am really loving Elle too & she'd be perfect for my character but I'm holding out for the NYID/FID body. I sure hope they offer small bust!!!

Yes. both the SID and the FID did have Horns. That would be a cool idea.


@IngieBee That's correct. Medusa was curse because of her beauty. Love the idea of both. A person who has both sets could do it.

 

Dang....now I want someone to make a medusa wig for their Vamp Stella!

 

RE: fantasy Medusa OC, a lot of babble about my version of Medusa, if you are looking for FID news or updates dont read, its gonna waste your time lol

I looked up a lot of snake parts for BJD, all of them are long discontinued rare sculpts now (I love the Angelheim Medusa). I think for snakes, Ill need to find something not literal, or make one up using keychain snakes glued together and then painted over so it doesnt look cheap

If Im going to take it on, Ill wait until FID Pamela or Doria gets released, those sculpts look more older to me, and I like that mature wisdom those sculpts have. In my mind, Medusa looks mid 30s in human age, even early 40s in my imagination.

Gradient black from the tip of the hands to the elbow, tip of toes to mid thigh, for a grimey look, to give her a feral look. Maybe clouded blind eyes since shes always in the dark, so her sense of hearing is more important. Naked, maybe wearing human bone remains and jewelry only.

Im actually excited over this idea? Ill start working on it when I get my FID, thank you for the encouragement and for sparking my interest in creating again, kind of gave up after a few busted projects

@Bren I understand how she is your favorite, she matches all the criteria for a classic beauty and looks great in all skin tones. The Stella sculpt does match up with the Aphrodite goddess, shes a very beautiful lady, she looks great on the shield. Im now imagining Elle with her Medusa shield.. bouncing off baby Medusa, rubbing salt in the wound lol

Ancient greece really is interesting, and with the amount of details they put in their FID's, I might be switching from the bigger dolls to the smaller size. I love the idea of how light they are, and how travel friendly they can become. Ive already placed my order, hoping for a january delivery because I get paranoid whenever something ships in december !!!!!

 

Wow, your vision for Medusa sounds amazing! I sure hope Iplehouse offers one of your preferred sculpts soon so we can see your Medusa.

 

@luluna now that type of wig would be interesting to make. A wig made out of yarn with some wires woven in between them to create movable shapes of the snake body dancing around her head. Perhaps someone with wig making skill would tackle such a project. I wish I had the skill. Can you imagine little Vee wearing that gear? Claude-Kent would definitely fly away. LOL

@GreenTeaSlug Love your ideas. They sounds wonderful and would love to see it come to fruition. A medusa like that would indeed be a fun project. Iplehouse has always been a creative outlet for me. They do inspire a lot of funs idea.
I have always love the old mythologies so I'm just loving seeing the new theme.

 

well this has been quiet... new FID 9warrior Athena theme) is up and i have a bit of a PSA...


I'm going to put up a bit of a gentle reminder, request because of what I am seeing on Facebook.

Currently the new FID is getting a lot of loving attention. However usual 'I only want the doll' ... "i only want the outfit" comments are appearing in bulk. What is my request? Simple.

If you decide to order this lovely warrior Athena (or for that matter ANY limited doll/outfit release) PLEASE consider posting in the 'splits' thread and allow others to get the 2nd outfit set or maybe someone will want just the doll and you can split for both outfits and three ppl can be happy.

Iple has said they are struggling... the more they sell the less they struggle. And the better chance they have as a business of getting the staff needed to grant us more of our requests.

I have mine arranged and am thrilled and have more than one FID outfit waiting for me to get dolls... It's good to help fellow collectors AND Iplehouse at the same time.

@Bren - Yes! That would be so cool! You could probably weave some type of hair fiber too around a wire. LIttle Vee would be too perfect with some snake-hair.

Someday I'd love to get into wig making....but first I need to hone my skill at gluing eyelashes!

 

LOL. I'm so there with you with gluing eyelashes. They are such a pain but I hate not having my dolls having them. hee, hee.

 

Gosh, all this creativity is getting me excited to see the dolls come in during the holidays!

 

A long while ago there was an absolute lovely SD size doll on Etsy which had an optional gorgon snake headcap. It'd take a lot of sculpting, but that is certainly a way one could do a medusa "wig". Now you guys have me thinking I need a gorgondoll in my life lol!

On the subject of the new body they're planning, I reeeeeally hope they have a smaller bust option available. . either way I am gonna need it. I'm hoping that Nancy might end up being a new face when they release it. . though this new body will certainly spoil any plans for Isabel quite yet (she might have to wait till tax time if that's the case).

 

Just popping in to say hi, its been a while! My FID Rex decided to change characters on me, so he's now the older brother to my Yur Willa, here's the two of them together
