Hello shiny new thread!

Personally I am hoping Iple doesn't release anyone I want because I, too, need to go on a strict dolly diet. I've made two unplanned doll purchases in the past week, which means the dolls I was saving for will have to wait--again.

In the meantime, I have reshelled my Outlander Jamie and Claire. Originally they were Soom ID51 Cuba and FID Grace. The new pair are Raccoon David and FID Raffine:

 

They make a lovely couple!

I'd also be in trouble if Iplehouse releases certain sculpts as FIDs. I did order Rex on the new Model body on the last day of February, as a companion for my Bianca

 

I got new Glib 8mm round eyes yesterday. At first, they seemed too big and he looked too soft to me. I didn't like the color with a flash. He's a model so he can look soft. But this morning in the snowy light, I like them. I also got a light brown called Marigold. Opinions?

 

The package were the eyes I ordered for my FID. I'm thrilled that I got them as quickly as I did compared to the last time I'd ordered from this store. I'm also cautiously pleased that I think they'll work like I want/need them to based on the photo posted by @Mahgiep with 8mm in her boy (these new eyes are also 8mm). And the seller included some awesome mis-matched 8mm eyes that might end up in Wisp (Iple Creaa-J Lev). Now, I'm just waiting on the shipping notice from Iple for my boy.

 

Your English is very good. Your Raffine is so beautiful and looks to be enjoying the sun as she waits the arrival of warmer days.

I wish they would make FID sizes of Ashanti, Zera, Carina and a few others. It would really be something difficult to resist buying those.

In the meantime I enjoy have Aurora.

I don't know what to think or feel anymore. I fell madly in love with Bichun and was so happy he was released as an FID. When I bought him, he only had the muscle body available. I didn't know the model body was coming. I even spent over $100 getting clothes, a faceup, and so on for him.

He's meant to resemble a specific character from a TV show that I love. The actor is more model body sized than the muscle body my guy came with. The biggest problem is the clothes I had custom made were sized to fit the muscle body and it's not like I can just go to Iple and ask to buy only a model body. He would look more accurate as a model body but that's not the body I have.

How do I reconcile this in my head and heart that he's too muscled for what he should be, considering the timing of my purchase and all the money sunk into him, and the fact I can't just go and get a model body separately?

 

That is a super tough one, @Bishounen_Hideto . You don't have too many choices. You can just love him as he is, you can see if you can switch bodies/dolls and if the clothes would still fit, or you can sell the old doll and his clothes and buy a new one and new clothes.

It's a tough one. Sorry about that!

 

I looked hard at the pics provided by Iple for the Muscled vs Model body and I don't know that they're that vastly/drastically different. Maybe I can just decide the character no longer wants to be scrawny and so works out to become the muscled body.

Bleah. I hate being so picky.

@Bishounen_Hideto There are differences.
I just posted some pictures on my blog with shoulder width comparison and the bodies next to each other. This one shows a half-half comparison, I hope it helps. The first one is model body left/muscle body right, and the second shows Claude on the model body.

How often do you expect to have/see him naked? Or bare-chested? Clothes will hide a multitude of sins. However, if it's a case of you simply knowing that he's too buffed for the character he needs to be under his clothes... you're in a pickle. I wish I could be more helpful on this but your choices are very limited.

 

to me, there's a huge difference, apparent as soon as IH posted the model pics. the thighs & calves alone are a good example. The proportions of head to shoulder width and chest size will be very different. not to mention (oh, wait...I'm mentioning it) the smoother musculature on the model.
that's very flat lighting on the dolls, so when they're in your hands, you'll see the differences even more in natural light.
I'm so glad I sold my muscular Rex the moment he arrived last year. I just hoped for a slimmer man, and here he is.
Perfect for Bichun. having one of each (my Arvid is muscular) is very nice indeed.
I love the model girl body too.

 

@Bishounen_Hideto - Are you at all talented with needle and thread? If so, it's easier to take clothes in than to let them out. A few nips and tucks might be all you need to make your custom clothing fit the model body. I would buy a second doll (same skin tone, any head sculpt, model body) and switch heads when he arrives. Then sell the muscle body with the new head.

If you have bought any Iplehouse clothing, some things will probably fit. I bought a gray shirt early on that absolutely drives me crazy. It's made from a stretch fabric, but it doesn't stretch quite enough and the shirt gaps in front. I can't wait to get a man on the model body so he can wear the almost-fits.

 

@Bishounen_Hideto When the new bodies came out, right after I got Jae Jin (Bichun) I was worried I would feel the same as you. But my 1/6 boyish bodied dolls took care of that need and I realized I liked the built up muscular adult body better since I have nothing like him. If I were you, I would definitely buy the new one and trade heads. I know it would bug me forever not to have what I want. I know people who might want a FID Bichun so I think you could sell him fairly easily. BTW, I'm always looking for clothes for my Jae Jin, so if you don't want to alter them or can't alter them let me know.

I got an email from Stacy's Pink Ocean today. Turns out they have enough of the fabric I wanted for an Asian outfit I ordered. Sounds like they are working on it now!!! Soooo excited! I'd love to see if anyone has any FID dolls in their clothes!

 

Ohhhhh! SPO! I'm actually going to be making an order to SPO in the next day or so. Gonna get some shoes sized for both FID males and Soom ID51's (and maybe my SD Vito boy, too) but the main reason is for a wig for one of my OT guys. Depending on how badly my wallet cries, I might try snatching up an outfit, too (for that same OT guy the wig is for). I'm waffling about trying to pick up a pair of girls heeled ankle boots that SPO has for my FID guy but I think there's a better than average chance that they won't fit him *sigh*.

I'm thinking about getting another Bichun in light brown resin. Does anyone have any photos of their FID cast in the current light brown resin colour?

 

I got a tracking number for my guy in my inbox this morning! Yea! I have his eyes and a wig but he'll be a little short on clothes unless I really get cracking over the weekend. So excited. Hopefully Customs doesn't nail me *crosses fingers* as that'd be around $80 and I had to fork over $113 in Customs fees last week for a surprise doll from a friend.

Anyone have a photo of a FID in the current light brown? I'm trying to get an idea of the colour.

 

My Rex ( Mr. Serious) would love to have some shoes on his feet, and seeing how Iplehouse is taking their sweet time putting shoes up, does anyone know where I can find some that will fit his feet. Casual or dressy?

 

i have the satoriaj ones and 4 pairs made for a doll called peter pevensie (it´s a tonner doll? they were super cheap with 14 dollar the pair. I got them from he-meife on ebay) and a older pair of boots but it´s years since i got them and I can´t remember how the ebay shop was named. My boy has 6 pairs of shoes... my girl 1 -.- I don´t know why but I can´t find shoes for her..

@xyuemoto I have just received Isis in the light brown (just back a couple of pages) and I have a Bichun in light brown too. Its a lovely colour in my opinion and Bichun looks gorgeous in it

Has anyone pierced an ear on an FID guy? I assume lots of vertilation. I thought of taping the lobe to protect the finish. I would be using my dremel drill bits. Any conventions on which ear for Koreans? Any advice? Would you try this?

 

I'm curious, how do you like the boots? Are they hard to get on? Black ones would go great with a black cowboy hat I have. I own several Peter Pevensie pairs from he-meife (brown weave and gray suede workboots). He has shoes up right now. Just search seller: he-meife pevensie

 

Finally! My Claude has his own eyes, his new model body and a story...
And I made some new clothes, most of what I made for the muscle body is too large.

@ResinRapture - Walden is a cutie--and the slim body is a perfect fit for his sculpt. He makes my muscle-bound Claude look, well, muscle bound.

 

I love that in-scale camera. My Claude is on the muscle body and I'm super excited to get him home (he's apparently landed at the airport already).

Wow, the pictures have been so awesome! Such beautiful dolls, thanks for sharing them! I also hope to get a light brown Bichun It's really nice to see so many pictures I also love the He-meife shoes. I've thought of getting those boots too. I'm also wondering how hard they are to get on?

 

I haven´t tried them on yet ^^" but they are the same size as the other so they should fit. I can do it when we are back from our vocation

I liked him on the muscle body as well, but the model body fits his character better. He looks more boyish on the model body. The camera is a keychain I got from ebay.

So I guess I'm finally joining this thread. I was originally going to buy one of the FID males (Tedros or Rex), then decided I wanted someone with more Asian features and then I ended up ordering a Mari with the darker faceup. I'm not 100% how I managed that, but I am really excited to see her. I'm trying to sort out what I own that might fit her (I have some sweaters that are meant to be oversized that should work) and I need to go wig and eye shopping now.

I'm kind of sad that I didn't order a guy while I was at it, but at least this way I have some more time to think about which one I'd get since I'm now really torn between all of them.

@DamagedRoses0 - don't worry. they are like potato chips or popcorn. you can't have just one.

Dolls, in general, are very rarely of the singular variety. Show of hands... how many of us said, "I'll only have the one doll," when we were first starting out in this madness?

*raises hand high* I'm up to 47 dolls now (2 are Iple; an FID and a Creaa-J).

 

I only said 1 doll many many years ago...........all my dolls keep giving me attitude when I don't pay them any attention or tell them I am leaving for work, then I have strange dreams with them in it.......I get no love.

 

I only wanted three. Somehow they managed to persuade me to get friends and relatives, and now there's a 0 behind the 3. 24 of them are Iples.

 

Yeah. Slippery slope. I only wanted Moswen at first but happened to buy him during a free head event. So I figured I'd use the free head for Kijika, Moswen's husband. Only Kijika refused to be that sculpt so I needed to find another sculpt to be him. As soon as I stopped trying to force him into that sculpt, their son, Jaiseki, claimed the sculpt. Of course, once that was the case, I needed to find his husband, Sarojin. While looking for Sarojin, I spotted the perfect sculpt to be Jolen (unrelated but from the same world). Jolen needed his lover, Kysmirhea so....

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

 

I started with 2 in 2004, each with several heads and hands, so there were extra bodies to be bought, and friends to be found....but I moved from fashion dolls in vinyl to resin and never looked back.
and I still have my original two.

 

I'm still not totally sure if Simon should be Oscar or Claude. >__< Does anyone have an Oscar they can spam?

 

What shoes did you get?

 

@TatterPunk I only have a large Oscar. His smile is more subtle, and he looks a bit more introvert than Claude.

 

I'd say that Oscar has a much more subtly gentle look than Claude and this is coming from someone who's faceblind so it's probably quite noticeable to everybody else.

 

@TatterPunk - Don't know if this will help, but here are Claude and Oscar side-by-side. Both are the original large sculpts (SID and nYID) but we all know the faces are reduced digitally so there is no difference in the features, only in how they're painted. When I owned these two I had them as brothers.
