Dollzone Waiting Room v17

On 10.09.2024 I ordered Xiao Chu from ACBJD and on 07.07.2025 he finally arrived home. He looks absolutely amazing! He is exactly like in the advertising photos. Only the t-shirt has a little different hole pattern, but I don't mind that and he also has the cutest freckle that I had made extra. ^^

 

I am kind of insane about this doll, but marking six months for the adult yin long since ordering him. Expecting a year long manufacture time, though.

I still got time to find a proper shelf at least....

 

Bahahah, I feel you on this one! I'm trying to look at the long wait as "ample time to figure out how in the world I am going to display this absolute unit". He's gonna be the very definition of a centerpiece in my doll collection, and his odd shape means I'm probably going to have to get creative... but man, I'm stumped

What I would really love to do is build him a tree to sit in, but it will need to have a really solid structure and a heavy weighted base. I'm just not sure what surface sculpting material would be able to withstand his weight, but also not scratch or otherwise negatively interact with him. And for that matter, what material wouldn't cost a fortune to acquire in quantities sufficient for covering such a large sculpture...

 

Ahhh I got the notice from BJDivas that my yosd yin long arrived!!!! No tariffs to me at least - just pay shipping from them to me and a;sdkjlfa;sdf I can't wait to share him with y'all!

 

There's always the option of using an actual tree branch too! But I know a lot of people use spray foam and wood to build structures, carving away to get a more natural form. Paint and seal but then the foam should be soft enough to not cause any damage!

I can't wait to see all the yin longs coming in!

 

It's funny you say that, I just spent a couple hours looking at Halloween DIY videos that pretty much cover that exact technique! I recalled wanting to try my hand at making props that way before, so decided to poke around and see what options I might have. Currently thinking that I might be able to circumvent the power tools stage by buying a coat rack and using it as a base. Add some foam, carve it to a more organic tree shape, and get something to seal it with. That part might be a little tricky, I want to make sure that it doesn't rub off any paint onto Yin Long.

Might also look into the supplies people use in custom reptile terrariums, since those need to be nontoxic, easy enough to clean, and not easily gouged by the reptiles in the cage. If it's good enough for a live pet, surely it might be a good candidate for a doll?

In any case... hooray for your lil guy finally coming home! Goodness, that was a long (pun originally unintended but I'm leaving it) wait. I'm hoping these big ones won't take quite as much time, but I'm also not terribly optimistic, since the fullsets had sold out by the time I inquired with a dealer. Sounded like he was pretty popular.

 

Ahhhh officially got the tracking number for my boy (and it's my birthday)! He's on his way home!

 

This is not a drill, Light is on his way! Just got my notification from Alice's, and now I'm not going to sleep soundly until he gets here

After 1 year, 5 months, and 5 days of waiting, my dollzone yin long 1/6 scale arrived yesterday........

and it was the wrong resin.

I've emailed to see what I can do at this point but I'm just sort of in shock right now.

Oh... yeah, that would have me speechless too. I'm so sorry. I really hope they'll be able to get you the right doll (and maybe keep the wrong one as a bonus?). He's beautiful, but that's not even close to what you ordered.

 

@SmoteyMote What an unfortunate disappointment after such a long wait...I hope your dealer is able to resolve the issue!

 

Update! Looks like DollZone sent a bunch of packages that were labeled for the wrong customer so it's not just me dealing with this. BJDivas is working to resolve the issue so I have hope!

 

My Light arrived from LegendDoll over the weekend! Never even got a shipping notice, but he's here safe and that's all I care about.

I'm partially in the "Light Has Arrived" club... but all I have right now is his headpiece/mask, because evidently, he's been sent in no fewer than three separate boxes! Did yours arrive in one big bundle or several boxes? Assuming it was the fullset, that is.

Another of my Light boxes is supposed to show up tomorrow, though I have no idea if it's the man himself, or if it'll be his wings. Based on the weight of the box, according to UPS anyway, it sounds like it's probably the doll, but I guess we'll see!

 

Did you also buy through legenddoll, or is this through AC/New Clover/Direct from DZ?

 

I hope this gets resolved for you soon. What you received is a very nice doll, but it's still not what you ordered. :/

 

This was through Alice's. I've had things come in a couple boxes before, but this is a first for three or more!

 

Welp, bad news. The person who received my doll by mistake is refusing to ship it directly to me or even back to BJDivas. Like I get it was a long wait but like, way to be selfish. My options became:

- keep the wrong doll
- return the wrong doll and wait for the next yinlong preorder (and heaven knows what the wait time will be again)
- return the wrong doll and get another doll from their instock dolls (no one I want)
- return for a full refund.

*Originally we were going to ship directly to the person who ordered him but the box arrived damaged and BJDivas wants to file a claim with UPS and make sure that the order going to the correct person isn't all banged up.

I went with the last option. After the long wait, mix up, and everything I'm just really soured on this doll at this point. I might do secondhand dollzone in the future but I won't likely order from dollzone again unless it's something in-stock already at a dealer. BJDivas did so much to help and while they weren't super speedy at communication, they always did reply and keep me up to date on what was happening and made sure I knew that we could find a solution.

Despite everything, on a positive note, I do plan to toss that refund into my savings and hold onto it for the NYC Doll Con next year!

Anyways, thanks for being cool peeps to hang with over the past nearly year and half of waiting and good luck to everyone else waiting for their dolls!

 

That's so disappointing! I'm surprised the other person wasn't interested in an exchange... I'd have thought doing so through BJDivas would be pretty safe. Inconvenient, sure, but if both of you waited this long for your dolls, I'd think the other person would want the one they ordered, not settle for one that was totally wrong. At least BJDivas gave you some good options, so it's not all terrible, but... still, that's an awful long time to wait and come out (sort of) empty-handed.

In less dismal news, I'm now at 2/3 of my Light-related shipments, and the last one is due any minute now! As of this moment, I have his headpiece and his body/head. The last piece that's out for delivery right now is his wings/outfit/wig. The wait in these last few minutes/hours feels worse than it has over the past few months!

 

I mean, if they ordered a standard version then this was a significant upgrade.

Also super excited for the last bits of yours to arrive! Please share photos when you get everything together!!

 

He arrived! Photos might take a hot minute though (will probably post that to a different thread when I get to it)... I've encountered some "issues", some decidedly funnier than others.

The less funny one: his wings are BIG. He's exceedingly top-heavy (in before "You don't say!" ). And I'm really glad he doesn't presently have body-blushing, because if he did, his wing "harness" would have absolutely wrecked it. As it is, I've had a bit of the wing blushing rub off both on other wings, and on his body, so I needed to quickly find a way to reduce the friction if I was going to actually put those things on him. He has no upper body clothing to protect his body from his own wings.

What I've done so far is get some thin white craft foam with adhesive backing, trim out some little rectangles from it, and stick them all up inside the harness. This is at least preventing the whole thing from grinding so hard against his body. I'll probably rework that into something nicer as time permits, but it gets the job done. Either way, he's not easy to pose, and it was basically impossible to do anything with him that'd keep him right side up WITH the wings on, while also not scraping everything together in ways I'm sure are bad for the resin. I had to leave him disassembled until not too long ago, as I could neither stand him up, nor lay him down with the wings on.

The funnier bit is his clothing... situation. One of the following must be true:

• The outfit is supposed to come with underwear or something like that, but mine is missing.
• The "sash" bit is possibly intended to be wrapped around his waist somehow and then over his shoulder, functioning as "underwear".
• He's fully intended not to have underwear at all and enjoys swingin' in the breeze.

I'm not sure which of the above it is, but the end result is that my poor guy is always one gust or garment slip away from having the dollie police called on him, and this is not making the photo taking process any easier Not that I think the folks here mind too much, but it's an additional complication I'm trying to work around. I don't have any spare doll undergarments or pants so I'll have to figure something out if I want to be able to pose him more freely.

 

@Rekka I think the outfit situation might be option 3: I have Rock on order with fullset and I noticed there was no mention of including shoes, pants or underwear...
Guess I'd better be prepared to draft pants patterns for my boy when he arrives

 

Ahahah, I think you're right! I've been studying his promo images and I can't really make out anything, so I'm pretty sure at this point that he's not supposed to have any underclothes at all. That normally doesn't surprise me on any dolls that come with pants (which is what all my fullset boys from other companies have) under their robes, but with the style of Light's skirt, I guess it never occurred to me that he wouldn't have at least a pair of underwear It's not a solid piece, it has many sections, with as many gaps between them!

I suppose angels don't need to feel human shame, though I'm 50/50 on whether it would make the "Fear not!" command more or less effective if a supernatural creature descended before me in such a state.

Well, at least this might expedite me learning to sew. This would be a pretty simple project to start with! And I'll have to bear it in mind for future DZ orders... though the one I have currently outstanding is an exception. I don't think Yin Long (the 1/3 one specifically, but I guess this is true of all Yin Longs) will have much appreciation for a pair of tighty whities.

 

I was so hoping that you would get your Doll and that it would be resolved properly. This behavior from the other person seems quite selfish to me. Even if I would get a doll that is ultimately more expensive, I would prefer what I ordered myself, just because there would be a face up and body blush that I would really look forward to. At least I'm sending a big hug for everything that happened to you.

 

My Light just shipped from AC!! Like many others, he’s in 3 boxes with 3 different tracking numbers, and he’s shipping EMS from China, so I’m calling 1-2 weeks to be able to pick him up from the post office!

Because I ordered him before I’d even met my partner (which is WILD!) he’s shipping to my parents’ house, which is probably safer than my condo complex to ship to anyway!

 

My Little Snow also shipped!!!! She was ready in August but I asked Alice to include some other items I had ordered in the shipping box. I'm so excited to finally have her, she's one of the dolls I want most!!!

 

Just got Alice to check in with Dollzone about my order (Rock fullset on slim 75 body, ordered January 2025). They've told her it'll be another month.
It's a bit vexing as I'm seeing other people having received fullsets online.

I'm also concerned about the body – I ordered before the 18+ figurine genital issue earlier this year which has led a lot of Chinese sculptors to remove genitalia from male bodies. I was told by Alice earlier this year that my order wouldn't be affected. It's not as if I have a need for "excited" male anatomy, but I'm an adult collector buying a collectible for adults, and sculptors put work into detailing genitalia that I hate to see censored. If I've waited 11 months for a giant Ken doll, I'll be asking for a partial refund.

I love the variety of designs that Dollzone come up with, and I'm a real sucker for ocean horror, but I wish they'd slow it down with the constant new releases if it's starting to push production times to the year mark.

 

As I understand it, DZ can easily get to a year, especially with their fullsets. Also a year for a fullset isn't completely unheard of either. Whether they move quickly on it is pretty much up to chance.

 

If it helps, my understanding of the ✨ extra parts✨ situation is that they're still providing them if they were ordered before the ban, it's just orders from afterwards that will only come with the default part and no option of alternatives.

 

Legenddoll told me my blank 75 slim and Evan head are finally ready to ship in approximately 2 weeks!!!! Now the agonizing final stretch of hoping he doesn't get lost at sea 10.5 month wait for blank shipping is yeowch but I'm newly invigorated for his intended project so, WOO!!

 

A little scared of the wait time but, I ordered a moon white Miamia today. Such a cute little sheepy face

 

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but has anyone gotten around to Sapphire? It's a long, long ways from now but I absolutely did fold and go for him. I keep looking at his promo images over and over again. His sculpt had me wondering if maybe buying an extra head would be worth it? Too gorgeous to pass up!

I'm surprised no one seems to have mentioned the new mermaid. Is anyone considering her?
My first thought was that I was glad she was undead, because otherwise I'd be tempted by her, and then I made the mistake of looking at the actual listings and saw the "live" version. I really like the sculpting of the body and it looks like the main fins might be multiple parts to make it more posable? It's just her face that's not really my style. I just bought SJ's new mermaid body, though.

the impression of movement and the elegant swirling fins are so beautiful though.
i like both the types, especially the partial skeleton torso. I think her hands are webbed? so cool.

I just received my wings and crown from Light's fullset, they are so neat. glad to get lucky and score a set so late.
now i have to decide who gets to play with them first

Just emailed Alice for another update as Dollzone told them mid-/late November for my order, and it's late November now.

Once I get this boy home, it's no more Dollzone for me until they get the order times back under control (plus the censorship that's affected their male bodies like many other Chinese dollmakers has made their dolls less appealing to me – if I'm paying over $350 USD for a body, I don't want a Ken doll). I do like the ideas they come up with, but it's aggravating as a customer to see them come out with at least eight new fullset dolls while you're still waiting on your order. I'm just grateful I went through an agent so someone can keep pressing them for continued updates.

Edit: Dollzone have told Alice it's going to take another 2 weeks. I'm holding them to it. Hopefully I'll have my doll before the 1 year mark

 

It was! Fullset, body blushing, jointed hands, JJ parts, the works. I'm surprised he shipped out already, truthfully. I hope yours arrives soon!!!

Please let me know if your boy arrives with his genitals intact – I was told my order wouldn't be affected by Dollzone removing genitals from their male bodies as I ordered before that took place, but I can't help but be concerned about what could happen during such a long order period.

 

Yeah!! Seeing your earlier posts I expected to be waiting a lot longer, I thought mine would be one of the last to go out. Unless they maybe bumped him up the list because he had so many bits?? (I ordered from Alice too, so it's definitely not a matter of one dealer getting them faster than another)

I will be sure to let you know when he's here! I'm not too worried about it, though, DZ have said that old orders will be fulfilled and in my mind that means that even if he was missing his parts, they'd have to make good on it you know?

I saw some posts at Red Book, someone received with uneven makeup, another got more darker then on promo, but darked ver I liked more and mine is darker too, but it suits to my character.
Before him I received another 2 fullset dolls and they are had a problems, so because of this I warn you.

 

@Riku LIN Thanks for the heads-up: I'll check mine thoroughly when he arrives, and hopefully Alice will be able to sort out any issues if there's problems (Alice was able to help me last year when a Loongsoul doll I ordered arrived with a WS head on a NY body)

 

My Rock was sent in two boxes, and the first one (containing his wig, jointed hands, and a 1/6 stand from Alice's offer at the time) arrived today! The second box (presumably containing everything else) should be here this week too.

 

Oh wow, two boxes! Now I'm wondering if mine will be one box or two...
Going to check in on the 11th as Alice last heard from Dollzone that my order needed 1–2 more weeks, and the 11th will be 2 weeks.
Not expecting mine to arrive before the new year with all the Christmas postal madness, but I'm glad some people are receiving their orders!

 

I hope he'll arrive soon!! I know it's getting busier by the day, but mine wasn't in transit for long.

Little update: he's great!! He's not missing anything and everything is intact and beautiful. It took almost 2 hours to dress him, though - there are no instructions for his outfit so it took a bit of trial and error! The cloak and shoulder pad have to be pinned on (I think), and his hat doesn't want to stay on BUT all things considered, I love him a lot!!! He officially arrived 11 months and one week from the time of ordering.

Overjoyed to announce my blank Evan ordered Dec 2024 has finally, safely arrived today!! He showed up with no tracking from Legenddoll (sea mail was WAY faster than expected, about 2 weeks from when they said he was going out?) so he was a big surprise when I was heading out, but omg, he was worth the whole wait!! Best of luck for everyone's waits!

 

My Rock is finally on his way home! Alice emailed me last night. It seems my order is also in 2 boxes...fingers crossed he'll get here before the end of the year

My Rock and his outfit have made it to me, but unfortunately it's been a disappointing experience.
I've described what I've received in the Waiting Room, but tl;dr I won't be ordering from Dollzone again in the near future, and I will never order another of their fullsets.
I hope everyone else's orders make it to them quickly and that they're of decent quality.

 

I have a 75slim body, and out of the box, he was insanely tight, like I'm decently strong and it took all my might to budge the S-hook enough to get a head on type of tight. It's a company issue, not all 75 bodies are strung like this.
My solution was cursing copiously to pull out the hidden thigh peanut in order to get him curled up in the fetal position. I had done this nude, which may be easier for you too. When he's curled up, leave him like that for a week or two. He'll pose fine and not give you as much trouble.
(I do agree btw the loongsoul 73 3 part torso new body is great, I just had to restring mine out of the box and he's given me zero issues.)
I'm also sorry the fullset wasn't good quality, that really sucks

 

Came to see if anyone else had bought a Sapphire!!
I was so in love with the promo photos too that I was planning to get just the head, but ended up getting the full set.
I'm so anxious to get my hands on it!

Finally ordered Yin tonight! Hoping he comes in under the 12 month mark that people are saying is typical right now, but not counting on it haha
