Reason for choice:

I fell in love with her 1/6 version so hard, I just knew I had to have her even before actually wanting a MSD.

Best Points:

She has the prettiest face, I love her soft features, her round cheeks most of all.

Worst Points:

She arrived strung so tightly I almost broke my finger trying to pull the hook to put her head on her body, so I still have to explore how well she can pose. Also, I'm so used to dolls with bigger heads that her head looks almost too small for her body. Her 1/6 counterpart head is, in fact, a LOT bigger, almost SD size!

'Mimi' can be a Chinese, Japanese, Italian or Korean name, at least. I love the flexibility and cuteness, but I liked the idea of being a nickname for a 'stuffier' Victorian name even more!

Mimi (real name 'Emma', which she really dislikes) lives in the same circus Delphine used to perform in. She's the circus director's only daughter, and descends from a line of circus performers that's almost like royalty. She's shown promise as an acrobat, but she has delicate features and an apparently submissive attitude, qualities her father hopes to put to good use setting her up for a good marriage. This way, he's convinced that their family's popularity in the circus will help propel them to the highest spheres of society. With this plan in mind, Mimi's family eventually chose to separate her as much as possible from the circus environment - she was sent to boarding schools, was taught piano and at least two languages. In other words, she's the epitome of an accomplished young lady. She's sweet-tempered and apparently shy, but that is, in part, a ruse - she's a creative, free soul who does her best to circumvent the sheltered life she is forced to live, and sneaks out to mingle with 'her' circus folk as much as she can. In fact, that's how she met Delphine - with her mind-reading abilities, the little girl sensed her sadness and restlessness and the two became best friends fast. Like Delphine, Mimi is a smart, creative girl. She has long since learned to observe the world around her to hide her rebellious streak and get what she wants the way she wants it, without raising her voice and concealing it all with sweetness. This way, she's convinced she will play her cards right, breaking free from the horrible perspective of her arranged marriage, and from the whole path her family seemingly carved for her. Though Delphine was eventually adopted out of the circus, Mimi still feels like Delphine is her true, only family, so she still finds ways to sneak out and see her often, to take care of her. She also has a strong affinity with Frankie, and she happily showers both her secret companions with affection, still playing childish games with them when the occasion presents itself, despite being much older.
