Yknow I kind of wish soom would make a less buff 72cm doll haha. I feel like it would be great to have a lean guy in the ID lineup. Not that Im noy a fan of a beefy doll, lol! I just feel like every doll I see in the 72cm range is like a body builder and it would be nice to have some variety!

 

@RoyalBarjack , I wish they would do Doll Choice like Iplehouse does.
It would be fun to pick the bodies, heads, skin color, etc

Once we get a Idealian/Megagem Choice Event again I so want to get this guy in normal skin.
Love the overall look of his sculpt really much, as (just sculptwise...ignoring that the faceup on the white guy make him look so innocent xD) he looks more mature. I love that

 

They might do a special order for him before a free choice event. You could ask them to add normal skin. Sometimes they do add a color if they get enough requests.

 

Garion was also only going to be released in I think red, tawny, and creamy white. I guess they got a few requests for normal skin because as soon as I asked, they made him available in normal

Oh, no. I was so happy not to want Kahn...but I realized a few minutes ago I have a character that the gray version would be beyond perfect for with the B2 faceup, long-nailed jointed hands and priestly garb, modified by removing the crosses and such. In other words, whole, horribly expensive enchilada. I really hate myself right now. But oh well, I still have a couple of weeks to convince myself that he would be a complete waste of money...

Seconding this! Usually they say no to the first couple of people who ask, but after enough requests, they will add a color unless they have plans for a foreseeable future release. It is a business, after all, and they want to please their customers and make money.

 

Soom is pretty good about adjusting the faceup to suit the skin color but personal preference on dark blush can vary. You might ask Soom if you can ask for the blush to be light. Be sure to tell them skin color and faceup you are interested in.

I made him that wig from alpaca fiber but Soom gets all the credit for the face-up.

As for Kahn ? I think I am just going to get both of the outfits for my white and grey Amor's.
Now IF they had normal as a skin choice for Kahn then I may have to reconsider but for now i am ok, I think LOL

Don't forget the jointed hands guys They were challenging to paint but I did it my first try.
Now I'm off to paint the rest of him.

 

I love Soom's blushing on white bodies! The last one I got was ID51 Cuba monologue and the resin was a bit pinker than previous Soom white skin and very nice. I really don't develop characters for my dolls so the white skin isn't an issue for me.

 

And they look amazing! I've never done black nails before, but I see them in my future if I decide to get gray Kahn. Assuming that you used acrylics to paint them, were they the final step, or do they have a layer of msc over them? And will the dark pigment eventually stain the resin...? (Too many questions...so needy lol)

 

@celga Thank you I have an airbrush so I use Golden matte medium to seal the hands first, then I use Golden high flow acrylics to blush his hands and a small brush to paint his nails. The black won't have any affect on the resin since they were sealed first, so the paint is resting on a few coats of sealer and has no contact with the resin.
Even if you use MSC or a different sealer, as long as that goes on first, there should be no worries about staining. I also used liquitex matte varnish as a final coat to protect the acrylic and pastels from smudging or staining. I hope that helps!

@Serdtse Sadly I don't have an airbrush - just brushes, pastels and acrylics - but that was enormously helpful, since the basic concept is still the same. Thank you for all of the useful tips!! I've done hand blushing before, but never jointed ones, so I'm a li'l bit nervous. (And we're not even talking Kahn here - I'm still on the edge of my seat waiting for Garion and his disassembled hands to come home...) I'm sorry that your Zak has such a large and weird appetite, lol...but SO worth it.

Gosh, @Serdtse your Hyperon looks so gorgeous in that wig!! I love the jointed hands too.
I did finally order my own pair of jointed hands for my guy, but they likely won't be here for another couple months.
Actually, Serdtse, I was so inspired by your gorgeous shot (especially with the way you have his hair styled), that I retried my Narmer- Horus wig on my boy. At first I wasn't all that happy with how it looked, but I played around with it and tried to style/arrange it differently and here's the result:

I took some new better photos of Ember again yesterday morning with the wig. I also finally got the Iplehouse coat he's wearing zipped up... which I am pretty much only able to do when he's not wearing a shirt underneath... Not that I mind really.

Question for anyone who owns both body types - do the ID75s make the ID72s look small when they're standing side by side? I'm considering getting Kahn as a 72, but I don't want him to look disproportionate to Garion when they're photographed together.

The guy in the middle is an ID72 with two ID75's.

 

Oh, that's a great comparison - thank you so much! Hum, hmmm - can't decide. Well proportioned and look great together, but maybe not intimidating enough for the character that I'm envisioning...? Argh, hobbies should not be this stressful, lol

 

If you have all the same size, they can share clothes.

I keep thinking the one doll, with the elf ears in the middle, is a Hyperon, so probably not a new release XD. And they've released so many new ID75s that it would be really surprising if those are new releases. My wallet wouldn't be happy that's for sure! I'm trying to save up to go to the Volks LA Tea party in September XD.

EDIT: Oh wait she said they might be new releases soon! ...but if I look at better pictures of the booth, it's not a Hyperon, its an Ender!

Good spotting @nancy_schroeder_ca! Did the Guardians cape and arm guards originally come with the choice of brown or black?? I like the brown...not that it matters, since it's apparently an old release...

 

@celga, There wasn't a color choice but the outfit appears to be black and brown. Maybe they had samples in several colors.

@Tangmalangaloo I'm sure there will be regular ID75 releases to tempt us.
