Sartoria J Design Group - Part 3

My order for Jade (Galadriel) arrived yesterday! I wrote up a box opening for her here.

Oh, I love the new sculpt Sophia! She would be perfect for the 59 Daphne Body, which I haven´t ordered yet. She looks so lovely with the red hair and that dress. Where is a rich husband when you need one

 

Oh my God! Sophia is the one! just by one glance I want her lol

 

If there was ever a full set I'm completely smitten with, it's Sophia! I am actually floored by everything — from the softness of her sculpt to the makeup and perfect styling. Somebody please get her full set so I can live vicariously through you!

I've said before that Halloween is my most anticipated event of the year, and the team at SJ didn't disappoint! Amara darling is getting spoiled Thank you SJ for feeding us well

 

Sophia is gorgeous, I definitely think SJ was inspired by the character Agnes DeMille in Wednesday season 2, cause I def think she looks like that actress!

I'm not buying any more SJ dolls until some of the ones I'm waiting on start shipping, so I'll just have to hope SJ releases her again in the future.

I ordered Naomi´s wig and the black lace boots. With 5 open orders Jay was so kind to add them to one of those. After the pirate shopping spree I am holding back for the Xmas event now - I hope for some spectacular dolls like last year

 

My Marie order is queued for shipment! So excited to see her soon. Anyone know how long they usually take to ship from this point?

 

65 ATH and 70 DAVID body sale is on, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet! Sculpts that were originally available in 1/4 are now also available in 1/3.

I'm really loving Marina in amber beige especially! Our siren has a really strong model face game. Gosh, I'm tempted, but then I remember I already have my own 65 ATH on the way More clothes for the big girl soon I hope, and the men to arrive in the next few days!

 

@sageyufi are the men definitely part two? Where are you getting this info? I always seem to be out of the loop

 

@Loganberry I’m only speculating tbh since they always have men and women when releasing multiple dolls. And it seems a bit strange for the David body to be going on sale by itself without accompanying male dolls. Also, isn’t it just as old as the Daphne body? I have heard there are doll owners with floating special heads who made requests for a body-only sale, so I know this is definitely SJ’s answer to their call at the very least.

 

@sageyufi ah I see. You're speculation do make sense though.

I think I'll be ordering Marina in the 1/4 size. But it's scary when I know there's more to come haha.

 

So I got an email fro SJ last week saying something special was coming in the mail. Obviously very nice for them to send something, but I was expecting some nice discount cards and a calendar like last year. Imagine my confusion and delight when this showed up!

I got that too today, it sits on my desk and watches me typing Very generous! Now I am really excited to see what the new collection will be! I was so sure it would be four guys and some clothing, but it seems I was wrong

@sageyufi Good question, I'm not sure, I'll measure him for you! He's smaller than a coke can, but his head feels around the width of one haha

Thats OK, I'm embarrassed when I did the math on Iplehouse dolls since 2013
SO many came and went. I have my "keepers" now.
Needless to say, I own 3 SJ dolls, so I guess you can say, I'm really picky.

 

@Ashemanu Aw, he's a wittle guy! That puts him about 1/12 scale and would make the perfect in-universe baby dragon for my custom Nendoroid hybrids

Does iplehouse SID size fit SD David body?
I only have SID body handy until my SartoriaJ boy arrives, and I am hoping to get clothes ready for him before his arrival

@Lady Maeve I would guess its probably closer to EID model body rather than SID, but I'd have to look at the measurements again.

Edit to add: I took a look at the model and super hero EID measurements and several of those would be too small for David. Super hero EID was close but still had a few cm off here or there. Shoulder, neck, hips, waist and thigh measurement differences probably being the most important. I have to imagine SID would definitely be too small.

 

She is an Agnes! Good eye! I hope yours comes in soon!!! (I do have two Agnes...and love them both so much.)

@Ashemanu - Thank you very much! I appreciate that. I need to set up a different background so I can get the whole width of her dress in a photo. LOL I also got the shoes...but need to order a pair of the heeled feet that fit them.

But I'm so happy I was able to get some of the SJ outfits offered this year as Jay seems to be cutting back being able to do that.

Oh goody and oh no, I thought I would solidly escape the holiday sale this year!!

 

So Zeva has a tail /no wings, and Theron no tail but wings. I absolutely love his dragon face up. It would be terrific if that face up would be available on the human head as well!

 

The metallic sheen body blushing is pretty darn cool, and the SD-M dragon body especially goes so hard with it!! Though I'm a bit disappointed we can't have both a tail and wings at the same time. I can't wait to see what their outfits will look like!

 

Has the release of the big dragons been postponed? Zeva should have been released yesterday, but maybe I am missing something?

 

They just now posted pics of Theron and added that the sale starts on Dec 18th, which was yesterday. Yet the dolls can't be found on their website and there hasn't been any information about a delay. It's a bit weird lol

The dragons are up!! I really like Zeva. Something about her eye shape. And of course they again offer cocoa brown...I love that color and they keep bringing it back to tempt me, lol.

 

Is it just me? Or, does Zeva look very much like Natalie & Ayla

I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more large dolls but Zeva is VERY tempting!

 

Theron is very tempting but I'm gonna do my best to close down my doll buying for the year haha.

 

Well, I'm glad I passed on the 1/4s now. I do love dragons, and I think the textures were (again) very nicely done, but they weren't quite what I was looking for. I agree it would be nice if Zeva had both tail and wings, but honestly, I prefer just the tail to just the hip-wings Mive had. Hip-wings always seem like more of an accessory than actual limbs to me (which is fine from an artistic standpoint, of course). But I definitely appreciate that SJ actually gave the webbing of all the wings texture, instead of the smooth blankness we've gotten from some other companies. I also would have preferred if we got digitigrade legs, but all things considered, they don't look bad for being humanoid. And I absolutely love both of their faces! So... guess I have some thinking to do.

 

Then all three together could be sisters! That's actually such a cute idea when I think about it

I'm pretty partial to Theron's dragon design myself -- he's got a presence like no other! Sadly, he's not a luxury I want to commit to. I am, however, considering whether or not to get his human version to mod into the shell of a character. His clothes have the perfect vibe right off the bat at the very least.

 

I'm actually a bit disappointed that Zeva doesn't have wings. I personally like how the hip-wings look on Mive! Although I'm aware that she probably couldn't fly with them

 

For those of you that were disappointed that the human body Theorn option didn't have both head ordering options, if you message Jay you can order both heads on the human body. I guess there was a technical glitch that prevented offering all the needed options or something. Anyway, I messaged Jay and was able to order Human Theorn with both heads. Yay!!! I'm very excited. He's the first big doll I've ordered in probably 6 years or so, but he spoke to me too loudly to resist!

Well, I caved and ordered Zeva. I ordered her in the human form but dragon head with face up, cocoa brown skin. I splurged and ordered her outfit and wig too. She's officially the most expensive doll I've bought but I just love everything about her. It's gonna be a long wait. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else temps me for a while now

I decided I could squeeze in one more doll this year, so Zeva's on order! (Meant putting off another wig-etc. order I'd been planning, but that's fine. If my dolls were going to kill me for letting them sit around in temporary stuff, they'd have done so years ago. )

Grats to all the incoming dragons and their human counterparts! I was totally prepared - mentally and financially - to indulge in the christmas dolls, and ended up with buying nothing. Very tempted by Zeva, but in the end I couldn´t decide to spend the money. Well, let´s see what January will bring

 

@luluna - Oh, right. Had to be the dragon version! In cocoa brown with blushing because it was so beautifully done, and I can't possibly do anything that nice. The other idea was to get her in white and dye parts of her blue for an ice dragon, but it's not a true white, so I don't think I'd be pleased with the outcome. Congrats on Theron! Any thoughts on what you'll do with him yet?

@Ashemanu - I was hoping to see more in the Celestial line. And the Tarot theme too. And if we ever get a revisit to the dragons, I'd love to see more fantasy resin color options, but maybe I shouldn't be giving SJ the keys to my money.
