Thank you thank you! Most of their measurements (EID model body comparied to 71 Satoriaj) are an almost exact match but their hips differ by a few cm, so it has me leery about purchasing pants.

When a discussion thread gets very long with many pages, the mods create a new one by choosing a recent post (usually with a photo in it) and making that the first post in a new thread. They sometimes add some basic info about the topic so that it's easy to find!

 

I was wondering why I didn't have any notifications and then the other thread was locked! It all makes sense now.

I just got the email from Sartoria with their new limited skintone!


I hounded them for years to make a brown that's not yellow or orange, and now I already had accepted they'll never deliver it after being ignored/dismissed and went on to plan other dolls...
Grah!

 

Oo love it, definitely has more red undertones than yellow.

 

If only i could get fox girl sarah in that color. oh well. I didnt care for the 5th season sculpts...or last years elves.

I am dreading the release of the 5th season dolls ... eight temptations! I am afraid I will like at least two or four of them
Also like the new skin tone, but I am not sure I am willing to pay the 100 or so $ extra for that.

I really like the fifth season. I've so far been able to resist buying, but I really want four of the new ones that came out recently. I really want Ian, Henry, and Daniel in the darker skin tones. I really wanted Nicole, but she was 1/4 size. I would have preferred her in 1/3. I can't decide which males to get or if I am going to skip. They told me this would be the last month for cocoa brown and i really want this resin color. I think Maya is a nice sculpt, but not really my style. I am tempted though to get her in cocoa brown. I already have about 13 SartoriaJ dolls. I don't need more. I missed carob brown due to not liking the sculpts as much. I would like at least one or two in that resin color one day. If only they would offer my favorite sculpts in these colors. I need to diversify my collection most of my dolls are Asian or fantasty characters. I wanted to expand my story world to add more countries and ethnicities, but I guess it will have to wait.

It seems people in the thread are wanting Sarah as well in cocoa brown. I would like her in cocoa brown as well. She is one of my favorite sculpts I don't own yet. It would have been nice to get her in cocoa. I like her regular sculpt not her gumiho sculpt. I don't really like sculpts that have tongues poking out too much. Does SartoriaJ ever re-release special resin colors? I regret missing out on carob brown. I really like the sort of burnt brown bronze look. I can't describe it. It looks like a burnt color that adds a lot of character to the dolls which I like. I didn't like the face sculpts at all though. I didn't want to sell the head off and hunt down a head sculpt that would match the body, but I am regretting skipping. I can't wait though to see everyone else's dolls in carob brown.

 

Is SartoriaJ layaway longer than 6 months? I thought it was 6 motnhs, but someone on Q&A got a 8 month layaway and requested paying on specific date. Is this normal or do only special cases get to do this?

Edit: I think I will purchase this month. I narrowed down to Henry or Ian. I hope I can find Maya and Daniel in cocoa brown in the second hand market. I would like Nicole too. I wonder if people are going to buy more cocoa brown dolls or the usual colors because I'm worried it's going to be hard to find cocoa brown in the sculpts i want. I can finally make that half Asian half African American character doll I've been wanting for a long time now. I finally found a sculpt I like and it's from one of my favorite doll companies. It's finally working out, but I forgot his story I created in my head. I feel like I was going to make him a half brother to my other SartoriaJ doll. I've forgotten which one. Oh well I have a lot of male SartoriaJ dolls I will just choose one of them to be his brother. It can't be Jun because he is in a time travel story with Jenice. It wouldn't make sense either because Jun is set in the Joseon era. Could it have been my Idealian I was going to make him related too? Oh well I will work on it later.

 

Bit of a warning for anyone else who ordered Nadia - I made the mistake of popping her headcap on before I put any eyes in (she shipped with the headcap in a separate hole) and I had serious trouble getting it off again. I finally had to wedge a small plastic spatula between the magnets to get it free. Has anyone else had this issue with any of their recent sculpts?

Otherwise, she's lovely and has few seams despite being in carob brown.

 

I would Love to see her resin color. I missed carob brown because i didn't like the face sculpts.

 

You are not the only one. I own three big girls and I also have the problem with the headcapsn not getting off easily. Sienna, Laura, Yvonne. Also with the small girls. Using tools too to get the head caps off

 

@Forever We Are Young - Here you go, though they're not the greatest images! Sorry about the wig - it was being impossible. This isn't her official look, I just tossed some things on her quick because I was losing daylight. Her resin is a lovely, slightly olive-toned brown.
Actually, when I first opened her box, my reaction was, "wow, is she going to be even darker than I thought?" but no, when I got her into a better-lit room, she looks pretty close to the promos. I feel like they upped the saturation on those a bit, though.

@Ashemanu - Oh, that's interesting. I have Yvonne and I didn't have this much trouble with her. I think it may be down to the strength of the magnets, but I'm not sure. Or maybe it's her attitude.

 

@Sianserais She is stunning! Looks much better than on the promo pictures, and she did look already good on them. Lovely face up!

@Ashemanu - Yes, they did a lovely job on the faceup, as usual. The tattoo isn't perfect, but it's certainly better than I could do!

@susieagent99 - Not so far, though I was very tempted by Lesley. I finally told myself she looked enough like a more cheerful Nadia that I didn't need her. I also like Daniel and Isabelle, but without a plan for either, I should probably pass.

Haha you've doomed me! I saw the new SD Agnes and was really tempted but I wanted to see if anyone had any non-company faceups I could see and she's GORGEOUS ;_;

I was watching the new Agnes release..I really like this sculpt, but was trying to stay away from the SD dolls for awhile. However I love the soft look of the new limited Agnes.

Can I just live my life buying all the dolls I love?????

@Frillseeker I guess someone really has to like the body, and lots of patience and money - or talent - to find clothes for them. Especially pants and such. So no, I think they are not that easy to resell.

 

Well I think I am biased as the Sartoria curvy body is really the only SD girl body that I own and play with the most. I like the hips and the curvy aspect. Most of the time my girls are standing so I'm not much of a *poser*. I do wish the arms would hold bend poses better though. I haven't, but will need to suede the joints on my girls to see if I can improve that aspect. Just haven't had the time to do so yet. As for resale value, I totally do not know. To me the Yu sculpt is desirable. I would love to own one but it's not in the finances right now.

 

I love the Sartoria bodies, but I'm also having to wait on finances. So i think it's more widespread where the market is there but just holding back on buying right now.

 

@Frillseeker I do agree on having variety on the collection. Hence why the next one (when I can) I order will be the newer slim body. I have 2 peach creams, 1 amber beige and a grey tone in the curvy body. So it's time to think about variety. However, if they keep releasing amazing sculpts and fullsets....I'm probably hooped....
