Sartoria J Design Group - Part 2

They are similar at least the model EID body is. My heads that fit on the EID body look good on the SJ body. But I think the SJ body is a much better poser and I personally like the aesthetic better. I am sick but when I'm better, I could take photos.

 

@Ara - The SJ body is similar to the Iple Model body...but more lean...like a swimmer.

 

So far I've left them dangling. But other have restrung them, yes.

 

Yes, I believe you could restring the 71cm body...

Here's a quickie photo of it...He has more of a swimmer's build than the Iplehouse EID Model body, I believe.

FYI, the legs on my 71 Jarrad are very loose, but someone in DoA advised me to live with it for awhile. I will! I am not very good at posing him, but I am more interested in costuming than posing. I am really happy with the Sartoriaj sculpts.

Speaking of, here is Lobelia in teal. She is just so beautiful! I'm excited about their sale, can't wait to choose a few new companions.

@Frillseeker Thank you! Warm Ivory looks so very white on their webpage, while the skintone on your pictures looks much darker. I wonder how their peach cream really looks - I am a bit afraid to order that tone and then it turns out too orange, like I felt about the Iple peach skintone.

She photographed warm. Actually, she is very white. In fact, I thought she was a mermaid and fooled us all! I did not get the elf ears, I’m not fond of that look. But this skin tone is definitely otherworldly. My new Eleanor will be in peach cream, so we’ll see what that looks like. I really like the dark tones, too. They just cost so much more.

 

Does anyone know the wait average on these dolls? They’re stunning.

 

I have Yvonne in their new peach cream. I was afraid of this skin tone because it had 'peach' in the title.....but I actually really like her colour. I would probably never order the warm ivory now as I'm not currently a fan of very pale dolls (but of course that could change...), and for me the peach cream is satisfying as a skin tone.

My Jude in Expresso brown arrived. I named him Thunderheart.





@Ara, as others have stated, he compares to a EID model body and for sure yes, a swimmer's body is a good description. As for the legs, I'm grateful to say that mine seem to be okay. He's not loose. I expected him to be loose and to buckle, but nope.

 

@Ashemanu I was flipping through the Sartoria mini doll thread and saw that you had ordered her. I hope you like her! I totally think my Yvonne is the most beautiful doll in the world!!!

I guess I would say it depends if you use layaway or not. And covid-19 has really made a difference in waiting time as well. I would say it can take from 2-6 months before I would expect anything to remotely ship once you have placed an order. You also need to factor in wether you have custom face up, bought the outfit or what not. So everybody's time can differ according to what they have ordered and whether they paid it in full in that moment.

 

I would definitely compare him more to the Supiadoll Original tan color of having an orangy undertone to his skin.


If you are thinking that he's close to iplehouse lt brown or dark brown, you would be completely mistaken.




I find he doesn't quite fit in with that kind of shade at all. It's my opinion and to borrow a friend's words, "they don't meld well together."

I mean no offense towards SartoriaJ lighting skill on their promo shots, but they do not show what the skin tones really are like and I would suggest to people to be prepared for that so they are not surprised by the skin tone like I was, when they get their dolls. In the promo shot he did not have this color of shade.

 

Does anyone have a doll in the Amber Beige colour?
I would really like to buy a doll in that colour but their pictures aren’t really the best at showing the true colour of the resin.

 

@Kaname Kimura - Amber Beige is close to Iple RS...IMO.

the majority of my crew are lt browns and he doesn't fit in with them. If I had known or had an inkling of the true shade of this color, I would have gotten him in Amber beige instead because I have never been fond of that supia orangy brown color. And yes, I have to say that it does look like a version of spray tan. I had to change his whole character around to something that would work with how he in reality is. And now he's become a Golden with bronze tint color Dragon, reason why he has that sheen when in his humanoid form. I renamed him Xiuhcoatl or Xi for short. An Ancient Mayan Warrior. A loner. Some times you got to roll the best that you can with what life throws at you. I had no choice, it was that or sell him. And I hate dealing with what goes with selling. Now buying, now that's a whole different story. LOL

He is a beautiful sculpt and with the color tone down, he would have been perfect. II called this one "Xi in the shadows"
(color manipulated to a brown I would have loved to see him as)

I have the old formula and it was very nice. I really liked it. Luluna has shared hers in new formula and it looks very nice from her pictures. So you should be happy with that color I believe.

@Bren I am so glad that the colour so close to iplehouse’s real skin as it is one of my favourite skin tones of theirs.

 

I don't know how close the new formula is to the Iplehouse RS, since I have the old heads that seem to match the French resin RS better. So if you are trying to match older Heads I can't guarantee anything. Jay told me when I asked about an older Peach cream Jude head, that the old formula would not match any of the new formula. (which bummed me out) But if you are looking to get a full/completed doll then I think Amber beige will be one that appears closer to RS. I don't want to mislead you and have you be disappointed.

the area where the s hook goes it looks like a normal one with 3 slots to change the angle of the head. Whether or not it works with the HID more muscular and thicker neck. I don't know, I haven't tried that. Even iple other EID heads may or may not work with it. It guess it depends on your taste. Some sit on top of the neck while others it's a lot more obvious from what I've seen.

 

And my 51cm Jude arrived yesterday... Again in Amber Beige resin.

I was surprised to see that the head did fit the HID body. I didn't think it would. It actually seemed to covered the neck all around compared to other heads.

The good news is that my Jude (XI) legs do not hang like other reported. So when I checked, it looks like they strung him up thru the torso down to the legs. So he can be strung up the usual way. So his legs do not hang. I don't know if it was a fluke where someone did it the usual way, or SartoriaJ has changed it to stop them from hanging. So there you go guys. That can be fixed if you want.

I'm sorry. There's no link I deleted them. I hate seeing those two resins together like that, it really bothers me and I would not want my Xi character to be represented like that. I only did it to show Khlovera, but it wasn't something I wanted or planned to keep here forever. Perhaps it would have been wiser to have just pmed her. It's my bad and for that I apologize. I will go and edit completely my post.

Oh dear. Dominic is another great sculpt, and I'm loving the details on that armor set! Don't know what I would do with him, though.

 

He's a work of art and the armor and outfit is amazing. They are so good! Luckily for my wallet, he's not Asian so I won't get him. But wow! Can't wait to see owner pics here!

 

Dominic looks much better with faceup than the blank photos I saw on instagram. That wig is so fun. Somehow, the elf head looks even more like Mads than the normal??

Might be my favorite full set of the year, love the hair, the armor, and the clothes.

Dominic’s full set is amazing! The elf sculpt is a cutie too. Everything is just dead perfect!

 

He does looks a little like Mads (though not as much as a bunch of Granado sculpts imo). I love, love, love his armour set!

 

Maybe I'm a little crazy but when I see Dominic, I get the Jeremy Irons Vibes (when younger) when I see the face up but for sure Mads as a blank sculpt. So strange.

That armor set is to die for. My Xi Dragon is clamoring for me to buy it. I tell the bum to go and get a job and buy it himself.

 

Yes, I thought he looked like Jeremy Irons! I'm still waffling at that fullset cost, but I do love that armor. The detailing is beautiful.

Don't feel silly. At first I too wondered who they were talking about and then it hit me. Mads Mikkelsen. He is the guy who is taking over the role from Johnny Depp in Fantastic Beast franchise. He's been in many other movies as well.


Yeah. That armor is beautifully detailed. I want at least something of it.

 

I suppose he's most well known for playing Hannibal Lecter in the TV series from a few years back. He's got cheekbones sharp enough to cut metal.
