Resinsoul Waiting Room v.6

Just got a shipping notification from DHL about a package coming from Hong Kong. Considering I don't have any other packages coming from China...I'm pretty sure it's my Resinsoul body. Estimated to arrive on Dec 9. Since I ordered on Sept 28, that's pretty dang fast!

 

Just got my shipping notification from DDE! I placed my order June 17th and had started thinking I might not meet my doll until the new year I guess with Canada Post that's still entirely possible. Will update when I receive her!

 

Welp. I was bad.
I have a floating head in need of a body. After a rotten couple of weeks (personal stuff), I splurged on a new Resinsoul 60 cm body. The pictures are gorgeous, and I can't wait to see it in person!

 

I'm so excited about that new Cen body! Also while waiting I snagged a secondhand green Ju.

 

Any chance we could ask some of the folks on the wait-list to update? I suspect they've probably received their dolls, and they just haven't updated the wiki.

 

It's a;ways helpful when people update.

 

Update! After over a month, my Rong body has made it to Canada from Colorado. I haven't had time to open the box yet, but she's here!

 

Still waiting on my september order for my 72cm body. His head, shoes, and clothes all arrived and now im just anxiously waiting for it to arrive so Tartarus can be all put together. I hope he comes this month.

 

I'm still waiting on my custom Cen as well. They told me he would be done after the new years though so I'm hoping that means this month. Also I finally found an owner photo of a Cen! There's one on IG under the #resinsoulcen tag!

 

Okay, maybe I'm stalking the Resinsoul website too much But they have another new doll, a little flame person! Maybe I will order one with my next order, they are kinda cute

 

OH MY GOSH. They're adorable!!! I was saving my money for another artist preorder, but I might have to make my planned order now and scoop up the little darling.

I'm happy that they've managed to get the hang of a bright red resin! I really wish I had been able to get my Heng in that color, but I love him how he is so he's staying haha.

I ended up ordering a Flame blank, in white skin... And some grey cat ears for one of the girls.

 

I had a hard time deciding on color, but that red is just spectacular, and I had already started imagining what colors to paint it, so I just had to! I wish I also could have gotten a little white one to make into an icy twin~

Totally forgot to update, but I ordered some jointed hands for my ResinSoul Yi body on February 12. They said it would take roughly 50 days - super excited for my boy to get some fancy hands!

 

@Revenais You'll have to tell us how they are! I want to order some for my Heng, but I haven't seen any reviews for the larger guy hands.

My husband talked me out of getting Flame, but I just ordered my Rui on the Long body in special colors (black and purple marble!!). He's a wizard and is a huge pain in the butt. He'll be lovely, and I'll have to sew him all sorts of fancy robes.

I also got a green Sui body for an off-topic head. She's a Dragonborn warrior and the Sui body will be perfection, since I didn't want her to have breasts and I can change her genitals if I feel the need. Her head is 3D printed resin and should be here next month, but I'll have to wait until the body arrives to color match.

This is my seemingly yearly tax refund fueled Resinsoul order. I already know what I'm getting next year! (Four armed weird colored body for another one of my wizards and a slew of jointed hands.)

 

Still no 72cm body. I feel like maybe i should email DDE for an update? IDK i dont like imposing or seeming like one of those really impatient buyers. Maybe i should wait a few more days into march to inquire.

 

DDE orders take a lot longer than ordering direct. Found out that the hard way.

 

@Bristol oh i knew that, but my Yao came in the projected time frame given by DDE. MY 72cm doll is beyond that currently. Not by a lot, but it is.

 

I really don't recommend ordering Resinsoul via DDE unless you buy their in stock. It's worth the $20 more to pay Resinsoul to ship directly to you.
My reference for that is I ordered a RS Nian via DDE in normal for all parts (so no customization whatsoever) about a year ago, and shipping was around $25 from DDE. Nian took almost 6 months and even arrived missing a piece that I had to wait another month for. I don't believe DDE checked him over before shipping to me. Plus he was shoved fully strung and awkwardly positioned in a msd sized Bobobie box (so a centaur in a long slim box) and did not come with a COA. The packaging and lack of COA alone is enough for me to not want to order through DDE again. And I feel very lucky that he didn't arrive damaged with that packaging.
But then I ordered a custom Cen in black resin and with modified ears direct from the company, along with custom hands and feet, plus some friends hopped on my order to get more custom hands and a pair of cat ears. Shipping for all of this was $46. Was ordered 10/29/2021 and arrived exactly 5 months later on 3/1/22 today! He arrived safely in an SD sized zippered carrying case and with COA.

And this is also me saying that my Cen arrived. I already posted him in the large discussion.

 

The biggest problem with pre-ordering through a dealer is that dealers generally have to wait until they have a certain value amount before they can place an order with a doll company. So if you order, say, a $300 doll, but the dealer has a $2,000 order minimum, you have to wait for the dealer to get enough orders to reach $2,000 before your order even gets put in.
The other problem (learned this through ordering from Dream Valley) is that Chinese doll companies generally don't ship individual orders to dealers - they wait until they have a sizeable shipment, and then they'll bulk-ship a bunch of items at once. And the further inland a Chinese doll company is, the more likely that they'll have to use transporters, who are a bit notorious for taking all of the dolls out of their individual boxes, shoving them all in one big box, and then sending it on to the dealer (cuz it's cheaper). So the dealer might get a huge shipment of dolls, but they're all crammed in one box. Sounds like DDE just puts the doll in whatever they have on hand. I know other companies will buy a new box. (Some doll companies will ship dealer orders directly to customers, but most don't.)
So if you order through a dealer, you're looking at two wait times: 1. waiting for the dealer to reach their order quota, and 2. waiting for the company to have enough orders to send to the dealer.
Since Alice's Collections is in China, they can bypass both of these wait times for Chinese dolls.
I noticed that Doll Peddlar is no longer accepting preorders for any company but Lati Doll on their website, and due to lag times thanks to the pandemic, and the numerous charge-backs they talk about on their website, I'm worried about how many US-based BJD dealers are going to stay around...

 

wow it seems like I made a big mistake ordering through them. I hope nothing goes wrong. =X Lesson learned, never again will I order a made-to-order resinsoul from DDE.

 

Did it end up being your Resinsoul order? I just got a notification from DHL for Hong Kong, but, uh - let's just say I have several orders outstanding.

 

Just purchased an in-stock Xun from DenverDoll last night. Kinda excited to have an MSD again after all these years. I have an old (defunct) MSD from DF-A currently but I can't do much with her as her mobility is extremely lacking. Bought Xun mainly because she was in-stock and for photography practice.

 

Okay here is something interesting I noticed on the Denverdoll sight, apparently the MSD and SD girl dolls have the same neck sizes. Example a Rong head can fit on the body used for Su.. Is that because the default SD body just has longer legs?

 

I've got a 60cm body I hope is on the way, and I have an older MSD body. I'll let you know when I have both of them and take some comparison pictures.

I have an older Bobobie MSD or 1/4 scale body, and I can tell you that the neck sizes are NOT the same - the SD or 1/3 scale is much bigger. However, I ordered the new 60 cm body. It is very slender, though. I currently have it dressed in Raccoondoll 1/4 scale clothing (the glamorous or curvy body jeans). She looks like she's wearing high-water waders, but they fit very snugly over her bum (think SmartDoll snug - you've got to do the thing where you lie on the bed and suck in your stomach to get them on).
Just tried a 1/3 or SD Eva Louise head from Dollmore on the body. It's absolutely perfect.
There will be pictures. I promise. Just - haven't gotten to them yet. Sorry, y'all. I'm lazy after work.

 

I can confirm that the thin 60cm body can wear smart doll clothes easy~ I also have a Dollmore Bella Auden on it~ My girl is a tree, so the look works for me. I also plan to get another for my Cerisedolls/Lillycat Lyse head.

While I have not attempted to compare the necks of my 1/4 bodies to this one, I'm certain they are not very close.

Now, some of the 1/4 heads are actually sculpted on the large size, and would potentially look better on the 60cm. I only have a Ju that I could try, but I can attempt to show this when I get home~

 

My Xun arrived yesterday but I had to restring her this morning before posting her.

 

I'm almost a month into waiting and I'm practically vibrating out of my chair because I'm so excited for my Rui! I really want to see that marble/vitiligo resin! I haven't been this pumped for a doll in a long time.

I need to get/make him some pants or a robe or something. Bottoms and spare clothes in general are in very short supply in this house.

And my Sui body is going to have a dress that I hope is going to fit. It's pretty loose and easy to gather, so it should hopefully work out. She'll need a vest and accessories, but at least no shameful nudity. I'm grateful that it's a body that won't need shoes though. Too many barefoot paupers on my shelf already!

Hey, are you guys receiving messages from Resin Soul by email? I am trying to talk with them but none of the emails I tried have answers.

 

ResinSoul is in China, I think in Shanghai? They have a nasty lock down going on. This might be why?

 

According to their website they are in Shenzhen. Shenzhen is close to Hongkong, it's a 15h car ride to Shanghai so it might be a proxy or email issue

I just got a notification from DHL that a package is arriving, it has to be my Rui!!!! I'm so excited, and it was the first message I got when I turned airplane mode off my phone when I landed haha. A great homecoming!!!

He's supposed to be here by the 31st, but will be delivered to my parents (porch pirates at my complex) so I won't be able to get him until probably the next day or two which is going to be AGONIZING.

EDIT 5/30 He's been delivered, and maybe I'll be able to grab him tomorrow, but probably not until Saturday.

I bought an in-stock Ya in dark tan from DDE, to give me something to look forward to in the immediate future since today was pretty damn terrible in the US. I had a Mei more than 10 years ago but sold her bc her long elf ears weren't my thing, and ever since Ya was released not long after she's been on my list... it'll be nice to welcome her back home! No clue what to name her yet but I'm just looking forward to seeing her cute little face

 

My Ya is here! She's gorgeous, I love her so much, just looking at her makes me happy. She's just what I needed!! I'll be posting her box opening sometime today or tomorrow I think, I'm so glad I ordered her in dark tan!

 

Just ordered a custom blue Xun from Resinsoul! They gave me an estimate of about 2 months, I’m so excited! Going to have to get knowledgeable about face-ups before then, but now I can prep and order her some clothes as a welcome home gift!

I just ordered a sky blue Bobobie Ariel head on a Resinsoul Rong body directly from Resinsoul and I couldn't be more excited I'm just waiting on Sun to send the order confirmation over to me (I've already sent the funds!) and we'll be good to go! Sun said that she should be ready in about 50 days!

I've wanted an Ariel from the first time I set eyes on BJDs as a concept when I accidentally stumbled across The Junky Spot's Facebook page, and she's finally coming home to me! It's basically going to be the longest 50 days ever, haha!

 

I ordered a RS body from DDE back in June (so 3 months ago), and it still remains in "processing." Has anyone ordered from DDE this year and knows how fast their orders are going in? I know RS works fast, but I've never ordered through DDE before.

 

From what I’ve read, it takes longer with DDE because they put in orders for multiple dolls from RS, so they have to wait for multiple dolls to be made before RS can ship them all over to DDE.

 

I've been waiting 5ish months for a batch of jointed hands through DDE, and that's pretty normal unfortunately. I knew this going in though, and did it to take advantage of layaway.

 

Just put in an order for a White Skin Li with a faceup through the RS website.

 

Well, after seeing several pictures of Resinsoul face-ups so good that I barely recognized them (thought they were Minifees for a second), I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a doll I've been pining after for a while: a Ya head on a Shi body. @Mamo's box opening just made me even more excited.
Can't believe how easy it was. I sent an email and got a response back within... an hour? Helps that I have insomnia, lol.
I'm super excited for Ya to join my little RS collection (Mi head, Mei head, and a 60 cm body that I'm still deciding on which head will be perfect for it). I'm really looking forward to seeing the new MSD body, too!

I feel like I should get more feet. Resinsoul feet fit all the "standard" size doll shoes.

I'm working backwards, lol. I started with the more expensive dolls; now I've discovered the "budget" lines (Resinsoul, Doll Leaves), and I'm kicking myself for not trying them sooner.

Anyway, my first doll is on the way. It's a Mei head with a Rong body and I'm so excited for when she gets here!

She will probably be caught up in the Christmas postal rush, so that's fun...

Although if shipping from China to Norway takes longer than I think, maybe she won't?
If there are no delays the doll will be ready to ship around 12. december.

 

Looks like I'm getting my first horse based centaur doll (I have a wolf-taur from another company, so I guess he kinda counts as a centaur), decided to order Daytime! I love his unusual teeth and horns, he's gorgeous! I was really hoping Resinsoul would release centaur gentlemen.

 

I got a Daytime too! Those tusks are the cutest and the horns just bring it all together. I also have an RS Miao on layaway from DDE.

 

I ordered a Daytime that I'm splitting with @purple_monkfish - hopefully Resinsoul will cast the head in light tan resin (added notes to the order and sent an email, but haven't received a response). I paid for the brown special color, so maybe they don't want more money? I certainly offered...

Now I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with the top part of the torso (I don't collect boys), cuz @purple_monkfish doesn't want it. I plan to frankendoll Daytime by putting a female bust on top. Or maybe I'll just put some boobs on top of the pecs, lol.

 

Just ordered a Sprite in normal skin from Denver doll, since they're having a Thanksgiving special right now. Super excited for my girl to be here.

She's going to be an early Christmas present to myself.

 

Joining the Resinsoul waiting room, as they're going to make the perfect body for the IOS skull that I ordered. 45 cm boy body, shaved down neck for a better fit, Ming legs, in a custom purple. I'm very excited to get him and start painting him. estimate I got this morning is 50 days out, so between this, my Luts order, and my IOS head, Jan/Feb is going to be exciting.

 

Just got my shipping notice! That's a turn around of about a month and a half (or six weeks) which is incredible.

 

I think my centaur might have shipped? I got a message from fedex warning me about a delivery next week, and I don't know what it could be except for that
