Oh, it's more than 5 weeks passed after I ordered my black Ming can't wait to finally see him

 

I'm starting to worry about my Mi. It's been 9 days since she was shipped and tracking hasn't updated since the first day. She hasn't even hit customs. ResinSoul says dolls usually arrive in 4-7 days. I hope she's ok...I may go ask my post office tomorrow to put a trace on her.

I also bought a Mei from DDE on Friday and she's scheduled to arrive home tomorrow! (Though I really just want her body).

 

Yay!!! I should be getting my dragon and Ai tomorrow!

Still no update on my Mi. :/ It's been 11 days now since she shipped.

 

Thanks I'm very excited to see their green skin I'm happy you're getting your Mei as well today! as for your Mi, I hope she gets there soon maybe customs is taking longer, or the post office won't update the trackimg until it reaches your city that happened to me with my centaur

 

I'm excited to see the green skin too! It's such a pretty color. I don't do fantasy colors usually, but that green is so gorgeous, I'm tempted to give in!

I don't know what the problem is, since I contacted Sun and was told it usually takes 4-7 days, and I've attempted to get answers through USPS but got no help at all. Her status still says 'origin post preparing shipment' as it has for the past 11 days. I've been having a lot of problems with getting my mail lately and I have no idea why. I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow so I'm just hoping my post office has her when I return.

I added myself to the waitlist, because it's driving me crazy always having to sort out where I am. XD But I ordered a custom color based on a headcap, and although I paid on the 5th, my sample arrived on the 13th. I really hope my boy is shipped soon! ...And also that they remember to give me back my boy's headcap. >_>

 

Angelesque's order still hasn't come. I admit, it puts me off ordering from her with other dolls. RS have been pretty prompt at shipping direct to me and without customs charges, waiting 4 months for a rs is taking the micky a bit.
This was a january 3rd order and still no word!
I mean come on!
I told husband he should order direct but for whatever reason he wanted to go via dealer. Lesson learned, always order direct. *sigh*

 

I'm in an order from with her too (from February), I'm ordering from her since 2011, normally it's really nice to order through her. But some last orders are taking really long to arrive... she said on Facebook that RS has been shipped but never said anything about an arrival. Maybe she just paid the customs like she did with her DZ order and let all the stuff wait until Easter is over ... at least I hope so. I would love to have that body soon.

 

Yeah it's frustrating though. I ordered my boy direct a month after husband and he arrived last month. Like 3 weeks ago. So it's getting a bit ridiculous now. I think it's a combination of issues. 1: RS had a huuuuuge delay for dec/jan orders anyway and then 2: because dealers order in bulk, it's a big order to fill too which slows stuff down. they have to get all the dolls finished before they post. Then customs grabs it and that delays it.
I feel for Carol because she's got a lot of people nagging her, but at the same time it's frustrating to be still waiting. Poor husband, i feel sorry for him because he ordered a hujoo in december and they screwed up royally, after waiting nearly 3 months they finally sent the order and forgot the ONE thing he'd ordered in it *headdesk* so he cancelled that.
And now we're waiting on his RS Mei and a Luts, and the rs is taking foreeeeever too. He's worried she'll get the order in and his doll won't be included because at this point, that seems to be his luck.
So I feel bad for him. I wanted his first bjd to be a pleasant experience but woooo eee has it been anything but.
I really hope that dang doll gets here in one piece.

I was super hoping that my body would show up early for the Chicago meet here soon, but unless he shows up tomorrow, he won't be here in time. Oh well! It's not like he'd be ready for it anyway, his head still needs a faceup.

 

Good news! After 21 days of "pre-shipment on" and being told by my PO to prepare to file an insurance claim because she's probably lost, my Mi has shown up in Louisville! She should be home tomorrow.

 

Angelesque's jan and part of feb orders appear to have arrived. Husband's grey mei is FINALLY on her way. After 3 agonizing months, nearly 4 in fact. She was ordered Jan 4th.
Rather ridiculous wait time for a RS. I'm not very impressed about how long this has taken. She better be bloody perfect -_-

They're now back to quoting 40 days for their shipments so i'm hoping that means they're all caught up but yeesh, that kind of wait just isn't what you expect from these guys. RS are usually really quick, one of the faster and more on the ball companies. Does this sort of mess happen every year around dec/jan time or was this year just particularly terrible?

She is home!! I hadn't preordered a ResinSoul doll in years, nor have I owned one of the newer bodies, so let me say I was very pleasantly surprised!!

When I got the box, it was rattling, which really scared me. Turned out to be the zippers on the carry bag that I had no idea I would be receiving. XD her hands were packed separately, and that surprised me because I assumed that meant she'd be unstrung--nope! S-hooks sitting nicely in her strung wrists. I've only known Volks, April Story and Popodoll to be able to do that! And the posing---wow!! Like I said, I hadn't bought a new body or ordered new in years, and she's the first RS I've ever owned who could stand right out of the box AND touch her face gracefully! I had extra string here, but I think I'm not going to need it. I will restring her because I want to body blush her and I don't like the knots in her head, but I'm going to keep her original string and save the extra for another doll. Even her resin feels a lot nicer than the RS dolls I bought many years ago and I love that! I'm so happy I took a chance on her.


Sorry for my wall of text, I'm just really excited right now. Though I'm afraid this experience means I'm going to end up back in this waiting room again before long. XD

I don't understand the wiki btw, but then, i don't like change. It messes with my groove.
So... we can just chatter here about the wait?

 

The idea with having the waiting lists on the Wiki is mainly because there's no character limit, which has been an issue in many Waiting Rooms due to a lot of orders and long waiting times (leaving the orders on the list for a very long time). Plus, the Wiki is really easy to use, once you've got the hang of it Don't be afraid to jump in, edit and try out - just click preview instead of save, to try things out and how they look!

 

So to confirm, we're allowed to just chatter here about the agony of waiting and our plans then?
That'll be nice.

And don't worry, my atypical little brain just doesn't like change so it takes me a while to adjust again. I get super upset whenever a site changes their layout because I have to relearn everything. Most people have no problem, but that's because they're normal hah.

 

@purple_monkfish That's right! I changed the name of the tab, I saw I'd named it "waiting room" which probably made things more difficult than it should. It's now simply waiting list, which is all it is. The waiting itself and planning and excitement and agony is still supposed to be shared with here

I bit the bullet and ordered two dolls.

Nobody has gotten March dolls yet, huh? Sun told me at the beginning of April that my waiting time was gonna be increased by 10 more days. Since I ordered on March 8th, and she/he/they initially told me a month wait, I assumed I would get a shipping notice on or about the 18th of April. And here it is 10 days past that and still haven't heard anything. I haven't emailed again as I don't want to be a bother. But I wonder what's got them falling behind on their usual waiting times.

 

My first doll ordered back in november was "a month" quote but the other two have been "40 days".
however, that doesn't mean they only take that long.
My November order which was "a month" took until december 28th to arrive. Which was uh.. 45 days from order placed. He was shipped from their factory on the 22nd which is 39 days so excluding postage time, which is out of their control, they were a good week over their estimate even back in november.

I actually suspect this is why they started quoting "40" instead of "a month".
Then dec/jan/feb had some big glut of orders, christmas, new year and chinese new year breaks which delayed stuff even more.

Husband ordered a doll on Jan 3rd, she didn't arrive in the UK till April 15th! That's an absolutely whopping wait of 102 days!!! And then an added week on top for the dealer having to sort stuff and an easter break. SUCH a long wait omg. And really unusual for RS, but looks like all the Jan orders and a good chunk of feb orders were dispatched at the same time. There are still people waiting for a late feb order through Angelesque, the UK dealer.

Meanwhile, I ordered a doll on Feb 2nd and was quoted "40 days". He arrived March 27th. That's 52 days. He actually dispatched from them on the 22nd so 47? days. Still about a week over their estimate.

So, from this and other people's previous orders, I think that the febuary/March orders SHOULD be running as normal at a wait of about 45 days from order to dispatch.

I paid for another order yesterday and again have been told "40 days" so i'm anticipating 45-50 days till dispatch and another 6 or 7 to get to the UK and clear customs etc. That means an arrival of some time in mid June.

RS are absolutely rubbish at getting dispatch notices out, often they will send something and not even bother to email to tell you. So definitely shoot them a little quick email and Sun should respond to say it's either been shipped or is about to be shipped. Every time i've hit the 40 day mark I email and usually get told "dispatching in the next few days!" and sure enough, it does. I think sometimes you just need to remind them.

You're at a wait currently of about 52 days, so i'd expect to see it dispatched and almost to you by this point. Maybe it'll come next week? I hope anyway. It's not uncommon for people to get dolls just showing up without warning.

 

Okay going down the list:

December:

61 days
33!?? days (I had to go dig through posts to find these dates but yeah... what?) This one is a doll called "Nova" and yeah, she was super fast to be made.

Jan orders:

60 days

The direct from RS orders were longer than usual, but nothing on Husband's wait. Something went really wrong with that group order, it was via a dealer and I think that caused most of the delay. They were running at half speed and had a lot of dolls to make for one order, and that lead to a wait of over 100 days. Yeesh. I think the moral there is don't order from a dealer unless you're really willing to wait forever huh?

Anyway,

Feb orders:

mine on the 2nd took 47 days to dispatch.
4th took 35 days
then it goes up again. 65 days
44 days
then no dispatch notice but a wait door to door of 52 days
40 days

March orders:

None of the direct orders appear to have come in yet. Earliest orders are the 1st, so they've been waiting 59 days already!
Unless those users simply haven't updated their wait list. Some people don't, just look back at the July orders.

We can exclude any Denver Doll or Junky Spot orders as they only seem to sell "in stock" items so there's no production time.

I would expect the March orders to be coming in by now.

April orders:

@purple_monkfish DenverDoll does pre-order items just like many dealer's do. I'm not on the waitlist because I only ordered hands, but they were ordered on my behalf through DD to RS, not as an in stock item. Just FYI :B
(on that record, I ordered March 22 through DD and haven't heard that RS has even shipped to DD yet, but I wasn't expecting them to either. DD's estimate was 10 weeks).

 

Ahh cool. Junkyspot used to I think order in stuff but they don't any more for.. some reason.
Even so, most people seem to order in stock stuff through the US side dealers, heh.

It makes me sad but at the same time my wallet is relieved the UK dealers get so little "in stock" items because oh man.. the impulse buying temptation would be so high.

 

@purple_monkfish thanks for the reply and all of the info! I guess once they fall a little behind it's difficult to catch back up. The wait time doesn't really bother me...I've ordered from Doll Chateau before, so even if it took 2 months, that would seem stunningly fast.

I just realized it was a bit out of their norm based on what I always heard. Anyway, I'll be sure to update once my girl does come in. I'll be sending her out for a face up immediately though, as I always do cause I can't paint, haha.

 

Fingers crossed she shows up next week out of the blue!

I like the estimation of days here, so much handier to find out how long the wait really is. I'm super expecting mine to show up any day now, despite not counting days. XD

 

hahah no worries. I thought days might be more useful to those of us who's brains don't work so well in terms of months and working out the bizzaro US date system messes with my dyspraxic brain SO BAD anyway.

Personally I like to work out how long something will take by counting the days when I order and then just filing away "some time in this month". Makes the wait a little easier to know my next order is "due in June" because 40-60 days doesn't mean much to me. But knowing "Mid June" means more.
It feels a bit more manageable for some reason.

That said, i'm already pining doh.
Names have popped into my head, backstories are coalescing and the yosd doll has pretty much developed. I just need to decide on a wig colour for the msd boy. I know the sort of style I want, just can't pick a colour. *headdesk*

 

I did email sun later on to see what was what and so far I haven't heard anything. So *shrugs* we will see. I do have access to my usps which will tell you when things are being shipped to your house regardless of you entering in a tracking number ( my roomies internet purchases always show up on my dashboard) so I think I'll see her on there if she's incoming.

 

Well, what do you know. Sun said my order was shipped! Yay my big girl will be here soon!

No, just that she shipped. I added the tracking number into my dashboard bc it hadn't shown up yet and I says she was shipped on the 27th. As of April 30th it was processed in the New York facility and it has to go through customs I gather, which is usually quick. So I think she'll be here by the end of the week.

I just realized that she has a skirt, eyes, and wig, but no shirt or shoes. I'm usually so prepared idk how I managed to forget to have a full outfit ready. I'm gonna look around for anyone lookin to thin their dolly closets for cheap on Instagram.

 

I'll update the wiki list later, but my body showed up today out of the blue! Hoboy is their color matching service good, they got the tan of my Nanuri head dead on! Now I've got to figure out eyes and a makeshift neck connector for him.

 

Tracking updated and she is in the next town over, which means she should be arriving tomorrow. I'm so excited!!

I got a better look at my boy while trying to pull the s-hook out enough to try the head on. The resin is a bit redder than the head, but I can super live with that because finally near matching body. It's just he is SO TIGHT. I put the head on with a neck adapter to finagle the s-hook in the Feeple60 head, and I don't know if I can get the head back off now. And I needed two sets of hemostats to put the hands on. Someone at Resinsoul is probably a masochist who likes to tear their hands up getting dolls together, they have to be, holy smacks.

 

Oh dear. Good thing I've got access to tools like that, because I definitely told them to send her without her hands on cause I was so afraid of her arriving with broken fingers.

 

My Jun arrived home yesterday! I ordered him on 3/10 and he shipped 4/27. A bit longer than the month they quoted me, but still pretty darn fast! He's beautiful. I love the blue resin. Totally perfect, I'm thrilled! I'll go update the wiki.

Ok for heads, I find that if I loop a bit of stringing elastic (I have spare) around the hook and yank it up that gives me the right leverage. Otherwise you just tear your hand up trying to keep a grip on that hook.
I can't pull the hooks up without a piece of elastic or ribbon around the hook, I don't have the strength.

Great news on the colour matching! I was super impressed with how close to my pantone swatch they got my Jun, I was worried he'd be too blue or too grey but he's exactly the shade of aqua I wanted. (he's a water elemental, he had to be aqua because colour puns! lol)

 

She's here! Do I post pics in here or the other thread? That one seems kind of dead, lol.

 

Homan, I was using a shoelace to pull the s-hook out. I would have gotten no where using just my hands. D: I don't know what I'll be using without that shoelace after I'm forced to use it to replace the lace in my shoes. XD
I think just one picture here would be ok, otherwise you'd need to post the rest in a gallery thread of some sort. :3

I had trouble with the bold too. I looked it over and suddenly decided I didn't care enough to figure it out.
But your girl is really pretty! I like the pink colors on her tan skin tone, they look very quiet and nice together.
