My Henry got some upgrades ^_^ I couldn't make the wig I had to look good so I ended up commissioning it to someone with actual talent and it looks exactly how I envisioned it. And he has new eyes too.

I'm so excited, I just ordered my first Raccoon Doll: Elf Lea with the gorgeous limited faceup.

When I wanted to order her earlier today, the discount event for her was already over, I always forget that South Korea's time is ahead of our time in Europe. I was already disappointed with myself that I forgot about that. But then I asked Mr. Choi on Instagram and they were nice enough to activate the event for Elf Lea again, so I could order her with the discount. Such a great customer service!

Anyway, I'm really excited for her, I literally fell in love with her on first sight.

Hi @JinCIncy : def tempted. the elf girl with freckles and teeth looks like my IH Stella (except for the ears)

The little ones are very small, though. I like the more mature body, but maybe too short next to adults to be a 11 or 12 yr old? I have no idea of child heights.

Yeah, I feel like the Girls (the 33 cm ones) are about the right height for an 11 or 12 year old. But of course kids do vary in size!

My Elf Lea was shipped today.
I ordered her with the limited face-up, her dress, wig and a few goodies. So curious for her.

My Elf Lea arrived two days ago. I already consider her my snow queen. I love her beautiful faceup, she looks exactly like on the promo pictures. Such a beautiful doll. I'm really happy with her.

Here is a full shot picture of the dress. It is a really lovely heavy high quality fabric, which can be draped around her nicely.

thank you both, I am glad you like them. The kids have such large eyes that I was wondering if they could work, since Cindy has very small eyes. Morganatron, the tiny one with the green bib overall is Dahlia, the Kid is Sunita in tan, the woman Cindy and the guy is Henry. Sunita is on the kid body no. 1, not the more mature one.

 

They all look so great together!!!

 

How often does Raccoon Doll do major sales like this one? I really want one of their girls, and I'd hate to miss out on the 40% discount, but I don't really feel like I have the funds for her right now. Is there likely to be a similar sale in a year or so?

Edit: To clarify, I could afford her, and I do know that layaway is an option, I'm just not sure I want to use my hobby budget on a new doll. It's the age-old conflict between FOMO and fear of commitment, lol.

 

I will guess at least once per season, but the "what" can change. (Women, minis, girls.) The sale on the guys could be uncommon, though. (Someone correct me on this.)

 

I'll hold off, then.

 

I think they’ve had a lot of sales lately as it’s their anniversary celebration. I don’t think it’s usually this often, or necessarily that big a discount?

Congratulations on your Cindy! I had to take advantage of the sale too. It was difficult to narrow it down but I ordered Annie in the end. That still leaves a few girls on my wish list haha

I was wondering if 8mm eyes could work with these dolls?
I’ve found some really pretty eyes but the smallest they go are 8mm..

 

I use 8mm round eyes with a 3mm iris for my Cindy. They fit pretty well with only a small gap in the eye well.

Hi, I’m very tempted by the sale, Hina is such a pretty sculpt and I have been looking at Raccoon dolls for a long time. But can I ask, please, which do you consider has the better posing - the NP Body_Slim or the Slim body vol.2?

 

I did not like the posing of the slim body version 2. I got Nana on the first version and her mobility thighs work perfectly. the 2nd version was a pain to use them cause it was upside down compared to version 1.

 

The website gives options of NP Body_Slim and Slim body vol.2 … so I went with the NP Body_Slim. Hopefully that’s the good version!?

I'm thinking of buying a racoon doll for a specific character. I'm after a 1/4 girl and I'm after a brown laceup pair of boots just below the knee, but everything I look at is a little too big. Any ideas where I can look? I want them to be doc martin style if possible. Thanks in advance!

 

I just realized I never came back and posted any pictures of my girl once I got her! I'm so glad that RaccoonDoll has been partnering with the barbiefinger (instagram handle) faceup artist because literally anything they paint I want to buy immediately. My kingdom for them collaborating on the boys! Overall, I've been blown away by her. She's sturdy and hardy and posed well right out the box. Her resin has a sort of matte quality that makes it look real in photos rather than shiny.

I'm going to try 8mm eyes with 3mm irises with her because the 6mm were too small but I liked the smaller iris. Wigs have been a little hard to size for her as I feel like she's weirdly between sizes, so most of my favorite pictures I've taken of her have been with a larger wig. As for shoes, these little sneakers were the only ones I could find that fit her weirdly small but wide foot. I'll see if I can find the maker or something when I get back home and have them in front of me!

This may be a long shot, but does anyone own any RingDoll 1/4 boys like Baldwin or Raymond as well that they could do some size comparisons with?

 

Theres quite a lot of info in this thread: /threads/what-fits-raccoon-doll-mature-minis.716031/ but also keep in mind there’s two sizes of flat feet I think? I found Tonner Matt shoes fit well on the original flat feet, and since they’re boy shoes you might find what you want! There’s usually a fair bit on eBay or try Facets By Marcia.

She looks lovely!!! I have a Ringdoll Baldwin on order, but he probably won’t arrive until about January - I’d be happy to post comparison photos when he does though! Just send me a reminder if I forget!!!

I found the flat feet in the parts section, but there's no measurements on them. Any Raccoon experts know the size of these?
Slim Woman Vol.2 & New slim body Flat Feet

 

@candy kitten It looks like the length of the foot is detailed if you click on the dolls...here's a link to Jyoti's page but the Slim Woman Vol. 2 foot size is listed as 4.8cm and then the newer "Natural Pose body" has increased to 5.5cm. My Hina above is on the NP body slim.

@candy kitten Yes that's right - I just double checked one of my recent girls and 5.5cm is her flat foot length Hope you enjoy your Raccoon doll when you get here. They are lovely!
