What Fits Raccoon Doll Mature Minis

Jun 20, 2016

    1. Since the first 44.5cm girls arrived from Korea last year, we've all been aware of how hard it is to buy clothing and shoes for them. Raccoon Doll sells a few items of clothing and shoes. What is available from other sellers? Please use this thread to post your fabulous finds to help us shop for our girls. If you sew, please feel free to post patterns and examples of clothing made from them to help other seamstresses.

Things will get even more interesting once Raccoon releases male dolls in this size. Please post information as it becomes available.

      Thanks!

    2. thanks for this thread @vermont chick! Here is a short list of what I have found fits so far and a few things I remember from previous posts:
Clothes: Iplehouse JID Girl Cinnamon Coat, JID Girl knee high stockings & socks, most JID Girl tops, JID Girl lingerie, JID Boy Jeans
Shoes: Iplehouse JID Girl high heels and boots (large but fits ok with socks or felt insoles)
Wigs: 5/6 Monique Gold, SS 5.7-5.8 For My Doll wigs
Eyes: 8mm Glib low dome Oval Glass Eyes, 6mm Glib low dome Oval Glass Eyes, 8mm Round Glastic Acrylic Eyes

    3. I may as well post a few things that I remember off the top of my head.

Clothes: Sadol Classic (MSD size) and Lolita-pk (MSD size). And because of similar measurements, clothing designed for Luts ModelDelf girls should fit.

Shoes: Fairyland Minifee high heels (expensive but fit perfectly without socks).

      Patterns:
      1. Designs by Jude featuring Fletcher Pattern Company patterns for Super Deluxe DeeAnna. I have used 5 of these: Hollywood Ahoy, Lunch Date, Regency Dress, Urban Beat and Night at the Opera. All needed a bit of tweaking to make them fit, but the DeeAnna Denton doll's measurements are pretty close to Raccoon girl's. I also sewed Dressing Up for Nancy and Hermione with good results. Be aware that we have two body types to choose from (hourglass and slim fit) and that may affect the fit of your garments. Also, our girls are taller than the model dolls used to draft these patterns, which calls for additional adjustments.
      2. Gracefaerie Designs. I have used #14 Mini Wardrobe for Narae and #21 Corset for MSD. Again, patterns work if you are willing to invest the time to make adjustments.

I'll take new photos and post them later.

    4. That is a very good point! Which body were you sewing for?

    5. Let's see if I can remember. I may have to go back and look at photos. I made the Regency Dress for Mika, who has the hourglass figure. The rest of the Designs by Jude patterns were made for Lucy and Gene, who have the slim figure. The sleeveless dress--adapted from the EGL dress in Gracefaerie's #14 Mini Wardrobe for Narae--was intended for Gene (slim) but fits somewhat better on Mika (hourglass). All outfits got plenty of tweaking along the way. The Night at the Opera bodice didn't fit even after tweaking so I substituted the Gracefaerie #21 Corset instead.

Do you happen to know if we are allowed to post multiple photos in a thread of this nature?

    6. Good point about the body types @nancy_schroeder_ca and @vermont chick :). All the clothes listed on my post fit on slim body dolls.
      One more thing to add...
Slim body Undergarments: "1/4 BJD MSD skin color highly protective jumpsuit #sen-63c" made by a company called blueblood doll. It's a tight fit (especially length wise on the legs) and takes some inching and stretching... But it does eventually fit ;).

    7. I finally took a photo of my girls wearing various fashions I sewed from the patterns mentioned above in post #3.
From left to right: Lucy is wearing the Night at the Opera skirt (lengthened through the thighs) with Gracefaerie's #21 Corset. I don't remember what adjustments I made to the corset, except that I used the solid front version that laces up the back. Her wig is a mislabeled FairyLand 6-7, supposedly for LittleFee but much smaller in reality. Mika is wearing the EGL dress from Gracefaerie's #14 Mini Wardrobe for Narae. I omitted the sleeves and any hint of frills or lace. The waist could be a wee bit longer. Her wig is Yuri from Monique Gold. Sarah is wearing the Dressing Up for Nancy and Hermione. I sewed this in a quilter's weight cotton and don't remember making any adjustments to it. @Robyn_in_WA also made this dress but in a lighter weight fabric and had fit issues. Sarah's wig is Shaine from Monique Gold. Finally, Gene is wearing Hollywood Ahoy in a quilter's weight cotton. I had a lot of fit issues with this one, which may be due to my choice of fabric. The top part of the bodice needs to be gathered, but my fabric was too thick to work so I pleated it lightly and removed excess fabric. Gene's wig is Paris from Monique Gold.

A note about the shoes: I found flats that fit! I bought them for my Unoa Chibi, but found they were a bit narrow for her. Happily, narrow on a Chibi turned out to be perfect on a Raccoon girl. (Gene is wearing stockings but Mika and Sarah are not.) The shoes are Bows by DollinStyle. They measure 54mm by 20mm. Denver Doll has only 3 colors left--I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy the others when they still had them. I'm afraid that DDE won't or can't restock, as the two styles that fit Minifee are all but gone and have been for quite a while. I haven't found any other shop that sells them.:(

@Naïka - Thanks for posting the qipao pattern. I haven't downloaded it yet. The host wants to place a tab on my computer and I'm still thinking about whether or not I want to allow that.

      • x 4
    8. That's strange! Maybe I don't get that because I have uploaded a pdf. I have saved the pattern and would be happy to email it to you.

    9. I clicked on PDF Host and that's what happened. If there is any other way to get it I would be thrilled. Can you PM it to me? Or if not I'll PM you my email address. Thanks!

    10. I got the same message that the host wants me to download a new tab and I am not really keen to do that, normally a pdf download is very straightforward.

    11. I don't think DOA will let us attach a PDF. I just tried to open the PDF to check them and got errors on both files. I'll try again.

I tried to open one from the link and got an error again. I think we'll have to wait for Naika.

    12. Greetings to you all !
I asked a moderator if it's possible to add a PDF file to a thread. Answer : " the image codes will only accept jpg, gif or png image files. As long as the PDF file is hosted somewhere, however, you can include a link to it. Alternatively, you can use your image processing software of choice to change its file type to jpg, gif or png, host that file, and then use the IMG insert codes (the little box with the mountain/sun) to include that"
That means I must find a way to convert this file, which I'll eventually manage to do ... Then I'll post it.
@ vermont chick : your four dresses are very well done, and I like very much Sarah's. The flat are quite pretty, too.

    14. @Naïka - Thank you for posting the pattern here. I appreciate that it represents a great deal of work on your part. I will certainly try making a qipao with it.

Also, thank you for liking my dresses and shoes.:)

    15. @ vermont chick. You are welcome ... From what I could see in this thread you are a good seamstress, but if you happen to have a question about this pattern or my explanations, please don't hesitate to ask, you and anybody who wants to try it. As it is, my "red lines" don't show, for some reason, but I think one can work out where they are since they are the bias binded bits.

    16. Naika sent me the file in two formats. The red lines are the edges that are bias bound with no seam allowance. The images above work fine. For those on Windows, right click on an image and save the image. Whatever program you use to print it, you must choose exact size or 100% scaling. The pattern is on A4 paper, so use legal size paper if you don't have A4.

I will work on creating pdf's.

    17. Sometimes I wish I were still working. I had Adobe Acrobat Professional at the office. Creating PDFs was a snap. I would buy it for home use but I'm not sure how often I'd use it.

    18. Yes, actually I was referring to saving on the disk on your computer. It's a good safe product. It was my IT department at work that recommended it years ago!

    19. Thanks @vermont chick for the kind mention! I thought I'd posted a pic of my
Gwen (mocha Gene) in her "Hermione" dress, but I only seem to have posted
themto the Gallery. Vermont chick is correct - when making this cute dress
out of the eyelet fabric, the waist part of the pattern was way too large. I took
it in on the seams, and spread the top bodice parts a little and this is the result.
The waist area could still stand a bit more tweaking; and once I finish the two
commissions on my plate, I will probably do that, as well as working on the other
five dresses I had cut out for Gwen!

Here is one of the photos I posted:

    20. @Robyn_in_WA - I really like your version of the dress. Mine doesn't show the detail as well because of the busy print, whereas yours shows what the dress actually looks like. I think you also reduced the fullness of the skirt.

Hopefully this thread will gather all the "what-fits" info into one place. Some repetition is inevitable.

    21. @Robyn_in_WA : this is a very pretty version. Your Gene could be a lovely bride, if Raccon would only make a bridegroom:)

    22. I found some shoes that fit! :D
Both of these shoes I ordered from Facets By Marcia, who also stock a whole lot of size 5-6 Monique wigs, so it's a good place to get stuff for the Raccoon Doll girls!
On the left we have some boots made for Matt O'Neill, who is a boy doll from Tonner. They fit the flat feet really well, and she stands up in them perfectly! So now she has pirate boots. :D
Here's the link: Facets by Marcia - Shoes for Male Fashion Dolls It's the Riding Boots, and they come in three sizes - the Matt Tonner is the one that fits.
The other shoes are the Gibson Tie Shoe, made for Tonner American Model dolls. They sort of fit the high heel feet, but the toes don't go to the end - however, with socks on, and possibly a little padding in the toe, I think they would work. The width and proportion look very good. I'm not sure how well she stands in them though, as so far I haven't managed to change her feet over yet, I think it's a two person job! :D
Facets by Marcia - Larger Fashion Doll Shoes Facets have a lot of shoes on this page, but make sure you look at the sizes - the ones for smaller Tonner dolls won't fit. American Model or CED shoes seem to be the ones most likely to fit - although it varies, as I have the Calf Lace Boots (pictured a bit further up on the Facets page), and they don't fit my Raccoon doll at all - the foot arch is all wrong. So it looks like some will fit, some won't, and it's hard to tell which!

    23. Oh! Good to know about the Tonner Matt boots! I have some!

    24. Hmm, I don't think I've tried any of the Matt O'Neil shoes on my girls. Must do that, although my "collection" consists of different color loafers. How easily do those boots come off? As I recall they don't have zippers.

    25. Just dropping the slim MSD measurements spreadsheet here - if you'd like to add anything let me know!

Has anyone tried Unoa-sized Dollheart outfits on these ladies? There's a steampunk-themed convention coming up and I'm really considering getting one of their sets.

      • x 2
    26. I have the Raccoon foot width down as 1.9cm.
Have you found a source for Dollheart steampunk outfits other than Dollheart? The Unoa/Slim Mini steampunk outfits are all marked Sold Out on their site. I'd love to get one for my Unoas.

    27. Oooh, thank you for that measurement!

Well, I was thinking of getting the Scorpio Zodiac set and adding some steampunk details of my own to it. It's really too bad the actual steampunk outfits are sold out. :(

    28. I wish DH would bring out more steampunk outfits. It's not like interest in that style has died, right? I live in fear that the little gears and other add-ons will disappear. Then what will we do?

      • x 1
    29. Oops, forgot to reply to this, sorry!
These boots do have zips in fact, so they go on and off very easily.

    30. Thanks! That's great news.

    31. I asked in the discussion thread, but I thought I'd ask here too, since it's the clothes thread :)
Would it be possible for Ellowyne shoes to fit these ladies tiny feet? *hoping*

    32. My Ellowynes are gone but many of their shoes remain--and unfortunately they are too small for Raccoon girls.

    33. Aaaw, too bad
      Thanks for checking.

    34. Seconding Vermont Chick--I ordered some Ellowyne shoes and they were far too small, ordered some American Model shoes and they were far too big. :( These girls have Goldilocks feet.

My Raccoon girl is currently wearing FID highest heel feet and Souldoll heels with the toes stuffed with cotton. The only fit I've found so far. XD

    35. Has anyone had any luck scaling a human sized pattern down for RD?

    36. I know this has been posted before but the thread was older so I was hoping maybe someone has come up with more options. I am looking for clothing for Raccoon Doll slim body. I know a lot of people have luck with Iplehouse but, anything else? Thank you :)

    37. Hmmm...I don't know but you can look at the measurements at AliceCollections, maybe something will fit:)

    38. Just checking in to see if there has been any recent developments in the clothing and shoes for the raccoon girls? Also, has anyone had any luck with Leekeworld 5-6 inch wigs for them?

    39. This is a VERY VERY TIGHT fit, but I thought I'd take a picture of my Raccoon Doll wearing Iplehouse FID High Heel feet and wearing CED/Deanna Denton shoes from eBay. I had to hot glue suede her ankles to be able to tilt forward for the very steep shoes and hold that pose.

It's worth noting that Sweet Mocha is a very close match for Iple Real Skin:

    40. Thanks for the tip ... Do you think CED shoes would fit Raccoon girls' original high feet ? Is there much difference between these and FID's ?

    41. Some CED shoes I've tried do, and some don't. Raccoon feet seem to be wider than CED. I've had luck with 22" American Model shoes with the toes stuffed, though! The Raccon toes are kind of "flat" so I basically make a half-insole out of thin foam for the shoes too.

The FID heel feet are, at most, half a centimeter longer, but the toes and arch seem to be deeper (height wise). It makes them fit those American Model shoes way easier, in my experience. :)

    42. Now that I have my girl I can finally add something to this thread :)
Thought I'd sort by brand names instead of having shoes/clothes categories.
I may be repeating some things already said here, but it's easier for me to just drone on :P

Evangeline Ghastly: Wigs for resin and plastic will be big and slide of(don't have a wigcap, so I don't know if it would help), but the ones for the old vinyl body and, I'm guessing because they are the same size, Ellowyne Wilde will fit with a wigcap.
The shoes is another matter, tried both the ones for Ellowyne, vinyl Evangeline and resin Evangeline, and the ones for resin Evangeline is the only ones I could get her feet in, and even them you gently have to "screw" them in.
They won't be a perfect match as the shoe is too long, so her toes won't reach the end of the shoe, but the arch of the shoe and the foot matches perfectly, so boots and closed-toe shoes should be no problem.
I even got her to stand by herself in them.
The only clothes I managed to get her into was the jackets made for the resin, and you won't be able to close them(or bend the arms forward), but that was not a problem for me.
      Props work perfectly :)

Iplehouse: Bought FID hands for her and they work like charm(perfect resin match in NS), I also bought all the FID feet, but the Raccoondoll S-hook was too small, so I'll have to buy new ones directly from Iplehouse.
JIDboys pants works, but they will be a bit short. I don't know about pants for JIDgirls, but the tops work, the gloves also work.
Wigs intended for FID also works :)

Lastly I think clothing for the standard MSDgirl would be really worth looking into. I bought the black leather leggins from Raccoondolls site and it's an good fit, the tag inside said nine9style, and on their site they said the leggins were intended for MSDgirls. On youtube bustamente119 have made a video where he has ordered standard MSDgirl clothing from Dollmore, and they fit really good, with the exception that our girls have longer legs. I can't say with confidence that MSD clothing will fit our girls, but it's worth looking into both the girls and boys, cause that would open up A LOT of options.

    43. @Sparklin_me - Thanks for the recap on things you've found that fit. I have to take issue with the Ellowyne Wilde wigs, however, as EW's head is larger than Evangeline's. I have some wigs from Wilde Imagination (made for EW) and they do not fit Raccoon girls. I'd say they're a size 7 because they're loose on dolls that wear a 6/7 and tight on dolls that wear a 7/8.

I'm intrigued by the thought that regular MSD clothing might fit our girls. I've been reluctant to try the pieces I have because they don't look like they would accommodate a doll with a bust and a narrow waist. Hmm...guess I'll spend some time trying on my MSD stuff after all.

    44. Totally intrigued about the MSD clothing. The reason I brought it up at all was because of the video bustamente119 posted, they fit surprisingly good for being meant for MSD, but I am not going order any MSD clothing until I really know for sure.
And about the Ellowyne wig, that was a guess at my part since the wig intended for the older vinyl Evangeline Ghastly fit pretty well(would fit even better with a wigcap) and for some reason I've thought they were the same size, but then they don't have the same headsize?

edit: Important to note is that mine is the slim body with small bust, I have no idea if the clothing options may apply to the glamour body and large bust.

    45. Thanks a lot, Sidroq and Sparklin_me. I'll try some shoes for CED and come back with the result. So far the only ones I found that fit perfectly are Minifees high heels and Dollinstyle bows for their flat feet (following Vermont Chick's advice in Raccoon discussion part 1). Iplehouse Jid girl underclothing fits our Raccoon girls slim body, small bust. Mine wears Ariel set.
As for the wigs, they take a 5/6 size.

    46. My DH's Monica arrived this week and I decided to play with her a bit before I wrap her up for Valentine's Day. :-) My first session was to see what shoes fit the feet she came with and to try on some of my different Tonner and generic MSD clothing. Here's a link to the album that shows everything . My apologies in advance for the cruddy cell phone pics, but I was too tired to haul out all the camera and lighting gear.

      Raccoon Doll Monica.

    47. I am so happy with this!! I guess it's the normal light brown and not glow?
Already planning my next doll! :D

    48. Yep. The FID feet I bought are the normal light brown. I figured that would have a better chance of matching than the glow light brown.

    49. I've been collecting various types of dolls for the last 11 years. And even though a lot of them have moved on since I began collecting BJDs; I've kept a lot of their clothing and shoes.... just in case. You never know when a new size doll will be able to wear some things you already own, so every new arrival gets to raid the doll clothes and shoe cubbies to see what they can borrow. My DH's Monica got a little play time last night and this is what worked for her and her original flat and heeled feet. I also didn't put a wig on her 'cause I knew I'd spend more time trying to keep it neat with all the changes. These were all taken with my phone's camera, so ...they are what they are. :-/

First is Monica wearing a DeeAnna Denton top by Jade Penne, DeeAnna Denton shoes (I *think* they're made by Tonner) and Teen Trends Deondra skirt.

    50. Hey all, I found out that Serenade Doll clothes will fit Raccoon Doll pretty well. Well, the dresses, shirts, leggings, & regular heel shoes. I don't have the tailored suit, so can't say for sure on that one. But Serenade has some really beautiful gowns and cheongsam at extremely reasonable prices...here's a photo of Zeda and a link to serenade clothes:

    51. That's really good to know! I just had a look at the link and pretty much love all the clothes! Are they easy to order from? Do you know what wait times are like?

    52. They are super easy to order from. Good customer service was my experience. Even when waiting for the doll it didn't take hardly any time at all. It was less than a month, but probably much much sooner if you're just buying the clothes.

    53. As a side note, the lingerie will fit too, except if you have the glamorous body the panties are a struggle to get over the hips. And the stockings are a bit tricky with the thigh width. I don't think there would be a significant problem with the slimmer body version tho. :)

    54. That's it????

    55. Here is my contribution to this data bank :

These are shoes from Facets by Marcia for Deeanna Denton or CED. They are a tight fit accross, but altogether they are OK. The girls don't pose as easily in these as they do with flat feet shoes, still they manage, with the help of a dose of patience ...

    56. If anyone pops into this thread, I have discovered a wonderful Etsy shop, Jasmine BJD Boutique which sells mature MSD size clothing, which fits Raccoon Doll girls perfectly. It's all stretchy, so should fit the glamour body as well as the slim body.

Rosie has a slim body. This fun two-piece outfits shows off her toned tummy perfectly!

She is wearing American Model shoes, and the bag is by Iplehouse.
