Any week now and Halrein, my Kylin dragon should be here. I hope Loongsoul is doing well with keeping up on order promises. Just too excited I can't believe it's already been 5 months. It doesn't seem like I've waited this long.

 

Congrats! i have my eye on a Kylin as well, however my wallet is quite empty at the moment cuz i am currently waiting for my Meiji and Qingli to be shipped. i found them so beautiful i bit the bullet and ordered both. i can't wait to get them. they will be my first dollies over 50cm

 

how well can a loogsoul pose?

 

Youtube is your friend. Type in "Loongsoul posing" in Youutbe. Loongsoul are one of the best posers. They're super sturdy and they have a great joint lock system too

 

Girrl has a number of photostories that show off the posing of her Loongsoul dolls. This one has a couple of her Loongsoul 73cm boys, and at the end of the photostory are links to many others, lots of them showing off the posing of Loongsoul dolls (among many others). I do love my huge LoongSoul boys (new photostory in the works, but my camera battery died so the lighting is going to be all wonky, unless I'm "too sick" to go to work tomorrow... hmm...) And they are amazing posers. Seriously Amazing.

On the posing topic, Julius is free standing while holding the umbrella and holding up Astrid (DZ Aurora) because she hates standing in the shoes she's currently wearing. So these boys are solid as rocks even while holding up other big dolls

Hi. I've been thinking of ordering from loongsoul however I can't enter their official site. I can get to the page where it let's you choose Chinese or English but not beyond that.. Does anyone have the same problem or is it just me?

 

The Loongsoul site seems to go down often. Your best bet might be to buy through dealers. Jeeryama sells Loongsoul items via eBay, and Alice's Collections at acbjd.com also carries Loongsoul dolls.

 

I really like the look of the Loongsoul bodies - and I love what I've read about the posing and standing ability. Seriously considering replacing one of my guy's bodies with one of these when I have funds.
Will SSDF size clothes fit them?

 

Hi, thread newbie here ... I'm in love with LiuGuang but I can't find any pics of their different skin colours so I thought I'd ask in here

 

Ostensibly... but I've found it rather hit or miss. Some things seem to fit, some are just a couple shades too small and some stuff is swimming on them (mostly SSDF size tops from TATA's, I keep suspecting that they're sending me EID sized stuff by mistake, but I don't have one of those so I can't really tell...)
Stuff specifically sized for SpiritDoll proud fits, but that's fairly hard to come by

 

What I've gathered is that SSDF clothes tend to be a bit small for Loongsoul 70cm guys; SID sized clothing fits; EID clothes will be too big on them.

Kentarin D'Ley was offering clothes sized for Loongsoul boys but her shop's Facebook page is gone, so maybe she's on hiatus. Stacy's Pink Ocean makes clothes that fit 70cm Loongsoul boys; she uses an Ivan as a model for some of her clothes.

 

Mintoncard has an image of the three basic resin colors here:

White, Normal Yellow, and Normal Pink. Loongsoul also has those three shades in French resin which is more translucent. French resin also comes in two more shades, Real skin (aka Wheat) and Tan skin. If you search Google Images for "loongsoul resin" you can see lots of pictures comparing Loongsoul resin colors to other companies' resin colors.

I'm kind of hoping I wouldn't have to get yet another set of clothes made for him - he's been on several different bodies and on about the 3rd custom set of clothes! But I'd really rather have him on a body I like that will pose well and can stand properly, if he needs new clothes again then so be it!

How yellow is the normal yellow resin in real life?

 

Not super yellow, more buttery pale than actual yellow, but it "tans" nicely into a more sunkissed look over the years

Tom is NY (and about 4 years old at this point) The redhead on the left is Dollshe Fresh Skin, and the blond on the right is DollZone NPS. If that's any help.

 

I'm really interested in the wheat/real skin but all the searches I've done haven't thrown an example up (I'm terrible with search engines for some reason - technologically inept I think lol)... I'm currently trawling through all the loongsoul threads. I did think it was weird though as I'd only seen the real skin referred to as wheat skin so it's nice to have that clarified - I was getting kind of confused lol

 

Ah. Ok, that definitely looks more yellow than I would want. I'd be better to go with pink then. Thanks for the help!

 

Keep in mind that he's 4 years old and not been kept tucked away. My new boy is in LS pink, and he's *quite* pink. There's a picture of him on the first page and here's a shot of him with his sister (who is the same DZ PS blond in the picture I just posted of Tom)

I have a MuXuan in Real skin and I love the color. It seems nicely versatile; it's definitely darker than the usual Normal Yellow and Normal Pink shades, but it's not so dark that it makes the paler dolls look ghostly.

Do you have anything in particular you want to see it compared to? I don't have a huge selection of other BJDs but if you want to see a photo of Real skin MuXuan compared to any of the dolls in my signature, I can give it a shot. I believe all my BJDs are in their respective makers' Normal skin, except Loongsoul Ivan (Normal Pink), Dollshe Aramis (Fresh) and MagicalAngel Rachel (white). I also have a tiny Island Doll cat anthro in Island's Normal.

 

I think the pink might fade to a better match actually. The yellow looks much too yellow for him (which is a problem I have with the body he's on at the moment as well). Right now though it's more important to me that he gets a body that looks good and will pose properly, instead of only being able to pose standing leaning against a wall. I'm starting to get beyond caring so far as resin match goes. And Loongsoul look like they pose well for their size. So at the moment I'm looking at Loongsoul or Dikadoll as being the best options.

I know that my 70 cm boy just barely fits into Dollheart's "standard" 70cm/"uncle" clothing, and I do mean just barely. It's a bit of a struggle getting them on, and I think he stretches out the pants a touch. Judging by the measurements, it probably be a bit of a tight squeeze, it they fit at all. Speaking of, I need to get back to sewing for him.

Anyway one of his fingers snapped this morning, luckily it was glued on but now I'm paranoid. I'm wondering if they sell replacement hands just in case.

 

I believe if you provide Loongsoul with the serial number from the dog tags they come with, you can buy jointed hands for $100. Not sure about non-jointed.

I have a pair of the jointed hands and if you go in for jointed hands at all, Loongsoul's are fantastic. I love 'em.

 

Totally forgot they made jointed hands, and they look really nice too. I might consider those in the future.

 

Hi sorry to bother you all but does anyone have a suggestion for a good carrying case that would hold my Meiji? I'm going to a meet soon but I'm not really sure how best to transport her or if I should take her at all Thanks ^_^

 

Peeps! Anyone have an 80cm boy yet? I'm getting antsy about getting mine and I'd like to have his eyes here before he arrives. Any idea what size they take? Its not listed on the site.

 

Jeeryama has one of them listed as taking 14mm and alices collection has the sculpt elegance taking 16mm I hope that helps some

 

I usually just sling my big boys on my hip (like a far less expensive child, lol) but that usually means I can just take the one. If I'm taking multiple big dolls somewhere I transport them in a converted laundry basket (because I'm weird, and the majority of my dolls are 66cm+)

When I'm taking SD or larger dolls out, I wrap them in a throw blanket and put them in a hard-sided rolling suitcase. I just feel more comfortable knowing they're very protected.

Here is Halrein, my Kylin - Yinqi dragon. He was a pretty heavy boy. I didn't get him with a faceup or blush even though now I'm thinking about how much it's going to cost I wish I did. But I wanted my own colors :3 His fullset outfit is AMAZINGLY DETAILED oh my god. And those jointed hands.

Overall I'm really happy he's here, but I have to email ACBJD to get them to see if Loongsoul can send me a replacement wig or new magnets or something. His wig is a mess and the magnets that are glued into his head and horns are really weak.

He's a B to pose but I kind of like it. I haven't gotten him to stand up yet despite hot glue and a tight string, but he's going to be a display doll anyway aside from some photo shoots. Like all Loongsoul dolls he holds his poses really well.

It's kind of funny though, I sold my Soom Obsidius because of how poorly designed his fantasy joints were but it looks like it's all across the board xD Oh well, that's what hot glue is for.

I've been doing some research as I have been dipping my feet in the bjd waters, and I have taken a real interest in the 68cm LS male. This newb has a couple of questions, could anyone help me out?

First, what's the average waiting period for an LS order? Also, Resinsoul Long's head was perfect for a character design I have in mind, but I'd like to know which color from LS matches RS NS the best? Does the 68cm have jointed hand options? If not, what would be a good alternative? Does LS currently have a male elf that fits wth the 68cm?

I hope to get some answers so I can look into investing in an LS very soon. Thanks in advance!

 

LS wait times average 6 months (or more)
You might get a halfway decent match between LS Wheat/Real and RS Lt. Tan/Coffee. RS is pretty great about custom resin matching and they also make jointed hands so if you're going to pay up for them to match your head to a LS body may as well get their hands too. (if LS doesn't have jointed hands for the 68cm boys, I don't really know off the top of my head. All of mine are bigger and I'm completely uninterested in boys who aren't at least 70cm)

 

I'm in need of some assistance. I recently bought an Oasisdoll Linglan head and wanted to hybrid her with a Loongsoul body. I have my eye on the newer 58cm girl body (B-G58-02). Does anyone know if this combo would work and what skin color matches Oasisdoll best. I had already asked on the Oasisdoll disscussion but I never got an answer there. Thanks!

 

Does anyone have pictures of LS 68cm head on a LS 62cm body? According to Alice's Collections, Loong Soul 62cm & 68cm boy's heads are interchangeable. I just want to see pictures out of curiosity ^^

It seems that most of the reference pictures are loongsoul boys....can anyone pose some 58cm girl body reference photo for pose and resin color comparison? I found that there were 2 types of resin material for each color, frosted type and glossy type. Does everybody know how they look differently? Thanks a lot.

Also.....if i consider the posing ability and the figure shape of the body, would u guys prefer loongsoul 58cm girl or volks sdgr? Thx

 

There aren't 2 types of resin for each color, there's Environmental Resin for all the colors (the glossier one) and standard Resin for WS, NPS and NYS. I can't help you with resin comparisons with a 58cm girl, I've only got the ^cough^5^cough^ boys at home and am waiting on a 69cm girl

 

I haven't taken any good pics of him since he's still bald and naked mostly but here is Kojou ( or soon to be Kojou anyway ). I plan on making his ears and tail myself and commissioning out his wig more than likely. I want to get all his paint work done by Angeltoast. He's just so dang pink xD

Hello everyone, due to extreme luck, I just got a BJD body from a flea market (incredible, right?!) and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this really is an old body from Loongsoul. I emailed the company and they said it's an original one but failed to give me the model name. This one is really short, about 56cm.

**EDIT AS OF JULY 2018, I FOUND OUT THAT SAID BODY IS ILLUSION SPIRIT!

 

hi everyone! i've noticed that a couple of dealers have stopped taking pre-orders for loongsoul, such as DDE and MOC. i'm a little worried bc i was planning on ordering a loongsoul at the end of this year. has this happened before ever? i know that LS orders have crazy wait times, so i was wondering if it's normal for dealers to occasionally close LS orders. or maybe did something happen with the company? D: i hope that's not the case!

 

I don't know what DDE's reason is, but this was posted in MoC's news section:

-The way MoC operates is going to alter a bit. We have decided to change when we place pre-orders with companies. Most brands will be in-stock only except for various times throughout the year when we turn pre-ordering on. There will be a few brands that will always have pre-order available, they are:
-DollZone
-Doll Chateau
-Aimerai
-Angel-Studio
-LUTS
All other brands will have the pre-order option turned off after the current pre-order submission date has passed. Because the pre-order option will not be available year-round will be stocking *much more* than we used to. We will also be creating a "Stock It!" button to put on listings so that you can all voice what you would like us to stock.
We realize that this news will be a bummer for some of you. We apologize for this, but currently this seems to be the best direction for our business to take. It sucks that MoC isnt going to ordering from LS anymore, but I think it was the right decision for them. LS orders seem to be getting sent smoothly direct from the company and from Alice's Collections, but from MoC and DDE they were taking forever.
