Does anyone know how similar fairyland normal and LLT normal look?

 

@zekarmisama I have some of both from 2021, here's LLT NS on the left and FL NS on the right. Both of these have been in a lightproof cabinet. LLT NS is somewhat yellower and darker in tone while FL NS is lighter and has a pink undertone. From what I can say with my little faceups experience (if you're hybriding a body to a head, that is), matching LLT to fairyland by blushing would be more tricky than matching FL to LLT as it is easier to go from light to dark.

Sigh. This thread has died, as did Julia's IG. I had a feeling quite some time ago that she was losing interest...I think it's been about a year since her last order period, and six months since she posted a couple of pics of a head in progress. Has anyone seen her pop up anywhere at all?

Most of my favorite dolls came from her studio. I probably should've bought more when I had the chance...

 

Some collectors can be difficult to deal with. I can see why an artist would become tried of the struggle. With all that has been going on in the world it must be even harder. I hope that she is doing well.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Couldn't agree more; the click war fiasco probably soured her quite a lot. I just hope that she still loves her craft enough to come back to it - I'd love to see what she creates next time, if there ever is a next time!

 

No worry, she is still active in the Chinese community. She is making an improved version for the grove hands and the body. Unlikely she will open the sales in 2022 due to various factors. Hope she can give us more in 2023.

@elovesgr That is so good to hear, thank you for the update! I already have the glove hands, so I doubt I'll be getting more, but I'm looking forward to any future dolls!

 

Might be the thread livens up a little once the latest preorder's dolls ship (unless they have already). I did get my gloved hands order from the recent preorder a couple months ago, and finally my Roderich, my demon-infested servant of God, can wear all white and gold. It's a poor quality mobile photo, but he's contributing to the thread.

 

I love seeing these dolls! @vauhtikatti - hopefully someday I can get one...

 

Ah, I can help spam. My Neil, Raphael, has actually been getting the most photo attention out of all my dolls of late. Um..but I forgot to post in this thread.

@Lady Ravenswood oh your Neil is gorgeous, that is such a beautiful picture ♥️♥️ they are like vultures when it comes to photo time - I recently sorted my pictures into albums and my Neil has more than double the amount of pictures than all my other dolls this year

Does she have a Weidan or on Taobao? How does she do preorders for China? On the lltdoll site looks like hasnt been updated since late 2020.

From what i've seen on her weibo it looks like you need 1. weibo account 2. xianyu account 3. qq account when ordering (I think it's to verify that you don't deal with recasts but I haven't ordered from her before so I'm not sure

She posted on her instagram selling a few dolls she had in stock by email. She usually posts one sale a year on IG too. Ever since her site crashed (I think it was in 2020) during a preorder, she's mainly taken sales by email.

Actually she just opened a sales of Edria head about a month ago on her Taobao shop, first come first serve. Maybe she will release the same head on Ins as well.

 

My Neil recently got back from his faceup artist, and he's such a grumpy boy. I adore him. This isn't his final wig, but the only one in my possession that he didn't look annoyed that I put on him.

I also joined the jointed gloved hands preorder that opened up recently. I regretted not ordering with my Neil not long after I placed my order.

Julia also looks like she's reworking the ballerino arms. I couldn't immediately tell what the changes are, I hope to see a comparison photo eventually. I don't have any plans to join a full doll preorder, but depending on which sculpts are available, I might waiver.

Does she ever sell just bodies? I probably won't because of pricing and matching, but considering my options.

Seeing some pictures I also wish the body was just sold. Perhaps in the future maybe.

 

Anyone else buy from the domestic order? Theres supposed to be an international one this month but idk when. I think its a bit cheaper buying from taobao. Anyway I am excited for my Tan Roderich! But I believe I'm in for a bit of a wait 6+ months haha

 

I wish Taobao didn't make it so impossible to make accounts now. The website has been dead to me for a while now since I can't even browse or follow the steps to make/secure an account Q_Q I used to buy from it so much. So I'm hoping the international order opens up soon and is pre order like she mentioned, because I'm dying for this new guy in the lighter tan and stupidly nervous I won't be able to secure him.

Interesting though that Ahaz, Ludwig and Black pearl are available too via taobao I always thought they were limited and never to be released again...

 

They are not available. The Taobao listings clearly state that they are out of print, and if you attempt to purchase, you'll be sent a JPG image

 

Its a bit weird that the prices and every option are there? Like, why not taking them out and setting the price to something impossible? Not that I'm interested in them (I'm very happy with my Rederich).

I was hoping to buy some gloved hands too but looks like shes only selling the ball joints for them. I grabbed a ones for my Tan Roderich and one in light tan in 75cm hopefully will match my Soom boys too. I have a set of gloves in white but I havent tried switching out ball joints yet I hope its not too hard to do.

No you just have to give Facebook, Twitter or IG if you are an international customer. Just one is enough. My agent purchased this for me and LLT asked for those socials instead for foreigners. Most buying off TB are domestic though so you wouldn’t get that info unless you asked/tried to purchase.

International orders are up and I'm so thankful for the options offered. I was still waiting for my proxy to grab him, but ended up sending her an email instead to order direct. I'm so over the moon that I'm bringing this guy home, I haven't been this excited about a doll wait in a long while. I got Bril in light tan and all the extras and outfits

I'm nervously waiting for a response. How long does it usually take?

Ultimately I've known that LLT would be my first bjd preorder (since pictures of Neil from way back when were the reason I looked into dolls in the first place) but I never expected the new doll would be as staggeringly beautiful as it is.

I've never sacrificed over 1000 bucks from my savings account so fast.

 

I sent my email for a Roderich. I missed all previous preorders. I'm so excited.

I don't think you all have much to worry about not hearing anything yet, on the Taobao page it says this is open order as LLT is doing the queue system first 300 orders take 6 months 301-600 1 year, and so on with no limit. So while the preorder time is limited as well as the amount a single person can buy, the overall quantity isn't. But she says 180 working days on the English posts which is probably around 8-9 months if you include holidays which would check out with the schedule of domestic probably shipping first around 6 months.

 

Based on one of their instagram replies, it takes 5 working days if you are successful.

It did, the issue was apparently with my provider. Julia and me did a bit of back and forth, and once I switched to one of my Gmail addresses it worked
Received the confirmation already as well, so all is well

I ordered a tan Brilthor, and a normal Lazuli (to replace my current hybrid!Lazuli).
