    2. There are so many kinds of awesome in this. Congrats!! Her wig is amazing -- and is that a Kid body?? If so, costuming for the win...

    3. Thanks! The wig was made by me. Her body is a bunny nine body from Nine9Style.

    4. This is beyond impressive!

    5. Thank you! Everything, including Jabba, was made by me.

    7. Hello DoA!

Wasn't sure where to post this thread and if there is a similar one elsewhere I apologize, I could not find it when I searched.

I am considering getting a KID from Iplehouse. They're so cute and I don't have a toddler BJD at all yet. I currently own an EID and a JID, and my question about KIDs is...

How tight are their bodies? Can they sit well on their own or do they flop over easily? I ask because my JID from Iplehouse is quite loose and floppy, so I want to know if KIDs have the same problem (especially with sitting) or if they are more sturdy.

If anyone that owns or has handled a KID could help me out, I would be so grateful! It would help my decision in purchasing one. <3

      -Kaleigh

    8. that bunny nine body is really cute. is the color match as good as it looks in the photo? and how is the posing?

    9. Yes, the color match is that good. I also have my Lisa head on that body. The posing is ok, not fabulous. One piece torso, mobility joint, single joint arms and legs.

    10. I have an Iplehouse Irene, second hand and several years old. The stringing is tight, she sit and stand pretty well and not like JID. JID has issue with being half strung into the torso and legs separate, if it's the female ones. To solve the JID problem, you might want to do some modding by drilling holes in the torso to the legs and string it up normal from neck to ankles. JID poses and sit great in comparation and their bodies are solid.

    11. I find my KID's to be much sturdier than my JID's. JID's do have a known issue with their 'floppy-ness' though so it's not so surprising. I believe it's the manner in which the JID is strung (especially the girls) as it's different from the rest of Iplehouse's dolls. I still have no clue why *_*

My KID girls are always solid standers, they rarely sit, but I've never had any issues with that either :)

Anyway, if you have any other questions about KID's you can ask here...

      Iplehouse Kid K.I.D. 35cm discussion part 5

Don't let the lack of posts throw you, it's just had a refresh. You can see previous threads for similar thoughts on any issues as well. There are always lot's of enthusiastic KID owners on the discussion threads who are happy to discuss them, so don't be shy ;)

    12. Thank you that really helps a lot!! I didn't realize JID's were so different. I do wonder why. Hopefully they fix that problem soon but this is good news for the KID. Thanks!!

    13. Thank you!! I will definitely check it out. My main concern was if they were floppy like my JID. My EID doesn't have the same issue (even though he's a lot larger) so I'm glad KID size isn't floppy - I thought it might be a 'small Iple doll' problem. So glad it isn't!

    14. You're welcome :)

And it's most definitely not a small doll issue, just a JID issue :| My KID BamBi and BID Elin are my most solid posers, much better than even my EID boys. So yeah, you won't have any issues like that with a KID ;)

    15. well the iplehouse dolls aren't exactly known for fabulous posing either (just gorgeous sculpts!) so that might not be too bad. do you have a kid body too by any chance that you can compare it to? it might be fun to have an alternate body for one of my girls...

    16. Unfortunately I don't, I never got the KID bodies. I bought the heads specifically to put on the bunny nine bodies since I love those bodies so much.

    17. Hi stopping in to say hi and stalk thread, ordered one of the KIDs (Paige) in RS last week. : )

    18. I'm looking forward to seeing her in real skin, as I still haven't decided which resin colour I'd like to get her in.

    19. did you get the regular or glow skin? im like mb lilac and want to see her in rs as im still undecided

    20. I wish IH would show their new dolls in more than just normal and PG. And it would be nice if they said whether or not the resins they do show them in were regular or GLOW, because many times I'd swear the sample dolls are shown in GLOW but it's not labelled as such.

I do have a real skin Chloe and a GLOW real skin "I" coming any day now, so will finally be able to take a comparison picture of the real skin resins at least.

    21. Comparison snaps would be great! I did a lot of Flickr research, mainly on the BIDs as there are a few good owner pics in RS. My order is regular, I'm not 100% the extra cost for glow is justified, as the regular skins are so lovely anyway. I think Paige's Elfin features will look great with a more Mediterranean toned skin color, but we'll see. I've just had another look at The website and I'm still second guessing myself!!

    22. let us know when you get the pics please, i'd love to see them.

you'd think they could at least do blank sculpts in a variety of resins. it's not like they couldn't sell them all once the orders start coming.

    23. Exactly! It really is a bit short-sighted on their part, since the more they'd advertise their resin colours, the more likely they would be to get orders.

Well, tracking shows my dolls have arrived at Pearson, so they should arrive tomorrow - hopefully before I have to go out to an appointment.

    24. the reason has to do with them not wanting to become known for 'mismatched' dolls (heads/bodies). They drew a line and even this head sale thing made them cross it (and we paid with jacked up prices). It's one thing when they can sell it as 'seconds' in an auction for a low start price.. but another to 'deliberately go about creating this surplus. ... Think of it as an ethical issue for the company about their perception of quality.... accidents happen but they don't want to cross the line deliberately ... and a batch of blank heads to them would be doing that.

note: not my thinking but me trying to think like they might

    25. I need some Irene spam STAT! LOL! Still two more payments on my girl! (sales have not been kind- I was hoping to pay her off earlier but no such luck...)

    26. i wasn't thinking they would just do a bunch of blank heads, but rather the full body and then they could sell it to the first customer to order that resin color. taking a simple photo of it, wouldn't make it used in my mind so it would still be a "first"

    27. We meant for IH to show more resin colours with face ups on any particular doll's promo page - not for them to sell their heads separately. I understand that they don't want to sell their heads and bodies separately. It's just very difficult to make resin choices when new dolls are shown only in normal and PG. I'd like to see the dolls in RS as well - maybe all the Basic colour options - as I'm sure many others would. It's not like the heads would be a loss, since they'd attract more sellers if we could see all the options, and the first person to actually order that head in that colour with that face up, can always get that head.

Edited - I see we answered at the same time.

    28. Noni is willing to help here, and hopes your girl arrives soon.

    29. @clochette love your Noni! Great dress.
Just posted over in the 'what fits' thread too: I've been window shopping for clothes for my impending arrival. Love how affordable everything for tinys is. Anyhow I found a Minifee outfit on Etsy that I liked and I got chatting with the Olga the shop owner and we did some comparisons on measurements etc. She very kindly offered to make me the outfit I liked to the exact KID specs, and it was complete and shipped within 24 hours!! it was such a great customer experience, and I'm sharing the shop name here for you guys with her blessing: by Olyshka

    30. This is an old pic of Irene and Aki --- I miss them

    31. Yay! Thanks for the Irenes!! I'm really looking forward to getting my girl!!

    32. The jean overalls I'd ordered from TTYA for my BIDs, arrived this morning! I love them!
However, the straps and bib are much too long for Ringo, so I tucked the back bib down into the pants. It will need to be permanently sewn down. Either that, or I'll have to shorten the straps.

Since the top and legs were so long, I thought I'd try it on a KID to see how it would fit them. The top fit perfectly, but the legs are too short. It reminds me of Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn.....or a boy who's just had a growth spurt....

    33. that looks like what my sons pants always looked like before they came out with jeans that had elastic on the inside. he was so skinny he wore jeans that were 5-6" too short just to keep them up. my mom and i used to sew funky cuffs on them to make them long enough :)

    34. I was going to shorten the straps on both pair, but I'm starting to think maybe I should sew longer cuffs on one of them and keep it for a KID

    35. I finally finished my Paige, and I thought you might like to see her. I have named her Kira. I did not know who Kira the gelfling was, but apparently from what I was told by so many on FB that is who I have made. I am so impressed with this doll, she will not be my last Iplehouse.

    36. She's gorgeous! The perfect little elf.

    37. She does look like Kira! How funny - I suppose you know all about The Dark Crystal now, though?

    38. oh wow she does look like kira from "The Dark Crystal"! just some costume changes and she'd be a dead ringer! And really this sculpt looks like it was 'meant' to be an elf LOL she's wonderful!

    39. She's a superb vision of Elvin perfection! :thumbup

    40. Thank you MB Lilac, Doll Sewist, Lady Tiku, and Xanadu Dolls, I am so glad you like her.
She does have elf like features, maybe someday they will release her as an elf. I learned about Kira and the Dark Crystal. I saw her costume, and I don't think this Kira will ever get one like that. The poor girl looked like she was dressed in a sack. I will have to watch the movie now. I never knew of it before today.

    41. Random Q for KID owners - while Im waiting to pay off Paige, would someone mind posting or pm-ing me the dimensions of the KID box? LxWxH or similar in centimetres? Do they come in the new black boxes now?

    42. They are now using the black boxes for the KIDs. My Paige's box is approximately 38 by 14 by 7.5cm.

      • x 1
    43. Thanks heaps @Jill in WV. Shame about the new boxes! Its OT but I just made a cute prop bed for my BID with the mattress based on the dimensions of his box, which turned out ok, so I thought I might make some props for my incoming KID while I'm doing the wait thing.

    44. has anyone seen a picture of the bull terriers with a bid or kid? they are really cute, and im tempted, but wonder if they would be out of scale with my girls?

    45. YAY, in few weeks I'll have my KID home, a Bambi, which I had wanted since the beginning. I waited almost to the last day, but... she's coming home *____*.

    46. i just placed an order for an alice yesterday! she is my first KID so i'll be joining this thread. i can't wait to get her home but i had to do a layaway so it will be a couple of months til then.

    47. I ordered my first KID too, Moondust07x, did you order some clothes too? I ordered the purple set and the sha sha leggings in purple, so she can have some clothes ready... oh gosh, I have to find some underwear!!!

    48. i was going to order that light blue dress but ti was out of stock, i am very disappointed cuz it was perfect for her character, so she has no clothing at the moment :pout: but i will find something for her

    49. The light blue dress is very cute! The character for mine is contemporary, so I just needed something basic.

You could look on dollmore because often Narsha clothes fit KIDs.

    50. thank you for letting me know! i will take a peek. my girl's a little ghost

    51. If you go at the first page of this thread, you will see, in the first post, a list of links. In them there is the "KID What fits", that is the thread where we discuss what clothes, sizes, brands fit the dolls. It's very useful!

    52. Congratulations @Enid Black and moondust07x! Great news. I have my fingers crossed I will receive my new KID in July. I bought her a few outfits from Etsy. Has anyone else ordered /received a Paige? I'd love a link to some more pics to make the wait go faster if possible. : )

    53. I ordered Paige very soon after she came out. I loved that little face so much - and she did not disappoint.

I looked for where I posted, but I think I posted her on the old thread, so I'll put one on this thread for you as well:

    54. She is very beautiful Jill, I love those freckles. Is this wig from them too? It is perfect on her.

    55. Yes, it is - it's this Iplehouse wig, pulled back...

    56. Gorgeous, fits perfectly, and the fullness is just right.

    57. She's super cute! Thanks for the pic! I've only seen the two so far. I'm glad you weren't disappointed with her. Such a sweet little face.

    58. is it just me or does anyone else think paige looks like a young nicole kidman? i didn't notice it at first then i saw this picture
