so i just took advantage of the cds sale and ordered a lonnie in light brown. she wasn't in my plans at all but i couldn't resist the chance to get one at a "reasonable" price. this will be my first darker skinned doll, so i'm looking forward to seeing how she is to work with.

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, and with her skintone (NS), I think it really suits Shelby.
I also like to change out the eyes and wig occasionally. Not many of my girls have a permanent "look". Her wig is "PARIS" in Peach blonde/bleach blonde by Monique and her eyes are handblown German glass eyes in size 12 mm.

New thread spam! Here's Lily Ember with her Dobhar Chu. I'm gonna wire him and stuff so he works better with her and can pose. She's got the grey stripey shirt and jeans from Iplehouse on right now. Casual Friday.

I've just come across these dolls and I'm in love with Lonnie and another girl - Irene? How poseable are they?

 

Quite posable! They also slouch well, which is something I love about them. The only issues I've had are the following: Feet are very small, so she stands better in shoes. Head can be a little wobbly, though this might just be her stringing? And, as with most of the Iplehouse dolls, sitting up straight requires a little work, especially in pants. They're really versatile though.

 

Thanks Tatterpunk, that's really helpful. I have to confess that I'm not a complete fan of their torso but once she is dressed it won't be an issue. Now I just need to decide between a Lonnie with A make-up or Irene with C make-up.

I don't suppose anyone has a photo of a Kid alongside a MNF do they?

 

so i really just cant wait anymore to show off my girl. im still waiting to get a grey mohair, longer wig for her, but for now this works.

Poor Siddal hasn't seen the camera lately as we're still waiting on her wig. I really like the sizes together (and also with Maeve my tiny fairy) their proportions really work together.

Think you Honeythorpe, the two sizes do work really well together. I hadn't realised they were that close in height, but I think the proportions work better together then they do with LTF and MNF. Both of your girls are gorgeous.

Julish, congrats on your new girl. She's a real cutie. The honey skin works rely well with red/strawberry blonde hair.

 

I love everyone's dolls ! Especially the redheads ^___^. I definitely need another KID sometime this year. I'm gonna wait to see what other sculpts they come up with though. I'd like to get a WS one to give a really pretty Snow White look to.

Nah, it's probably just someone she met tagging along on one of her parents' hunting trips. I could definitely see her befriending a monster like that, though.

I hope your Milly gets to you soon!!! I can't wait to see more Millies and Irenes!

The shirt she's wearing in this picture is a Ken shirt purchased in the last year or so. It fits her perfectly!

My visitors left, so I've been playing with her all afternoon, and I'm really impressed with her.

i know! i ordered my lonnie too soon. i really could have used the layaway option! oh well, what's done is done.

does anyone think its odd with all the combinations of bodies/heads they have, there is no option to put a bid head on a kid body. i would have thought that would make a lot more sense than some of the jid/kid combos, since the heads look about the same size. wonder why it isn't available. i think some of the bids would make adorable kids!

 

I'm expecting Lonnie any day now, and when she comes I plan on juggling heads (and taking photos) to see how JID and BID heads work on the KID body.

 

that would be good. i was going to try that but realized i had put becca's (elin's) wig on really firmly with putty and was just too lazy to try and take it off, so just held them up side by side. not the best way to judge, but it looked like it might work. i'd especially like to see serca on the kid body if you don't mind

 

I had also expected to see BID head on KID bodies and KID heads on BID bodies. But since I don't plan any of those combos it doesn't really matter to me. But it would have been interesting to see.

The BID and KIDs have totally different neck and head connections so they won't work together. Or I'm just not smart enough to figure it out. LOL

 

oh, that's too bad. i had visions of great combinations! the kid/jid combos just don't work for me and it would be nice to have access to more sculpts

 

It's likely it'd require a bit of modding to make it work. . . . . does someone have both who could show the connecty system for each?

What size are they? They look quite good in that size. . . . .

 

They are 12mm, the size IH suggests for the KIDs.

 

The neck of the BID has a big hollow opening that the back of the head fits onto with a big round peg. The kids have a regular head and neck connection. I'll try and take pictures later.

You might be able to put the KID head on the BID body. Haven't tried that. I don't think I would like the proportions though.

i know someone here has an irene!! so i need to know, what size eyes do you have in her? it says 12/14mm but im wondering if 10s will work...

My Irene arrived today! Alas, as she's a Christmas gift from The Hub, my only interaction with her was to check her to make sure she was okay, then hand her over to him so he can spirit her away to the wrapping elves.

She's very cute...they gave her green eyes

couldnt post a pic before about size, but my lonnie def wears tens, which i think fit really well and dont gap. helps her look closer to eleven or so which is how old she is supposed to be.

also, celebratory spam bc i got a mostly definitive answer back from the girl im buying my wig from! hooray! i decided on a french grey color with singed looking tips. can't wait. congratsto all those on shipping and received! that xmas picture is tooooo cute!

It was odd...I got notice that she left Korea on 11/29, but she didn't arrive until yesterday, which is the longest EMS shipping I've encountered in my eight years of ordering from these companies. According to tracking, she came to LA on the 30th, and disappeared. Then on the 6th it showed she went back to Narita on the 30th, sat until 12/6, then to LA again where she sat another three days until she finally left for San Diego. Very frustrating.

Most of the other shipments in the waiting room only took a few days, not two weeks, so I suspect they didn't actually send her until the second trip on 12/6 :/
