    3. Oh my! MB Lilac they are just divine!! Love their gorgeous dresses and sweet faces - I also have a Lisa (the Addiction) Love her <3

    4. Thanks! I love my Lisa too. She's such a beautiful sculpt.

    5. yours has such a lovely faceup too, its so delicate

    6. MB lilac, your girls are really lovely! I love their fairy outfits!

    7. Beautiful dolls, that last picture of Lisa is gorgeous.

    8. Thanks! My friend Charie Wilson did all my doll's face ups.

Thanks! I made enough so all ten of my smaller dolls could be fairies at once. Lots of photos here - http://www.antiquelilac.com/the-fairy-gathering---fav-photos-2014.html

Thank you! I love my Lisa and was really pleased with that photo. I'd been scouting around town for good places to take doll photos, and spotted that huge clump of lavender in the Rec Center gardens. We went there several times, each time bringing different dolls. Here's one of Peach, taken just as the sun was setting....

Okay now, I feel like I'm monopolizing this thread. Let's see some more KIDs!

    9. feel free to monopolize! i haven't been able to take any new pictures lately so love seeing yours!

    10. Here is Noni, my Irene, playing princess her new wig:
Noni Teal by clochette62, on Flickr

The bangs are still a tad longish, but I think it makes her look more mature than her old wig.

    11. Gorgeous spam, MB Lilac! :aheartbea

Oh, clochette, Noni looks like a true princess! The dress is beautiful :D

Here is a bad one of my Ricky (it's part of a story I am working on DA, and his fantasy costume is nowhere near finished, so it looks really crappy - my excuses :sweat)

    12. Ohhh I'm so excited to be apart of this thread! I am waiting now for my very first lonnie and I'm so excited I'm already buying her clothes, eye's, wig's, you name it I'm buying it! She's not even here yet and I'm spoiling her more then my other lady's. (My sister said I'm being mean... hehe) The only challenge that I've heard of so far is the clothes but I'm sure I can manage to find some lovely items for her to wear. :aheartbea

      • x 1
    13. clothes can be a bit more challenging since there aren't as many other dolls this size, but she can fit into clothes ftom other sized dolls with a bit of creativity.

    14. I've heard that it's a bit difficult but I'm guessing if I buy enough of everything I might get lucky with a few items that can fit on her. I really want to go with a very cute kind of design and contacted cyristinecreations for something cute. She told me that based on the lonnie measurements I sent her that a custom Unoa Chibi size would fit on the lonnie best. I'm just wondering now if anyone else has ordered something from her for the kid sizes. I realllllyyyy want one of her shirt/ sweaters. \(^__^)/

    15. OMG, the friend I mentioned who has managed to track down the Addiction Lisa clothes for me has went ahead and bought them for me while I'm away... With the Lisa doll too :o :doh Who needs other DoA members to enable me with friends like mine!

Problem is, my friend isn't in the hobby so wasn't aware of the possibility of recasts so I'm going to have to have her checked out before I can accept her.

*Sigh* I now technically own (pending verification) a second vampire Lisa (this time NS), with my original still awaiting shipping from Iplehouse. Totally Iplewhelmed right now, was not expecting this. Good job I love her sculpt

Really need to start looking for KID clothes now haha. Or get the sewing machine out of storage once I'm back home ;)

BTW, loving the cute fairy outfits MB Lilac :aheartbea

    16. Do you know if this doll has the wing holes?... If the answer is yes... not a recast most like LOL... And thank god she's your friend and not mine ;p... but at least she had the money to do it!... fyi this might be the time to drag HER butt into the hobby? :wiggle I mean you could each have a Lisa! ;)

    17. Haha I tried to introduce her but dolls seem to creep her out. She's at least tolerant of my 'obsession', even picks out cute features on new ones and points them out to me. She just doesn't like to handle them herself. Trust me, poor Lisa will probably be hidden away in a drawer until I get home so she doesn't have to see her in 'the flesh' so to speak lol.

As for the holes, it sounds like Lisa does have them so fingers crossed :)

    18. Thought I'd stop in a share a picture of Lonnie in one of her new outfits. Any suggestions for a name? I'm stuck...

    19. She's so cute Swazini :aheartbea

Is is that the Misty blue lace set? It's adorable.

How about the names... Abbey, Crystal, Sophie or Charlotte? I have plenty more suggestions. I'm constantly looking for character names :XD:

    20. She's lovely! I don't rename my dolls - mine just keep their original sculpt names - so I'm no help there.

    21. she looked like a cinderella to me in that lovely dress so maybe cindy, ella or ellie?

    22. I got my KID Alice today, now I can start to make my Tudor era family come together

However, she still has to dress casually until I can make her garments. Please meet Joan Clemence (of Claybrook)

    23. She's very pretty! Can't wait to see what Tudor costume you make for her. I love that period.

    24. I'm 2 weeks away from my last payment for my little Irene ! :D
Buttt... Does anyone know if Iplehouse actually make the dolls once ordered, even on layaway, or do I have to wait another 60 days on top for her once I've paid her off? o___o

    25. Congrats Vanille :)

From what I've gathered, Iplehouse start making your doll about three working days after the first layaway payment is made. I've read from some that they've actually received notification of doll completion before their last payment is made :XD:

    26. Actually, that's how IH used to do it, and people often received their shipping notices shortly after they made their final payment. BUT then last year around Christmas they got so bogged down with orders that they changed their policy, and switched to starting the dolls once the final payment was made. So that means the 60 business days wait starts after the final payment now.

    27. Oh no :pout: I had read that they were back to normal production scheduling now from someone on the waiting list thread. I guess I was wrong. Thank you for the correcting me MB Lilac :)

    28. Finally, a KID Alice. She is very cute, and I am looking forward to see more of her - especially once she will be ready to show off her clothes!

    29. Just an update on the layaway issue if you're interested, Lady Tiku has confirmed with Iplehouse today that they are back to usual 3 days after first payments :) She had put a copy of the response in the waiting room thread ;)

On another note, I'm still waiting to hear back about my Lisa. They said she was done over a month ago and was just waiting on extra hands being finished but still no sign of shipping :...(

Fingers crossed they'll tell me they'll be shipping her soon so I can finally post some pics of her here

Oh and Avnia I agree your Alice is adorable :aheartbea

    30. I am ording my KID Peach tonight/tomorrow (depending on timezone lol) I will be getting the uniform with her and ordering the outfits for her on my next month monies ;p. But I have a question... I will need a pair of boots for her (they will go with the period type stuff better)... but they have the short and the knee highs.... any opinion on whether or not short or tall helps with balance? Also can a BID even wear the tall ones? (I'll have both eventually and would rather have 'share-able' stuff.

I love the Jane Eyre type dress but think the short boot might be a titch 'too' short? just taking opinions to help decide what to put on what orders... blah blah...

EDIT: The deed is done! My first KID! Peach with the face up of Joy type B ^^... got the uniform weapons and spy glass blush for good measure a wig and pj's cuz the bottoms will make cute bloomers for her other stuff ;p
I kept the order smaller as I forgot I had another bill to pay first.. >< at least I remembered the bill O_O.
:sweat It just means ALL the clothing stuffs will go on the other order for 'next' month. This also means I am still keeping up with my acquisition of double CH weapons LOL

    31. I'd say shorter boots. My girls wear boots from Fatio with their period clothes. I liked their style better, and they cost way less, plus they ship for free. They have zippers in back.

Is it possible to order Lawrence's weapons along with a Basic doll, or does one have to order a doll through Doll Choice? I'm planning on making a period costume for my Tedros, and would love to get one of those rapiers and guns.

    32. Unfortunately you can only buy them with the purchase of a DC doll, if you're not buying Lawrence. There have been some splits for people buying two sets with him though, so you could possibly join one o those for the duplicate set they don't want ;)

I think it's easier to go through DC though (if you're wanting another doll that is) Tiku has been tempting me to buy a BID through DC as I also want the set :XD: and I think I'm tempted

    33. *as the voice of temptation* 'buy it buy it! :sweat especially if it's a doll you've been planning... which mine was in terms of size (had hard time with sculpt and face for a while).

I forgot to order the extra hands this time round though... resin match for normal shouldn't be an issue in a month or two should it? Or should I go back and add them now so they can come with the doll? I'll want the 'sword hand since it can grasp a bit ;p

    34. I'm not easily tempted since there's no one I really want at this time, and I really don't want to spend the $50 extra just to order through Doll Choice. If I have to I'll just make the weapons myself - they'd probably be stronger from what I'm hearing about how delicate the resin ones are. I've made swords and pistols before, so I know it's doable, but I was hoping to go the easy route. So I'm just going to wait and see this new KID they said they'd be releasing in the fall.

    35. I've seen some of the swords but not the pistols O_o. And what do you make them out of (you say they might be stronger). I can see you not wanting anything but the weapons but even they would be on the large side... do you even have 'large scale' dolls for these weapons? (seriously I can't recall XP)

    36. I do have several larger dolls - 2 EIDs, a SID, and three tall girls from other companies, all of which I bought before I became addicted to the smaller dolls. I usually make weapons out of a combination of fine hardwoods, wire, Apoxie Sculpt, and metal findings. The hardwood blades are very strong, and can be painted to look just like metal. I've made a pirate pistol for a cloth doll before too. I suspect that the larger a gun needs to be, the easier it would be to make one, so it would be easier to make one for an EID than for a KID. But I'm getting old and lazy. Even so, $60 for a blank gun (plus the cost of a doll I don't need, and $50 to buy through DC) makes me seriously consider making it myself.

    37. MB Lilac, Eilidh, Forever: Thank you :)

MB Lilac; wow....making weapons sounds difficult, I don't think that I could make anything that looks real. Most of my dolls have letter openers for swords (short swords at least) or model toy guns

    38. Letter openers work great for slim minis and smaller dolls like KIDs and BIDs. Not so much for bigger dolls. I used to know someone who made swords with aluminum blades for my art doll character - which were apron the same size as slim minis. I still have a few of those swords left, and they are perfect for the smaller dolls as well.

Here's my Lonnie with a nice letter opener sword....

    39. Hi guys,
just have a question about layaway with iplehouse. Do you have to send the payments yourself, or do they send you an invoice each month? I really want a kid Lonnie.

    40. Iple does not invoice you... you either go directly to your pp account OR after you make your first Payment (at the time you order)... you can go through your order form page for the rest of the payments. It's sort of like repeating what you did the first time... buy YOU must make the payments and remember when... but the due dates are shown in blue (think thats the right color) on the bottom of the order sheet...

    41. Ah thankyou Lady Tiku. I've done layaway before but been invoiced so this is new. Do you basically divide your payment however you like then, as long as it's paid by the due date? So if you want to pay more one month it's ok?

    42. yes and no lol... you have to pick 2, 3, or 4 payments. I would always choose 4. That is the initial (or first payment 'with' the order) then you have 3 more months/payments left. Yes you can pay more often and pay off early.... as long as you pay a portion by each due date and pay in full by the last one it's all good. I did one LA with IH but I like my points too much to give them up again lol. so I won't use it unless I need too ;p Yes you do not earn points on any LA items :( Also you can NOT use LA in Doll Choice O_O ><.

LA once you have gone through the process in IH is very easy really and you can track what you do on your order sheets under 'my iple' ^^ It shows each payment you make ... only if you don't pay at the 'suggested' date we'll call it... it does not show the date you actually 'did' pay. O_o I found that a bit odd when I had to pay early on one when I couldn't pay 'on the date'.

btw... which doll are you stalking? ;p

    43. Thankyou soo much. I've just discovered the kid size. I've been soo stuck in fairyland land that I haven't been looking at anything else for ages. I wanted another ltf size doll but not another ltf, and knew about the bid size. But then I saw the kid size and totally thought that was a cool size as I have no dolls that size. I have narrowed it down to Lonnie or Irene. But I think I like Lonnie better. I think she will fit in nicely with all my other kawaii dolls. I haven't had much luck with iplehouse, I got the Bianca Addiction last year and didn't like her body at all, so I sold her. I'm not much of a fan of the jid size either (mnf on the brain) so I'm hoping I'll love the kid size. My only iplehouse right now is an old Barron. So yeah, I'm trying not to impulse buy right now and give myself a few days to think about it some more, but it's all I'm thinking about right now, and I've even been looking at clothes for her.

    44. what didn't you like about the other iplehouse bodies? if you are looking for a doll with the posability of fairyland you wont find it in any of the iplehouse dolls, but the sculpts have a realism that fairyland lacks. i have dolls from both companies and love them for completely different reasons.

    45. I think my KID poses decently. I find her easier to pose than the bigger Iplehouse dolls I have. She doesn't have the range that some of my others do but she's a solid poser.

    46. I agree about the KIDs posing better than the larger IH dolls. Except I hate the KID elbows. Those have very limited mobility and look really ugly when locked into the bent position - especially with bare arms. I wish they'd put mobility joints in their upper arms so there's more range of posing. Right now I can't get much more than up or down. I think IH gets so carried away with making their dolls look beautiful naked they forget that we need to be able to pose them well too.

    47. Yeah the elbows, from behind, look weird when bent.

Older photo because I haven't taken doll photos in a long time.

[IMG]Faith by Jen Savage, on Flickr

    48. i think that is the difference right there. my lonnies are decent posers the fairyland dolls are generally known for being amazing posers. and quite frankly my asa sucks at posing! so for someone like ladydeath who has almost exclusively fairyland dolls the posing of iplehouse will be disappointing.

but they do have other things to love. i love the size, sculpt and skin tones of my lonnies and they pose well enough for the most part for what i need them to do. there aren't many dolls this size and i'm happy that iplehouse was one of the ones that filled the niche 'cause i love their sculpts.

    49. I didn't like the big Iplehouse Bianca because she was too curvy, heavy and hard to handle/find clothes that fit. I also didn't like her facial sculpt. I do have other dolls apart from all fairyland, and I don't judge everything posing wise off fairyland as I know fairyland is the exception. I am picky about sd dolls and wasn't into them or played with the ones I had for ages. I really only like feeples. But as far as tinies, I do love a lot of different companies. I was really drawn to the kid size as I think it's a really in between cute size, and I really liked the sculpts in that size. I don't even care too much about the posing abilities too much when I find a doll I like as I have RS/BBB dolls and they are awful posers. I've even had to suede my fairylands.

    50. Just wondering, do all dollmore narsha clothes fit?

    51. they should. i have both, so you'd think i could answer that one easily but my girls have fairly different styles so they don't swap very many clothes. however the few they have swapped fit fine. i think when the kids came out someone did a comparison and said the narshas were slightly bigger in the hips so if anything the clothes might be a tad loose there's a what fits thread that might give more detailed info

    52. I just found a lovely Lonnie still in her box basically new for sale on eBay. I was looking earlier but nothing, then I happened to look again and there she was! Soo excited. Do they take 7/8 wig size? Now I'm going to have to go and buy shoes and clothes.

    53. if she does not have a CoA don't go near it.... could be a recast especially if it's a super good deal and the seller seems to know very little about IH.

    54. Oh no, she has the certificate in one of the photos, has photos of her still in the box. I don't buy any doll without the cert, and if possible the box too. I paid the going rate for her, maybe a bit higher, but she comes with an unopened iplehouse outfit too. I refuse to pay these prices for dolls unless I am getting the cert/box etc. I hate having to worry about recasts, loving fairyland soo much and seeing recasts of theirs too is awful. I always do my research before buying, even when I saw her for sale I didn't just hit the buy button, I checked the sellers feedback too, but thankfully eBay has good buyer protection.

    55. Glad to hear! ^^ I've seen a few reports of recast sold on Ebay lately on the IH Q/A boards and have not dealt with Ebay in so long it was before the major overhaul they did. So I was a bit 'hyper' aware of the 'recast' thing ;p. The CoA is a must even if say all you might want is to get a 'new face up' or something O_o...

And I'm also glad I'm not the only one who has a thing for getting the boxes too lol. Even if they are slowly taking over storage in my home :ablink::aeyepop::eek:

    56. Oh I love the boxes, my attic houses them all. And yes, the recast thing in eBay is scary, just buying a doll second hand anywhere is scary. I've seen a lot of recast fairyland on eBay lately, advertised as just a "bjd doll", but anyone who even knows a fairyland doll would spot it a mile off. I hate it. It makes it harder buying and selling dolls now. But at least IH dolls come with coa's, fairyland didn't start till this year.
I can't wait to get her, she's peach gold with face up b I believe the seller stated. I'm trying not to go mad buying her clothes, but at least she might be able to share some of my mnf's clothes. I figured out she uses 6/7 wigs and 12mm eyes?

I'll admit I don't post a lot on the boards here, but I think I'll have to start posting pictures and spend more time here.

    57. Yes, Lonnie can wear 6/7 wigs. She usually comes with 12mm eyes, but I switched all my KIDs to 10mm. I'm not fond of the way the 12mm iris fills so much of the eye space.

    58. I guess I'm hosed if I ever try and sell my Lonnie then. The seller I got her from was the second owner and didn't have the box or the COA - just the restringing paperwork. I know it's an Iplehouse faceup though and she's got her little sticker plate thing...plus I would be more wary if she was in normal skin that peach gold...I have not heard of any recasters making anything in a peach gold color but then again I'm not really up on that stuff. Oh well....guess I'm stuck with her!
