Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 64

Mar 26, 2019

    1. Totally go through Denver Doll. They're really great to work with. I've bought all of my new dolls from them save for one.

    2. Yes in in the US. Whats wrong with Dolkus?

    3. @ToshiIsAoba Dolk Company Reviews For starters. But if you look around the forum (just search dolk/dolkus) you'll hear a lot of horror stories about Dolkus. Even mods have broken their rather neutral position more than once to advise people to research before buying from this company. They are legitimate but they are horrible about keeping on communication and several instances have been reported of items missing from shipments and the buyer having to file claims with PayPal because the company itself wouldn't reply to any of their e-mails. In addition, you're paying for out-of-country shipping instead of going through a US dealer and only paying US shipping. There's not a lot of reasons to have to go through Dolk anymore. In the past it was a great one-stop-shop when there were fewer options available, but now that the market is booming with dealers (especially local ones) ordering from them isn't worth the gamble.
Furthermore, Denver Doll is the official customer service branch for Fairyland in the U.S. Essentially going through DDE is like going through FL direct only you pay less in shipping. They're less of a middle man that Dolk is and far easier to work with. You'll find most US buyers for new Fairyland items will use them.

    4. Seconding everything akaisha said, with the add on that Fairyland actually requests that US buyers go through DDE rather than them. Also, yeah, I've heard bad things about Dolkus too. If you're in the US there's really zero reason to order through them, DDE is not only more reliable, the shipping will be cheaper. I've ordered through DDE a few times now and they're good at communicating and also have some very nice layaway options for your order if you're not able to pay it all up front. I mean, even if you can, it takes a few months for the order to come in regardless so you might as well make it easier and pay in installments XD That's personal preference, though.

    5. Well thank you for the info, i'll steer clear from them then. Im not to experienced with bjd shops, I've only ever ordered from Alice Collections so im not to knowledgeable on other sites.

    6. Totally order through DDE. They are super great about communicating and answer emails super quick. I've never had an issue ordering with them.

Question of my own though, what was the minifee/fairyline release that came with an event head?

      • x 1
    7. My minifee Iru has shipped~! :dance I feel like I'm gonna be excitedly refreshing the tracking page every day until it arrives lol

      • x 2
    8. That's a really tough question to answer. A lot of the minifee and fairyline releases have coincided with an event. There are a lot of event heads out there. Is there a particular one you were wondering about?

Speaking of event heads... I took a picture of all of my fairies earlier (all elf event heads) and I just love seeing them all together like this (even if I am awful at group photos!)

      Here are my girls <3

In the purple is Bramble, my Juri '08
In the dark green is Pythia, my Nanuri '14
In the coral is Sen, my Sarang '15 (modded)
In the burgundy is Echo, my Rin elf (modded)
In the navy is Shadow, my Siean

    9. UGH. Phone keyboards are the worst, it should have read โ€œwhat was the LAST release with an event head?โ€ I got the engraved event head with my Alicia and then I also got a Rens but she did not come with one so Iโ€™m wondering if I was an idiot and just didnโ€™t add it to my cart during my initial order or if she didnโ€™t have one with her release at all.

    10. @Cheebee ooh okay! I believe Iru was the most recent release that coincided with an event. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong but the most recent event head I am aware of was the Sarang 19 which was with Iru. Prior to that would have been the winter event which was with the Honoka release (I think) and that had the Nanuri 2019 -1 and Nanuri 2019 - 2 heads

    11. @malvinas Excellent! That soothes my not quite yet wounded ego thank you!

    12. I have recently been working on my faceups and thought I'd share my NS and WS human Hwayus. Hwayu human or vampire is such a gorgeous sculpt to me, I hope they release her in other sizes too one day...

    13. @helenb92 your girls are both beautiful and I just love that photo! Thank you for sharing them!

    14. A question for anyone who has recently bought a Minifee with the default faceup. A few years ago Fairyland were using something on their faceups which had a 'pearly' shimmery effect. It even sometimes looked like the dolls were a bit sweaty! I was just wondering if they were still doing that or if the faceups look more 'matte' again. Thanks!

    15. Can the Fairyland Moe Line Minifee boys wear heeled shoes? Like not high heels but like chunky heels so 2-3 inch heels?

    16. I don't have a Moe boy, but a suggestion might be to use a larger MSD female's shoes, like Dollmore or Luts - just check the sizes to see if they are close enough. I've done that with SD boys before.

    17. the Moe boy body has smaller feet than the other boy bodies, so wearing girl shoes shouldn't be a problem at all. Actually, pretty much any of the boys can wear your average girl shoes since mnf feet run small compared to other brands in general.

    18. Thanks! It's just so hard to find cute shoes for the boy BJD's, girl BJD's have a lot more selection for shoes and clothes in my opinion

    19. Hey everyone! I just have a quick question. I have a Sia head that I bought in a split on the MP that I was about to sell but I just noticed she has no markings inside her head. Is this normal for the Sia sculpt? I canโ€™t imagine sheโ€™s not legit because she has the horn magnets and she matches my body that was purchased directly from DDE.

any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    20. Hi. I curious if anyone knew of any tutorial on how to string the fairyline Minifee body with normal legs.

    21. I have a (secondhand) Sia from the original release, and she doesn't have a mark either.

    22. excellent thatโ€™s what I heard on facebook as well so that makes me feel much better! Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. :aheartbea

    23. Not all heads have the name marked inside. It depends on which of Fairyland's casting molds it was pulled from.

    24. So my newest girl, Avery-Lennox (MNF Honoka) has informed me that I need to get her a girlfriend. Now I want a tan Celine. *sigh* These MNF are addictive!!

    25. I realized I never shared my namesake here. I finally got her after years of wanting her. Here's Corpse. Well, a rough draft of her, anyways. She's a Ria in WS

    27. Has anyone ordered a doll via a la carte recently? I ordered my first minifee/fairyland doll about a month ago and I was just curious about their turnaround times. Are they the average 3 month wait like most places?

I think I'm getting rather excitable for my new girl. She'll also be my first non-SD doll, too. *_*

    28. I haven't ordered one recently, but anywhere from 1 to 3 months is the standard. I've ordered a few a la carte dolls over the years and it always lands somewhere in that window, lol. Fastest I ever got was something absurd like 3 weeks, though generally right around two has been the average outside of that.

    29. Thank you for the reply~ I was guessing around the 3 month mark by the 60-70 business days (which puts me in the first week of September. I hope I don't have to wait that long!) It's been about a month now, so I continue to be hopeful, lol! It's been a few years since I last got a new doll and I've never had one from Fairyland or had an MSD. I have always heard great things about the posting abilities of the minifee so I'm excited to get my new girl (tan Celine) home.

    30. Good luck with the wait, @LiselT ! It's always a struggle being patient, haha. I'm waiting on a Klaus fullset myself >o<

On another note, I picked up these super cute little lawn chairs at Michaelโ€™s earlier today and Iโ€™m just so pleased because theyโ€™re perfect for my minifee! Iโ€™m planning on making a neat little garden style sitting area for all my dolls so these will be part of it, and so will the little mini fountain behind them!
Here's Gwen and Gabe modeling them, hehe. I've got a new wig coming in for Gwen too, so looking forward to her finally having long hair again!

    31. They look great I got a couple of those too and made some cushions so it is more of a lounge chair for my 1/6 guys, but they are perfect for 1/4 and Minifees.

    32. @Hakari-chan I donโ€™t think I have ever been so impatient for one before. :sweat Usually I can do the thing where I just kinda let it go for maybe 2 months and then start this process because I know itโ€™s getting close. This is a little brutal this time, lol! Little miss Violet is going to be a special doll for me, possibly even my mascot for my eventual art studio so I am very excited.

Those chairs are a great find! I saw a something similar at Michaelโ€™s a few weeks ago and was eyeing them as possibly the right size for my incoming minifee, but my hubby talked me out of getting them since I donโ€™t have her yet to make sure they are the right size. I am regretting listening to him, now! They fit so adorably. <3

    37. Thank you~! He's so pretty can't stop taking photos of him ;v; haha

    38. OMG, so cute. I got some lawn chairs too from Micheals. I did not see the cute wood ones, I got little metal ones

Has anyone else ordered minifee ballet feet? And if so how good is the NS resin match?

    39. Does anyone have a Mir/Mika (Mirka) and an Alicia? I'm considering reshelling one of my characters to a smaller head. Since she's going to be photographed with my Mirka, I want to make sure the size isn't too much. Right now she's a sleeping chloe and just huge in comparison.

    40. Could you elaborate on this? I have no clue what you're talking about but am intrigued

    41. Any time you're ordering parts, whether it be hands or feet, there's always the risk it's not going to perfectly match the body you're putting them with. FL has pretty good consistency as far as resin color goes, however, all dolls yellow with age, so the older the body, the more difference there will be in color compared to newer parts. Body blushing can help mitigate that, though, and with the heeled feet, at least they'll generally be in shoes so chances are you wouldn't see it much anyways.

    42. @CAKE TIME Tonocha331 on Instagram is making Minifee Ballet feet. They are so cute.
      Here is her website:

@Hakari-chan thank you for an answer. I am going to blush the feet to match my body as it is couple years old so I am hoping the match is close enough that it isnt super noticable

    44. I had not heard of these, but had seen photos floating around without a source. Thank you for pointing out the maker, because these are lovely!

    46. Jackie is my little cosplayer:lol:
Of course, she needs a completely different make-up for this wig... But I like so much how it fits so I decided why not? Ginger girls like cosplay too:3nodding:

    48. I just found the maker recently. I have looking for her for while. Lol. I ordered a pair, I can't to see them.

    49. I've never posted a picture of my Minifee boy here before and since I just finally finished his wig and took some pictures I'm obsessed with, I'll share him now!
His name is Bishop Blue, but he goes by his last name. I've always adored the mir/Mika sculpt so I'm so excited to finally have him all ready for pictures!

    50. My Celine's default from 2013 had that shimmery effect but my Mio from 2014 does not. I don't know if they have gone back or not. Honestly your best bet is to look closely at the head you want and find their default face up because I don't think they ever change the default face up after the fact.

    51. He's awesome!!! Love his style:cool:

      • x 1
    52. My Celine from earlier this year doesn't have the shimmery effect - she's quite matte. I wonder if it might have been a particular batch of sealant?

    53. It's been almost a year since my wreck (as I like to call it, my death day and second birthday) and I finally have Keely a new body since hers was smashed in the wreck and she has a new faceup as well. I'm so happy to finally have my derpy little girl back.

    54. @xxSugarxPopzxx she's so pretty! I'm glad you were able to make Keely whole and especially glad that you're here to share her!

Hello again! I'm looking for pics of Mirka with Alicia still, but I also want to see him with mio too. If anyone has these dolls and can take a quick comparison photo I'd be very grateful! Thank you!!

    55. Finally I can join this thread! I got one of my grails, a Minifee Mika! I never thought I'd be able to get one but here he is! My sad little android phone can't post pictures quite yet but hes blank and nakey anyway lol. By the way, does anybody know of a shop that has the minifee moe boy body as a model? I have a specific look in mind and the measurements need to be perfect :3nodding:
