@Renske129 I love this doll. I have been admiring her ever since I started collecting. She is absolutely gorgeous.

 

For those who got Carol's Full Set, be careful with some of the layers in her skirt. Some layers are tulle while the others are organza. When I received mine, the organza layer was already fraying and coming apart. I contacted Fairyland and they don't consider it as damage because of the material, but I think that given they know it can fray, they should've applied fray check or another sealant to the edge. Definitely a little disappointed.

 

Hi Everyone,

Very new to the forums and I’m not sure if I’m in the appropriate place... But I was wondering if someone could help me identify this floating head I forgot I had. It apparently came with my Eva... and then I promptly left it in her box and forgot about it. Oops.

I was going to add a picture... but I don’t really know how... so in lieu of that, I will say that the inside of her head is stamped 2017 with Korean lettering

Any help is appreciated

 

@Cherribaum that sounds like the summer 2017 event head. Spring and Halloween heads that year said “spring” and “Halloween,” while the summer head had Korean writing. I owned all four 2017 Minifee event heads, at one point.

 

Fairyland have events a few times a year, so it's hard to say from Year alone. I'm afraid I can't remember which release Eva was. Perhaps have a scroll down this page and see if you can spot it.

Thank you so much looking at it on the image blog and hearing from the previous poster have definitely confirmed it’s the summer 2017 head.

Now to get her a body and a face.

Hello!! I'm wondering if there are any major differences between the cutie and model legs?
I'm liking the look the model legs, but I'm worried that everything is made for cutie legs and that there may be differences in posing between the two!

Photo comparisons would be awesome, but even just word of mouth would really help!

 

The cutie legs tend to look bow-legged in poses, IMO. Some people think that's extra-cute for toes-in poses.

 

I noticed how bowlegged they look and idk if that would work for the "sexy mature" look I'm going for... But if nothing fits model legs, it makes things annoying and challenging!

I'm buying an "a la carte" New A-line minifee and in one small blurb they mention they they now have magnetic ankle joints, but I can't find a mention of that anywhere else!! I need to know if the feet are magnetic or not so I know whether or not I need to buy the ankle parts!

 

If they come with magnetic feet (and pretty sure they do), they’ll come with magnetic ankles, as well. It wouldn’t make sense to sell the feet without any way to attach them, right?

Fairyland sells magnetic feet and ankle joints separately for those who want to switch their minifee’s old hook feet to new magnetic feet.

 

@Biku_27 I believe that DDE's a la carte listings have comparison photos between the model and cutie type legs.

 

I need more of a pose comparison, like I'm wondering if the range of motion is different

 

I bought the model legs on one my A-lines girls last year, and with them there’s some gaping around the knee joint that I was not a fan of. Other than that, they posed and fit clothes the same as the cutie legs.

 

I can't wait until I can take her outside to photograph. I love Fairyland's faceup. Those eyebrows really do it for me. (I have struggled putting on her wig though.)

I have both; there is no difference in their posing or range of motion.

Like dxgirly said, there is a little strange gapping around the knees on the model, but it doesn't effect the posing at all.

@Lillyroos Thank you! I think styling her wig will help her look more like the promo photos. Have you heard about the status of your girl yet?


I was also wondering what size doll would be a good companion as an older sibling for a minifee? I think 1/3 can be a bit big. I know that there are some 50 cm dolls though.

 

@PaeoniaDrop they are most definitely not siblings in my group, but WithDoll are nicely taller than MNFs with a more mature look. Spirit Doll are taller too (45cm for the girls, 48cm for the boys), and look very nice next to MNFs (but do I have any pictures of that right now? Of course I don't! )

 

Thank you so much for the suggestion. Yours make such a nice couple. Someone shared a photo with me of a 65 cm doll next to a minifee and that was much larger than I thought it would be. I have to remember that it's not only height but also the proportions.

 

@PaeoniaDrop I just found out due to Covid EMS is not shipping to The Netherlands. I had no idea. I wonder why FairyLand can't use an other shipping service.

 

@Lillyroos You should contact them about upgrading your shipping to DHL if that's an option you want to consider.

 

I forgot to update here, and posted this to the waiting room as well, but I contacted Fairyland last week about their update regarding DHL and EMS Premium shipping.

If you have a past order that was paid for with EMS as the shipping option, you can upgrade to DHL or EMS Premium by contacting them. However, the cost is really high. Upgrading to DHL for shipping to Australia was US$80 and to EMS Premium was US$82, on top of the standard cost already paid with the order.

So I'm going to just keep waiting, because it isn't exactly urgent, and the exchange rate isn't great right now (US$80 is about AU$120).

 

Hey, can anyone with an Ante confirm head circumfrence for me?

 

Hi, I just measured my Ante for you and it's approximately 18 and a half cm circumference at the widest point. Hope that's helpful!

 

For those who have Carols, does everyone have a ink writing? I saw two people on IG indicate that their blank heads have the writing, but neither of my full set heads have ink writing. I put a flash light into her head to double check.

@Lillyroos - It might still be worth emailing to check for your country's status. Australia's shipping is usually pretty obnoxious to begin with, so the up-charge might not be quite as bad for your location. There was no commitment to actually upgrade shipping upon enquiry, they just said if I wanted to do so, to pay and confirm with them via email after.

 

I wanted to share a couple of my gals in their new Edwardian inspired petticoats.
Both are ns Chloe sculpt (my favorite) - Colette is waiting to be painted -
Chantal is a default Fairyland paint. Chantal is wearing on of my gorgeous
Raouken corsets (etsy) and a lovely alpaca wig from an etsy artist. Colette is
just wearing a Tonner Cinderella top and a Tibetan mohair wig that I made.
She's going to be helping me making the next petticoat so she can't wear a
corset just yet.

 

They are very beautiful! I love how delicate they look. Did you piece in every bit of lace, or were did the fabric come with the lace cutouts?

I sewed each and every piece of lace in myself - all of the arcs and all of the chevrons too!
Each of these petticoats took many hours to make!!

Does anyone know if MNF event heads tend to be rare? I am trying to decide if I should sell my event head now to fund a new doll, but am afraid I'll have future regrets.

 

I mean heads are generally only made for that one event, so yes? I have a Juri '14 for example, the one that looks like Soony, and as far as I'm aware they've never re-released her. Same goes for all of them! That said, sometimes it's easier to find others on the marketplace second hand than others? The older they get generally the less you'll see them around as they kind of settle in with long term owners in the hobby.

 

Have you seen the announcement FairyLand made? Tan skin will be discontinued for a "long time", but I don't know how long, haha. I think they have done this before, right?

I think it depends on the sculpt. Some event heads are more rare and/or popular than others, affecting their price and frequency in the marketplace. What event head do you have?

 

It depends. The older they get, the harder they are to find. The Sarang 2014 for example goes for 300$ on the secondhand market, while the Nanuri 2017 can be as low as 90$.

 

@~A*K~ I have the most recent version of Nanuri 19/20 so I am hoping it won't be too hard to reacquire her.

 

Considering that it's recent, I'm guessing it won't be an impossible mission, but consider that the price may rise later.

Hello, does someone have pictures of the way the A-line body's upper legs are supposed to look when they are connected to the hip joint? My MNF hybrid appears to have to different long legs but I am sure that is only because on the one side the thigh isn't nestled into the socket correctly. However, I don't know which of the legs is assembled the right way. Any help is appreciated!

 

Hi everyone! Haven’t had a Minifee in a very long time, but when I saw this beautiful girl I couldn’t resist. She’s a 2017 Summer Event Head on an A-line body. Only trouble I’m having is thinking of a name...
This isn’t her final wig/eyes, just what I’m using while I wait for her own ones to come, but I think the blue wig suits her!

 

I'm also panicking. Just read the announcement of tan skin being pulled down from the 30th of June. Really wanted Rens in tan but now I'm wondering what the new event will be. Wish FairyLand would pull it a few days after showing pictures of the new event not before.

 

I'm currently in a lawayaw with DDE and I started another one for a Tan Mirwen Boy. I was going to wait until next "tan period", but I read several comments that tan hasn't been back in other FairyLand lines, so...

 

So, I figure this may interest others as it did me, I asked FL if they have any estimates how long tan minifees will be unavailable for. This is the answer I got:

"Thank you for your interest in our FairyLand dolls.

Currently, we do not have any immediate plans nor any specific time in mind for the next tan skin processing schedule.

Thank you for your understanding in advance and hope you have a nice day."

So essentially it could be anywhere from a month to years from now, that's fun I didn't expect them to have a specific date, but didn't expect to hear there's no plan at all for when it'll come back, haha.

 

They mentioned in their announcement that it's partly due to monsoon season coming up. I also suspect Covid affecting shipping and how many people can be in a workspace is also a factor.

They always say "no immediate plans or specified time" so that even if they did have a planned date, something else could happen causing another delay, so it's better to just say "no plans" so that people don't come for them with pitchforks (extreme exaggeration, but you know what I mean) when they give an estimate but can't follow through.

 

This makes sense, but I guess we were all expecting something like "in months, in years" kind of thing. Anyway, many of us already placed our orders and I hope it will be worth it.

Just plopping in to say I LOVE the event vampire heads... I currently have Maya's vampire sculpt, and will have Carol's vampire sculpt soon. I never imagined myself having vampire sculpts, just because of my personal ideas for my dolls, but welp, that's changed haha. All I want are vampire heads now

 

I just saw this. If you give me a day or two I can get a picture for you! I have Mirwen and Soo. Soo's head is quite a bit wider than Mirwen's. Do you want a picture with wig and everything or would it be more useful to have them be wigless in the picture?

I can't believe they posted about tan being pulled FIVE days before the end of the event, unless I totally missed the earlier memo.... I only found out about it this very moment. I completely understand precautions for monsoon season and covid shipping problems, but that is absolutely not enough time to budget for a ~500 dollar doll!! With hearing that the other FL lines lost the tan option over time and they've yet to return, I'm very nervous about the likelihood of them bringing it back for mnf anytime soon...

I hope everyone that really wanted tan managed to get orders in in time!!

 

I did panic a bit seeing the announcement. I’ve wanted a tan Alicia for a long time but kept putting it off until “later”. Well, I guess later was Saturday because she’s now on layaway. I think I will wait until after the pandemic to send her off for a face-up.

 

I've never been a fan of vampire sculpts until the dreaming Erda event head. I just HAD to put the full option pack on layaway for that head specifically! I mean, he's a dragon, so they could be dragon fangs in my story. I also ordered the full option pack of Carol, since her vampire head seems cute too.
